I didnt have a problem with the person that answered the phone. The problem I have is I purchased 2 sofa recliners and the leather started to peel. The insurance I have thru Guardian states that they don't cover wear and tare but they cover burns hole due to keys. Now after 4 years I need new sofas and I am out of almost 2,000.00. This is horrible.

HORRIBLE delivery service... They do NOT honor their delivery times nor do they do anything to accommodate you! I will NEVER order from them again and I would advise others NOT to shop with them!

Terrible service at Morton grove location. Manager is so rude. Have no idea how he can hold that position. Very rude

Worst service ever

I have the worst experience ....I called dispatch to advise when to deliver service and simply ignored it and knock during a very important conference call....I was told by Sandra they will come back and deliver the furniture and they never called ..when I called at 7pm renuda ...had me on hold for over 40 minutes and never came back to the line , we needed this furniture to entertain my grand kids ....I do not believe they understand that they should not treat people like this ...I will not stop until I contact a district manager or some one that can help !

bad service

for the past 5 years I have been calling going in and trying to contact someone regarding my dining table and chairs. they sent someone to my home to check my chairs when he saw them he said they need to be replaced and will b covered under my warrantee ....I waited and waited and waited no one called me I finally got a hold of someone and they said they didn't know what I was talking about and they never received a paper regarding the replacement of my furniture!!! im still waiting till this day I expect my furniture to be replaced asap!!!

worst customer service

I just purchased a sofa and love seat that was delivered on 04/27. I called the customer loyalty dept that very same day to complain that there when you recline on the sofa there is too much space between the seat & back rest. They did sent out a technician who basically told me it is customer perception after about a few weeks of sitting on the sofa that will eventually cover up the space. I ccalled them today about the same issue and they told me they cannot send out another technician because that sofa is ok per manufacture standards. They cannot do anything about it. This is the last time shopping there. I will be sure to let family & friends know. I know someone who is a reporter for a local news channel, the issue will definitely get some publicity.

Worst service

I have been shopping at room palce for past few years and most of my furniture are from them. I even had my family and friends go there too but not any more. I had to call your service for warrenty as leather chair from dinning set were cracking leather and wanted to call them to fix it since I took 5 years warrenty. Worst customer service I have ever got. I was explaining the lady and she won't listen and hung up the phone. I mean this took next level of customer service. I would not shop and would tell others same thing not to go there.. worst service you could get. I also called the store and ask for manager to explain him after 3 calls no one came on the phone and third time person wrote my number and said manager will call back.. no one called back as yet... what a way to drive away customer. This is at the Bloomingdale, Illinios store. Also I am writting to BBB about this since I have account to post reviews. Mayur

I think a class action lawsuit is in order for the Room Place Company, along with an ad in some local newspapers and an investigative review on a few local TV Station. I will soon be organizing a contact site with more info.to follow. This place does not need to be in business anymore. We have spent thousands of $$$ for their merchandise and purchased "BOGUS" warranty programs of which Room Place is obviously pocketing the money. Room Place obviously could care less. Spread the word around as much as possible about their shady/shoddy practices. WHAT A JOKE!!!!

I purchased a dining room set my 2 year old son broke a chair. Inside the chair we realized the wood was black rotten.

All I could say in summary is that customer service sucks and the quality of the furniture sucks.

The Room Place, Castleton, Indiana the worst customer service ever! I feel violated. I purchased an 8 pc front room set in March. Delivery was set up for April. Only 3 pieces showed up, the couch, loveseat and chair. I called about the lambs and the coffee table and two end tables. No one knew why the lamps were not delivered. They told me the truck would come back and get them from the store. The tables were on back order (they should say so when you make the purchase) and I wouldn't get them until May 29th!!! Weeks went by and I would call the store, they would transfer my call to delivery, tables would come on May 29th. I would wait one week, call again just to see if I would get the same answer, they said table would come May 29th! Well, I just got my lambs, last week. On the 29th of May, I stayed home from work, I never received a phone call from The Room Place, telling me the delivery was on the way. I waited until 5p and gave them a call. They didn't have me down for a delivery. There were no tables. The tables I purchased had been discontinued, the company had stopped making them, and the store didn't have any more either. Do you think someone called me to let me know? NOOOOOOO. I had to call them, they gave me a pitiful refund of $200.00. I told the manager from now on, I will shop at Value City Furniture, I am serious, but he laughed. I feel violated.

I went to Harlem Furniture on Cicero Avenue in Burbank, IL and I purchased furniture. I was told I would receive a call to have my furniture delivered and I could pick the time window. When they called me they were very rude and gave me no window, the only offered me one day and I told them that didn't work for me. So after I said no, they delivered my furniture ANYWAYS, I was in the shower and my boyfriend signed for it and accepted it and the furniture has rips, on both the love seat and couch. When I called to complain the manager, Tim, actually argued with me about the delivery date, insisting I had scheduled and agreed to Saturday, even though he did not hear the conversation. I has been weeks and nobody has come to pick-up the ripped couches or fix them. In fact, I received 2 more phone calls where they are still calling to deliver my furniture and I have had the furniture for over a month now, these people do not know what the hell they are doing! When I tried to call corporate to complain, today, on 5/18/12 @ 9:00 a.m. NOBODY ANSWERS THE PHONE, NEVER AGAIN WILL I SHOP WITH HARLEM FURNITURE!!!! They started billing me even before I got my couches, I called today and the number in Bloomington, IL says they are closed, and these are normal business hours.

I should have read these before I fell prey to Harlem furniture. I bought my furniture April 6 and after a month later and four delayed delivery dates, I'm. Told that my furniture will arrive on may 29th. Not acceptable. I'm canceling.

Let me start by saying my rating would be 0 stars if that was an option! I purchased the warranty on my couches that were purchased a few years ago. For 2 years I have been trying to get the decorated stitching repaired that is covered under the warranty. Someone came out to fix it, couldn't and said it would be replaced. There was even a delivery date. The piece never came. Corporate said they would take care of it- never did. The store in Lombard, IL that we purchased the couch from said that they would take care of the problem. Gina, the manager, spoke with me and said that she would get back to me within the week. It has been a month, no phone call, and when I call and leave messages I never receive a phone call back. Absolutely the WORST furniture company that I have ever dealt with. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB and letting everyone I can know not to do business with Harlem Furniture. I cannot believe that the company is not bankrupt yet!

I SPENT OVER 9,000 IN THE ROOM PLACE A YEAR LATER MY INDIGO POINT GEL MATTRESS WENT BED I CALLED TO GET IT REPLACE AND THEY TOLD ME THEY KNOW LONGER CARRY THAT MATTRESS AND THE MATTRESS THEY DO HAVE THATS ALMOST LIKE MINE IS A 1,000 MORE AND I WOULD HAVE TO PAY WHAT THE HELL IS MY WARRANTY FOR!! THEN THE STORE IN MY TOWN CLOSED UP OVER NIGHT AND THERES MORE ONE OF MY ARMS ON MY CHAIR CAME OFF I CALLED THE WARRANTY COMPANY AND THEY TOLD ME ANYTIME FURNITURE BRAKE OFF AROUND A SCREW OR A NAIL THEY CAN'T COVER IT THATS A MANUFACTURER RELATE DEFECT WFT!!! THIS COMPANY IS A DEFECT AND I TELL EVERYONE STAY AWAY THIS COMPANY DONT CARE THEY JUST IN FOR THE MONEY THEY TALK A GOOD TALK UNTIL THEY GOT YOUR MONEY ( P.S I HAVE TO GO TO ANOTHER PART OF MY STATE TO ONE OF THRER STORES AND PICK OUT ANOTHER MATTRESS AND IF ITS LESS THEN MY AMOUNT I WILL GET A STORE CREDIT BY THE WAY THAT DRIVE IS 3HR

I purchased two sofas dec 1 and they said it will be in first week of jan. Now there telling me some time in March what a bunch of A holes to lie and lie this is not the way business is to be run.

I have purchased my furniture from the Room Place in the beginning of November and have still not recieved it. When the Asst. Manager of the Lincoln Park store sold me the furniture she told me that it would take 3 days. So I purchased it and than a day later, they told me it was on back order and would not be delivered for 2 weeks. I said ok, waited 2 weeks, they than said another month. I than called the general manager of the store and asked him why it would take so long. He said that the sales person should have told me that it would take this long. I informed him that it was his asst manager that sold it to me and, no I was not told. So than they call me right before xmas to tell me they are going to deliver it. Than call me a day later and tell me that it would be till the 30th of december. Than call me and tell me January 5th, and than cancel that and tell me January 17th. They lie, they dont follow up, I have waited 2 months almost and no furniture. I hope the corportae offices actually read this. My job consists of networking and customer service. They have over promised and under delivered. I will make sure that I tell everyone don't buy from the Room Place.

i have purchased my furnishings there in total of over 5 thousand dollars.they'll say anything to please you and once you've purchased something that's when they begin to mess up.they choose my delivery date without asking me and the stuff isn't even here yet!i had to cancle two parties because of the lateness.they make me so upset i want to cancle the whole thing!

Garbage they never deliver like they say I waited 1 month for a delivery don't buy from them u will be sorry
