This company has eroded by confidence as a health insurance company. I have told my story so many times that I am now getting confused.

Listen to this one! Before a sergical procedure I called Aetna for a physician referral. I went to the doctor they suggested who was "In Network" per the Aetna rep. I really like the doctor. I then had all of the medical proceedures and diagnoses codes lined up and discussed with Aetna by phone (before proceedures were done) and they were to pay very well because my deductible had been met. I was to pay a few hundred dollars that were not covered. In the end I pay several thousand dollars. Next, I find out that this doctor has 2 offices. One is "In Network" and one is "NOT In Network" and I had been to the out of network office! Crap!!! Meaning, I would have to pay the doctor up front on my credit card and get Aetna to reinburse me after the proceedures. OK fine I thought because Aetna had already approved everything. Bring in the Credit Card $$$$. Procedures were done. Aetna then came up with every excuse in the book not to pay me! I spent 9 1/2 MONTHS on the phone with them trying to get things straight. Each Aetna rep I spoke with had a different story/excuse/version/policy and none of them would call me back. I spent hours, days, weeks on hold, my credit card bill had to be paid and then.... top this!!! Aetna accidently paid the doctor a check of $925 and then reported me to credit collections to get the money back as an insurance overpayment! (The doctor did return the money but Aetna can't get it straight!) This November will be 1 YEAR of this crap!... to avoid bad credit rating and stop the wasted time on the telephone... I sent AETNA a check for $925. Two months pass and they don't cash the check. I call again this week and they say they do not have it. I stop payment on that check assuming it is lost in AETNA LAND ($35 bank fee). Upon request for a physical address (instead of a P.O. Box) so I can send another payment Fed-X or certified mail and receive a signiture to prove they received it... GUESS WHAT!!! They won't give one, I faxed and called for the person on the collection letter, CINDY COOK, to please call me and they still don't. Howz that for service! PS... Insurance. Is. Stupid.So, my question is are you ginivg the shots or is Mike? Or do you go to the Dr. once a week to get it? I gave them to myself, thinking I was a big brave nurse. But after week 2 I dreaded those mornings so much I would be shaking and crying getting the shot ready. Oh the things we go through for our babies! It worked though, that was my longest pregnancy ever!

For all of you complaining, your complaints will go unrecognized. They don't care. I am a psychiatrist with a solo practice and I advocate on behalf of my patients all the time against companies like Aetna. Save your efforts, instead file complaints with your state insurance commissioners, talk to your local news stations and newspapers, start online petitions and inundate your congressman's office with letters of complaint. The only way to eliminate such a predominant scourge is to force it to adapt and change to suit a new environment. Read about the ERISA act and you will see one of the myriad reasons they get away with the things they do.

If they take you seriously they won't do that.Solution: Just remain his friend and have self control or else he'lll bang you and then leave and you'll be sad. Aetna SUCK A$$! The old insurence company my employer had far exseeds Aetna in everything. Every employee here has complaints about AETNA. When you call and speak to a rep they read from a script, and pass the buck. I have had reps hang up on me and I didn't even curse. If I could afford another insurence I would DROP AETNA!

While Aetna may offer a variation of insurance products, I do not see how anyone other than individuals that have very good jobs or substantial income, can afford to pay a $594.00 per month premium. And I still need to be re-imbursed and I am waiting....next step I will contact the corporate offices.

YOU TREATMENT OF AN ILL PERSON GOES BELOW POOR. IN MY OPINION, THE PEOPLE WITH WHOM I HAVE HAD TO INTERACT, SHOULD BE FIRED, ON THE SPOT. THEY ARE NOT HELPFUL, TRUTHFUL, COMPASSIONATE ...OOPS CAN'T MAKE MONEY ON THAT....ESTHER BLOOMER WAS ONE REP. HER SUPERVISOR NEVER CALLED BACK. HORRIBLE PEOPLE TO DEAL WITH WHEN YOU OR A LOVED ONE IS SICK. WHY SHOULD BERTOLINI MAKE MORE MONEY THAN ANY DOCTOR IN AMERICA.
