man they have a billion dollar co. and noone is ther to answer the ph ,they are all playing golf! 3 drives in less than 2 years ,ill never buy another one!

terrible product 2nd one and all seagate can do is replace it. Data is gone. Tech support just gave me the run around. all it is, is an anchor. I never moved mine as it just sits on a shelf. All my dat is gone. they can recover it for a cost. wow so can anyone else. Why did i purchase this external drive for?? they need to get it together or get out of this business. they wont even pay for the shipping of the replacement. dont buy seagate product

Hitachi hard drives are one of the betetr makes, i prefer to use either Hitachi or Western digital as they are both known to be very reliable, Seagate used to be very good, but i have noticed quite a few drive failures with some models.

iLike.But unfortunately, like you said, Internet ccnneotivity isn't possible unfortunately (at this time), if you're device might be using Wi-Fi to get connected to the Internet.. since it's also using Wi-Fi to connect instead.And if that's so, maybe they should've provided a Bluetooth option instead, in order for your mobile device to be connected w/Wi-Fi then use file transfers from this portable hard drive. Incidentally, iDevices aren't known for Bluetooth transfers w/their iDevices if I'm not mistaken.. Wi-Fi is the preferred option instead.Nonetheless, how about if your mobile or iDevice has 4G, 3G, 2G, etc. (instead of Wi-Fi) in order to get connected to the Internet, does it still apply that you can't do file transfers via Wi-Fi w/Seagates' GoFlex Satellite Wireless Portable Hard Drive? Hmm..: /

Purchased a few barracuda hard drives, but one ( I didn't update the firmware, as you shouldn't have too!) I then got the no detection in bios, the drive was in mint conditions, I arranged with Seagate to get it picked up, this took 6 months! the postal carrier was TNT who I would never use! when my drive arrived at Seagate I was told it was in bits and non repairable? unless I paid for a data recovery? I have since been left in the dark, no reply or any of my questions have been answered by Seagate.

I have had three Seagate hard drives and all three wnet out on me for no apparent reason. No damage, no virus, etc they just went out and I have lost important data that Seagate wants to charge me to recover. two of which were backup hard drives. They do not back their products as they should and then has the nerve to want to charge people 5,000 for expedited phone calls. This is robbery as a company should stand by their products. They only care about getting your money anyway they can without any compassion to their customer's needs or issues. Needless to say that I will NEVER purchase another seagate hard drive again. Thanks for nothing
