I recently needed to match some paint from your store in Howell, N.J. It took a few trips and each time I went they were all sooooo friendly and patient with me no matter how many times I came back to get them to add a little more "antique white" till I got a perfect match. But I must call special attention to the Asst. Manager "STAN GOLDER" for treating me as exceptional as all the other customers who were there to make a "new" purchase. (And his expertise in finding the right formula that I needed.) I've worked for Lord & Taylor 18 yrs. and we're all about "customer service" and "repeat business" and I can tell you that I will surely be a repeat customer in your store.

We purchase paint for our outdoor gate. We were told it should last 5-10 years. The painting job cost us $1,800.00 plus cost of paint. Withing 5 months the paint has fadded and failed. We purchased their best paint as told to us by their consultant. Industrial Enamel called Safety Red #B54R38- 6174064 We need help in resolving this problem.

How odd your spokesman, David Bronstadt, raves about his "team" on your SW commercial. He used to be based out west. His team was a girl who was a genius with paints and a carpenter who could build anything David could envision. He dumped them suddenly and moved to Miami. Now he's touting your product and raving about how important his "team" is. I can't be the only person wondering what sort of team leader David Bronstadt is. Maybe you should tweak your commercial a little bit.

Thank you so much for the gift (emergency system) will be very useful. I have nothing but praise for the local HATTIESBURG HWY 98 WEST store. The employees there are very friendly and helpful. They are very good at helping match paint, no matter what I bring in. They help pick colors for my own home, my wife was very pleased. When you walk in they greet you by name, and I have never been anything but very satiesfied with the customer service I receive at this store. And will recommend this paint to any of my customers. THANKS

I've been reading through everyone's complaints and I would like to address some of them: Annette - Sounds like the guy had little to no customers that day, in which case he had made no cash transactions. It is true that his drawer would have been short, and unfortunately Sherwin isn't always crystal clear about what that means. He probably didn't know that his computer would have understood why his drawer was short, and was trying to save his own tail from looking like he stole ~$20. DC - My guess is that on your first visit the employee noticed that you were spending quite a bit of money in the store, and would probably be a returning customer, therefore they tried to help you out on pricing, probably putting you on a contractor's account so you could enjoy that contractor's pricing level. I do this al the time in my store, but I let people know that I'm doing it so they don't have issues like this. On your second visit, since the sale was already going to give you a pretty good price, they couldn't back off from that price any farther. In the three months between your visits, we probably had a price increase (it sucks, but it happens), which accounts for $70 difference. Mark Yoder - Really, guy? We'll help you out, but when you bust a piece off a your roller, we're not going to be able to order only that replacement piece. We don't manufacture the sundry products, therefore we can't distribute their parts individually at our own discretion. I'm sorry to be rude, but use your noodle. When you break your coffee maker you don't go to Walmart expecting that they can order parts for your Cuizinart coffee maker, you call CUIZINART. Kenneth Ayers - Also.. Really? You placed a special order for paint that you clearly stated you understand is 1)high in price, 2) not carried in the store. When special orders are required, shipping costs come into play. Especially when you need something in a rush, (which means less than 7-10 days). $17 to rush deliver ANYTHING is reasonable. Now, there is no way that the paint was delivered on the same day unless either your store is EXTREMELY close to an SW distribution center or the manufacturer themselves (in which case it's still extremely unlikely), or it was delivered from another store in the area (in which case you wouldn't be required to pay delivery fees). The delivery fees charged are not fees that Sherwin Williams makes up or even gets to keep. They are charged either by outside vendors which provide the products, or by the delivery service that delivers rush orders. Bitching about shipping is like bitching about having to tip your waitress. Unless your package arrived and it was unusable, consider your money well spent.

I WANTED TO THANK YOU FOR THE XMAS GIFT OF THE EMERGENCY SYSTEM. WHAT A THOUGHTFUL THING TO DO FOR A OLD, FAITHFUL COMMERCIAL CUSTOMER. FOR OVER 30 YEARS WE HAVE NEVER EVER USED ANYTHING BUT SHERWIN-WILLIAMS PAINT. YOUR LOCAL STORE HERE IN SELMA, AL IS SUCH A DELIGHT TO SHOP IN,AND STAFFED PROFESSIONALY. THANKS AGAIN, AND I PUT THE SYSTEM IN MY TRUNK - WOULD NOT LET CREW GET THEIR PAWS ON IT. MARTHA STRICKLAND

My daughter purchased paint from your store in Pensacola, Florida on 12/9/11 with cash. She ordered more than she needed...was not paint that had to be mixed....I believe this states your "Return Policy" as follows: Upon showing of proof of purchase, Sherwin-Williams will accept the return of Products, excluding tinted paints, stains and other coatings and opened or cut rolls of wallcovering, provided Purchaser returns any such Products to a Sherwin-Williams retail store within thirty (30) days of purchase. Any returned special order wallcoverings will be subject to a 25% re-stocking fee based on the purchase price paid for such Products. She took the un-opened paint back to the store and talked with "Jeff" who was the same person she purchased it from. She was told that he could give her a check...no local bank there...or she could take it back with her to Birmingham, Al. and see if they could give her her money back. She told them she paid cash and would appreciate cash back. He told her he couldn't refund her the money...would make him SHORT IN THE CASH DRAWER!!! I have dealt with your company quite a few times in the past and have NEVER been told that! What the heck??? What has happened to your credibility??? This is ridiculous!!!

Was lured in by the 40% off sale running 1st weekend of November 2011. Bought all exterior mid-grade paint for my 1,900 SF rental property. Total bill came to $725, with the discount. Funny thing is, I had just painted the exterior of my 2,200 SF personal home three months earlier, with the same stuff, all in mid grade - total bill in paint? $795. Without a sale going on. Somehow my 1,900 SF rental now has $1,200 worth of paint on it (non sale price) while my own personal 2,200 SF residence has $795 worth of paint - this just doesn't add up. Also, really plan ahead with these guys - I called in my paint order three hours before I was to pick it up. When I showed up 3.5 hours later, I was kept waiting inside the store for an additional hour. I lost my work crew for the day becasue of this 90 minute delay. You can only keep a group of guys sitting around doing nothing for so long.

I have been a SWcustomer for many yrs now I am trying to use exclusively the very low or NO VOC paint....just bought a 43 voc quart on sale for 15 but found a NO voc paint at sears for 10....which went on beautifully....tried to return the paint to SW was told since it was tinted,,,cannot return.... SW NO voc paint is just too expensive compared with other brands...I will shop elsewhere for paint needs from now on... you need to try and help the environment and make it safe for children inhomes to not breathe in bad air from high VOC paints and make the NO VOC paint more affordable....thank you

we spend $50,000 per year and they wont (cant)do anything we ask them to do ?the customer service is absolutely pathetic.they dont care.like 10 year old kids playing xbox. what a joke

I am looking for anyone that has had a problem with auto paint lifting and cracking due to the sales representative giving the wrong advice purchased from Dunlop Store St. Catharines Ontario. I have been battling now with the St. Catharines store and Head Office in Toronto for over 2 months now and no one will take responsibility nor will they even answer my calls. I am being forced to take further action I did hope they would stand behind their product and error but apparently not. Very disgusted

Today I stopped at the Milford, DE store and asked "Ben" if I could get a small plastic clip-on part for a paint roller. He said that he didn't have a part like that, and didn't think he could buy one. i asked him to call the company and see if the part could be ordered, and he later called me back and said that the small, 25 cent part could not be bought, and that the $15 roller had to be bought. I am supposed to throw away a perfectly good roller because the company won't sell a part to fix it? I do not want to do business with a company that operates like that. I prefer not to buy any paint or painting products, or anything else from a company that won't sell a small part to fix an item. If this is really the case, I hope many others voice their disapproval and boycott their products.

New Commercial!!!! Currently the best on TV. Very inovative and beautifully done. Who ever thought that maybe you might just WAIT for the next showing? Keep up the good work. Surely this cleaverness can go on forever. Thanks.

We placed an order for a quart of metallic paint & they charged us $16.95 for shipping!! Then the next week we placed an order for a different metallic paint by the quart & also for a clear coat for what we were painting. We knew the paint was high but DID NOT think that we would be charged DOUBLE SHIPPING because they were ordered the same day & I am sure delivered the same day. I was so mad, I listened to the cashere make all kinds of excuses & could see that she was really embarrassed, so I didn't say anytthing. I would like to know if there has been other complaints on these shipping charges!!! This is a real scam on Sherwin Williams part, they just pocket the extra money! My next stop is the Better Business Bureau!

My rep and my store manager are good at their job but I think this lies in the corporate realm and at this time we are looking at gathering information from other painting contractors in the area to file a class action law suit. I have tickets in stacks that are overpriced and in a scattered price range. The very same product is purchased by my employees hours earlier and hours later the same material has increased in price. The pricing is installed on the computer and yet when it is punched in it comes back overcharged. This is blatant and when we get credit back it is not clear where the money goes. We are currently being overcharged for material due to a warranty that must be in place yet it is the same warranty on the same material and the same application that would be utilized by any other company material. I am moving forward with any recovery possible and still have tickets from 2010 that are still not corrected and that means I must file a 1099c with the IRS which will ultimately lead to an audit of Sherwin Williams. We create the work that allows you to sell large quantities of material as we amass around $800,000.00 of contracts a year. I am not done trying to contact someone else and I will be seeking compensation.
