This company has to be one of the worst rent to own companies ever ... I am a live in caregiver and take care of a women with dementia ... I missed a payment on an xbox that holy shit is gonna cost me over 1 thousand dollars ... and not to mention that i missed the payment due to a funeral i needed to attend out of town .. anyhow i was getting phone calls and letters at my place of residence while i was out of town ..they were knocking at my door disturbing the client ive been taking care of ... threating her and telling her that they want to take my xbox ... the women was obviously confused and scared due to her health problems... when i returned home .. i seen all the notices and called the RAC i deal with ..they were rude and didnt care about the circumstances ..they wanted the xbox and wanted it that very second... they were refusing to take a payment from me ... there is no way i am giving it back after already paying 725.00 ...towards an xbox ...which only costs 300.00 in regular stores ... anyway i called the corporate office to see what they could do for me and the gentleman Evan whom i spoke to on the phone was very nice and tried to make things easier on me with a payment arrangement ... well apparently there was misunderstanding somewhere on there end and they are back at it again ..trying to take my product ... I think that RAC is very poorly ran and I will never ever refer anybody there ever ... as a matter of fact a few people were taking about going there and convinced them to go elsewhere ....

I recently rented a couch and sofa from Rent A Center on West Kimberly Road in Davenport, IA. After only having the furniture for a couple days, I noticed that their was a bug that somewhat looked like a tick...I didnt think anything of it until I fell asleep on the couch and woke up with bug bites all over my body.Come to find out it was bed bugs....and I found eggs and dead ones in the cushions of both couch and sofa. AND I KNOW THAT THEY DIDNT COME FROM MY DUPLEX CAUSE I NEVER HAD A PROBLEM THE WHOLE TIME I LIVED HERE...IT HAPPENES AS SOON AS I GOT THE FURNITURE!!! Not to mention that the EMPLOYEES didnt even clean out the furniture cause I found hair brushes, garbage and other shit in the couches. I dont know their procedures at rent a center but since when is it okay to rent out merchandise without cleaning it out or checking for bugs....I AM SO PISSED!!!Everyone that slept on the couch now has bed bug bites all over them. I went in to the location that i purchased the furniture and the manager said that their aint bugs in his couches and they have someone inspect the couches every two weeks....WELL SOMEONE AINT DOING THEIR DAMN JOB!!!! He also said he had to take a bed bug class and that bed bugs only live for 24 hours...AGAIN WRONG...BED BUGS LIVE LONGER THAN 24 HOURS AND IT IS HARD AS FUCK TO KILL THEM! All I know is Rent a Center is going to pay for an exterminator....I already got an attorny and got ahold of the health department...So for everyone that got furniture from rent a center on west kimberly....i would check your furniture cause it might have bed bugs.

i am a rentacenter custermer, have been off and on for years, was very satifed, TILL I MOVED TO ANGOLA N.Y. and starded useing the center in lackawana n.y. the worst service i ever gotten, from any rentacenter,,,,,,,when i get a letter saying my pay off is one amount, when i call to pay it off, the mgr, says NO IS ANOTHER PRICE,,,,he wants to see the letter,,,, i had allready thure it away,,,,, on 5,19,12 iget an other tell me my pay off balance, is on price, i then mon the mon 5,21,12 to pay it off, again,,,,, the manger, nohel,,,, says thats not right ,,,, i still owe more,, than what the letter says that i recived on 5,19,12 ??? im trying to work this out through the HOME office, in TEXAS,, IF NOT I GUESS WE WILL HAVE TO WORK IT OUT IN COURT !!!!!!!! but over all,,,,,,, except the office in lackawana ny rentacenter, is a good company and i would recomend them as of this day anyway,,, im still waiting to here from the HOME OFFICE,,,,, IM WILLING TO FIGHT THIS TO THE TOP,,,,,, AND GO PUBLIC AS MUCH AS I CAN,,,,,,,,LARRY DEAN, DISABLED, VIET NAM VET,

I used to work at the rent a center in Redding,CA and i haven't worked there in about 4 months and the manager Lee Griffin tells me that i cant rent there because the other employees will get mad at him. Rent a center is a joke. The redding store will put stuff on your account without even having it. or never wanted it in the first place. just so the can get D's witch are a SALE for the store.

The RAC in Bridgeview Illinois has some good, some bad employees. They have some rules that they have to follow. I haven't rented with them for about 6 months now, but I will tell you. The harrassment that y'all are barking about on here did not happen until I was YEP YOU HEAR ME RIGHT .... 3 days late. They call your workplace EVEN AFTER BEING TOLD THEY CANNOT (violation of Fair Debt Collection Act), home, 90 year old grandparents, etc. If you put it down APPARENTLY the fair debt collection act or not, they CAN and WILL call the references. I had to threaten with an Attorney's letter for them to back off or they would be going to court for harrassment. Well, it did back down, but they would cut it down to just my and hubby's cell phone 1 or 2 times a day. You just have to know your rights and stick to them. Poor or not, you can always find an attorney that would be willing to right a stop letter to this place. They don't scare easily, but as long as you stick to your guns you can have solace and peace. They do threaten criminal action against you, but once again, this is a civil action NOT a criminal action. I am sure anyone that has a contract would love to get their goods back BUT RAC seems to play for pay politics really well. They get the DA in their pocket and can do anything. Watch out, and make sure you do your homework before walking through their doors. BUT Bridgeview for the most part is a cool bunch of cats!

I HAVE BEEN RENTING A COMPUTER FROM RENT A CENTER FOR 3 MONTHS NOW AND IVE NOT BEEN MORE THAN 2 WEEKD LATE AND THAT WAS ONLY 1 TIME! OTHER THAN THAT 1 WEEK NOT EVEN 4 DAYS, I MADE A PAYMENT FRIDAY AND THEN A NEW PAYMENT WAS DUE SATURDY, THEY TRIED TO MAKE ME PAY IT ALL THE LATE & NEW PAYMENTS BEFORE HALF OF IT WAS EVEN DUE. I HAVE THIS COMPUTER FOR MY KIDS TO BE HOME SCHOOLED, I AM ONLY 3 DAYS LATE TODAY, THEY R RINGING MY PHONE OFF THE HOOK (THT I CANT ANSWER*NO MINUTES*) AND SHOW UP TO MY HOUSE LIKE BULLDOGS, I FEEL HARASSED, DISCRIMINATED, AMONG A FEW THINGS, I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A COMMUNICATING CUSTOMER, I HAVE ALWAYS NOTIFIED THEM OF ANY CHANGES IN ADDRESS AND PHONE, ALSO EMPLOYMENT. I rented from rac in Pascagoula, MS. I went in and picked out what I needed. My salesman said he would call me later to let me know what my payments would be and took my first payment over the phone, by credit card. The next day I received an email that I would get one week free with one week paid for Mother's Day. Well they have refused to honor their advertisement. At first my salesman called me and said they would do it for one item but not on both. Even though that is not what the email stated, I agreed. The very same day the manager called (Tina) and said she would not be able to do it at all. I am so upset that I spent my money for one week with rac when I should have just went elsewhere. I chose to go there because it was a Saturday and my dryer went out. I needed one that day and they delivered. I really should have waited until Monday and just went to the bank and got what I needed. I definately learned my lesson. Will NEVER do that again. Nor will I suggest anyone I know to do it either. VERY POOR BUSINESS TO ADVERTISE AND NOT HOLD UP ON THE ADVERTISMENT!!!!!

sounds to me like you guys don't make your payments on time, and talk shit because you're broke and dont understand a rental agreement. Be adults, pay your shit on time, and everything will workout fine. There is poor customer service in every business you go to depending on who you deal with. You obviously go to rent to own companies because your broke asses can't go and buy it cash elsewhere!!! at least you have the option of getting something nice for you and your family to watch, or to use. Be Thankful for that.

High when reading these post about the idiot way that some one calls there self a manager and acking the way that he does when it comes to a lady thats where i step in. It is now wensday are payment was do sat. and my wife called him. that low no good for nothing to make the one week payment and the late charge and he said he would not take it that it had to be a two week payment.now me readeing the lease he cant make changes to it he has to fufill it so im calling the corporate office in plano. the store is the rentacenter on main street in grandprarie the fat no good for nothing is norm you would think that he would be a normal type of guy but he is not. when i call him to make a payment three days late he takes it and shuts up and has respect.so why does he ack like that to women well it could be several things like has been made fun off by women that they need a real man with real hardware you no what im talkeing about norm you have no worm. ack like that to me or some other guy and see what happens. get a little respect for the ladys and be a man.

I am a customer at rent a center in NJ I was recently contacted by an employee who informed me that my credit card which I used to purchase and pay on my account could be compromised because it is a known practise that credit card numbers and codes are being kept by store mangers with there bosses approval and I should check for any unauthorized uses. Still investigating this but customers beware.

I have been with rent a center for over 15 years and they have had many changes of managers, but the woman they have now is far worse than any I have encountered. I happen to be short on cash this week I ask if I could make 2 day payment "no" could I have it moved forward to Monday and not pay late charges "No" "you have to pay the whole payment corporate ofc rules" I have 3 items there, never did she suggest why don't you pay on one or two of the items and than you would only have to pay the late charges on on item". "No, she never did" she is rude and she does not know her customers and from what I can see she never will, she talks down to the employees and treats them like little kids most of the employees have been in that store for a years. I rent from the joliet office THE TV SAYS HASSAL FREE THAT IS A LIE THEY CALL THEARTING YOU IF YOUR PAYMENT IS ONE DAY LATE IT CRAZY.THERE SO NICE TO TRY TO GET YOU TO PURCHASE BUT WHEN YOU DO THEY ARE SO MEAN TO YOU PEOPLE HAVE HARD TIMES BUT IT NEVER BEEN NO IM NOT GOING TO PAY WEEKS LATER IT ONE OR TWO DAYS AND THEY WANT YOU TO PAY MORE WEEK WHEN I WAS TOLD THEY WILL GIVE U A 3 DAY PERIOD TO PAY I AM TIRED OF BEING MISSTREATED I'D REITHER BUY INSTEAD OF DEAL WITH THEM.

To whom it may concern, i decided to go with rent a center for a bed and dresser set, very nice set by the way, but the management at your fort myers, fl. location are very threatening, I've been late a few times but always paid my late fee and always paid two weeks in advance, recently my wife has lost her job, and i get paid every two weeks and i tried to explain to the manager that i can't make payments every two weeks, but insist that i pay every week, i can't cause i get paid every two weeks, i just wanted to let u know what kind of management u got running your stores. I just am asking for a little help, i love my furniture but am sick and tired of them telling me that they are going to pick it up, thats very threatening, that's where my family sleeps and they have no right to treat us this way, i will go to buddy's or arrons, i have never been more than a couple days late and if they would just switch me to bi-weekly we wouldn't b having this conversation rite now. Please I implore u to change the way they do business it's not like i'm a week late or something and i always pay u when i say but this last time this guy said it ain't going to work and have to pay three weeks in advance, I can't do that i am on a budget,m please talk to this manager and just have him add a late fee and i will pay it for god's sake this is rdiculous they have nothing better to do but threaten to pick up my furniture for being a day or two late, come on that is no way to do business at all.

The service is unprofessional bare minimum & the products sucks. You basically get what you pay for but USED. If you're purchasing furniture DO NOT waste your time; the products are as nasty as the person before you & not cleaned (which can be a health hazard w/the bed bug epidemic). As a person who doesn't rent I was shock to see the condition of the products. You can go to Sears, Kmart or a mom & pop store and get more for you money with brand new products which can be put on lay-a-way with no hassle for a fraction of their price. I would not recommend this store or any rent a center to any one. I can say this is the most expensive lesson learned. Not to mention they call you everyday to trying to get you to rent products or refer someone. I sent back the bunk beds I rented for all of a week although I paid for 2wks b/c when they delivered I sent the mattresses back the same day . I asked if I could get the $45 transferred to the computer I am currently buying but they said the top of the contract says no refunds. However, I never asked for a refund and the contract does not say anything about credit or transfer of money.
