BBT is the worst bank to work for. They do a poor job of setting up accounts and an even worst job of explaining to you how they have created avenues to steal your money! Absolutely do not bank with BBT!

I have recently moved for Morrisville, North Carolina to Chandler, Arizona. While living in Morrisville I used BB&T for my personal banking. My bankers name is Tom Sreckovic. I can't tell you what a great help he was to me. He always was ready to listen and help me with any problems or questions that I had. I just felt that you need to know of his quality service. Ive done banking with many banks,and I chose BB&T because of me moving to a different area and the bank I was using was not in the area I moved ,so I chose BB&T.Big mistake they have been the worse bank I have ever had..there customer service is very poor .And they don't really care about anything but stiffing you for your money ,I have a loan with there sister company Lendmark ..best loan company you could ask for,as for BB&T after the first of the year I will close my account .I am tired of getting stiffed out of my money they make the rules as they go to stiff people......................Dillwyn VA
It will soon show up on your regular ceirdt reports from the ceirdt bureaus, once the bank charged-off your account it will be sold to a debt collector, and they will report the account on your ceirdt report. You should make a monthly arrangement with the bank to pay back the funds, remember to agree to what you can afford, and stick with it. You do not want to damage your ceirdt with a collection account.

I agree with all of your poor service with bb&t. My partner and I had a situation just this weekend. After depositing a check in our account, we were told that we wouldn't have access to any of the money for 7 days. My partner's bday was this wseekend and we had planned on using that money to have a great time. Unfortunately, all they would allow was $200 and that wasn't going to be active until Saturday. Really???? Then they decided, out of the goodness of their hard hearts, to allow half the money to be available on Tuesday, 2 days after his birthday, and the weekend being over. The remainder of the money will come due at the 7th day. Wow, I didn't know it would be difficult to access our own money. Guess they needed those few cents of interest they received from holding on to our money that long. Believe me, that money won't be in that bank after the 7 day waiting period. So long BB&T, there are plenty of other banks in the city that won't treat us like your red headed step-children.
What is going on with BBT .They are being very unreasonable with their small business people . Look like to me they need a good shaking from the top down. May be a new board of directors is in order .I am a long time stock holder ,on one hand they are running customers away that pay the interest that makes their stock worth more . Their stock has done very poorly in the last few years .Time to get out of doing any business with them.
I had another interaction today...I had a problem and they fixed it! I looking at possible changing from BOA to BB&T. I am not an employee...don't know anyone at BB&T...I just like how I have been treated! GOOD JOB!
I am sorry to hear of everyone difficulties. I needed a copy of my title for registration of my car. I was give concise directions about what needed to happen. I completed the necessary steps and was provided the information in a timely manner...I am please!
I am extremely upset with BB&T. We've had our mortgage with them for years. Now we're in 2012 and I'm being told that I have outstanding NSF charges from back in 2005. Are you serious?! Therefore they took it upon themselves to take the late pymt fee I sent in and applied it to those NSF fees. Did I mention that I had no idea they even existed? I proceeded to tell the rep that I was never made aware of the NSF fees nor were they even possible since I don't send personal checks. I pay all my bills online through my bank. She started getting testy and said that all she could do was send me a history print out for $25. Are you kidding me? So I have to pay $25 in order to see why THEY are charging me NSF fees? This was absolutely ridiculous and I just wanted to scream. I was no better off for the call. As it's stands my problem is not going away and more than likely I will have to pay the fees.
I have had a problem with my BB&T account since December 2011 and I have been unable to get anyone to correct this for me. In September I requested your Business Online ACH/Wire Service be added to our account. After we reviewed the service, we determined we did not need it and cancelled it in October with our local Relationship Banker, Liza. At this time we had two accounts with BB&T and decided to close the account the service was charged through. In November we realized the closed account was reopened because the service had not been properly cancelled and the account automatically reopened when the service was charged. At this point with spoke with Charlie, the bank manager who said he would be sure to cancel the service and permanently close the account. He did this in December. However, when he closed the account, instead of canceling the service, he switched the service to the current bank account I have with BB&T. Since December I have been charged 15.00 a month for the ACH/Wire service I had asked to be cancelled in October. In January I called the banking 800 regarding this charge, I was told someone would look into it and call me back. When I saw the charge in February I went back into my branch and spoke to the Relationship banker again, she said she could not help me. In March I was charged again, I called the 800 number, I was told, they would research it. At this point I called Charlie, my bank manager two to three times in March and left messages, he never returned my call. In April, I phoned the 800 service again to explain the total charges on my account had now reached 75.00 and no one was willing to cancel this service and refund my money. I informed her that I would like a refund so I could close my account. Her name was Sarah. She promised she would look into these charges and get back with me. Instead, I received a letter from my bank manager telling me he was closing my account, with no refund. I do not understand why BB&T could not provide the simple service of canceling this charge for me. I have requested this cancellation since December and have been ignored. Please inform me why you have refused to return my calls and cancel this service. Also, please inform me why you are not going to refund the charges for the service I clearly have repeatedly asked you to cancel. I am surprised that a bank would treat a customer so unprofessionally. I want the charges refunded. They total $75.00. $15.00 was charged to my account on each of the following dates: 12/01/2011, 01/03/2012. 02/01/2012, 04/02/2012.
friday march 9 i checked my mail amd found 2 overdraft notice from bb&t i knew this wasn't right and check my accoutn online. i found 6 transactions done march 5th 2012. 5 where atm debit transactions and one was a withdrawl done inside a bb&t branch. i spoke with customer service and informed her of this and she told me the withdrawal that was done in the branch was in a location 45 min from where i live. and somone typed all my info on the withdrawal form and for my signature they wrote my first name and my last name was a check mark.she agreed the transactions looked suspicious. and gave me a claim number and the number to the fraud department who i can not contact until monday bc its the weekend. meanwhile my acct is negative about 300.00 due the my acct being being wipeout in one day and purchases ive made and nsf charges. the customer service rep told me it would be up to the fraud department to credit my acct while they investigate. mean while i have direct deposit that goes in thursday and i need that money to pay my bills so i cant affort these nsf fees. and bc i have no cash i couldn't put gas in my car to go to work i had to get a ride and tomorrow i have to call in and i just came back from the emergency rm bc my daughter has a rash i due to not having enough diapers. thank goodness for health insurance. i spoke to my cousin who is a lawyer bc this has caused me alot of problems. he had some concerns about the situation but told me before he gets involved he wants me to do everything the rep told me to do and call the fraud department and try to rsolve the issue first regarding my negative acct. so hopefully monday will be better news if not thank goodness my cousin is a lawyer. my issue is why didnt my bank inform me of these transaction other banks do. and why can't customer service do more to help us.
i had a checking account at staunton va and called told them my card was stolen they froze my account then closed it after i had my taxes derirt deposted into the account then they told me that there is nothing they will do the account is closed even after i called corporate and they told me that that can reopen an account anytime they want
do not ever go to bb ant t in staunton,va they have the worst staff i have ever seen in a bank in my life the women are snotty and are more worried about talking to each other than than taking care of the person at the counter this place needs new staff asap
I have ath BB&T credit card with bb&t bank also my car payments are with bb&t i have never herd of not being able to pay on line unless you have an account with BB& T I would never open an account with BB&T the service is terrible i would never open any accounts with this bank.I am trying mo refinance my car note. with my own bank BB&T stinks .
Open an account and was told my funds will be released in 7 days or earlier if the funds clear less than 7 days. I called the bank and talked to managers and did not resolve the problem. I told them what the teller said and how stupid of them to ask the teller if she told me what she said, the teller say she didnt tell me that and they responded that the teller was telling the truth. Isn't they dumb to think if the teller was going to admit they gave me wrong information. Jonesboro and Morrow branch refused to give me their corporate office number so I can make a complaint. I am asking everyone who have or still banking with this BBT to make a complaint to the FDIC because they need to be reported.
I had a negitive balance in my savings account and money in my checking account. Used the money in my checking to pay my bills. After I spent my money they pulled 87 dollers out of my checking account while other purcheses were pending causing every thing that i spent to bounce this is not write did not informe me that they world take this money now they say they have the right to do that even if it costs you money bb@t sucks
I am 54 years old and have lived in KY,OH,and Florida. I have never had any problems whatsoever with any banks except yours located in Port Orange,FL. I have just been through a legal separation with my estranged husband due to his drug and alcohol abuse. I had just gotten back on my feet. I only receive $723.00 S.S.D.monthly. I have 2 frauds on my checking account commited my the ex. One was in August for $75.00. Then in Sept.(2011).The first time this was done,Lisa,your relationship banker on Taylor Rd. in Port Orange,FL suggested that I close my checking account to debits only,leaving it open to receive credits,(because I had an S.S.D.refund coming into my acct.and I wasn't sure when it would hit.I have direct deposit.)This account ended in 8718.I did as she suggested.She also opened another acct.for me ending in 4677 for me to use for my expenses.Then,in Sept.,I closed the acct.ending in 4677 because having 2 accts.open cost $10.00. Thinking my ex would be smart enough not to commit another fraud because he had been caught in Aug.,I reopened my acct.ending in 8718 to debits and credits.Then,on Sept.6,2011,another fraud of $75.00 was commited.I filed my 2nd claim.This too was immediately proven and the $75.00 was back in my acct.the day after I filed.I went to the B.B.T.branch on Nova Rd.in Port Orange,FL just to ask Heather,the relationship banker there to please close the acct.which the fraud had been commited twice and reopen the acct.ending in 4677.She was rude,played head games and politics with me. The worst customer service I have ever experienced.She informed me that since there had been 2 frauds against my acct.,that she could close the acct.but would not reopen another one for me!EXCUSE ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Did I commit a fraud against my own account?NO!!!!!!!! S
If anyone has a problem with BB&T I encourage them to write to Ripoff report. You can Google Ripoffreport and you'll find them. This bank needs to be reported. Perhaps if there are enough complaints about them something will be done. They are a rip off bank, they have screwed up my loan docs and as a result I can't get a refi which would save me hundreds with the rates being so low. Some idiot mis-dated the docs on my 2nd trust to a date prior to my actual settlement and since they (BB&T) gave me a home equity loan as a purchase 2nd NO ONE will touch me know because the banking laws have changed. (you can only refi a 1st mortgage and purchase 2nd trust) because my 2nd trust is listed and was processed as a home equity NO ONE will touch this loan now, even BB&T won't touch it since who ever did it back dated the 2nd(home equity HUD1) almost 15 days prior to my actual settlement date, so everyone tells me since I got cash out to pay the loan balance off at settlement it's a personal loan???? WTF..NO ONE EVER GAVE ME ANY CASH AT ANY TIME prior to my actually settlement date, which was at the end of the month which shows on the first trust HUD1. This bank practices illegal banking policy and should be brought out into the open. Just because they are one of the smaller banks out there (not a Bank of America or Wells) doesn't mean they don't play as dishonestly as the bigger banks!!
I became a client of BB&T after they absorbed Bank Atlantic. On the actual day we were officially part of BB&T their online banking was down and stayed down for over 24 hours. Since that initial time, there have been 2 further "downs" that I am aware of...one just happening from yesterday until today. I have concerns with a bank who has these constant problems and question the quality of their IT team. During these episodes, you have difficulty reaching a "live" person on the phone with waits of 30 minutes or longer....you would think the bank would have a back up plan to handle the calls they must know are going to come through. If you do get an actual person...many show their displeasure at handling these calls as if you are a bother to them/they claim they don't know the cause of the problem but there was one.....perhaps corporate should give some info. to these people to tell their callers...people with human nature just want to know what is going on/or I love this one.....it's a computer we are dealing with....yes, this is true but people control the computer. BB&T has a problem with electronic service and customer service that comes with it.
