The steak n' shake in festus,I ordered a double steak burger and got a single steak burger. I wasn't that she didn't figure out my order when it was said three or four times. The the quality of the food wasn't there. the frys, burger and shake was all room temp.The staff maybe not all of them but most had the look like I'm to good severing you or screw off....there are some good workers there but they are lacking.

I have been working at Steak N Shake since Nov of last year. Within those couple of months I have been moved up to Shift Leader. I was loving my job and the people that worked there!! Until about 2 weeks ago our GM had to move to another store so we could get a replacement. They said our current GM wasnt doing his job.... So now we have this new guy. His very first day he comes in, doesnt greet his employees. Me and my waitstaff for third shift had to walk up to him and greet him. After that, the register on drivethru was like $5 short. He came up to the front and started yelling at us and pointing his finger in our faces like we are some little kids or something. Infront of costomers and everything. Not good. I told him that he would have to show us that because noone ever has. The managers are responsible for counting the drawers. He then proceeded to get in my face, tell me that we are going to fix that then he tells me not to let anyone touch my f***ing drawer because its my responsibility and then just walks off. Now, I have a really bad attitude. Everyone that works with me does know it. Im not proud of it and i am trying to work on it. It took everything I had in me not to say something that day. So, I just enjoyed my two days off and forgot about it. That following Friday, I go into work to find out 2 people have quit already. One of the managers put in their two week notice and my service trainer moved to another store. Thats not even the bad part...Thats not even the bad part. Friday thru Sun are our craziest days. We actaully have people lined up waiting for tables. He gets so frustrated he just walks out. When he does come back one of the waitstaff walks up to him and tells him, "If we all just take a deep breath everything will be ok." He turns around and tells her he doesnt need that extra bs from her and that is insubordination. Obviously this man doesnt know what insubordination means let alone his job description. Within a matter of 3 weeks this place has become a VERY hostile work environment. Ive put in my two weeks notice. This isnt the place to work even if its just part time. Oh and one more thing, we have half price happy hour from 2 to 4 AM and PM, he informed us NOT to do the AM one anymore. Ummmm excuse me???? He must want SnS to get sued for false advertisement...... SnS please do something about this. Not for me but for the next people going there to get a job. **Arlington, Texas

Morton Illinois - Club sandwich is now approximately 65% smaller than previous, $.29 additional to add grenadine to simulate cherry drink on top of an already overpriced post mix beverage comprised of mostly ice !! Very apparent corporate taking lessons from polititians. WON'T BE BACK !

My family and I went to the Steak and Shake in Pickerington Ohio. It was an awful experience. The room had many dirty tables which stayed that way for a long time, granted they had just had many people leave, but there where other customers waiting to be seated. The food was fair, burgers bigger on one side and paper thin on the other. My husband did not get his chili and when we asked the manager he said "you still want it?".....and two servers were notified and after approximately 30 min he received his chili. One of the biggest problems was the 25 minute wait for a shake...all the waitress kept saying is "we are really, really backed up"....She was visibly over whelmed and kept asking the manager for help.....I counted at least 6 servers and two men in dress shirts and the cooks. My grandkids and family used to enjoy going to Steak and Shake, now it is just time consuming and disappointing.

IF YOUR COMPANY NEEDS RELIBIAL WORKERS ,WHERE ARE YOUR TRAINERS. I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO CONFUSED. IN THIS DAY AND TIME JOBS ARE HARD TO FIND.IM HOMELESS YOU COULD ONLY GUESS HOW HAPPY I WAS TO GET A JOB AND HOW LIGHTLY YOUR COMPANY TAKE THIER EMPLOYEES.WELL BACK TO BEEING HOMELESS THANKS!

My fiancé went to get me a simple grilled cheese and soup as I am sick in bed. He returns with a grilled cheeseBURGER oozing grease and ROTTEN soup. I mean that it was sour and the meat was spoiled. When he called to tell the manager he responded "okay, thanks." and hung up. Really?? Feeling much better thanks. (Little Road, Trinity, FL location)

IT MIGHT SEEM OK WITH YOU, YET IN MY HEALTH WAS TO CALL IN ANOTHER NURSE WITCH COST ME AND MY HUSBAND $120.00 PLUS $120.00 FOR NURSES PAY SICK ON BEHALF OF SPOILED MEAT. I bought my lunch (single steakburger WELL DONE with American) combon at 1:00 today (5/23/12) at the Main Street location in Hamilton, OH 45013. I have complained many times in the past (to no avail obviously) as I, and many of friends, continue to get undercooked meat. Once again today, after two bites, it was red in the middle. What's wrong with these people? 30 seconds more on the grill would fix that. They were not busy (that's not an excuse), but several people I know have stopped going there over the past 2-3 years because of "raw" meat inside their burger. Don't your employees know this can cause E-Coli? People can die like the 5 year old boy at Jack-In-The-Box in California did from undercooked burger. I give up after complaining for 5 years. That is my last trip -hopefully, I survive this one as I had already bitten into it. Maybe your company will learn if someone sues you for a bezillion bucks. I won't be going back, but trust me, your luck is close to running out serving this raw stuff!~

I've eaten a the Woodstock, Ga. location many times with great satisfaction. The manager there, John Cardwell seems to do a great job. He's always visable to the customers, and supports the staff with their duties. I often hear encouraging words from him directed to customers and staff alike. The food is always good. If ever there is a problem, it gets resolved quickly. I live in Canton, Ga, just north of Woodstock. There were rumors at one time that a restaurant was going in at a new retail outlet just off 575. Sure hope so, the community would really like it. The Woodstock restaurant is always busy, so maybe there'd be enough to go around. Thank you.

Sullivan Mo Steak n Shake is awful. I would go in all the time, and sat in my regular seating arrangement and I could hear the servers shit talking customers, their fellow employees, and more. They talked about how the other employees stole all the time, how the 40 something year old manager had this gross obsession with some 16 or 17 year old new girl, her name was Dorian. And because of the obession, she got raise, after raise, after raise. As well as a promotion! They deffinitely do hire people as randomly as they can and do not care who it is or if they do even a half way decent job at what they do. I had been a fan of the business for quite some time and now, I can't even step foot in the building! I'm not telling you not to dine there, but it really is a terrible place to go if you want sanitary food and and decent mannered employees. I once pulled out a few hairs from my burger (Which they made wrong) and so I pushed it aside and deicided to just eat my cheese fries, but the cheese was clumpy and cold. So I left. I was respectful enough to pay, but they did get a piece of my mind for the outrage I payed for. The only good part of the meal was the shake I had order for my young neice and based on how the food was, I was almost afraid to let her have it from fear of what may be in it that shouldnt be! That was the last chance I gave Steak n Shake in Sullivan, because it has happened so many times before.

Steak & Shake is cutting the amount of food by up to half and still charging the same amount of money for the item? A Corporate decision came down the pipe to reduce the amount of food in the "Chili 5 Ways". This happened about the 3rd of May 2012 or a week earlier on Thursday. I really like the Chili 5 Ways, however, I will not order it anymore, and I am considering not going to Steak & Shake again! Chili itself has been put in a large diameter bowl (looks huge), but there is a big taper to the bowl, and then the depth of Chili in the bowl is shallow. You actually are not getting much Chili for the amount they are charging! Then the Corporate Thinkers decided to do away with toothpicks as this would reduce spending!!! Is this the place you want to spend your money (you can get more bang for your buck elsewhere)?

Visited S&S #617 at 5:30 pm. Waited to be seated even thought they were only 1/2 full and fully staffed. With 7 wait staff at the beverage area we waited 15 mins for our wait person who lacked personality and table experience. She never welcomed us to S&S and took our order and promptly left our table?? Since we know the menu we ordered both entree and drink and then waited for another 15 mins to receive drinks. Our meal took 20 mins and you could tell it was waiting under the heat lamp for sometime based on the fact that it was dry. The french fries were the smallest order we ever had and our waitress only visited our table (1) time and offered water to my wife, no refill for me?? We heard another patron state that she ordered a milk shake 20 mins ago?? There were 7-8 wait staff and a manager but this S&S is going to fail with service like this. There have been good times and good food in the past but its gone now and so are we as we search for another good fast food and believe me they do exist. When asked by the cashier if everything was good I told her our complaints quietly and her response without looking at me was (I'm sorry). Sorry??? She clearly (more mature employee) possibly an assistant manager could care less. This location, right near a Wal-Mart might stay open but its off our regular list.

Willoughby, Ohio This manager talks down on all of his workers, makes advances at the younger girl workers and makes very inappropriate comments as well. Deals with things all the wrong way, instead of taking one employee out of two employees argueing he leaves both of them on the line and tells one to shut up. As well as he can't make a schedule to save his life nor does he know how to order food for the whole restraunt. People with this little interast to make this company strive should not work for them, let alone be a manager!

we have always enjoyed to eat here till last night we were seated waited 10 or 15 min before anyone said a word to us watch other people get seated and there order taken fanily our order was taken 20 min later we got our food my order was done wrong but i took it because i didn't want to wait anymore we had our 4 year grandchild with us and she was hungy and wanted her food so don't think will go back this was in chillcothe ohio

store number 3703702 in faragot tn. i have been a steak n shake customer for 50 years,in two trips to this store,i order a singlesteak with the mustard relish, well guess what .they dont have the mustard relish, and the manager says they have ordered it but it never showes up on the truck.. what the problem steak n shake,, may be they should do a undercover bosss show, and find out whats wrong with ther distrbuation system. I had worked for steak and shake only a couple months. When I first got hired I told them I could only work 3 days a week due to my sitter schedule yet they schedule me 5 days and it the days I could not work. But I dealt with it. They would throw big fits because I.couldn't come in because my daughter is sick. And I quit today because they wanted me to come in with a cough and no voice all because they are under staffed. This is the worst company to ever work.for

I frequently visit the Steak n Shake in Troy, Ohio in front of the Walmart. The servers are typically attentive and the food in the mid range of good. Note that I said typically. However, for the past few weeks I have encountered a manager by the name of Melissa. She is pleasant and seems to really care about what's going on. Come to find out she is training to be a manager. Good job Steak n Shake. I think you have hit a home run with this lady.

I waited over half an hour to get my drink order even taken. We asked four waitresses for help and they told us they'd go get someone. We had to go up to the manager and have him take our order. We're in mt Zion Illinois. Never go there! It's terrible service!

I have noticed in several of your restaurants that there is virtually no difference between the amount of chili in a cup and in a bowl. The bowl design is an excellent example of attempting to visually fool the customer. At first glance, the bowl appears to be quite large. The edge or rim of the bowl is approximately 2 inches wide, which is all for show. The actual bowl is very shallow. My friends and I have actually performed experiments to confirm my comments. One ordered the bowl of chili and I ordered the cup. The bowl of chili was eaten and the contents of the cup of chili was then dropped into it. Essentially no difference in amount. I am sure this comes as no surprise to headquarters. This is a deliberate move to rip-off the consumer

The Steak N Shake in Warner Robins, Georgia, is horrible. Their food is always extremely greasy and it honestly doesn't taste good. Also, this new girl that has worked there for a week, was told to work on the salad case when we weren't busy, and the owner who was there that day, later looked at her and said what kind of God d*** moron takes the salad case down in the middle of a rush? When the girl started working on it, it wasn't busy what so ever. I know he is the owner of that building, but I find it highly disrespectful to cuss in public especially saying G.d. Also, it's very rude to cuss at your employees. If I were her, I would of taken off my bowtie and apron and threw it in his face and said I quit. I will never eat there for one, because yes, their food is awful and two, I don't want a complete butthole making money off of me on nasty, overcharged food.
