DO NOT PAY THESE PEOPLE IN ADVANCE AS I DID! They refuse to close my account and refund my $73.00+. This number was transferred to Consumer Cellular back in August and the keep sending me bills and each time I call I get a different reply. They say the account was never closed when it was and confirmed by a supervisor on August 9 when the number was transferred and confirmed by Consumer Cellular. They are nothing more than a bunch of thieves! They should be punished for ripping off senior citizens (let alone anyone else). Where is the Better Business Bureau and why aren't they doing anything about this stuff?

Hi Neil!I hope it didn't come across as not linikg the job in the corporation, as that couldn't be farther from the truth. And I do agree that the procedures in place in a corporation absolutely need to be there. I don't believe that they are pointless at all. Changes need to go through multiple departments because they often directly influence many different areas in the company. A ton of work has gone into into finding the best and most efficient ways to do things. Ultimately, each successful company ends up there because it has to- it's just that in a startup you come in a lot earlier in the process.Ultimately, I think that neither environment is right for everyone. In a corporation, you have the opportunity to help refine and correct things, and initiative is still very valuable. In a startup, while I like most of the differences outlined above, they're also scary.Thanks so much for your awesome comment! Good discussion

Jitterbug is a terrible company to deal with. I opened an account for my mother with Alzheimers. Once she was no longer able to use the phone or speak, I requested the account be cancelled. The Jitterbug respresentative told me I had a hundred free minutes left on the account and I could give the phone away if I wanted. I said I would think about it. An account service respresentative called me back on a Saturday in July and left a message about the phone. I didn't call back, assuming the account would be cancelle. However, they continued to bill me. Twice I have complained to customer service and they say that I needed to confirm -- twice that I wanted the service cancelled and continue to bill me. I do not recommend Jitterbug to anyone unless they want to sit on hold and argue with robotron customer service representatives.
