We purchased/ordered a 31ft. Sierra 2013 Travel Trailer. After we specifically ordered it, the flooring came to us wrong, a door panel was scratched, the wrong blind was installed, the backrest for the kitchen table was cut to long so there was a bow in it. The problems have been getting solved through the dealer. But why should the dealer have to compensate for the poor craftsmanship of Forest River? The travel trailer should have never made it's final inspection but they had our money and they didn't care. They need to take pride in their work!!! We will NEVER again purchase.
The hot water heater does not stay on. The dealer where I bought the trailer said I have to come to them for service. There is NO ONe who can come out and look at this? I packed up (missed a day's work since they don't work Saturday) and when I got there -- they said "no problem -- easy fix" Water heater worked for one day after I got back and set up everything again. I have now contacted a service tech who does not work under the warranty to come out and fix it. He will be here in two days. Thanks a lot -- your sales are convincing -- your service sucks -- BIG TIME
Bought a 2012 Sierra on April 23, 2012. Had it in the shop to replace a faulty slide motor the 2nd time we used it. It took them 2 weeks to fix it! We missed a long-planned Memorial Day fishing trip because of it. The dealer seemed unconcerned and would not return our calls. We picked it up last Friday, took it for the weekend and again, the same slide will not retract! To top it all off, the 2 A/C's don't cool it off. We have been miserable! Should have stayed with our '86 Alpenlite! Since we've only made one payment on it, weare very disappointed and don't know where we stand as far as our rights as consumers. Would like to take it back to the dealership and tell them to stick it! This should be illegal! I call for a class action suit against Forest River. Disappointed in Texas.
We bought a brand new 42 foot Wildwood camper on 05/14/2012, on May 18, 2012 they delivered the camper. On May 24, 2012, Bullyans came to fix a leak under the sink, hot water heater. On May 27, 2012, the entire camper flooded. Bullyans wants nothing to do with it and now dealing with Forest River directly what a nightmare. Never would recommend any product of theirs.
Forest River should be served with a class action law suit. When I purchased my Surveyor I was sold on the concept that these trailers are made of solid wood, fiberglass and aluminum; thus a very strong, long lasting, and dependable unit. The first time using it with my family we had a water line break. This should not of happened. However, it was an easy fix because in my profession I am required to understand the mechanics and workings of simple and elaborate systems. The real problem came a month later when I noticed a discoloration in the floor. I then returned to the dealership to have them fix it, and was told that the water leak had discolored the floor. They said they saw this problem a lot, but could not fix it because the floor was not linoleum, but instead a thin vinyl veneer. A few months later, I noticed it getting worse and found out that the problem was not from the initial water line break, but was a devastating enginering flaw. Water was getting in from the outside and was trapped in from a moisture barrier that is supposed to keep water out. Forest River's response was that it would cost as much to fix this as what the trailer is worth. They did not respond to any of my follow up calls.I then researched the internet and found that I was not the only one who had encountered the same problem, and many others had experienced the same exact thing. This should not be allowed. The engineering flaws seem to be deliberate in order to create throw away units. I can fix it right, but I probably won't spend the time and money, and I shouldn't have to!
special ordered a new trailer, dealer promised by April 16th, corporate supposedly told them came off the line on the 15th of April. Has still not been delivered a month later. Seems once they get your money don't care anymore
We are looking for an owners manual for a 05 Sunseeker. We are happy with it we just need an owners manual. Bought it used last year.
Purchased a 2012 wildcat Sterling April of last year. We've had nothing but problems with it since we bought it. The first trip the trap would not shut on the water tank, piece of wood behind the wall from when they built it. Also had problems with the shower leaking. 2nd time back was for blinds falling down, drawers not staying shut, and tankless water heater not giving us hot water. 3rd time was due to slide jumping off track when the slideout was coming in. 4th time was for water heater and drawers still not staying shut. They don't want to fix the problem with no hot water because they say it works. You have two choices with the tankless water heater. You either have warm water, or water pressure, can't get them both. I've looked on line and many people or frustrated with the tankless water heater but they don't want to fix it. My dealer said they know they have problems but they don't want to recall because it's not a safety issue. I would never buy another Wildcat or tell anyone to buy one. We get plenty of comments on the Sterling but I will surely let them know that once you buy a Wildcat and they have your money they are done with you.
We bought a new 39ft. at Susquehanna Valley RV in Bloomsburg Pa.Told them right away about problems we were having the salesman said fix it yourself. Go to Selinsgrove they tell us the salesman quit. They take the two pages of problems say it will be fixed. Go out over month ago tell the ready to open camper they will call again. Nobody calls. Go out again salesman laughed when telling he. Talk to the salesman that talked to us in 2011. Serviceman came fixed on thing so the water could be turned on because garden shower fell out all by itself. repairman said thats all he was told to fix and laughed. So here we go again another camping season looking and dealing with the same shit. For as much as you pay for something that is new.
We drove 700 miles to purchase a surveyor 240 from columbus ga camper sales. This dealership is very dishonest and does not give any orientation to FIRST TIME BUYERS! Because of our inexperience and their lack of orientation we almost lost a tire due to loose lug nuts that were not tightened and we were not advised to check them. Also had many customer service issues. BEWARE COLUMBUS, GA. CAMPER SALES.
There should be a below zero rating for customer service. We have had our pm not long and had nothing but trouble two many issues to name with it & nobody at f r cares to help we spend all this money on these trailers to get such bad service. They care only about selling rvs. Never again do I want anybody to go through what we are going through so I hope this helps the people out there looking to buy anything from forest river.
We have a 2009 silverback 5Th wheel that we bought new. We had it back to the factory in Indiana in 2010 for some repairs concerning the front end flexing and other items. This past year we discovered that the front end was flexing a lot more. I talked to Dale at the factory and he was very helpful to get the problem fixed. Dale has since retired and Kevin has assumed his position. I recently took the unit back to the factory and they totally fixed the problem along with numerous other problems. The camper is essentially new now. My hats off to Kevin and the crew at the factory for the great work and standing behind their product. They went above and beyond to make it right. Thanks Dan
Currently have a Puma 20QB 2010 however needs changed to a toy hauler, I'm about to get mobility scooter from VA. Wish too obtain a Wolf Pup 17RR; any comments? Anyone wish to buy Puma, only been on 3 trips, stove & oven never used.
Where to begin w/this Forest River nightmare! Dec 2010 we purchased a brand new 2011 Forest River Surveyor...bad decision! First trip out water heater didnt work, continuous issues w/outside panel door being blown off as it tried to ignite. Propane didnt work either. Same trip we nearly flooded the rv because the plumbing on the sinks werent tightened. Hot water heater didnt work with euther option. Lazy Days has had this over the last yr more than we have. Ladder pulled away from rv, blackwater tank replaced, sensors on water tank levels, stereo replaced, awning is on rv incorrectly and they wont repair. Frig has gone out as well as electrical. Leak in roof around skylite in bathroom, slide out separated from floor, door latches have both broken and then locks didnt match up to actually lock. Now after reading this who would wanna own a Forest River?? Did I forget to mention they never return phone calls when theres an issue. Quality doesnt exist neithet does craftsmanship. Trash! Trash! Trash! Ready to get rid of it.
Paid CASH for 37 1/2 ft 2010 3150 Cardnial, wish we had our cash back. Very disapointed, will not never buy another Forest River product nor recomend their products to anyone. The camper is on its way back to the dealer for the 4th time; each time for electrical issues. The last time we were awakein in the middle of the night, camper full of smoke, the main breaker was not connected correctly when manufactured. Furst and Last Forest River pruchase.
I brought my 30ft fifthwheel in 2008 and I have same thing. There were things that were not put together correctly, draws won't stay closed, I have delammanation on the outside which i am told is not covered, which don't know why clearly this is a manufacturer defect. This was my first time camping thought I would buy something great and turned out to be a nightmare.
We bought a 2011 Forest River 355 QBQ - Sandpiper fifth wheel ; just about a year ago and it has been nothing but a nightmare -- has spent as much time in the repair shop as it has on a campsite. We did research and everything said that this was the top of the line / high end ... the only thing high end was the price! Our dealership has been great to deal with (Camper City off of Friendship Road in Buford ,Ga (campercityga.com) -- but the quality of the camper leaves alot to be desired - would never ever purchase another of this brand -- such a disappointment.
As a side note to the above comment today I winterized the trailer. The drain tube for the refrigerator was so crystalized already on a one year old trailer that water came in under the refrigerator instead of outside. More poor quality! I should be writing a book instead of these comments.
I purchased a 2010 Forest River Sierra and have had nothing but problems. Along with being poorly built I got a dealer that looks fantastic until it was time for service. They tried but just did not have the know how. Eventualy you get tired of asking for help. (NOBLES RV Owatonna, MN) I had electrical problems that I had to get an electrician to figure out. Water heater was wired wrong at factory and dealer could not figure out. Water issues and leaking issues. Now three of their cheap plastic hub caps have fallen off during travel. Piece off crap!
If I had read the contents of this site before buying my 2013 XLR I wouldn't have. I now have all the wiring for the trailer on the front main support where they used a sawsall to cut away the cover and leave the wiring exposed for the tires to pick up road debris and throw it into the electrical connection terminals. Forest Rivers answer is we make them all this way and we do not have a problem. Ya of course they won't they only have the 1 year warrenty it's after the firts year I will have the issue. The units are made to last 1 year!! Thats it!! And it sounds like they don't make it that long. Looks like my issues are just starting, i'm screwed.
