I am writing because I had the best trip in my entire life, and I had my doubts that it would go well at all. We went to DisneyWorld a couple of weeks ago (we are from Toronto, Canada). Myself, my mom, my 5 year old nephew and my 4 year old autistic son. Because of my son's condition, he can't wait in long line ups, gets frustrated, impatient and can't stand for long periods of time. Guest services gave us a pass to shorten our wait times and allowed us a wheelchair pass so he could wait while sitting down. What an absolute blessing. Thanks to you kind people we enjoyed the ENTIRE day. No meltdowns, no tears, no regrets at all. We had the time of our lives. We are already talking about coming back again... and again. Because of my son's situation, I am very in tune/sensitive/aware of places that will affect him negatively. Even if he wasn't autistic and my children had to wait in line ups 45-60 minutes long, I am sure that patience would be wearing thin. I guarantee you that people wouldn't mind paying a higher admission price to make the visit more enjoyable while waiting in line. Waiting in line an hour for each character they want to meet is insane! Why not plant characters in every single ride line up? They can sign autographs, photos, even entertain while waiting in the gruling lineups. Another idea is to have someone walking around in the lineups with cold drinks/snacks, line the waiting areas with benches for people to get off their feet, have a few tv's or something for kids to hone in on, or someone vamping the crowd with trivia questions / prizes... I noticed the Honey Pot ride had some neat heat-sensory walls in the line up... things like that are good too. Anyway... just a thought of mine. Thanks for the wonderful stay. We will be back.
I came into Florida for the Conference for young adult breast cancer survivors a couple of weeks ago and because I had been through several weeks of extreme sickness from chemotherapy, I decided to invite my son who has been my primary caregiver while applying for college to come along with me for a little break from all the stress. We had great expectations of being able to put our adversity on hold and return to our childhood at Magic Kingdom. We stayed at the Dolphin Resort and it was a nightmare! When we arrived, the room was not clean, the toilet was not working and the fridge was not cooling. We had used the pantry services at Guest Services by requesting milk, juices, sodas and waters. When the lady from Guest Services delivered the drinks, she explained that the fridge was not working and she slapped it to make it start running...then asked me to watch it and call if it stopped again. We were out of the room and when we returned, the fridge had stopped running and the drinks were warm. When I called Guest Services to request a new fridge and fresh drinks, they were rude and told me to place the drinks on ice. My thoughts were, are we at a RV camp? We finally were successful in receiving a new fridge but could not vet them to exchange our milk and juice. I was told to drink it and if it's spoiled, they would change them out. Then to top off the day after several more remarks and attitudes from the resort's employees, we went to bed and realized the sheets had not been changed. We called Guest Services and was unsuccessful in new sheets until the following day. We were forced to sleep on top of the bedspread. The following day, we were picked up in the Magic Express Bus where we had to stand for the ride to the park. Throughout the day, I had struggled with my leg as it was beginning to swell from a mixture of so much walking and chemotherapy leftovers. I stopped by the First Aid office at the park to request an ace bandage but the nurse wanted me to go to the ER. Fearing a blood clot, I did go where we spent six hours waiting for an ultrasound at Celebration Hospital. Once we returned to the resort, we were requesting a voucher for our driver (BTW, there are so many accidents at the parks that all resorts provide free transportation from the ER to the resports) and the resort front desk employee asked for my room key to check to see if it still worked since I had complained so much. We left the next day (leaving two days earlier than planned missing several of our itinerary plans). It was a horrible experience and Disney is not the happiest place on earth, I assure you!
i have visited and stay at disney resorts at least 35 times for over 150 nights or more. why does disney treat florida residents with so many perks. huge discounts on theme park tickets resort stays and dining. why do we who travel from outside the zone have to pay full prices. when i call for reservations i have to beg for a discout. i should get one after 35 plus visits and also a break on park tickets. disney should give back to the faithful who support and return often. like after 10 visit a free 3 night stay or a discount on park tickets. for what i have spent there this would be a small thank you. coffee shoppes here in ct. and ri. give you a free coffee after purchasing only 4 coffees a thank you for coming to their shoppe. many hotels reward their visitors with free nights after so many stays.i still enjoy disney but would like to see a little appreciation. thanks for this opportunity to exspress how i feel.
Keith, Disney has nothing to do with the "Best Western", even if it is with in the Downtown Disney area.
To who it may concern, It was my first experience at Walt Disney World with my family, and its ashame that we had to endure this horrible stay. I was advised many times that all hotels within the perimeter of Disney must meet the standards to experience the World where dreams come true. This hotel has ruined my families idea of what DISNEY WORLD EXPERIENCE SHOULD BE. We have stayed at many hotels and vacation at least three times a year. I stayed at the Best Western hotel 2000 Hotel Plaza Blvd , downtown Disney. BIG Mistake. I must give a thumbs up for the house keeper that cleaned my room she got a good tip from me. BUT the room is another story. Upon my entry to check in the front desk clerk could not say hello and welcome first. Instead I got "CAN I HELP YOU". My room was not ready till 3pm, THE ROOM had MOLD in the bathroom , the SAFE did not work, the TV reception was horrible, The AIR CONDITIONER unit thermostat ONLY WORKED ON ONE MODE EXTREMELY COLD, there was paint chipping off the wall, the TUB drain was clogged up, the TOILET was also not working if someone took a s--t in it unfortunately we had to flush once and return in a half hour to flush the leftover down and thats if it worked. THAT WAS EXTREMELY DISGUSTING. I KNOW THAT THIS HOTEL IS NOT A FIVE STAR AND I SEE WHY. THERE SHOULD BE A STANDARD YOUR HOTEL SHOULD MEET FOR ALL CUSTOMERS. SAD TO SAY WILL NEVER AT ANOTHER BEST WESTERN HOTEL. Please tell me that this not a common experience with your hotel company.
I can tell you disney customer service attitude is poor!!!! reservation problems. I dont even know where to begin!!!! I have been there 16 times. I can tell you service has went from excellent to poor! Cannot make changes to add meal plan price fixing to your room for passholders. you treat your repeat customers like dirt! I buy deluxe dining and I tip at california grill when the tip is 60.00. I give 120. The waiter knows us I have come so much and riccardo at the yachtsman and john. They look for us we tip so well. then you have john at cape may cafe and your lucky he serves you but he wants his 18 percent because we bring our own grand gather all of our kids. The buses are poor , poor , poor service six hours roundtrip for the yacht club! you better fix your reservation castmembers attitude or soon you will sea decline. I se the four times a year I come more and more people unhappy with the customer service cleanliness of the rooms. Walt is flipping over in his grave over the poor service and bad attitude disney now has. don't be fooled mr. skaggs they recarpeted the boat you took out this summer a couple of days before you came because it was a mess. A very nice informative young gentleman told us they have you executives fooled.yes we booked a cruise to watch fireworks also.I am spending big money to come four times a year and I am about to start taking my five kids and wife and their girlfriends somehwere else. 20,000 four times a year. yes you will lose my 80,000 a year. between our firework cruises and the amount of rooms ten people on a deluxe meal plan tips spending money etc , etc. corporate you need to look into whats going on!!! fix your problems!!!
To say I was upset would be an under statement. I loved the trip but someone at the Polynesian Resort has been using my credit card. I DID NOT USE MY CARD when visiting in August and yet BOTH my Master card and Amex were used. My MasterCard had $1800. plus charged out. I had to change both my credit cards because of this. Yes, I did show my Master Card when I checked in, but I NEVER USED IT. I used my Amex for photo pass when I got home. At the Ohana resturant a charge of 22.94 was credited when I paid CASH for that bar bill. I reported this to the desk the last day when I saw the bill and the gentlemen (I use the work loosely) said he would take care of it) After a wonderful vacation with my family this certainly puts a sour taste in my mouth. ALL THE CREDIT CARD CHARGES CAME FROM THE POLYNESIAN RESORT!! AGAIN, I NEVER USED A CHARGE CARD AT THE RESORT!!
I see you are advertising on TLC. TLC has now reached a new low with its program "Sister Wives." I have now seen two ads for this program. One ad makes it sound like this family is great and there is nothing wrong with bigamy (illegal in any state). And, the other ad makes it sound like they are trying to justify putting this show on the air, because the guy only does one of them at a time. How pathetic. As an advertiser on TLC, get ready for lots of letters. If I were you, I'd pull all of my advertising on TLC, the Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, and any media even remotely associated with "Sister Wives."
Extremely unimpressed with your reservation system, both website and in particular the 800 nos. Constantly, constantly busy, long waits, over an hour.
DON'T GO TO A THEME PARK! MUCH, MUCH BETTER THAN DISNEY WORLD Parents/Professionals - If you want to get away from family, kids, work, boss, neighborhood, in laws, just need a break somewhere quiet . . . . . there's a getaway that's not far away! Try the small fishing village of St. Marks, Florida instead: bike trail, canoes, kayaks, hiking, birding, boating, fishing, National Wildlife Refuge with Lighthouse, Wakulla Springs State Park where the original Tarzan movies were filmed with glass bottom boat rides, old Spanish Fort & Museum, Spring Creek Restaurant, only 20 minutes south of Tallahassee. . . . . and best of all they have a great B & B located in the town of St. Marks - the Sweet Magnolia Inn, operated by a wonderful Innkeeper (she cooks up a full hot breakfast every morning)!! If you haven't been to this part of Florida, old Florida, you are missing out!!
