I took my 2009 VW to Fairfax Station, VA store for putting 4 new tires. I saw the price on the website, and already I knew what I wanted. The clerk was pleasant enough, I thought. At the end, he told me there is a bad news. (I should have know that tactics! but it was too late.) He told me that I gave the wrong size tires (did he know? Is he a professional?), so the prices would be higher then originally quoted. I ended up paying $30 more on each tires. when I walked out of the store. The car drove fine, but the next day, I noticed the rims were not mine. My rims were newer, cleaner and no scratches, also my rim surface has powder coated painting (I've got the photos to compare). The one they put on are dirty, also have lots of scratches, plus it does not have power-coated painting on them. When I complained on phone, he told me they put the right ones, and I must be misunderstanding. He would not offer to help me, either. What a dishonest business they are running? Why do they get away? I still plan to go back to the store and demand my rims back, but I have a heavy feeling that they make it very difficult for me to do that. I am extremely busy, and I don't have time to waste. I am very upset and I want my rims back. It affects the look of my car. It's such a shame to run business like that!
On 9-10-2012 I took my 2003 Mazda Protege 5 into your store located in Dunkirk, Maryland and feel like I was took to the bank. I went in telling your manager that I had a "battery light " that was coming on and need to get it checked out. I droped the car off at 10:00 am that morning. I was called by the mechanic to come to the maintenance area for him to explain what was causing the problem. He stated that the "alternator" was failing and needed to be replaced. He also explained that a bolt was missing that was used in the adjustment of the belts. He said he could probably find one and replace it. I taalked to the manager and asked them if it was going to take a few more hours. He stated yes , so I had my son pick me up. I stated to the manager jokenly " as long as it doesnt cost me a million dollars, please fix it. When I came to pick up my car the bill was very much over priced so I thought. I never received a call saying that I needed a "Valve P/S Flush Kit $129.99" to as well when they did the alternator change? ( I call the Mr. Tire Stock in Mechanicsville, Maryland and statd that I certainly didn't need that done?) All I could say is WOW... I checked the average cost of an alternator change for my car in ths area and the internet says about $450.00 and that also what Mr. Tire in Mechanicsville stated. My Cost with labor for alternate change was $505.80. I said ok I was cool with that. The mechanic had to replace a bolt costing $14.99 which was used to tighten the belts. That was ok with me. Ok here something I really do not understand this charde. There was an "ADDITIONAL" labor charge. $150.80???? The manager at this store is very unprofessional with dealing with customers. He hurryed up to get the invoice printed, signed, and not explain the charges at all. Not a good practice. The total on the bill was $850.70. I was Ripped off by Mr. Tire.. I was a loyal customer...

This was a letter I am sending after my experience at Mr Tire I am writing to you as a first time customer of Mr. Tire. I just recently moved to the Jenkintown/Abington location and was looking for a place to bring my car for an oil change that also had Saturday hours. I scheduled my appointment online for the oil change, and I also wanted them to look at my check engine light. When the manager of the store (#672) returned my call to confirm the appointment, I was informed that there were would be a charge of $110 just to see what the check engine light was on for. Not even including fixing what was then wrong with it. I can take my car to Advance Auto and have them check the lights for free!! So I declined that service and said to just do the oil change. I brought my car in on that Saturday July 7th, 2012 where I was talked into getting the higher mileage oil change, also that the tires would be rotated free of charge but then I had to pay extra to have them balanced. I therefore said just rotate them if you have to, but don't balance them. I am a single mother of two kids, and every penny counts. I had only put aside enough money for their basic oil change. While waiting for my car to be done, I was informed that I needed a power steering flush which would cost about $120, as well as my front right headlight was out (which I was aware of) and the cost to replace that would be around $50. I declined both suggestions. The bulb itself only costs 10.99 in the store, and takes about 5 mins to put on- why is there such a blatant over charge for parts and labor????? When my car was finished, I paid for the high mileage oil change and went on my way. I noticed a funny smell when I got into my car, but just assumed it was from being in the shop and being worked on. Smell eve
i took my van to mr tire in clinton md because it wouldnt start after they put it on the machine and looked at it they told me it needed $1350 worth of work which i already knew was false they put a distributor on my van and a cam sensor i got my own part from advanced auto which they delivered to the shop and i paid cash the tech that was working on my van could not get the part on the van properly it took two days to get the part on and working because another tech that was on vacation came back and helped him ok they told me i could come get it the work was finished i got my van i paid got my van and pulled off my van would not go over 25mph than shut off i look at my receipt and it stated that i turned down work that i have proof that i got done and my van was over heating which i didnt have a problem with at first i when i got it back to the shop a tech told me he is glad that its not his pockets i am really hurt by this i work out of my van and loss two customers cause of this shop i dont understand how they could get away with doing this to people i dont have the money to get this fixed now and the new problems was not on the first diagnostic p.s i didnt even get a mile away from the shop before it broke down these guys are crooks
I went to Mr. Tire in Pickerington, OH on Refugee Road and spoke to the manager I had a slow leak in one of my tires and they were just a little over a year old with plenty of tread on them. I understand that you must replace a tire if a leak is within a certain location and also the on the side wall of a tire that it must be replaced. My question to the manager was the location and why it could not be patched or plugged. I told him at the time I did not have the money to replace the tires, but I had him to look at my exhaust system as well I was hearing a noise. He was helpful in taking me out and showing me the hole in the flex pipe, but then he gave me the costs to fix it. I took him at his word and thought he was out to help me since I had stated since he was so helpful that I would get tires from him when I had the money, but then I just started thinking about the pressure he was putting on me to sell me tires and so after getting the quote to fix the flex pipe I was informed it would be $200+. I went to the parts place NAPA and got a cost to for the flex pipe. So for months I was left with the understanding and worry that I was going to have to get new tires for the front end of my car, plus the additional money for the flex pipe. So I have been saving up to get tires a set ($450) and decided I would get 2 at a time and that is still a lot of money. Well, after months of having the tire aired up, the tire finally got to the point it would not hold air (in a leak that 4 different tire locations had trouble even locating the leak) I just happened to stop by a local service station within a couple of miles from home and after 6 months of worry daily due to this mans lies, lack of integrity and no character I got my tire plugged up for $9.50 and also was given a name of muffler shop that fixed my flex price for less than half of what he wanted to charge me. Now something ain't right with that. So I just want every one in the area to know this company is run by crooks and liars.
Dear Mr. Tire in Lansdale PA, I was a valued customer when you were Vespia for many years. Unfortunately after my last experience with Mr Tire I will not be returning. I was quoted for an oil filter, tire rotation, coolant flush, and timing belt. I have had the work done in the past on my other vehicle. They preceded to give me a quote for the work and it seemed reasonable so we decided to go with someone we trusted and not shop around for another quote. We dropped the car off and the work was to be done. Then we received a call by the shop manager saying the mechanic that does timing belts had injured himself and we would have to wait and reschedule for the service. Then we received a second call stating that there was something wrong and to call. When we called the shop they informed us that the timing belt could not be done because they do not have a mechanic that can do that work. So know i have been told two lie's the gentleman explained that the service should not have included the timing belt work since they have never had someone that can do that work. Then why would I ever take my care to you to have all the other work done, which took up a whole day and then know have to find someone to complete the work. I HAVE NEVER BEEN MORE DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS GARAGE IN THE 5 YEARS I HAVE BEEN BRINGING MY CAR THERE! I will not be returning and will not recommend Mr. Tire to anyone, ever!
WHEN ARE YOU PEOPLE GONNA GET IT !!! MOST ALL TIRE CHAINS ARE COMMISIONED BASED WITH A SMALL REWARD FOR YOUR TIME !! BUT YOU GOTTA SELL SOMETHING OR ELSE THATS WHY YOUR ALWAYS GONNA SEE NEW FACES!!! MR TIRE RUINED THE STORE IN KING OF PRUSSIA PA AND NOW THEY ARE NO MORE!!! PEOPLE WORKED AT THAT STORE 20 PLUS YEARS WHEN MR TIRE TOOK OVER AND LET ALL THE KEY PEOPLE GO AND WALLA INTO THE COMMODE THEY GO. WHY ANYONE WOULD GO TO TIRE CHAINS WITH GIMMICK PRICEING ALWAYS BOGGOLED ME ,, YES TIMES ARE TOUGH AND MONEY TIGHT AND YOU GOTTA DO WHAT YOU HAVE TO BUT REMEMBER ITS TO GET YOU IN THE DOOR AND YOU KNOW THE REST!!!!!MOST PEOPLE WILL ALWAYS GO FOR THE CHEAP PRICES.. IT'S TO KEEP THE BAYS FILL WITH THE CHANCE OF SELLING SOMEING ON 1 OUT OF TEN CARS,, SERVICE WILL ALWAYS BE RECOMMEND BY MILAGE AND THERES NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT, BUT REMEMBER KEEP GOING FROM SHOP TO SHOP AND YOUR GONNA HERE THAT OVER AND OVER.. NO ONES FAULT BUT YOURS WHEN SOMEONE CALLS MY SHOP I HAVE NO GIMMICK PRICEING MY STATE INS AND EMMISION ARE FULL PRICE WITH NOTHING BUT HONISTY.. AND I WILL ALWAYS WORK WITH YOU 35 YEARS AND I KNOW WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT
I recently took my 2009 car for an inspection and was told my breaks and rotors all around needed to be replaced for 6 to 7 hundred dollars. i decided to get a second opinion, so of course they did not pass my inspection. We decided to change the front breaks and rotors even though they were fine and could have passes inspection. But when we went to change the rear we found them to be in top shape and noticed that the tires were never even removed for Mr Tire mechanics to determine they could not pass inspection. My mechanic called Mr Tire and told them the findings, they decided to be rude and hanged up on my mechanic. I called back and asked what they would need to show my rear breaks were fine and they said nothing, that they needed to be replace. I took the car to PepBoys to get the breaks checked and they told me they were fine, so they inspected it and passes it. I can not believe that MR Tire employees are only in to rip you off specially if they see a woman coming in. I was a loyal customer for over 6 years but this has done, i do not even want to think about all the money i wasted these past years in services i did not need and that they probably never performed. DO NOT GO TO MR TIRE IN BROOMALL unless you want to be ripped off.
I have been a loyal customer at mr. tire newcastle De. brought my car in and had employees trying to take me out on a date i said no ur old enough to be my son.Very unprofessional!!!!!!!!!!!!! They lied to me about my vehicle and i spent 438 dollars for nothing my car sounds like a jet plane now. Don't recommend anyone to get their car fixed there! Will never go back even for tires!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wish you would teach your employees manners and to stop lying to the customers!Your going to lose alot of busness!
Reading the reviews above...I have to say that I have done business with Mr. Tire in Buffalo, NY (Harlem & Millersport) for several years. Used to get pretty good service...now a bunch of young smart=mouthed burglars have taken over the business...charge $110 for "diagnosis" and then do nothing..took my car in about two months ago when the "check engine" light went on...diagnosis was made...but nothing corrected. Still light eventually went out by itself. Same thing happened today...burglars wanted to do another "diagnosis" for #110.00. When I asked why the same thing was happening after my last #110. visit, I was told they couldn't tell me without a diagnosis. I paid for one...they said it "might be my muffler". I left and when I got on the street...the car sounded like a motorboat. Went back and they just told me "it might be my muffler." These are new, young guys and seem to be totally inadequate. STAY AWAY FROM MR. TIRE IN BUFFALO!!!!!!!!!
I have been a good customer with Mr. Tire on Millersport & Harlem in Buffalo, NY for several years. A few months ago, my "check engine" light came on in my '03 Toyota Corolla (I take good care of it)...I took it in to Mr. Tire and they charged me $159 for "diagnosis" and gave me a projected bill of several hundred for whatever ... the check engine light went off and that was as far as I went. This week the "check engine" light came on again...took it back to Mr. Tire at same location...all new staff (young guys) They had a copy of the last time but would not work with it..a new diagnosis would have to be made. I asked why they could not just refer to the other "diagnosis"...but no..they would make another one and only charge me $60.00. End result? Light is still on and car now sounds like a motorcycle!!!! When I complained, I was treated to a very rude remark that they were only charging me "half price." As I got absolutely nothing for the "half price", I did mouth off...but you are losing a lot of customers at that location because I have seen several complaints on the web. If you follow their lead, you won't care. I will never be back.
Took my new SUV (under 8000 miles) to the Hamburg location for an oil change. They told me I need a transmission flush. Took it to my dealer and they told me that in no way did I need that work done. I thought maybe they made a mistake untill I took my second car, 2007, for an engine light problem. Basically they did a tune up for almost $500 and the car still doesn't work right. All the time they were BS me. My advise never ever take your car to this place. I learned my lesson and will be sure to spread the word.
They won't take responsibility for the mess they made! Mr tire in Pasadena Md. I always go to them for alignment. A month ago, After I got four new wheel, done balance, I thought it'd nice to do aligent too. Scheduled and paid 98 to get it done; drove out of the door and the rear wheels felt shaky. I didn't care about it then but after a while the wheels shake more and more. I knew there's problem with alignment because my rear wheels wore off at a much faster rate then my front wheels and it's uneven wear. I called then and took it in. As soon as I told then that my new wheels are wearing off and the alignment is not right; they started denying that it's their problem. Keep telling me that alignment don't cause shaking. Fact is Bad alignment does cause vibration when two wheels pull at each other! And I showed him the uneven wear of my rear wheels and he told me" it's an old tire"! I got four new tires two days before I turned My car in for alignment! I told him I can get the prove from the tire shop that all my tres were new. And I only put 1000 miles on them since I did the alignment. He keep telling me that the shaking is caused by the old tires.....I am so mad and dissapointed. He agreed to "check" for me, but only call me ten minutes later to tell me it wasn't there problem. Won't tell me why my car is like that only to say its not alignment! I doubt he even did check for me. Be warned! I knew some good crews from mr tire but their stuffs in Pasadena are horrible. Bad customer service and bad attitude.
Mr. Tire employees in Fairfax, VA were very unprofessional and I was told I would have to pay $1,700.00 plus dollars for Dif Trnscase, 2 tires, cv shaft, valve cover gasket, wheel alignment. I took my car there approximately 8:30am and at 6:45pm it was on a lift to be worked on and the mechanic told me the manager went to purchase my 2 tires. I authorized them to fix the leak and they did a botched up job, they were working on about 3 different cars at the time and helping one mechanic who looked like he was 17 years old. I honestly don't think they were authorized mechanics and knew what they were doing they looked like parking lot mechanics. That was my first time visiting Mr. Tire and it will certainly be my last. I ordered them to take my car off the lift after putting the tires on the car and it was recommened by my co-workers to ask for every part they took off. Fortunate for me they didn't do all the work but they were suppose to fix the leak and they charged me for the work, but didn't do the job. I took my car to my mechanic and he said they didn't fix the leak because the Tranmittion fluid was everywhere. They economy is bad and people can't afford ripp-offs. You seriously need to hire people who are qualified and especially in our area where the traffic is major stressful and very dangerous! GET BETTER PEOPLE AND GET RID OF THE PEOPLE WHO DON'T KNOW THEIR JOBS!!!! AND STOP RIPPING PEOPLE OFF!!!!
Mt. Airy, MD store #765. I went in for an alignment on a car that had adjustable control arms. Was charged double $167. I was told it MAY cost extra...since when is a camber kit not part of making an alignment easier. So Rich, the angry manager, refunds half my money so I pay regular price. The whole time Rich is doing this he yells at me, tells me I'm wrong about 12 times, tells me how angry he is at me about 6 times, mocks me and says I should make my own prices from now on. So I guess the customer is always right means nothing to Mr. Tire. Very displeased, told all my family and friends to never step foot in Mr. Tire (Irish catholic-huge family lots of friends).
I took my car to Mr. Tire for the first time for an oil change and tire rotation. I told them that I was tired of my old service because it was so hard to get an appointment. Now, I wish I would have waited. I waited an hour for my oil change only to be told that they had "BAD NEWS" about my car. The work it needed would be over $1800 and it probably wouldn't last a few more days before the car died. I paid for the oil change and immediately took it to my dealer. He shook his head in anger when he told me there was very little wrong with my car. He charged me $100 for a complete diagnostic test on my car. He said that people like those at Mr. Tire make the whole industry look bad. I have learned my lesson though. I will NOT take my car in for service simply because the company is closer to home. I am truly blown away by the service (or lack of) at Mr. Tire in Columbus, OH. Sounds like I should have read these reviews first. Live and Learn
Mr Tire had my car for repairs and let it fall off the lift. Now it is totaled. I would never take my car to Mr Tire in Bel Air at the Festival.
