Was on the Ohio turnpike and stopped at a service plaza (Erie Island Plaza according to my receipt) David was our server, and I must say it was absolutely the very worst service and pizza I have ever had. I was with my son and his family, and he said it was good at the mall, couldn't prove it by me. When I asked for sugar for my ice tea I was told to get it at the Burger King. Really? My son and his wife had the cheese pizza and it was just a massive glob of mystery gunk. I got three maybe four pieces of pepperoni on my slice. And FYI my chk # 764, on Jul06'12 8:04pm. And we were gst 3. I would have rather had frozen pizza from the grocery store. And another thing I am 60 years old had worked in the service industry for over 30 years. Not even close to good customer service. With this kind of service I will bet my last dollar it won't be long before your company goes belly up.
I went the sbarro restaurant located in southcenter. The manger on duty she was rude and mean. I always ate here and the food they gave me was old and when i told her about the food. They were making funny on that. I hope you guys have better sersvice then that.
Sadly our company had become the worst restaurant in America starting from corporate all the way down to dishwasher ..pressureand more. Pressure that's all employee get in this company..we have the worst managers in the entire company..lazy they clock in and the first thing they do is give orders and go seat and the back to stuff their faces off while good employees are busting their assess care more for ur employees actually train Ur staff so you can have a successful business..
I just ate a slice of supreme pizza at the Sbarro Westminster mall location. It was reheated to a cracker-crunch and was sparseley topped with sauce and cheese and topppings. I would like to complain about the INCONSISTANCY of your chains. It is wrong that corporate allows franchise owners to alter the recipe. The one and only decent Sbarro is at the Moreno Valley Mall, where the owner divulged to me that he follows the recipe and most others do not. I will never eat at another Sbarro again. I have comment for upper management. Start listening to your managers and customers. DO's stop treating management in your stores like shit. Stop over charging for your product. Stop blaming stores that are down in sales that they areALWAYS at fault. Reality is no marketing or corporate support. You have a good product now do what is right for your hard working managers and listen to what they input as well as your customer. Enough is enough. Make quality number one again and stop putting balloons and harrassing guests as your company's main focus.
I am a former Assistant Manager for the company in Las Vegas, NV. I must say , I felt pretty horrible working for them, but as we all say, its a job. I made the food RIGHT, I was very clean and always thought to do the right thing. But the other staff(GMs,other Assistants,cashiers,pizza maker) didnt give a flying fuck. They made food right after dealing with money. The steam food was horrible. DONT EVER EAT THE CHICKEN SERVED THERE! They save it for the next days use...sometimes even after a week. The way they make it appealing is by adding cheese and decoration. The District of Operations(Larry Minister, John Lennor) are the worst money hungry sons of bitches ever. They fired over 21 people in the last 3 months. They blamed us for not making sales quota. They would tell us to lie to the customers to we can get a better GCA(Guest Check Average) and so we can beat sales. Their bonuses relied on our performance on sales. Im not saying I never liked to do my job, I never liked lying to people and hustling them for almost a $5 slice. and Drinks being at 2.48$ . How the fuck are people supposed to buy that??? Combo alone was 7.55$ Drink,slice,and side dish. I was working there for 9 months...very hard worker! Always on the box(Sales tactic for pulling in customers walking by) passing out breadstick samples to everyone. Suggesting dishes , upselling and just being a friend behind the counter. I asked for a raise due to my hard work but instead recognizing my efforts, THEY FIRED ME!!! I want to sue so bad but theres a law in Nevada stating any employer can fire anyone without given reason! I know right, seems like that law had corporate influence. I will never work for them again, I wanna expose the false practices they engage in and the health code violations they do on an everday basis. When you see a Sbarro just turn the way and go to McDonalds.
I recently visited sbarro, after going online and doing a survey. I did the survey because an employee there suggested i do it for a free slice of pizza. The young lady that suggested it realized that i was a regular customer who would visit sbarro with my daughter every weekend. I got my receipt and went home to do a customer survey. After the survey i got a code to go and recieve a free slice of pizza. I decided that i would go to the movies in the Sunrise Mall in Citrus Heights, CA and then afterwards visit sbarro to claim my free slice of pizza. After the movie, i went to sbarro with my friend and bragged how i was going to get a free slice of pizza from sbarro. I asked for a New York slice of sausage and pepporoni and proceeded to the check out. When i got to the register i was so excited and told the lady helping me that i was going to get a free slice. I then gave her the receipt and she looked at it for about two to three minutes and couldnt understand. She was furious because i was using a coupon to get a free slice of pizza. She called her manager to come to the register and told her i had a coupon for a free slice and tried to embarrass me. The manager said that i had the wrong slice so i said sorry i did not know it was only for specific kinds. The manager threw the slice away in front of me and then said "Well now we have to throw this one away so do you want cheese or pepporoni" so i said "Pepporoni". THe girl at the register rolled her eyes and shook her head at me. The girl at the register did not realize that i see her every weekend because i visit the mall there on the weekends. It was very hurtful that this is the service that i get plus not to mention the other things that were going through my head with the negative customer service. I went back after explaining to my friends that i was going to get the corporate phone number so i could give them a call. When i went back to ask what the name of the lady who helped me was, the manager, whom i found out was the manager after explaining i was calling corporate, she told me that her name was rebecca. She then said the girls name that helped me was rebecca and her name was Raquel. I am sure she thought that this was a joke because she said "Do whatever you want, i do not care." she stated that she did not have the regional or corporate number to sbarro either so then i grabbed a water and bought it because i knew that the name of the Host would be printed on the reciept. I did not explain that to her but figured i would get it that way. I got the Host name which was irene (2534) at the Sunrise Mall address 6148 Sunrise Mall, Citrus Heights, CA 95610 phone number 916-729-8481. I had to come home and search on the internet for the corporate number because she lied about the girls name and that she did not have the number to the sbarro corporate. All of this to say the least and a small part of me wants to use the race card considering it is a mall that does not have a lot of blacks in it. I do not think that the piece of pizza was worth the pain and suffering that i recieved from these employees. I would never again support sbarro.
I believe the reviews placed here by Bob Lemkowitz are correct. This restaurant is nothing more than the industrial kitchen found on Rikers Island. Shame on this organization
Went to eat at the food court inside the Orleans casino what a joke nobody I'n charge the supposed to be manager looked like she was high as a kite told her the food was hard she told me she didn't know how to do a refund , this is the caliber of managers no wonder the company is bankrupt!!! I've worked @ Sbarro as an assistant manager, 3 times in Charleston, SC, under different management each time. Every experience was similar. Poor staff & management. Unethical practices. It's obvious to me that starting from the top, management's horrible and have no idea what to do for a company in the hole. The company's bankrupt & trying to hold out on some OT pay they owe me. I resigned. No help from corporate what so ever. Going to labor board. Just give it up all together, Sbarro. You can't dig yourself out of this hole.
My husband became violently ill LAST NIGHT after eating at the Fashion Place Mall location in Murray, UT. He is currently in the hospital receiving care because the bacteria that was on the food affected him so horribly. How can there be this many complaints and people that are ill and your main offices has not taken care of any of the problems. Not only do I have to deal with a teething infant now but also a husband whom is hospitalized from your crappy food. Change something or someone will most likely sue for stuff like this
They need to pay their bills promptly, pretty soon they will not have any vendors left to do their work!

This place has to be a joke as there is no earthly reason for it to exist, I measured the pizza and it is not the 15 3/4 inches in diameter it is 14 3/8 there is no truth in advertising. I will be calling the head office on July 5 in order to find out if this place is for real and will be reporting to you all when my investigation is complete.
I just got a job as a counter person and it was the biggest mistake of my life. The GM is so rude and belittling to everyone and they just put up with it. He wont even acknowledge me unless he is complaining about something I did. He'll stand behind the counter while there are customers cursing and saying effin this effin that. They don't want to take the time to train new employees but then they yell at you when you make a mistake. It was only my third day and I was still getting used to their confusing register, and he was getting very upset with me. I wouldn't give them any business ever again.
I do not know why I do it but I have once again gone to this pigsty in order to enjoy the milieu...this time I simply went from dish to dish asking the lady behind the counter questions about food preparation. The lady said..' I don't know much about food ' I asked why there was so much butter on all the dishes and was told ' we use butter in our dishes'....good grief is there no end to it ?????
This place is a joke. The whole staff are like car sales people, hi pressure to buy more than what you ask for when ordering, then they look mad when you say no. I filled out a survey for a free slice of pizza that was on the back of my receipt for my $8.00 lasagna, wow what a value? Anyway, at the end of the survey it states "you can have your choice of any of the thin sytle New York pizza," when I went to the Santa Ana Mall, in California, I was told no, you can only have cheese or peperroni, not the supreme thin crust New York Style?. This will be the last time I ever eat at any Sbarro's.
I have an invoice for some work that was done at the Esplanade Mall location in Kenner,LA. This invoice is dated January 19,2011. I have not yet received payment. What is the problem? I too, was hired as a Co-Manager in Las Vegas. I did not last more than 8 days in training. Everything Armando Najera said is true. I heard they trained 40 co/assistant managers in the last year, that's for 12 stores. You do the math. As a owner/operator/manager in the industry for over 30 years, I was told "I didn't have enough hospitality!" Imagine that! Larry's claim to fame was up-selling 200 dipping sauces in one day. @69 cents a pop that a astounding $138.00 in sales, not profit, just sales. This company is soooooo desperate for sales, they are willing to spend a ton of money on training instead of accept the fact that there is no traffic on the malls and keep the people they already have. I chose to opt out of that intense and unrealistic environment. I was also informed by the training manager of 15 years that she was in fear of her job. After 15 years you don't know if your going to have a job the next day? That's insane. If Larry Minister offers you a job, don't walk, RUN!
