Let me be the first to say it...NEVER WORK HERE. I have been an employee at store #596(New City, NY) for quite some time and I've about had it. Your buisiness practices are, to say it as best as I can, apalling. You claim to be a store where the employees are a team. I can say first hand that that's an upright lie. The cdh's are overpaid, rude, inconsiderate, and much more. All negative. The cdh at our store Lillian is the most incompitent, rude, and unappreciative person I have EVER had the misfortune of working for. There are many violations at this store, including many minor labor laws. Specifically, breaks. In NY, the laws state that even when minors are working less than 4 hours, they are entitled to one. I have received none on any of my shifts under 4 hours. This means for every time I worked on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, you will receive one violation. I've been working here for close to two years. There are more than 10 people whom this happened to. Also, she has overhired and is looking to cover her tracks. Schedules have been cut excessively and the availability of each employee is disregarded. Within 2 weeks, 9 people have been hired, and we were at full capacity. This is delibertly done to force employees out. I work two jobs to pay my bills, and the $90 a week doesn't pay for much. You wouldn't know about that, because your six digit salaries pamper you, while your hardest working employees suffer. I suggest you do some quality control and have these injustices investigated. I am prepared to go to the UFCW Union, Ahold USA, the Better Buisiness Beareu, and local news stations. Please do something about this before I do.

My autistic son Derrick worked at your Quincy MA store for 13 years. In August of 2011, he was maligned, bullied, robbed and fired by an opportunistic asst manager named Rashawn who doesn't have any respect for mentally challenged people. My son gave your company good service for 13 years the customers and his fellow employees loved him and he felt like he was a member of a family. Nonetheless, he is extremely depressed by your company's treatment and I and my family and friends are extremely irate. From recent feedback it seems like he is a victim of a management trend of getting rid of disabled employees. Shame on you. I will never spend another dollar in your stores and my large circle of family and friends have made the same pledge.

I have shopped at the Tarrytown S&S since it opened, that would be many years. I aways found the store to be dirty and out of stock. I have never complained, until now. S&S opened a new store in Tarrytown, and closed the old one. I was so happy that I could not wait until it opened. I shopped at their North White Plains Super Shop and it always had fresh merchandise. However, the new Super S&S was a disapointment. I asked the produce clerk, if he had fruit, packaged, that was fresh and he said no! All of the packaged fruit, melons, pineapple and mangos, were not fresh. He did not ask me what was wrong, but just walked away. That is not acceptable. I went there at 6 P M to get a salad, and the salad bar was almost bare. People getting out of work look forward to getting a fresh salad, sometimes after work. I would assume that at 6 P M salad items would be fresh. This is very poor management, by the producer manager and the store manager. I am not sure, if any corporate S&S managers will read this, but I certainly hope that they do. I am a very dissatisfied customer, and have NEVER, written a bad review or complained. Please correct the problem. Food prices are souring, and consumers want fresh produce. Thank You

WHAT A STORE!!! I cant express how thankful I am to have such a wonderful supermarket in my neighborhood. I live in Hicksville N.Y and have been a long time King Kullen Shopper. Recently my local grocery store closed down and I was forced to do my families shopping at the Hicksville Stop and Shop on Old Country Road next to eh Hess gas station. I never really shopped at this store due to a negative experience I had a few years back with a rude manager I believe his name was Chris. Well that is certainly not the case now. I was taken back by how friendly and helpful the staff were. Also most importantly they had everything I needed and when shopping for 7 people that is a rare thing to come by these days. I am almost glad that the King Kullen closed down now because I would have never experienced the level of service and convenience I have ever had. Keep up the good work.

The Northport NY store on RT25a completely ignores customer comments regarding product discontinuance. Recent examples carried Rays NY onion bagels no longer in case several memos to manager no change. Klondike crunch a staple for years now not carried. Turkey Hill black cherry ice cream (48 oz) best flavor I have ever tasted in my 71 years of eating ice cream no longer carried. V8 Fusion orange flavor was best tasting and I think fastest mover asked for this half dozen times no longer available. I could keep going for an hour, the issue is the managers just ignore customer request. I have been a Stop n Shop customer at this store since it first became Stop n Shop, I spend approximately $600-800 a month out of my Social Security check and I would like them to pay attention once in a while.

My husband, a route salesman, works for the Odwalla Company, which until tomorrow, has serviced your company, and very well I might add. He is a faceless, nameless man to you, but to me, and his company I'm sure, he is a valuable human being. I am sure that the other spouses of these route men feel the same way. But to increase your profits, which I believe are pretty good anyway, you have decided to cut the sales delivery of these people, and change your delivery to a "drop ship" type of delivery. Therefore some of these sales people, perhaps my husband, will lose their jobs, since your stores were their biggest account. But you only look at numbers on a page, not into the eyes of these people, who have families depending on them. Some hopefully will find other jobs, maybe not. The economy is still suffering. My husband who works very hard and has been in this industry for over 30 years, and works so hard, sometimes up to as many as 12 or more hours a day, may not be considered "marketable". He is so anxious today about our future, with 2 children in college, and fear for the future after tomorrow, I just needed to get my feelings down on paper and perhaps have someone who has some corporate authority at your company headquarters see this and perhaps consider the human beings lives your decisions are effecting.

Stop and Shop is a terrible place to work. (as many people have told me) Most of the store managers are uneducated (no seriously, like associates degrees at most), make over 100K a year, while the ones with the masters degrees are all the assistant store managers who are held accountable for the store manager's terrible decision making and sheer laziness. If you want to drive over 40 miles one way to work, enjoy spending your days in front of a computer re-doing the budget which has changed 10 times in one day, have pointless "conference calls" when you're the only one running the store, forced to stay overnight because they're predicting one inch of snow which is going to cause a massive blackout, called and texted multiple times on your day off by your boss because the cookies are expired, then work for stop and shop. Several of my closest friends are managers for this company and come home and hit the bottle on a nightly basis. However, I love the stories they bring back to me. Only good thing is that most of their assistant managers make 70K-100K a year and get good bonuses. Most people don't realize how much money that person wearing a tie whose bagging your eggs is making an hour. Some food for thought.

With all of the good you have done with "Triple Winners" in the past, this year you prostitute the promotion by offering $$-off on particular products...............shame on you AND the aspiring young college educated PLUS executive who thought this out......BADLY!!! I can assuredly predict your sales of these tix. are going to go WAY down this year - what a corporate "brainstorm", or maybe a "brainfreeze"??? Coupling this with other annoyances, like this morning 4 registers open - 2 of which were Express Lanes........duh-h-h-h, the waiting customers with hefty baskets were three to five deep to get to the register (in Lincoln, RI). There are just too many other choices out there to give any more of my money to Stop & Shop!!!!!!!!!!

I had a bad experience at the Shop n Save store in St. Louis--on So. Lindberg (63123)late Sat. evening. I had to pick up a few last minute things I needed for Easter--when one of the checkers said-'The store is closed'--I said 'Oh that's fine--I'm ready'. Went up front and was told the deposits were in and I couldn't use a Debit--I did not see a sign saying it would close early--I even looked when I went outside and no one mentioned it when I came in. Why didn't someone look to see if there were any customers in the store before they decided to pack up and hurry home? To say the least I was very upset. They said they announced it!! Well I guess I didn't hear it or I would have left the store with my items --instead I went home without..!! This is a 24 hour store--but not before Easter--I guess.

The West Hempstead Stop & Shop is one of the cleanist super markets I have ever shopped in. When you walk in your eyes light up from all beautiful displays they have at the doors. The floral department has gorgeous flowers every single time. I have never seen a dairy department always full with every yogurt flavor I am looking for. The fridge where the milk is kept smells amazing, almost like a laundry mat, which is unusal for milk coolers. The girl who is always stocking the shelves is always so friendly to me. The store is ran so beautiful and is very well maintained. I love stopping by their seafood department, the employees who work there go above and beyond. Whenever I'm in a bad mood I know food shopping there will always put a smile on my face. My only complaint would be the deli department. I use to love getting my cold cutts there but the line is always so long. I see a lot of new faces, so maybe there just a little slower. Other then that the store is one of the best super markets in long island. I tell all my family and friends! Keep up the good work!

THE STOP AND SHOP IN HEMPSTEAD TPK IN LEVITTOWN, NY TREATS THE SCUM THAT RETURNS WAGONS LOADED TO THE TOP OF BOTTLE RETURNS BETTER THAN THEIR PAYING CUSTOMERS WHO ACTUALLY SHOP IN THE STORE. I HAVE GIVEN UP TRYING TO RETURN BOTTLES BECAUSE I CAN NEVER GET NEAR A MACHINE. THEY REFUSE TO TAKE THE BOTTLES BACK AT THE CUSTOMER SERVICE COUNTER. I NOW SLASH THE LABELS OFF THE BOTTLES AND PUT THEM IN MY RECYLCE CAN--SO THE SCUM CAN'T ROB ME TWICE.

I first would like to say I've been a Stop And Shop customer for over 20 years. I was first introduced to your supermarket in Hamden CT where I attended college. Recently in Staten Island NY a King Kullen was closing and Stop And Shop was taking over . At first I was excited that your store was taking over. However it appears that you missed a great opportunity to really shine. The Grand Opening was lack luster to say the least. While I walked through the store it seemed very bland. Also there was a terrible odor by the fish department which permeated throughout the store. In addition the store was lacking product. I have been in sales most of my career the was no happy faces, warm smiles by the staff. I know you have terrific commercials on TV but this store did you no justice. Where was the sales??? The Promotions??? Where was the management??? Perhaps you can have another Grand Opening and get it right. Sincerely Eugene Spinosa

I shop at the Stop N Shop in Staten Island, NY on Hylan Boulevard. There are never any carts available. I was told they were stolen over one month ago and they were never replaced. I complained to store employees who told me to contact their corporate office. Why is it the customer's responsiblity to report this to their corporate office? What is the role of the store Manager?

PART 2: RE: NEWINGTON, CT STOP AND SHOP I E-MAILED YOU YESTERDAY RE: SMOKING RIGHT OUTSIDE OF THE ENTRANCES AND EXITS. I WAS TELLING MY BROTHER HE GOES HERE EVERYDAY. HE STATED TO ME THAT THEY DID ACTUALLY MOVE THE BENCH AND PUT A SMOKERS ASHTRAY. IF THAT IS TRUE THEN THAT MANAGER DESERVES TO BE COMMENDED FOR TAKING ACTION THAT NO OTHER MANAGER DID. OTHERS REALLY SEEMED NOT TO CARE. I WILL SPEAK WITH HIM PERSONALLY AND THANK HIM IF INDEED THIS IS A FACT THAT HE TOOK ACTION. I AM GOING TO GO SHOPPING THERE TODAY IF I GO THERE AND THERE ARE NO SMOKERS BY THE DOOR. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL ASTHMA ATTACKS AT YOU NEWINGTON LOCATION JUST TRYING TO GO INSIDE AND THEN NEVER BEING ABLE TO . TAHNK YOU I WILL GET BACK TO YOU AFTER I VISIT THERE THIS MORNING.

I am very upset at the florist at store 521 in Peekskill, NY they generally have a great display of flowers and usually are fresh. Although the floral manager could use a little work. There have been many times I have gone into the store to see the floral manager outside smoking away with a group of people, and imagine on my way out there she is again with the same group of people smoking away. Not to mention I have gone to the floral counter to see her cutting and playing with some sort of coupon book she has all over her working space. This is a concern of mine because I see many other employees workig hard and she just seems to be doing as she pleases. Also to see that at times shes had a pile of nonfloral products on the counter. It has made me ask the question how much does she get paid to sit outside and smoke cigarettes, cut and organize coupons and go shopping looking for these coupon deals she finds. Also another annoyance is constantly hearing the floral phone call going off while I am shopping. How many people place an order or have a question about flowers? I could only imagine the amount of time she spends on the phone and I am pretty sure most of the time person phone calls. One time while doing a rather large shopping order I must of counted that thing went off over 5 times just for the florist alone. Also to see her always walking around getting items to purchase. Its just so sad to see many other people in the store that would be a better fit for this position. My advice for the company get her out of there. She is stealing your time and money!!!!!!!!

TO WHOM MAY CONCERN, MY NAME IS ROBERT CAMPIGLIA EMAIL JC11704@OPTONLINE.NET PHONE NUBER 631-956-0201. I AM78 YEARS OLD. ON JANUARY 1,2012 I VISITED THE STOP & SHOP ON 365 RTE 109 WEST BABYLON, NY 631-587-9455 TO GET A PRESCRIPTION FILLED, I JUST LEFT THE DOCTORS OFFICE WITH A FEVER, STOPPED TO GET MY ORDER FILLED.UPON ARRIVAL AT THE PHARMACY, THE WOMEN WAS EATING LUNCH AT 1:30 TOLD ME IT WOULD BE ABOUT 20 MINUTES AS HER ASSISTANT WAS OUT TO LUNCH. WHILE WAITING, HE APPEARED AND HEARD OUR CONVERSATION AND JUST KEPT STARING AT ME. I ASKED, WHY HE WAS STARING AT ME. HE REPLIED MAYBE YOU SHOULD GO SOMEHWERE ELSE. THE LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE, THE RUDENESS AND THE ABUSIVE MANNER IN WHICH I WAS TREATED IS APPALLING. WHY WOULD A CUSTOMER HAVE TO WAIT 20 MINUTES FOR AN EMPLOYEE TO FINISH LUNCH IF THEY ARE THE ONLY ONE SERVICING THE COUNTER WHILE OTHERS ARE ON LUNCH BREAK. I AM A NEW CUSTOMER TO THIS PHARMACY,I CHANGED RECENTLY TO STOP & SHOP BECAUSE IT WAS CLOSER AND MORE CONVENIENT FOR ME.I THINK THE PROFESSIONALISM OF YOUR STORE PHARMACY NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AND REVIEWED. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR IMMEDIATE ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER. ROBERT CAMPIGLIA

I HAVE AN ISSUE WITH THE NEWINGTON, CT STOP AND SHOP. ISN'T THERE A RULE ABOUT EMPLOYEE'S OR EVEN CUSTOMERS SMOKING OUTSIDE THE STORE. ISN'T THERE SUPPOSED TO BE DESIGNATED SMOKING SIGNS AND NO SMOKING SIGNS NEAR THE ENTRANCE'S AND EXITS? AT WORK THERE HAS TO BE SIGNS SAYING NO SMOKING WITH IN 25 FEET NEAR THE ENTRANCES AND EXITS. I AM A PERSON WHO HAS ASTHMA,EMPHYSEMA AND COPD. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL ASTHMA ATTACKS TRYING TO GO IN TO THE STORE. LAST WEEK I HAD TO GO BACK THREE DIFFERENT TIMES AND STILL THERE WERE SMOKING OUTSIDE SO I HAD TO GO BACK HOME AGAIN NOT GETTING MY GROCERIES. I HAVE COMPLAINED TO SEVERAL MANAGERS AND THEY SAY THEY WILL SPEAK TO THE EMPLOYEES AND STILL IT KEEPS HAPPENING. I ASKED THEM CAN'T YOU HAND OUT LETTERS IN EMPLOYEES PAY CHECKS STATING THERE IS NO SMOKING NEAR THE ENTRANCES AND EXITS? OR PRESENT THE SUBJECT AT MEETINGS. THEY TELL ME THE SMOKING AREA IS AT THE BENCH AT THE END OF THE SIDEWALK, NORMALLY THAT IS WHERE I LIKE TO PARK DUE TO THERE BEING AN OVER HANG THERE FOR WHEN IT RAINS OR SNOWS. WHY CAN'T THEY MAKE IT ON THE SIDE OF THE BUILDING OR LIKE BIG Y STORES NOT AT ALL. BIG Y IS A NON SMOKING FACILITY. I GUESS EVEN THOUGH I WILL HAVE TO GO 20 OR 25 MINUTES OUT OF MY WAY THAT IS WHAT I WILL HAVE TO DO AND STOP SHOPPING AT STOP AND SHOP AS I HAVE SINCE ABOUT 37 YEARS AGO. THE MANAGEMENT TELLS ME THEY WILL HAVE TO SPEAK TO THE STOP AND SHOP ATTORNEYS TO SEE WHAT THE RULE OF THUMB IS. I GUESS I WILL CALL MY LOCAL TV STATION WHO HELPS PEOPLE WITH ISSUES AND HAVE THEM GO THERE AND FILM EMPLOYEES AND CUSTOMERS AT THE ENTRANCES AND EXITS AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS. THEN CALL THE AMERICAN LUNG ASSOCIATION AND GET THEM INVOLVED AS WELL AS RICHARD BLUMENTHAL AND THE GOVERNOR. I HAVE ALSO WITNESSED THIS MY SELF, THE SMOKERS GO IN DO NOT WASH THERE HANDS AND TOUCH OUR FOOD AT THE DELI WITH THERE BARE HANDS WITH CIGARETTES ON THEM. DO YOU KNOW ONE CIGARETTE PUT OUT OVER 4,000 CARCENGENIC CHEMICALS AND THEY ARE TOUCHING OUR FOOD AS WELL AS SMELLS LIKE A WALKING CIGARETTE. DON'T YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR CUSTOMER'S WELL BEING?

I have concerns about your Hicksville store #559. Since the departure of Christopher Myers as manager, the store has had a sharp decline.Trying to save money, your corporate office has seen fit to hire ill mannered children who text at the registers, blow smoke on customers while at break and have the audacity to wear skin tight leggings and think it looks professional. Some of your employees have hygiene and personal appearance issues ( the obese Hispanic man in your Produce Dept. with the filthy shirts and the thin anemic looking man in the Over the Counter drug and beauty aids.He was until recently smelling like ripe garbage with his soiled shirts; he also seems to have a distinct dislike for underwear, he displays his crack often.) Your shelves are filthy and when I ask a few of the clerks that I am friendly with why I don't see them as much they say their hours have been cut; they only get 4 hour shifts and maybe 4 days only. How do you expect to run the store properly with that? Your Management team leaves much to be desired now. Vincent Rizzo is the store manager and Al somebody is his boss... and they should both be made to clean the store with the same resources, hours and pay as their custodians. How sad to see this now; never did this occur when the lady manager Ann/Annette was there; and the employees seem respected and appreciated more when David the manager of the cashiers was there. Wake up,pick up,stock up and for God's sake lift up the morale of your employees.Poorly staffed, unkempt, unclean - the list goes on and on!
