The Pacific Grove store advertised wild caught shrimp meat for $3.99/lb. for June 14-16. I went on June 16 and they had substituted non-wild caught without notating it on the sign. I asked if it was wild caught and was told they had run out of the wild caught.

Poor store manager

I believe this woman hates us mexicans. I have never seen a manager talk down to their employees like this woman does. This was once a happy place to shop, but no longer. I will never return to this store untill this white trash is gone. I cant even rate this store!

you guy are over working your staff and under paying most of them i hate going in your stores where there is always a long line to get check out this is why i no longer will shop at your pacific and alpine store and plus you really need to remodel that store in the inside not just the roof

Great Employee

Just need you to know that I have been shopping at Lucky on sloat for over 30 yrs. I love this store ! I want to give your employye Majorie a compliment. There has never been a time that I went into Lucky's and did not feel so welcomed. She has always greeted me and from what I Have seen the other customers with so much care. Marjorie has always showed concern if we need assistance in any way. I look foreward to seeing her when I get there and make sure that I am in her line just to be able to chat as she does the check out. Also Joanna and Hamilton. I love shopping at lucky's with these employee's there. You have

Stanford Ranch store

I would like to let you know how impressed I am with your company for hiring such a personable, polite bagger, Steven is such an asset to this location. Sweeping floors with a smile on his face asking customers if they needed help if they found everything. Polite great interactions while bagging and walking out to my car to my car. I have been shopping at this location for 4 years and he is the very very best bagger you have hired here. Thank you!

I have been shopping at Save Mart since 1997, but no longer. The store in Placerville has gone thru management changes and employee changes, and not for the better. There was a really "nice" and "helpful" clerk who was working there, but quit, as she was being bullied by management. I know this as I was leaving the store after the incident. She was told that she smiled too much and another clerk went thru her personal backpack accusing her of theft. No proof was found. If this is how they treat their employees, I no longer wish to shop at that store. I will be shopping at Safeway (across the street) from now on.

My husband works at the Kietzke Store in Reno, NV. The management there is horrible, they make him do all the work in the deli and if something goes wrong the store manager blames it on anyone but him self. My husband works in the deli, and the deli manager plays favorites and does absolutely nothing when she is there, she doesnt order right and when something happens she blames someone else too. Her and the store manager are friends so he never gets on to her for anything. I think there needs to be new managers put in or else the Stores will lose business and eventually go under.

While most complain about the cashiers and low-level management, their attitudes are the reflection of the mistreatment they get from upper management. I used to work in the bay area and I had to deal with corruption at the assistant grocery to store manager level.

pI love to follow Hacker News, and I have an RSS feed for it that you're welmoce to use. I love it because it's a mix of eclectic, esoteric and important links. Where TechMeme is centered on the wars between the tech giants, and the personalities of the mega-rich, Hacker News wanders into the nooks and crannies of tech, and sometimes wanders far off-topic into areas of human interest. As a human being who loves tech, Hacker News hits a very sweet spot. And then there's the occasional glimpse into the human side of communities that make the products we use. Like this link to an newsgroup thread about whether Mozilla should remove the version number from the About window in Firefox. The thread includes some hard data about the rate of adoption of the new versions of Firefox. Here's the deal as I understand it. Firefox wants you to think of the browser as if it were a web app, where you have no control over what version of the software you're running, and therefore have no need to know /p

Save Mart Oakdale St. in Modesto....I forgot that I had spent some of the money prior to checking out..Yikes so I started to take stuff out of my cart and I told the checker and gave her somethings to put back ...another checker named Jane came over and yelled, Hey, Debbie, there are some more things that have to go back, guess she (meaning me) can't pay for these either...thats when my checker Debbie said I almost need a shopping cart to take all this stuff back. I again told her what had happened. I paid my bill which came to $49.00 + and began to leave but I stopped and turned around and found a manager and said I wanted to return my entire order, he gave me my money back. I then pointed out Jane and Debbie and told him what had happened and how they made me feel I then said that I would never return to that store upon which the manager said that he did not blame me. I went directly accross the street to Grocery Outlet and proceed to shop. When I got to the check out I with held some items and told the checker that I had to wait and see how much my bill came to first and I'd let her know if I could afford them then. It happened that I could not and I said I was sorry. This checker ( older African-Amer. lady) said to me,"Don't you say your sorry, don't worry about it... she then told me I saved $39.00....oh at Save Mart, I spent the same amount almost to the change and saved $13.00.....Now, guess where I intend to shop from now on..

1 star is 1 too many. I have never dropped off groceries and walked out of a store until today. Made sure to connect w management before I left. The deli department today, Thursday at 5pm was staffed with a team that did not know their priorities. I will never, ever shop the Ashlan & West location again. And this has been my store for over 7 years. Deli Department...FIRE THEM ALL! UNBELIEVABLY POOR ATTIQTUDES AND SERVICE!
