What happened to all the lovely jackets that were always part of Coldwater Creek fall apparel. All you have this fall are sweaters, some blouses and more sweaters. I found in one catalogue three jackets which are not solid and are print and wool. I will keep wearing my old jackets and will have to check in other stores for some fall jackets. I am truly disappointed since I filled out a survey about how much I liked the jackets etc. I even said I loved the boyfriend jackets. I have several gift cards for Coldwater Creek but will not use them until I see jackets I like. There may never be any jackets this fall or winter but I will not cash in the gift cards until I see some clothing that I like. I will tell my friends not to give me any more gift cards for Coldwater Creek because it looks like the clothing selections have changed now and there are no more jackets to be seen anywhere in the catalogues. A very disappointed shopper who has been a shopper for a very long time of Coldwater Creek.
This item I recently returned for an exchange 10 days ago, I really liked the product hoping to hear from Coldwater Creek about the exchange I would really like the shirt for vacation Item # 4015905005
I have been shopping at CWC off and on for several years. They have great styles for work clothes that can then transform to casual evening wear out with the girls. I just got a new job and I also received the catalog and invite to the Algonquin Commons CWC for raffle prices and suprise discount. Peggy was my personal shopper that day and helped me try on several items. There were two other very helpful sales assocates that also helped me make many selections. These three girls went above and beyond with their costomer service and I had a great time shopping in the store that night. They were friendly, helpful and I was lucky enough to get the 40% so I went back and got 2 more wrinkle free shirts and another sweater. I think I have about 30 to 40 combinations of new clothes with the help of Peggy and the other associated on September 6th. I just want to give all of them a big thank you and recognize that Customer Service at CWC is AAA with those girls at the Algonquin commons store on Randall Road. Keep Smiling Girls! I will be back.
Catalogue and clothing are disappointing.
I, too, am so disappointed in the quality of the product and the prices they are charging for this poor quality. But what irks me the most is the way they are doing the math. I have a Coldwater Creek Charge Card. Last month I shopped with my $25 coupon from earned reward credits, which in other stores is worth the full $25. I purchased a top that was $49.98 with 40% off. That means I would have to pay $30 for the item. BUT... they first applied my coupon of $25, making the item retail at $24.98, and with 40% off, it came to $15, which means I paid $15 + $25 for a total of $40. SO......I am immediately canceling my CWC card and will begin using my TJMaxx Master Card instead, where a $25 coupon is worth $25 and not reduced to $15.
I've been a customer for quite a few years and have spent thousands of dollars at your stores. Over the last few years I have watched a slow decline in product quality that leaves me feeling betrayed. I will pay a higher price to have clothes that are timeless, a great fit and have great quality. I truly hope corporate is paying attention. Otherwise this too will go by the wayside as did other stores who sacrificed quality for volume. That isn't how you do business and keep your customers satisfied. You do business by bringing a great product to the table, that keeps a great customer base and brings in more clients. Don't be fooled by department store mentality. We don't want Kohl's, and unfortunately that's what your turning into. Sorry CC, you lost me.
I recently purchased some items at the Albany NY store. After signing the credit card slip, I realized they had charged me the wrong amount. The clerk did a 'post-void', rang up the correct amount and assured me that the first charge would not appear on my credit card statement. The next day I discovered that BOTH charges appeared with no corresponding credit or 'return'. When I called the store, I was told that it was not their problem since they claim they did not charge me. So how did my bank get the charge? I am now taking this up with my credit card company, something I should not have had to do! I won't be shopping there again.
Quality has definately changed. Not up to the standards of the "Old" Coldwater Creek ! They have lost their focus !!! I know a lot of their former Customers are shopping elsewhere. One of my neighbors told me she really noticed the difference and is no longer a customer !!! Too bad the pencil pusher and come of the corporate people are so out of touch with their former and loyal customers of many years !!! Get rid of the "Models" and stop trying to compete with the other low end retailers !!! No wonder your sales are down. The women who had the money and shopped their religiously NO Longer do !!! WAKE UP !!!! It may be too late !
Went shopping in the Milford CT store today. They were charging $10.00 more for size 18 vs. size 16. I told them that was discriminatory and insulting. It's not as if they carry quality clothing. Their sizes run small- a scam to get you to pay more. Even the sales lady told me their pants ran about 1.5 sizes smaller. I'm done with them.
I have been a CC customer since the early catalog days and my closet is filled with CC clothing. I was ready to pick up 1/2 dozen outfits at the Mother's Day sale. I felt as though my favorite aunt had died! I could have done better at Kohl's! As I had lost some weight I decided to try on some pants. The sizes were way off - they were ill-fitting, and the fabric was of poor quality. The piles of tees in the store had cute designs, but the fabric was thin, poor quality cotton. All the same with basic round necklines, no embellishments. Their original price was ridiculous, and the sale price (35% off) was no bargain for the price. I left the store with one blouse. I am wearing it today and the size is skimpy and not particularly comfortable. CC shoppers have paid an higher price for clothes of quality and of consistent sizing. Now I am reluctant to order from the catalog.
Generally, I agree with all the comments about quality. CC seems to have lost their way and do not know their customer base. Prices are higher, sales are not as good, and then now they have "improved" their sizing. Unbelieveable. CC serves a more middleaged woman, of which I am one, but with the new sizing, I am forced to buy a plus size, which at $10 more per item, is clear greed. I've never heard buzz in a store like I did the first time I was in there after the "new" sizing had changed. Women were talking about it all over the store. Don't you realize that (1) women who were regular size and are now "plus" will not buy there? (2) Quality is IMPORTANT (3) Women of a certain age have a decent amount of income and will spend it on beautiful, well-made clothing. I am so, so disappointed and will be shopping Chicos, JJill, etc. because at least the quality of the items are significant and the cost is similar. And I don't need to pay extra because I want a more roomy fit. Just very sad.
I have been reading here and on other sites that Coldwater Creek used to sell good quality items. I am a new customer, so unfortunately, I did not have the opportunity to experience Coldwater Creek when it was a good store. Now the prices are outrageously high for the quality of the items. The extremely slashed sale prices make a few items barely passable. I have purchased slacks, jewelry, and scarves. They were all very disappointing. The paper catalog and the web site display beautiful items that do not reflect the reality. How about spending less money on your advertising and more money on improving the quality of your inventory? I will not be making any further purchases from Coldwater Creek.
I've been a Coldwater Creeek customer for years. Recently, however, the quality of their clothing has declined. I bought a pair of stretch jeans that are very comfortable, but within 9 months the material on the seat of the pants has worned thin to the point I can no longer wear them. I also bought a pair of black slacks around the same time. The material has begun to "ball up" which is a result of the fibers unraveling and leaving loose ends to ball up on the fabric. Both of these are examples of deteriorating quality. This is very disappointing to me as I have shopped at CWC for years and never encountered these issues in the past. It's only been within the past year or so that I've noticed a decline in the quality of their clothing. Their prices no longer match the quality which means I’ll definitely be shopping elsewhere.
I too have been a long time customer of Coldwater Creek and VERY DISAPPOINTED that they are closing the Santa Barbara, Ca store! Might I suggest they check out renting a space in La Cumbre Plaza it is still in SB zone. I understand that is a head trip for them to have a Santa Baraba address. And yes, unfortunately their clothing line has cheaper quality. I will no longer order online if I do not have a store locally to return unwanted items. So long
I once shopped at Coldwater Creek stores almost exclusively, but now, since you’ve decided NOT to stock petite sizes anymore, I guess I’ll never have the “in-store” Coldwater Creek shopping experience again. I can never again come in and try on various jackets and tops to see the style, color, cut, and fit of the various pieces of a new outfit, and walk out with my new outfit in a bag, jewelry and accessories included. So, I think it’s kind of MEAN of you to send me those “Now In Stores…” e-mail, now that you have nothing for me to try on and buy. Your decision affects not only me, but my 4’11” sister, my 5’ sister, my 5’1” mom, and me, at 5’2”, not to mention aunts and cousins. “Petite” tends to run in families, you know. One reason all the petite women love being able to try items on in your stores is that we are harder to fit. Really, do you think you’ll save money by keeping all the petite women in America from buying in your stores? Here’s a suggestion: All the misses-sized, regular-height women are MUCH easier to fit than all of us petite folks, so why don’t you just make all the MISSES-sized women order only online, like you’re now expecting petite people to do? Surely, the misses-sized women won’t have to return so many things to get something that fits. Does that sound like it discriminates against misses-sized women? Well, that’s because it does, and that is exactly what you are now doing to short women: You are discriminating against us by keeping us from having the in-store “wardrobing” experience, which is really something I’ll miss. Between my husband buying gifts for me at CWC, and my own purchases for myself and family gifts, we probably spent at least $1,000 in your store each year. Last Friday, I spent $270 at Loft, in the petite section, and in Talbot’s, in the petite section, because, when I went to your “new” store in Durham, NC, at Streets at Southpoint, you had NOTHING petite in the store for me to buy, and I was ready to shop for my spring wardrobe and for my sister’s birthday present. How did your decision HELP your bottom line last Friday? The four other petite women in the CWC store last Friday were shocked to see no petites. As one 5-foot-tall woman said to me, "Well, I might as well just leave, because the only reason I shop here is because I can find petites." My point, exactly. What a terribly stupid "business" decision.
I am soooo disappointed in Coldwater. I have been a loyal customer for years! Now I can't find petite sizes in your store!!!! What's going on? You are a topic of conversation and complaints among my friends who also are looking for petite sizes! Are you trying to force us to shop at Talbots???? I repeat "What's going on"!!! The store personnel don't seem to understand that you can't just shorten the regular size. All the proportions are off in a regular size for the petite woman! The store personnel just DIDN'T GET IT, AND WAS RUDE! Bring back the petite sizes! The economy is improving!! Serve your loyal customers!!
I bought a lovely pair of pants just about a year ago. This week I noticed a seam is coming apart on the leg. Okay, I can repair that easy. This morning I noticed "little holes" in different areas of the pants; no bigger than the head of a pin. I use to shop J Jill over in North Conway. They left and then I found CWC. I really like the clothes, but to spend so much money on one pair of pants and then to have them fall apart so quickly...I will probably speak with someone at the store in Portland, but not so sure what will happened (based on previous reviews I've read). Does anyone believe I should get a refund or store credit?
I was in College Station at the new CMW and one of the salesgirls shirt was unbuttoned to almost her waist and she had a see thru pushup bra on that bearly covered the essentials. Her hair was white blond and 'moosed" to stick out in every direction. She looked like a prostitute and we were so upset by her appearance we left. She needed the Houston "fashion god".
I find it obnoxious to have Christmas music playing on November 1, even worse that you give your employees no means to change the channel.
