TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN AT OHIO SAVINGS HEADQUARTERS, I HAVE A BIG PROBLEM WITH YOUR VAN ANKEN BRANCH IN SHAKER HTS OHIO, I HAVE BEEN A CUSTOMER AT THAT BRANCH SINCE JULY 2002 And I HAVE DIRECT DEPOSIT...I AM A RETIREE FROM A MAJOR COMPANY IN CLEVELAND. I GO TO THE BANK EVERY FIRST OF THE MONTH AND TAKE OUT A LARGE SUM SO I DO NOT HAVE TO GO BACK AND FOURTH MOST OF MY BILLS ARE DUE AT THE FIRST....ANYWAY I HAVE DOING THIS FOR YEARS WITH NO PROBLEM AT ALL....UNTIL JUNE 1 2012....I WITHDREW A LARGE AMOUNT OF CASH,THEY WERE MOSTLY $100.00 BILLS SO ASK THE TELLER TO MAKE A COUPLE OF THE BILLS SMALLER, BECAUSE I KNOW A LOT OF STORES DO NOT TAKE BIG BILLS. I LEFT AND MADE A COUPLE OF PUCHASES FROM GIANT EAGLE. WENT HOME, MY WIFE AND I WENT TO A RESTURANT THAT EVENING AND SHE PAID.. THE FOLLOWING DAY I WENT TO THE (BMV) FOR A AUTO STICKER, THE CLERK SAID ONE THE THREE $20.00's WAS A FAKE...HOW EMBASSING THAT WAS IN FRONT OF ALL OF THE PEOPLE IN THAT OFFICE.....I WENT DIRECTLY TO THE OHIO SAVINGS VAN AKEN BRANCH AND EXPLAIN TO THE ASSISTANT MANAGER HE SAID THERE WAS NOTHING HE COULD DO UNTIL I TALK TO THE MANAGER OF THE BANK....THEY WERE SUPPOSE TO CALL ME MONDAY MORNING AND NEVER DID SO I WENT UP THERE TO SEE WHAT WAS GOING WITH MY $20.OO BILL THAT I HAD GIVING TO THE ASSISTANT MANAGER.. I GOT TO SEE THE MANAGER SHE GAVE ME THE SAME EXCUSS AS THE PERSON BEFORE, THAT THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE MONEY ONCE YOU LEAVE THE BANK EVEN THOUGH THE MONEY WAS STILL IN THE ENVENLOPE THAT I HAD THE DAY BEFORE. THAT $20.00 CAME FROM THAT TELLER I HAD NO OTHER MONEY ON WHEN I CAME IN THE BANK. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE WAY THIS WAS HANDLED , I JUST WANT A REAL $20.00 BILL BACK IN MY ACCOUT OR HAND. THE MANAGER SAY SHE WAS GOING TO GIVE IT TO THEIR SECURITY TEAM, HOSTLY I DO NOT THINK SHE DID NOTHING. I AM NOT SURE IF THIS WAS A ACCIDENT OR IT WAS DONE ON PURPOSE TO MAKE SURE THE TELLER TRAY WAS RIGHT AT THE END OF THE DAY ONLY GOD KNOW WHAT HAPPEN WHEN HE GAVE ME THE MONEY.... I DID FILE A POLICE REPORT WITH SHAKER HTS POLICE. I HAVE BEEN AT THAT BANK FOR OVER 10 YEARS AND NEVER HAD NO PROBLEM THERE BEFORE. I HOPE THE HEADQUARTERS OF OHIO SAVINGS READ THIS IN DOWNTOWN CLEVELAND AND IN THE HEADQUARTERS IN NEW YORK....IN THE MEAN TIME I AM OUT OF $20.00
where do i begin? over 10 years ago, i had a problem with ohio savings bank - my mistake that i figured things have improved any. i went to open an account online, you know, because it's easy - and a month later - no contact or inquiries from the bank - no account. i call - first person tells me that maybe my check is there and you folks are "sitting on it" - she'd look into and get back to me in 72 hours...never happened. next person i talk to says that maybe my check was lost in the mail - it would be looked into and someone will get back to me. never happened. mind you again, it's been a month. try a third person - no help. talk to customer relations who assures me - after i tell him i'm going to stop payment on the check now - that ohio savings will take care of me and reimburse me the stop payment fees. that all i need to do is fax proof - i did. NOW, not only did he lie to me and tell me he'd be looking into this the next few days - what he failed to say - was that he would not even be in the office the next few days! so NOW we're almost going on a week! in the midst of all of this - the check comes back reading "undeliverable address" - amazingly enough - about 2 days after my initial complaint! which tells me either - this has happened to other people because ohio savings has carlessly provided a BAD ADDRESS online - OR that somehow, a bank of this size is incapable of having mail forwarded to the CORRECT ADDRESS. either way - yet again - poor POOR - VERY POOR service and yet again, i'm waiting for ohio savings to step up and fix their mistake.
I've just spent 30 minutes on hold in the phone tree. Called the Headquarters to complain about the miserable service and have been put on hold also. What a disaster this bank has become. It should be closed down and out out of its misery. I will be closing all my accounts as soon as possible however it is almost impossible to reach a person at this bank. Now I'm back on hold again for ten more minutes where I started. Disgusting.
