60 Reviews For Dots Headquarters & Corporate Office

Today I visited a location in Highland Park,MI@ 14110 Woodward Ave 4823 (Metro Detroit area). Once I arrived home I noticed that the earrings I purchaaed were not in my bag. So, I called the store and the clerk wnated to argue the fact that she did put the earrings in my bag. I assured her that she did not and I am not lying. Then she asked if I could make there before they closed. At first I told her no because they were closing in @ 10 mins. never the less I changed my mind and decided to rush there. I arrived @ 7:58 p.m and was told by a gentleman they were closed, I explained what I wanted . Then a women came to the door and explained claim that they tried to tell me over the phone they would need to review the video tapes the following day and let me know, but I had hung up by then. I advd that I will just return my items tomorrow. They can review the tapes forwards and backward these earring for $6.80 are not in my bag. I do not appreciate the lack of professionalism or courtesy that was provided. I will follow up with them tomorrow and update then.

I was in your dots store on Saturday here in Memphis, TN when I overheard the store manager and two workers talking about a mom and her two daughters. Either they (the managers and employees) were blind or near-sighted, but what they saw I did not. They were loudly saying that the lady and the girls were stealing when all I witnessed was the girls dancing and the mom shopping or looking at clothes. They called so many police that I ran up out of there. I could not beleive how they assumed that this lady was doing what I didnt see. I made a promise to myself that I would never return to that store again. I did not like the loud, unprofessional talk that they did, nor the fact that I couldnt even shop for my mom and myself without police surrounding the building. DOTS - you all are really getting a bad reputation here in Memphis. You all need new, friendly management! I went elsewhere and bought my items!

I am very disappointed at your store located on Summer Avenue in Memphis, TN. I was there this past Saturday; shopping for my mom's “Mother's Day Gift” with my two daughters ages 19, and 16. Well apparently three cashiers thought me and my daughters were not only sisters but stealing and called five police officers - well shall I say five squad cars on us. I was like WOW! First of all we didn’t even know the police were there for us until another customer told us that she overheard them talking about us. She also mentioned that they always think people are in there stealing and that she will never go back there again. Please search me - so you all could get embarrassed. I have been shopping at DOTS and referring others ever since it came to Memphis! Never - Ever - again! I’ve already Posted on my FB – not to go to no more DOTS ever again! I really want to Boycott……. They have Horrible Customer Service when it comes to thinking that all people steal – that is called Stereotyping People!!! OMG - we were so embarrassed, hurt and angry - I went off on them right in front of the officers. I started asking questions to the cashiers that they couldn't answer right in front of the police. My questions were - did you see us take anything? What made you call the cops? What actions were we doing so bad that you thought we were stealing anything? Can you please show proof while I am in here with the officers. The officers looked at them waiting as well. They all looked stupid. I offered to leave my name, phone number and address so that after they reviewed the tapes they could call and apologize; but they were all looking so dumb in the face that I left. I would never steal anything nor confront accusers in front of that many cops if I had stolen anything besides why would I embarrass both my brothers in which one is a MPD Sergeant and the other is a MPD Detective. Come on people; you all got to do better when it comes to customer service. DOTS please train your low/poor class staff on how to find out if someone is stealing before accusing them. For one – ask customers is there anything you can do to help them? Or bring some shoes or another accessory over while they are shopping and offer to help match it with an outfit. Never –ever do this to another customer – losing business, especially mine is going to hurt you because I am a shop-alcoholic. But not in your stores again! And I mean that! See the thing about me is that I really do influence others, because once I post a photo of me on my FB, everyone is in boxing or posting that I am sharp, where did I get that, often times its your store – but her not anymore,,, sorry I am moving on and never referring again.

Hello, I was in your West Irondeqouit,NY store yesterday evening and I have never witnessed anything like what I witnessed in your store before. There were two employees that I know of that was working one white and one black. The white girl was on the register ringing customers, and the black girl was on the floor swearing and talking on her cell phone. There was another girl that was also cursing and talking loud, but I am not sure if she was an employee or not. Customer service is very important when it come to running a store of that nature. I have over twenty years in customer service and can not get a management job, but incidents like the one I witnessed yesterday leave me to believe that it’s not me because clearly management didn’t have any control over the employees that were in the store last night. It was a disgrace on how they were talking about cursing out the scheduler, and just not being professional at all. This will defiantly be my last time visiting that store.

I recently visited the Dots in woodbridge,VA. I was very happy with my selectionsand the staff was extremely nice and helpful. However, when the next day when I went to wear an outfit, the security tag was still on. Upon further inspection SEVeRAL of my items had security tags on them. Now the store is about 45 mins each way from my home and the items were for a trip. I saw the store manager and she apologized but thay was all. Felt like something more should have been done since this was an inconvenience for me .

I always loved your store and shopping there. However, after an incident my son and his girlfriend went through in the store in the Viewmount mall in Dickson City PA I nor my family will not shop at your stores again. My son and his girlfriend bought $40.00 worth of merchandise for her young children. They accidently left the bag at the food court when they went back the bag was gone. They decided to go in the store and see if maybe someone found the bag and returned it to the store. When they got to the register they noticed the merchandise on the counter told the worker what happened. The worker stated that someone was in the store 5 minutes before my son and his girlfriend returned and returned the merchandise. My sons girlfriend asked how when she had the receipt. The clerk and manger stated it was the store policy and there was nothing they could do for them. The manager and clerk became very belligerent and told them to leave the store. I understand the loss was my son and his girlfriends fault and as far as return or anything like that is not what bothers me. What bothers me is how a store has a policy that a person does not need a receipt to return merchandise and why was my son and girlfriend being treated like criminals and the actual criminals where treated respectful. What has become of our society when a person can pick up an item or items that another accidently leaves behind keep it and have the ability to return it for a store gift card? It’s just shameful that you do not have policies in your store to stop something like this from happening.

I'm dissapointed that you guys changed the cut of your pants in the last year. I used to go in there and grab all the 7/8 curvy jeans off the rack and buy them. Now I can't find anything in the entire store that's my size. Everything is for tall skinny people.

First let me start by saying I cant believe how the prices of Dots went up! I always like the Deb store but preferred Dots because their prices were better. Well now its safe to say I am done shopping at Dots since Debs your competitors in Lancaster Pa has about the same prices as Dots and give a much better selection of clothes. Not to mention the associates that work in Dots are rude and not helpful at all. I was in there today and in the hour i spent at Dots i could tell you all the associates life stories... Instead of them helping customers they are more worried about talking among themselves. I used to shop at Dots faithfully, but the more i shop there the more i hate it. I would advise you to be more careful who you hire and train them more. Im not the only customer you lost today and i will let everybody know of your poor customer service and your messy store. I now see why your prices are higher, because your store is losing business. Get it together people!!!!

I am sorry to hear about all the bad reviews. All of you should visit the Dots in Chicago in Marshfield Plaza. I LOVE the Manager there she always has an outfit in mind for me when I walk in. I cant say enough about her great customer service and honesty when I have made a bad decision:)

I put in a complaint about the treatment I received at the store on Delaware Ave and this morning a representative from DOTS actually called me to follow up on my complaint! I almost thought I was getting pranked lol. While I'm dissappointed in the way I was treated by the workers in the store at that time, the fact that someone actually read my complaint and wanted to do something to fix the problem has made me reconsider my decision to 'never go in there again'. Just that show of respect for the customers opinion really had a big impact on 'winning' me back as a customer. Thank you District Manager of DOTS in Buffalo NY :)

I went to the DOTS on 2160 Delaware Ave, Buffalo NY 14216. The workers there were rude, obnoxious, rolling their eyes at me and exchanging rude glances between each other. The manager even grabed my card off the counter and swiped it without my permission at one point in the transaction. I bought 2 dresses (buy one get one half off), both dresses were about $18 each so my bill came out to roughly $28. One dress didn't fit well so I returned it for another dress in a proper size. The new dress I picked was $20. Here's where the employees thought it was rocket science: if I return an $18 dress for a $20 dress then I should pay the $2 difference because I'm paying full price on the more expensive dress and the second dress would still come out to $9 because it's half off the second dress. It took them an hour to figure everything out. The manager was saying things like 'I already explained this to you four times already", "Well don't confuse the workers when you come in here then" while rolling her eyes, and the kicker "You should have asked for a manager when you first came in"! I figured it was a basic exchange so the regular store workers would be able to understand. I stayed calm and told her that I think there was a miscommunicatin somewhere and I was just trying to understand why my bill was alot more than it obviously should have been. I'm going to return everything tomorrow and never shop at DOTS again. And this time, I will not be as calm and understanding as I forced myself to be on 11/30/11. The actual mistake I can tolerate because there was a misunderstanding, what I won't accept is the disrespectful treatment I received from the workers, especially the manager.

As I read the other comments above... Im sorry about the customer service from Dots. Different people. Differents Dots. I shop at the one in Mansfield, Texas. Kuddos to that staff there. Those young ladies work their butts off. I came in a couple of days before Thanksgiving. I was greeted and was helped. I almost left the store without anything for the holiday until this sweet young lady approached me. Didnt let me leave til I was happy. I think her name was Keesha , Tesha or something. She helped me find the cutest outfit. She always nice when I see her and another young lady Cherity... I always get help from her. I always have great experience in this store. Ive been shopping there for 2yrs now. I love that staff... Love Dots in Mansfield, TX

I am writting to let everyone know how awful this store is and how they offices also handle there business. I will never shop in a dots store ever again due to they way they handle things. I was in there allentown pa store the end of may i came home and was unloading my purchases only to discover that they forgot to put an item in my bag i called the store and the lady said i will have to give you a call back i gave the lady my number and she said i will give you a call back in a few was home all night and heard nothing nor no phone call the next day i went online and contacted someone on there in which the two days later i got a phone call from a lady leaving me to believe that she was going to help me out she told me it was going to take some time cause she needed to review a few things but she promised to get back to me no later then monday in which it was a wednesday gues what NO phone call back. if you treat your custmers like this over 20 dollars then you know what i dont wanna shop in your store and id rather pay more for shirt dress or jeans and have it in my bag then lose out on 20 dollars and get nothing. I work retail and i understand how hard it can be at times but i also know that you dont leave a unhappy custmer sitting for over a month without contacting them.

Let me start off by stating that 1 star is too good a rating! I tried to return a pair of shoes today that I purchased in Dots at the MidTown Shopping Center in Milwaukee, WI. I only purchased the shoes the day before yesterday, and they have never been worn. When I went into the store today I encountered a store employee named Christina. Christina looked at the shoes and loudly exclaimed that they had been worn. I told her that the shoes had not been worn, and that all of the tags were still atttached. Christina stated that there was dust on the bottom of the shoe. I asked her if she would like for me to dust the dust off and them return them, and she stated "you can't do that, and I'm gonna have to keep the shoes to make sure you don't try to return them to a different store". I explained to her that the shoes belonged to me and unless she was going to return my money for the item then I was leaving the store with the shoe, and I politely took the shoe from her hand. Christina then became very loud and obnoxious and stated that I had snatched the shoes from her and she was going to call security. I explained to Christina that I did not have a problem with her calling security because I did not snatch anything from her, and that I would wait in the store until security came so that they could review the tape. Security showed up immediately and asked me to leave the store which I did with my shoes. This was a very unfortunate situation that could have been easily resolved, and did not have to even escalate to security being called. I was truly embarrassed at having security called on me, and at the level of disrespect I received from a store employee. I will NEVER, EVER shop at any Dot's store again in the future. You guys should be selective about the people who hire to represent your brand and your stores. Christina is a very rude and dramatic young lady, that should probably be working as an actress and not a customer service representative of anyone's establishment. I did file a complaint with the store head quaters and am awaiting a call from the District Manager Gina Brester. No one should be treated like that ever! You guys have lost a faithful customer that spends hundreds of dollars in this store a couple of times a month. Christina should be fired, or at least reprimanded. She needs to take a class on customer service.

I am appauled with service in Staten Island. It is unbeliveable in this economy that sales clerks as well as managers fail to realize that people can CHOOSE to spend their money in certain retail stores. They will realize it when they continue to loose paying customers due to inadequate customer service. No customers=no money=no store. That is economics 101.

The store in Crest Hill, Ill. has the worst customer service and employees ever. They did nothing to help my niece and I when we shopped there. They were rude about the customers that left the store and were bashing other stores also. I believe the manager was there and chimming in with her associates. She seemed to be enjoying herself in a weird "hi" kind of way...whats wrong with service these days??? Never going back and I'm sure they don't mind.

I have been a Dot's Fashionista for five years... But I have to say my experience today has been the best experience of my shopping experience. I have been tracking a white dress for about two weeks ... and I call each day because my email states the dress had arrived... each day the sales rep would say not yet... April 26 store opening 1000am... I called and sales rep Brittany answered and I stated to her what I was looking for ... she put me on hold and asked another sales rep who was the assistant store manager Jessica... She asked me to hold while she went to look at the new inventory... She came back and said that the dress was in and what size should she hold for me... Upon my arrival not only had Jessica and Brittany located the dress but held not only the size I requested but a size larger.... I was able to purchase the dress (which the store had only received one dress in the size I needed). If it had not been for these two ladies customer service I would have not gotten the dress in my size... I would highly recommend these two ladies for Diva Dollars or any store perks as possible... Customer service is a rare form and I would always ask for there assistance any time I go into the store in the future. Tina Smith Dot's Fashionista My store is 13299 Worth Avenue Woodbridge, VA 22192-4138 (703) 492-7996

Beautiful clothes but the customer service an communication skills of the cashiers are bad at 1737 south bradock avenue, pittsburgh. The girls talked very loudly from the time I walked in until the time that I left, they tried on clothes and made me wait too long to try on my clothes. The one girl heard me tell the woman next to her that I wanted to try on a blouse and a pair of pants but made me wait until she was completely finished talking before she walked over to me to unlock the door. Nice clothes but bad service, the first woman I talked to was terrific and knew my size but the other two came off as welfare back to work moms who are there because they have nothing better to do with their time.
