Difficult to understand how a company like Harry and David's thinks nothing of taking away a retirement benefit that had been enjoyed by seniors as myself. I will never shop Harry and David's again and will advise others to do the same. Shame on you for your pettiness!

I have bought fruit for family and friends for years. This year I received the fruit of the month from my son. The Bosc pears arrived greema nd when they were riot, they were too mushy to eat. The tangellos were so sour they were hard to eat even waiting. Unfortunately we never received any Royal Riviera pears,our favorite. So far we are very disappointed.

What a great staff! I spent the weekend shopping with friends at the outlet. One of the stores we visited was the Harry and David in Osage Beach, MO. Your employee Sandra, went above and beyond! She told me about some of the dishes she makes using the products I purchased and then she even sent me the recipes!

Hey, I ordered peaches from H&D. Guess what they used FedEx which delivered them to our local post office for delivery to me. Really, you turn an order for fresh fruit over to a government run organization? US Postal Service-really?. Well they never arrived-surprise surprise. You know the postal employees ate them. Good bye Harry and David, if you are that dumb-maybe bankruptcy is best for you.

I am 56, healthy, smart and in good physical shape. I am a CPA, have two rental properties that I maintain, regularly attend church and I am clean, honest and respectable. I applied for a material handler position at the Hebron,Ohio facility. I took the two tests and got a 90 on one and a 65 on the other. The test that I failed was counting the number of boxes in a one dimensional picture. I find it interesting that such a test determines one's suitability for a postion there. These positions are seasonal for $8.50 and hour. The test adminstrator told me that I failed and that I could only take the test once and for me to come back next year. At first I was angry, and then I just laughed about it. One would think the company might want to evaluate honesty and character rather than how many boxes in a picture. If my two scores were averaged, I would have passed, but they were weighted individually. This is such a silly test, and I suggest that corporate staff review this testing method.

I agree with the former employee. Since they filed for bankruptcy earlier this year they have started to treat their employees very poorly. They are using any reason to terminate seasoned higher paid employees. I was with the for 2 years. It seems as though they are trying to trim cost at all expense. They have even gone to a different vendor for their famous pepper and onion relish. The original stuff can be purchased at most major grocery stores under the Dickinson's label. Quite a few of their products can be found under that label for dollars less. The products are way over priced and really not worth it. The only things worth the money are the pears. One hint to that is find a comice pear in a store and put it in the fridge for a while. Make sure it isn't ripe when you purchase it. That is all the HD does to their pears. I predict a short life for HD so don't purchase any long term gifts since they will not have to deliver.

Yesterday I spent over 2 hours trying to to complete an online order. I responded to an e-mail from HD saying I had free mailing. I placed 3 orders and the website would not accept my $50 gift card. I cancelled twice. Then today I tried to order again without the frre mailing. Again the website refused my gift card. Gift card is good not used prior to my attempt to order. Today (after spending another hour on the phone/computer) all I got was $9 off for mailing and the gift card was agin refused. What good is a gift car if your folks do not acceot it? I want to now how I can get the cash for my card so I can take my business elsewhre. I had ordered last year and not encountered the problems that HD is creating for me now.

I called a Harry & David store yesterday to find out if they had any apple pie coffee in stock. The sales associate assured me they had plenty in stock which they did. I drove 45 minutes (the closest location), picked up 3 bags at 13.95 a bag. I went to the register to find out they couldn't grind the beans because the coffee grinder has been broken for a week. They asked me if I wanted to purchase one of their coffee grinders to grind the coffee beans. When I said absolutely not, they then told me to go to Dunkin Donuts to have it ground. They were also promoting that when you entered the store you would receive a scratch off secret Santa coupon worth 20, 30, 40,or 50 percent off. Why should I be surprised that everyone I talked to in the store had 20 percent coupons! I wonder where the 30,40 and 50 percent coupons were. I won't go back again!!!!!!

As a former harry and david associate with four dedicated seasons, a perfect attendance and several high sales, I would like to bring to light the decision making skills of harry and davids management and upper management my employment was terminated after a five day investigation regarding my performance. In a effort to increase my call volume hence increase revnue for harry and david I released the calls after completing the transactions instead of waiting for the customer to hang up the phone. In what universe does a employee who generates revenue and never had a customer complaint get terminated? I feel cheated and discriminated against, I would just like everyone to know how Harry and David really is...thanks you all for listening

All I requested was an email notifying me my fruit of the month gift had been shipped. I thought the problem had been resolved, no now told it can't be done. My children spent a lot of money for this gift. I hate it. I ordered from this company before I received this "gift". Will never order again. Customer service!!!!!

Received a Harry & David gift basket. Buyer beware. Large basket filled with shredded paper to add bulk. Goods were of the cheapest quality. Inedible is the best description. Anyone who buys this garbage is wasting their money.

Placed an order on Jan 4, 2011. My credit card was immediately charged. Still no package has been sent. Numerous inquiries to customer service have resulted in the same 9word for woard) canned response. An order for the exact same thing place 4 days after the 1st arrived 1 1/2 weeks ago. Customer service is non-exsistent. They get your money and you wait..maybe they'll ship.

THIS MORNING I PHONED FED EX TO TRACK THE PKG AND LEARNED THE PKG HAD BEEN SENT TO SAN LEONARDO, CA 94605, INSTEAD OF REDWOOD CITY, CA 94065..... AGAIN, SAME PROBLEM WITH TRANSPOSED ZIP CODES. I PLACED AN ORDER DEC 16th, FOR 1 CREAMY DREAMY CHEESECAKE SAMPLER, TO BE DELIVERED TO REDWOOD CITY, CA ZIP CODE 94065, BUT THE REP TRANSPOSED THE ZIP TO 94605 WHICH WOULD HAVE TAKEN MY GIFT TO OAKLAND, CA, THE ORIGINAL ORDER SHOULD HAVE BEEN DELIVERED DEC 23rd TO RELATIVES IN TIME FOR CHRISTMAS. WHEN CHECKING MY EMAIL ORDER CONFIRMATION DEC 17th, I DISCOVERED THE ERROR, PHONED HARRY & DAVID TO CORRECT, WHICH I THOUGHT HAD BEEN DONE, AND DEC 23d, LEARNED THE ZIP CODE HAD BEEN CORRECTED, BUT THE CAKE HAD NEVER BEEN SHIPPED. I AGAIN PHONED TO QUESTION WHY THE CHEESECAKE HAD NEVER SHIPPED, AND WAS GIVEN THE RUN AROUND, AND ONE APOLOGY AFTER ANOTHER. I TOLD A SUPERVISOR I WAS NOT SATISFIED WITH THEIR POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND INCOMPETENT EMPLOYEES. WHICH IS UNACCEPTABLE AND DEMANDED A FULL REFUND, TO WHICH SHE AGREED. I HAVE SPENT AT LEAST 2 HRS ON THE PHONE ATTEMPTING TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE, AND THIS SHOULD NOT BE NECESSARY. I have had the most frustrating time with Harry and David. Last week I placed an order. An hour later I called to question the mailing charge, and was put on hold for over an hour. I then emailed a request to cancel the order, I called again to cancel but was again put on hold for over an hour. I finally spoke someone who told me she would cancel the order.When I didn't hear back, I called again and this time was reassured my order would be canceled. Today I received a notice saying my order was NOT cancelled. I don't know what happened to Harry and David,s. I will never do business with them and I will not pay for an order I tried to cancel 3 tomes and was reassured twice that it would not go out. They do not have any customer service. it is too frustrating to ever go through that again..

The reason why I gave my experience rating at Harry & David one star is because they would not let me give it anythign less - the negative rating that my experience at harry & David truly deserves. Yesterday My husband came in to a Harry & David store to purchase one 20.00 item that was to be delivered locally. Taking the order took more than 40 minutes. Today, I called to follow up on the order and the delivery date and the Harry & David rep - who is allegedly the manager - the person who took the original order, because her name is on the receipt - did not know anything about the order. She can not find my name, address, or other information located on file - even though I have a receipt and a receipt number. After work today, I am going to stop by and get my money back. Harry & David has a decent catalogue with products that seem real, but I am not sure how real the products are if their staff is allowed to take your money, fabricate orders, and not deliver.

I tried to order a ONE item that was advertised in a Catalog sent to me. I was told over and over again a delivery date and it has been 3 months since then and My daughter never recieved it. I spoke to many supervisors as well as reps and told different stories. They apologized and said they would overnight it(they charged my Credit Card) and it still was not delivered!! I was fed up and cancelled completely and notified the BBB as well as other Consumer depts.I only hope my CC info is safe and they refunded my money. The order that was placed on Mothers Day was melted, when they resent it, it was melted Too. I will never order from them again.
