Used to Work here

I worked here as a Store Manager and and Assistant Manager. Other than working consistently over 60 hours a week I had 4 store managers and 2 district managers in one year until I was promoted as a last resort. I quite 2 months into it and found other work. I would advise others to not work here as they are constantly understaffed and the information given to employees is always incomplete. Many of the reviews here are true but not because the employees truly dont care but rather because they simply dont know and have been given unclear and indirect information to act on. It is too bad because this company should have been so much fun to work for. The look in a child's eye when they see the absolute coolest toy they;ve ever seen is diminished by the poor customer service, mislead employees and the like.

stroller

I bought a stroller and forgot to request the free baby bag with the promotion so i called them to see if I can get the free bag and they told me they could not help when I first called. So i call again and they told me i could take the stroller back get by money back. They r real stupid instead of giving the free bag they preferred to lose a purchases and future customer. Be careful when you order from this company.

Missing Product

Today is the 3rd time that I have received an empty box for the same item from Toys R Us. I have spend over 5 hrs on trying to get the product. I have been given good consideration on the phone, but still no product;so, I will try again

disgusted with toys r us

toys r us has no respect for their customers. sfter being told i would be called back on a cocern i never heard from them. no one wants to take responsibility for my issue and no one is trying to rectify it.

Does not honor Price Match Guarantee

Beware!!! Toys R Us does not honor and hold up to their price match guarantee. This is bogus. You will buy an expensive product from them at full price, get home and find it for $50 cheaper, go back to store for the price match and they will not do it. Buyer Beware!!!!

I just left the Freehold, NJ store fuming. This is on the 30th, so after the holidays. Store is pretty empty at 4.30 pm. I'm waiting at the check out counter which has 3 customers ahead of me. I looked over at the electronics section which has a counter too. There was an employee who was talking to someone but when he saw me looking at him, he averted his gaze. He did not call the next person waiting in line to be helped so I thought he ws busy and kept waiting in my line. Next time I look over he has 3 other customers who came after me but were helped before me! All the time I'm waiting patiently while my line is being helped by a lady called "Connie" who had the most unpleasant expression on her face!! When I reached my turn finally, all I said to her was "I wish the associate in electronics has announced he was open and for the next person waiting to come over". To that "Connie" looked away and mumbled something under her breath. I said "Excuse me, what did you say?" she says "I'm talking to myself! Am I not allowed to talk to myself ??"!!!!When it was very clear she was saying something derogatory and for no provocation at all!!! Where are the days when customer service was given with a smile ? She spoiled this experience for me when I was with my kids and having a pleasant time. And she wasnt even a young kid, she was a middle aged lady. ToysRUs needs to hire pleasant polite people who like being around children. If not, it wont be long before their sales will be affected bcoz people dont want to go there anymore !!

ordered a helmet online at toys r us

we spent over 2000 dollars at toys r us and received a $20 gift card for purchasing a Nintendo 3ds. so we used the gift card online to purchase a helmet in November. the helmet never comes and we call toy r us just to be told it was ups fault. after that the helmet never arrives again.. now it's after Christmas I call the cooperate number this time and they tell me the same thing but I tell them this happened 2 times already so he checked with someone and they said it wasn't in stock!! when we ordered it the website said in stock,, both employees from customer support said it was in stock also. really bad customer support and on top of that they had a attitude as they told me was the shipping company's fault.

Misleading Signage; bogus Check Acceptance

I went to the Lancaster, CA last night ( December 23, 2012) and left very disgusted with my experience. First I had doll, part of the FAO collection. The signage said 40% off but when I checked the price there was no reduction. I approached one of the floor staff who check and got the same response. She gave me of the signs it when I got to the register the cashier refused to honor it. I ask for the manager and she also refused with a smirk on her face. I did not purchase the doll but I had other items to purchase. I wrote a check and that was refused. Per the manager; "there is nothing negative ( which I know) but we can't push it through". I'm not sure what's happening with this Toys R US but I agree with a previous writer that addressed the poor customer service and even worse personnel. This the second that I have experienced the sign issue. Another issue is the store is not well kept. There is merchandise all over floors which is a safety hazard and has the potential to be quietly to the company. This will be my last trip to Toys R US.

Poor customer service

I made a special order at the Greenville ,SC store. I called for over a week to see if it was in. They either didn't answer the phone or put me on hold and never picked back up. Two weeks after it was suppose to be in I finally got in touch with them. My order has been in for a week and they did not call me. I talked to the manager who said that was incorrect it just got in today and he is unwilling to compensate me for my wasted time and very late birthday gift to my daughter. I will never shop with this company again. They are incompetent

Horrible Warranty

I'm away from my family right now in Germany due to Service to our Country. My daughter had a DS that we bought the extended warranty for, and it had some problems and we had to send it in. We waited a month and then my wife started making calls to the service desk to find out what is going on. They told my wife that the UPS had left it at our door and that was their confirmation that it was delivered. Now we are out a DS because it never got to us and they are refusing to help us with this. If you are going to send merchandise back to a customer have it to where you need to have it signed for. This is just piss poor service from this company. Now we don't know what to do about our daughters DS.

RIDICULOUS

I have now been on hold for over 1 hour...including numerous transfers and this is my 3rd day of attempting to talk to someone who actually has read their own literature and know how it works. I was trying to shop on-line and the coupon they sent me wouldn't work. I was given 2 incorrect reasons why it wouldn't work and had to read the coupon to both these individuals to show them their reason was incorrect. On the third transfer, they just disconnected me. Second day told me, I needed to try again in 48 hours. Waited. Have made 7 calls today all day long and nothing is better. Have been transfered all over the place and disconnected repeatedly. Just got an actual person. This is my last try after this I shop elsewhere, if they do not solve my issues. Okay Guys says he can try to help but will be a long hold time again while he tries to get help. recommends I wait a week....by which time my coupons have expired. Told him I could just shop elsewhere. ...He agreed ...so I will

Positive Feedback among many negatives

It seems like most of these reviews I've read are negative so I just wanted to throw out a positive one. I've never had any problems with TRU but I really believe it depends on the staff they hire and their knowledge of their products. Most of the kids are young and are just trying to get a paycheck and I can understand the bad customer service but sometimes (especially at the North Olmsted, OH store), you get great employees that are genuine about their job and want to help. Kuddos to North Olmsted!

WEST VALLEY STORE

This store has got to be the WORST when it comes to answering the phone and customer service. I was trying to call them to get info on a online order i made. Today is 11-28-2012 Its 10:40 am and This is the 3rd times I've called to get a hold of someone. each time no one answers and I'm on hold FOREVER. I'm on hold now as I'm typing this review and my timer on the phone is at 45 minutes and counting, o"ya the time before this was 35 minutes and when they did answer they picked up the phone and just hung up!! I will NEVER ORDER FROM THE WEST VALLEY STORE AGAIN AND ILL MAKE SURE MY FAMILY DOES NOT AS WELL.

Horrible service

The employees at toys r us need to go back to school and get some knowledge into their small brains! Horrible customer service and it's pretty sad this is directed to the management! I guess anybody can be a manager these days! Will never spend another penny at this company. Who does the hiring for these stores. Keep it up hiring managers and this store will start to go under. Horrible reputation, especially your store in kenwood Ohio.

horrible customer service

I have never written a review online for anything and I feel like I am a very positive and patient person. However, after dealing with ordering 3 items online from Toys R Us, I am very frustrated and have lost my patience with them. I will never buy anything from Toys R Us again and I will request that my friends and family take their business elsewhere. After ordering 3 items for in store pick up, I received and email stating that my order had been canceled. Since the website stated that the items were available, I called customer service to see why the order had been canceled. They explained that the items were not available at the store. I talked them through my order process and they agreed that the items were at the store (4 in the back and 13 on the shelf for one item). They suggested I call the store. So I did. Before I even told the sales clerk what item I was calling about, she said they were out of stock. I explained what had happened and she told me that the items were not actually in stock, but were put on layaway by customers but still appeared as available online. Wow, seems like that is not the best system. Keep in mind that the only description of the item that I was inquiring about what "a remote control truck", she still knew that the item was not available. I requested to speak to a manager, but he/she was not available. I left my name and number and 8 hours later, I still have not heard from them. I will not be purchasing anything from Toys R Us, but they will hear from me at the store and at their corporate offices.

Legal Secretary

I have been trying to reach SOME ONE to get an address to submit a garnishment, and no body seems to be at their desk or answering phones, the system just kept telling me to try back at another time. All I need is an address, and the persons name to address it to. I work in Michigan and long distance calls have to be made, but not several times to the same place with the same outcome of every call.

do not buy from them. 2nd year in a row. ordered blackfriday items. got canceled 4 days later. now cant get it at price advertised. horrible customer service.

Toys r us protection plan

I brought a tablet from toys r us and got the protection plan, well i have been waiting for three months for a check they say they put in the mail, this store has been nothing but a nightmare for the holidays no one can help you at all do not shop at the Boynton Beach, florida store located on congress ave. I will shop at Target for now one all toys r us cares about is making money and ripping people off shame on u.

FREE LAYAWAY MISLEADING ADD

TOYS R US POSTED FREE LAYAWAY WHICH IS A MISLEADING AND LYING ADD. IT IS NOT FREE AND ONLY THE RESTOCKING CHARGES ARE. Valdosta, Ga has the worst customer service and manager at their store. Will never shop there again. Called to verify they had a product for my son, they promised me they did even checked the sku number. Called back twice and again they verified they had it. Drove 2 hours to get there since I live in Florida and when I got there the manager got the bed which was wrong and then gave me a different price then what I was quoted. The manager said sorry nothing I can do for you and I had to drive 2 drive back home for 2 more hours. Worst experience ever.
