Nevada Energy refuses to give the public full and thorough information about the implications of the Smart Meter. When you speak with one of the, may I add, consistently insolent and curt representatives at Nevada "Energize" in Vegas, they tell you that any assurances they give you cannot be sent to you in writing. I was told that the Smart Meter will only charge a flat rate per kilowatt hour used, as is the case with the current analog meters. I don't believe that NV Energy will go to all this expense and trouble to install these meters if not to charge everyone for "time of use," reaping in monumental profits when energy is used during peak hours, which people cannot avoid.
