I am of the belief that a Cancer Barbie would be a big hit. If it is advertised that a percentage of all Cancer Barbie sales would be donated to the American Cancer Society, and perhaps Mattel could donate Cancer Barbies to various hospitals here in the United States as well as in Canada. If the Cancer Barbie had a shirt that resembled those given out as donations by the American Cancer Society for participating in their walk / run events, a pair of jeans, sneakers, and if the doll is made bald, three or four wigs would be a hit with parents who have to explain how and why chemotherapy is so important, yet completely life altering. A small port in the arm of Cancer Barbie along with a small saline solution bag on a stand with some plastic tubing that would fit into Cancer Barie's arm port would complete the toy's packaging.Mattel could boldly place the idea and percentageof each doll's donation to The American Cancer Society, and could emblazon the packaging with "Mattel Cares" promotions. Please consider this idea as it is meritorious on several fronts,; the donation aspect, the retail bottom line aspect, the public good will aspect, and, most importantly, each little girl who is now losing her hair, being sick of being poked and prodded, is suffering from nausea, is alone at night in a strange hospital bed where she knows Mommy and Daddy can't be with her all the time, and is scared and is wondering why this has to happened to her. I am a two time cancer surviver. The episodes were twenty years apart and I was an adult even the first time. I have spent a lot of time in oncology wards, and in one of the hospitals the adult's and the children's wards were separated by a hospitol double door. I got to see these brave, hurting, sad children each day. I even had a little friend I'd stop by and say hi to as I did my daily exercise of walking with my solution holder. She had a Barbie. Then, one day on my walk, I passed my little friend's room. She had passed away the previous night.
I think it would be a wonderful Idea to make dolls with dissabilities !! It would help Children to relize that we are all not born perfect, but are beautiful in our own way. I am talking about dolls with downs, missing limbs, Cancer! The issues that we see every day!they would be taught in a early age not to make fun, that this is a normal thing that happens. Please let me know your thoughts on this. Thank you, Lorrie Summers.
I agree with the previous posts about a barbie with no hair and scarf. There are all types of barbies out there showing kids that they can be anything they want to, but what about the girls that have cancer and feel different. Let show them that they too are beautiful.
I have seen the post asking for Mattel to make a Barbie with no hair so that every little girl fighting cancer feels beautiful!! Put her in pink, name her HOPE and send the proceeds to St. Jude. I agree this would be a great idea for both little girls battling this disease and children watching their sweet Moms battling this disease.
Mattel should make a Barbie with no hair, so that every little girl fighting cancer feels beautiful!! Put her in pink, name her HOPE and send the proceeds to St. Jude Children's Foundation. There are many little girls who are in this situation and would love to have a Barbie that they can relate to. Please consider this concept? Thank you....
They should make a Barbie with no hair so every little girl fighting cancer can feel beautiful. That comes with a head scarf and donates the proceeds to the cancer foundation
I have a unique idea...i think you need to make a bald girl barbie and give her a scarf on her head and name her Hope...this would be a fantastic way to uplift and brighten little girls with cancer...barbie has always has this gorgeous hair and if you made one bald then the little girls around this country with cancer could have a special doll to identify with...i also think it would be a great promo item maybe and donate part or all of the proceeds to american cancer society..i hope you pick up this idea bc i know collectors and children of all ages would buy...maybe introduce her during cancer awareness month!
I love the new Tattoo Barbie. Ink used to be a sign of rebellion and associated with the fringes of society. Today, in the younger people, it is seen as a sign of individuality, but also of belonging to that generation. It is ubiquitous (at least for the foreseeable future). Congratulations on making a new doll that is relevant to where the kids are at in their journey at this time in history.
While I understand the impetus for creating Burqa Barbie - to give young Moslem girls a pretty and positive doll that is in line with their culture - I have to say that I do find it disturbing in many ways. I understand the people who are up in arms about her, in the same way as the ones who find the tattooed Barbie out of line. These dolls challenge the traditional role of Barbie as an American Icon. However, they should also remember that Barbie has pushed the envelope within the American lexicon as well. This post is probably not necessary, but I wanted you to know that there are some middle of the road Americans here who applaud the idea of expanding Barbie's world to be inclusive. Just be sure that the worlds and cultures you include promote positive female roles in their society and don't help denigrate women within their culture. Just a thought.
I loved the quality and style of the Silkstone Lingerie Barbie line and am heartbroken that Mattel chose to discontinue it because of small minded, uptight people who can't comprehend the idea of 'adult collectors'. BTW, I'm a 54 year old grandmother living in the Bible Belt if you're wondering if the dolls had universal appeal. I hope you'll reconsider and bring the line back. I would also LOVE to see silkstones that are jointed and poseable. The Silkstones are amazing, but could be magnitudes better with just that one change. Thank you for having this place where we can contact you with our concerns and requests.
Mattel! I just want you to know that the Tattoo Barbie is a disturbing message you are sending to young impressionable girls! Wow, what you would do for the mighty dollar is shocking! I have a little daughter and I would never want her to walk around with TRAMP STAMPS nor her dolls!
I find the "Burqa Barbie" highly offensive - Barbie is supposed to be the carefree, popular, all American icon, not an oppressed woman of no opinion hiding under a tent. If you think I'm buying anymore of your toys, you're sadly mistaken (and I don't care how many of my doll collections will have to stay uncompleted) I'm boycotting.
I want Mattel to stop making and distributing the Moslem Barbie. Is money that important to Mattel that the company would put money before values? You are now changing what Barbie stands for and you are telling little kids that the moslem values are legitimate. Is pedophilia legitimate? is polygamy legitimate? is stoning legitimate? is genital mutilation legitimate? Is treating women worse that one's animal legitimate? Is honor killing legitimate? is terrorism legitimate? Mattel, you may be thinking moslems are going to take over everywhere and so in you greed you want to make some money, but what you are really going to make, is many parents angry enough to boycott you forever! Oh and about the moslems taking over, IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN!
Your Burka Barbie is utterly ridiculous!!! How dare you take an American icon and ruin it with this filth??????? American women are happy and free, not opressed and covered up in clothing from head to toe. Shame on you Mattel and how sad that you ruined Barbie!!!!!!!!
The moslem Barbie is an affront and an insult to women everywhere! It goes against everything that Barbie stands for which is free thinking and a strong can do attitude. Please discontinue or stand in the shadow of dhimmitude and islam sucking up...plus there will be MUCH boycotting. MUCH BOYCOTTING!
Dear sirs: I am am avid fan of Star Trek. I have seen all the movies in the theaters. I began collecting the Hot Wheels Star Ships that Mattel produces. I have the Enterprise NX-01,USS Enterprise 1701-D,Klingon Bird of Prey HMS Bounty,Klingon Bird of Prey,USS Saratoga NCC-1867,USS Reliant NCC-1864,USS Enterprise NCC-1701Original,USS Enterprise NCC-1701 Refit, and USS Enterprise NCC-1701-A. There seems to be a problem with the Enterprise Refit and the Enterprise-A. First of all the Refit and the 1701-A have the same product number which is P8511 why? Second is the alleged history of the Refit written on the box which states The USS Enterprise NCC-1701 Refit was commanded by the legendary Captain James T Kirk. The ship was put into service in 2286 following the destruction in 2285 of the original USS Enterprise-1701 in the Mutara Sector at the site of the unstable Genesis Planet. This is not correct. The Refit of the Enterprise was in Star Trek The Motion Picture,Star Trek-2 The Wrath of Khan, and Star Trek-3 Search for Spok. In Star Trek-3 the Refit modle was destroyed by Captain Kirk by initiating the self destruct sequence. Kirk and crew the comendier the Bird of Prey and land on Viulcan with Spok and his cotra. In Star Trek-4 Kirk was given command of the Enterprise-A
I agree it would be totally be awsome the monster high school w/1000 pecies ,teachers & lockers . dolls houses like frankie stien`s house dractulaura`s house clawdeen wolf`s house &the rest of them the houses closets extra doll clothes and shoes. I am 11 years old and these are great dolls. Hope to hear from you.
I love Monster High dolls and have a few ideas for new Monstter High toys. They include a bedtime Monster High doll sets which could include eye masks, freak time stories, pjs and stuffed animals, slippers and bedding. Also a Monster High school playset and a mosnter high teacher doll. I also think Monster High dolls with a barbeque theme ould be nice and also furniture and other accessories. Such as a bedroom for Draculaura with a coffin for a bed and cherry pink colored accessories. Lockers would also be great. I am nine years old and these are great dolls. Hope to hear from you.
dear sirs, we are writing in regards to your little girls dress up shoes. My granddaughter is 6 years old and still likes to play dress up. you don't make shoe big enough for her to play dress up. she is quite frustrated and mad that your shoe no longer give her pleasure. i would like for you to consider making larger dress up shoes. thank you for listening to our problem! respectfully yours becky hackney
