Not to return customer

I am submitting my review - it is a complaint. I purchased glasses at the location in Jackson,MS. I have taken them back four (4) times. I am unable to see clearly. So I purchased a pair from somewhere else, and I am able to see very very clear!!! The ones from Eyemart was a waste of my money and I wished I had never bought them. I have been having nothing but problems and I hope the wrong prescription didn't mess up my eyes!!!!!!!!! I do wish I could get my money back!!!!!

Bad customer service

The Anderson store South Carolina has worst customer service You should have people in the store that can help people find glasses that look fit good ....My glasses are so bad still can't see ...I called the store about changing my glasses the man said you have got to be kidding you used up too much of my time the other day he told me to just live with them after 450.00 I should nt have to just live with them....The glasses he sold me are too big they fall off my face

poor service

I came in about 2 weeks ago on a friday afternoon. I am black. I was in the store for at least a half an hour and was NEVER acknowledged. I ended up picking out my own glasses and taking them to the counter, the whole time your employees were rendering service to every white customer that came in after and before me. This is UNACCEPTABLE. I then came to pick up my glasses saturday 6/29 and had to find someone and ask for my glasses. There were 3 different customers in the booths in the back being helped. I was just handed my glasses and told by the young lady that if i need any future help with my glasses to feel free to come back???? no fitting nothing!! This is 2013 nobody is above or beneath anyone. I work for the state and have insurance as well. What is the problem here!!?!?!?!?

Customer service

I went to Eye Mart June 2013 ( Winston-Salem, NC Hanes Mall ). Good prices, nice frames. Employee very nice, but you sign a sheet when you enter the store. The people getting glasses for the first time and on the same sheet, the people picking up their glasses. I sat there 1-hour waiting to pick up my glasses. One employee should be there just for pick ups. I never saw so many people leaving. The company is losing customers and money, by making people picking glasses waiting on the same list as new customers. The Manger should be able to figure this out. Next time I am having my glasses mailed to me.

poor service

I went to EyeMart on Coberg Rd in Eugene Or and was told that they could not give me new lenses because my frames were too old so I would need to by new frames. That is so wrong--my frames were only 1 yr old and in perfect condition. I went to 2 other optical shops and was told my frames were okay. I feel that your company is scamming Senior Citizens who are not sure of things into believing that they need this new frame. Shame on you!!!!! I will surely see that all my friends and neighbors know what a sleazy outfit you are.

I have been a customer of the Terre Haute EyeMart for many years. I had my regular exam in June of this year and had discussed with the doctor an option of going with a stronger contact, for more distance vision. So, that is what I went with. They worked out fine, at first. But then I started experiencing severe headaches and found myself straining my eyes more and more, just to see. Now, when I bought the contacts, the counter girl talked me into using up all of my insurance monies and buying 2 years worth of contacts. I readily agreed with this, because I was glad to not have to bother for awhile. I have 6 UN-OPENED boxes (with 2016 expiration date) of contacts that I cannot use. I called the Terre Haute office last Friday afternoon to see about exchanging these contacts that I cannot use for my other prescription, which is not as strong, and does not cause headaches and eye strain. The manager, Melissa, was very curt with me and told me I could not return and exchange them. I told her I was not going to give them my business anymore, and she said, “okay”. Really? Now I am stuck with all of these contacts that I cannot wear and it’s just “okay”? After all of the people I have referred to their office and all of the business I have given them, they cannot accommodate me this one time? I have never asked to return contacts before. I was not asking for a monetary compensation, I just want contacts that I can USE. Is that so much to ask?

I recently came in to order my contacts and the staff, who is always rude to their customers, "kindly" told me that my contacts would be at the store in about two days. By two days they must have meant two weeks because that's when I received them. I had tried calling several times to see when the contacts would be in and once again, they rudely told me to stop calling them and they would call me. I finally was fed up and called one last time and they told me they were in. They couldn't even call me when the contacts came in, after they told me not to call them anymore. I am very fed up with the customer service that the staff has. This is not my only bad experience with the Springfield, OH store, nor am I the only one fed up with their lack of customer service. They are rude to customers and would rather socialize than do their own job. Needless to say, I will not be returning to eyemart and I hope that someone looks into the attitude of the staff.

Last year I had an eye exam on the west side eye mart. I've been a customer there for years. The doctor changed my prescription, and I purchased 2 boxes of contacts and 2 pair of glasses. I started wearing the contacts 2 weeks later as I was traveling for work. Immediately I could tell the prescription was no good, as I could not read anything close. I returned there 1 month later and explained about the issue. I was told then I would have to pay for another exam, and there was nothing else they could do. I refused to pay again, so they refused to help. I went back in - more than a year after - and was given the same story. I explained the issue, but as usual there it fell on deaf ears. I eventually agreed to pay for the exam, but not the contacts since they are the ones that screwed up. They refused to do that. As I was discussing this,a female (don't know her name, but you can't miss her) approached me and asked if there was a problem. She then then told me in front of all the customers to stop yelling at "the help". I told her I was not yelling at all, and explained the problem for the forth time, and that I did return 1 month later after the purchase. She told me they had no record of me returning, and I explained that was their problem, and told her I didn't appreciate being called a liar. I eventually left, knowing this place has NO customer loyalty, and I'll be sure to explain this to everyone I can. She is extremely unprofessional, and that place stole my money by giving me the wrong prescription and refusing to replace them. I'll find a real eye doctor that doesn't end in MART that cares about their customers.

My daughter and I went to the Eyemart in Ashwaubenon WI. We had a exteremely rude employee wait on us. We had asked to see how much a pair of glasses were for her after insurance and we gave her the paper she threw down the paper and crossed her arms and said "What do you want me to do with this? then started with a major attitude. We were never treated so badly. After we never recieved the information I said, Maybe we should go somewhere else and she said, "what ever" for everybody to here, putting on a show. I was very dissapointed and my entire family has been going there for years and WILL NOT be returning. I feel really bad for anybody that has to go threw her. She should not be waiting on people. More people I'm sure will leave too if they have someone treat them so rudely.

Your people at your Yale location in Tulsa should be fired. I had cataract surgery done and went to your Yale store for glasses. Medicare pays for the 1st pair of glasses after surgery. your people filed the paper work for me. They filed it under the wrong social security number. When I found out about it from Medicare, I call the Yale store and told them about it. They refiled the paper work again. When I called Medicare to find out where we were at with the claim, Medicare told me that the paper work was file incorrectly and was mi9ssing information. They also told me that they faxed your store to get the correct information and where still waiting for a reply. I checked with your store and they said they did not know what I was talking about and that they did not get a fax from Medicare. I have filed a grevence with Medicare and will never pay another thing from eye mart again.

I WENT TO EYE MART TO GET EXAM AND GLASSES. SOMETHING SO SIMPLE TURNED INTO A NIGHTMARE. I HAD TO GO BACK 5-6 TIMES TO GET MY GLASSES; HAD TO HAVE ANOTHER EXAM BECAUSE I COULD NOT SEE OUT OF THE GLASSES AND THE DR TOLD ME MY VISION HAD CHANGED FROM ONE WEEK TO THE OTHER. THEY CALLED ME AND SAID I COULD PU MY GLASSES ANY TIME AFTER NOON ON A SATURDAY; WENT IN AT 4-5PM ON THAT SATURDAY AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD HAVE TO SEND THEM OFF. MY 2ND PAIR OF GLASSES I SEE DOUBLE WHEN DRIVING AND I'M USING MY FIRST PAIR AND TRYING TO FUNCTION WITH THEM. THEIR SERVICE IS HORRIBLE AND I WILL NEVER GO TO EYE MART AGAIN. BOTTOM LINE I HAVE ONE PAIR OF GLASSES APPROX 300.00; I CAN'T SEE OUT OF AND THE OTHER PAIR APPROX 200.00 THAT IS STILL NOT GOOD VISION. ACTUALLY I WOULD RATHER HAVE MY OLD LENS BACK I COULD SEE BETTER WITH THEM. MY OTHER PAIR IS ON MY DRESSER; ANYONE NEED FRAMES. YOU CAN HAVE THEM; CAN'T SEE OUT OF THEM ANYWAY. I WILL BE CONTACTING THEIR CORPORATE OFFICE. THIS WILL BE A GOOD SUBJECT ON FACEBOOK.

THIS IS JUST A WARNING TO ANYONE ELSE BEWARE EYEMART.VERY DISHONEST BUSINESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Insurance pays for an eye exam every year and new glasses every two years. Last December I went to Eye-Mart and purchased a pair of glasses. I was very satisfied at that point..the glasses fit perfectly. In May the ear piece broke off so I took them to the office thinking that I could have them repaired just like any other glasses I had before. I was told that the glasses could not be repaired due to a manufactures defect...I was told they had another pair of frames just like mine and I could pay $60.00 for them...I was mad...why should I be penalized $60.00 for the defect made by the manufacturer??? Then they were unable to locate the frames and I would have to wait until they ordered them. I drove the 20 miles home to have a message waiting on me that they had located them. These frames have never fit like the originals. My husband went in the other day for an eye exam and he was telling them that they had lost a good customer and he explained why. Later on that same evening the telephone rang and the ID said Eye Mart. I thought the call must be for him because he hadn't told me about what he had said. The Lady on the other end of the line asked for me...I couldn't imagine why...she proceeded to tell me that they knew I was unhappy with my purchase (In May..why did it take so long??) and asked what they could do to rectify the situation. She finally decided if I would come in and give them another $60.00 I could choose a new pair of glasses, lens, transitions...all included. Well I wasn't sure what I wanted to do so I took a couple of days to think about it. While being in town a few days later I decided to go in and choose the new glasses...paid them another $60.00 picked out the frames I wanted. Now they had only one lens and would have to order the other, it would take another few days. I got the call the glasses were ready. Now guess what?? The lens had been put in the frames but now the frames were bent and could not be fixed.I would think if the Service person had measured for the bifocals while the frames were on my face she might have noticed that they were bent..must have been another manufactuers defect.!! I think these people are selling second rate glasses and over charging the customers for them. I know it will not accomplish anything but I do intend to send a written complaint regarding this place to the Coorporate Office.

I just wanted to let you know why I'm leaving Eyemart as a customer. This is the second time I've come in for a repair of eyeglass frames that I purchased thru Eyemart that Eyemart says is out of warranty and cannot repair, the hinge broke on it and that I must buy brand new ones. I bought these frames as a second pair and have worn them 3 out of the 19 months I've had them. They were $140 (just for the frames. I cannot afford a company that can not help their customers out. I might as well buy online or from any stranger I see, because thats the kind I service I recieve now.

I saw the advertisement on TV said 2 pair of designer glasses for 87.88 or 99.00. when i got to the store and started to pick my glasses. i had 2 pair she said the would be 328.00.. i told her what i seen on tv she said nothing. this is false adverisement and i will be talking to my local television station. i paid 198.00 for 1 pair of glasses. one mad customer in Richmond Virginia

I went into the store on Sunday February 6, 2011 and we got there at 12:30 pm the store opened at 12 pm. we filled out our paperwork and sat for approximately 1 hour for the exam. The front desk informed me that my insurance superior vision was unavailable to verify on Sunday because they were closed, however the assistant manager, a young man, agreed to just bill me what my card stated I would owe. Then while we sat there waiting to order the glasses they took 4 people in front of us that came in after us and did not have appointment, it took us 2 1/2 hours total to get exam and order glasses, then we had to come back in 2 hours to pick the glasses up. While we were waiting to order the glasses a young lady that was there when we came in had came back to pick up her glasses, come on, that is ridiculous. When we did come back to pick up the glasses they had a printed receipt from Superior Vision and stated that they finally got through to verify, so apparently Superior was open for verification on Sunday and they just didnt take the time to look into it, instead caused me to spend 2 1/2 hours in that office and believe me i was not happy, and to top it all off i asked for the manager to voice my complaints and never even got so much as an apology from the management. I have 3 more family members that need glasses and I can assure you they will not be getting them from Eye Mart. Karen Garrett

Longview, Texas I have shopped and bought a pair of glasses at this store before. The last pair took 5 weeks to finally get them right. Now I have waited...they sent back the darker framed because the lenses were not right. I picked up the gold framed pair...the bifocal on the right side is totally off. I have to turn my head left to look down and read something directly in front of me. The left lense is o.k. I have asked for my money back and was informed that corporate would have to approve. I am waiting to hear!!! Extremely dissatisfied customer.

A friend recoommended Eye Mart. We stopped in to see about glasses for me after I had lost mine and needed and exam and glasses as soon as possible. I stopped at the Terre Haute, In. store and was told they had an 9:30 am appt. available. I said yes. It was 9;20. I was told that the lenses I chose had to be drilled. Paul said he might be able to get it done today he was not sure. It might be tomorrow. I told him I would appreciate which ever. I could manae til then. I said I would leave my cell number as I would be in town until about 4:00. Asked them to call an let me know. The doctor saw me was very nice. He gave me my presciption and I was told to wait outside. Not where. just outside. I sat for while and thought I must be in the wrong place. I went to the fitting room. An older lady came out looking for ADA. My name is Arla. Asked my friend if she was ADA. My friend realized that she was looking for me. Told me to come with her. She sat down. I told her I would like to know the prices. She said she would figure it as she went. I told her no-line bifocals, transition, She said the frames were $99. (they were clearly marked $99.), transition was $80. Lenses were $169.00. $35.00 drilling fee, exam $39. because I was buying glasses. I'm not sure what the charges were. She told me the toltal was $422. I asked about tax. She said there none. I agreed to the $422. She took my Visa card and left. When she returned she laid down the receipt for me to sign. She knew I did not have glasses (they were lost). I finally was able to see she had charged me $532.00. I said that was not what you said. She looked at the chages printed out from the computer. The frames were almost 2X what they were marked and the transittion lenses were listed as $130. I told her I could not do that. She finally agreed to return my monry to my account. She could not get the order to change. She asked "Paul" help because she could not get the order to change. Then she started over. The frames were marked $99. She said they come up at the 2X higher price. I said no. That is not what they are marked. Finally she again asked Paul. He said to use anoher pair with that price. She could not do that either. She tried over and over. I finally went and told Paul that she needed help. He came over and helped her. I could not pay the $130. for the transition. Felt like they should have done it for what it had been priced to me. She then took out $349. I left and when I had not heard from them by about 2:30 I called. The receptionist said just a moment, when she returned she said the lenses had to ordered and it would be 7 days. I asked why they had not called. I could not wait that long. The older lady came to the phone. She said they could fix me a pair to wear until the others came. I asked how. She said nothing. She went to get autorization from "Paul. He came to the phone. He said he did not tell me he could have them today. He did he said today or tomorow. He said no. I could come and pick out another choice. I told him I would come and get my money put back into my account. I did. He wrote on my return that I could not wait for the time frame offered. That was untrue. They did not check to see if the lenses were available before telling me they could. Then when they realized they did not have the lenses, they did not have the courtesy to call and tell me. The older lady had laughed in the middle trying to get the order set. I was there over 1.5 hours the first time. She said this is getting "hilarious". Not to me. I then had to return and get the prescrition because they had not given it to me. THEN when I check my account I find the money had not been put back in when I checked that evening. I also checked the next morning. It still was no showing up. The bank said sometimes it takes days for them to put it back. They took both amounts out and I had nothing to show for it except that I had to transfer money and they still changed me $15.00 for protection. I am sorry but under these circumtances I will never go back and my friend that went with me said she will also take her business elsewhre. Also the lady sitting next to me in the fitting rrom said she had been there 4 hours yesterday and still did not get her glasses. They said it would be another 45 minutesl She had to come back the next day and waiting again. I do not like to complain and don't most of the time but this esxperience had been a BAD one. Those who use the computers and charge customers need to know what to do and how to do them. Not laugh thinking it funny. She apologized before I left. I felt that was a little to late. HOW WOULD YOU FEEL ABOUT EYE MART after a experience like that. Arla Helderman
