The Weirton West Virginia store is a total joke. They have no decency about theirselves.They are constantly harassing customers via phone for payment, when you have repeatly told them when you will be in to make a payment. From the manager to the employees of this store there is no communication with one another. This stores employees do not even listen to what the district manager says to them. They have no time to listen to you as a customer and the products in this store are not even brand new as they claim. You should look into this store with all the complaints, that most people are afraid to register. Harassing customers by phone or their contacts is an uncalled for practice. And you want a rating for this store well all I can say to that it would be on the minus side not the positive side. This store should either fire all the employees and start with new employees and a new district manager, because the employees at this store do not hear anything that Mr. Derrick Clark, tells them. As to the products they are not even worth the payments you make for them.

On July 27, 2012 I went into the Rent A Center in Concord NC and found a couch and loveseat like my husband and I had been wanting. I filled out their forms. I signed a contract, paid the first month's rent and made a delivery appointment for the next day (07-28-12) between 12-2. At no time did anyone tell me nor can I find it in the contract papers that all of the "references" (4 total) had to be verified before the deal was done. If I had know that I would not have paid any money nor signed any contracts. Turns out no calls were even made until 1:00pm on the day my merchandise was supposed to be delivered. I received a call about 1:30 from RAC saying they couldn't verify the rest of my references. Only one of the 4 references I used even mentioned they received a call from RAC about me. I had a contract with RAC there was and offer, an acceptance and money was exchanged. RAC decided for whatever reason they did not want to do business with me. Store Manager Will was more than happy to give me my money back. I really not sure why. But I believe I'm going to check in to suing RAC for false advertising and deceptive busines practices. Companies like this one should not be allowed to stay in business. The fact that the customer is charged way too much is almost beside the point.

The location in Junction City, Kansas does not even deserve 1 star. They are rude, unprofessional and just plain horrible. Lets start from the beginning with my experience. When I purchased our washer and dryer, I told them the day it needed to be delivered and a time. I told them not until after 2pm because I will not have keys for our new house yet. They showed up at 1:30, left a note. I call the location and a very rude person named MISTY answered. I asked her why they delivered before they were suppose to and when they could bring it back out. She stated that they more than likely would have to reschedule for another day. This was after I had made 2 payments on a washer and dryer that I have not had or ever had in my possession yet. They also called me today to tell me I had a payment due. But the website tells me I don't have a payment due until the 15th of August. I do not trust these people. I am very tempted to just give them the washer and dryer back and go somewhere else. I was on the phone with a guy there asking why they are telling me I have a payment due today and the website tells me something else, and he was in my account and he said "What the hell" Really????? Is this how you speak to customers????????? To save a headache, go somewhere else. This location needs customer service training but with as rude as they are, I think they just need an entire new crew in there. From reading the other reviews, its rent-a-center all around that acts like this.

I hate to give them one star because they are full of it. Me and my mom are buying a desktop computer and a laptop from them mom had her computer since 2010 but has been back and forth in the hospital so since I cant do her account they get stupid about the payments and then I go and make payments for her computer and my laptop, then you have to renew papers and the price go up. Also you are allowed to turn your product in for 30 days without being in default, well here in Southfield,MI then everybody that you work with give you different prices and to give you a big laugh they have 2 weeks payment for my moms computer and 1 week for mines, so guess what they say I'm in default how if I'm paying up to payday. Well people talk to headquarters or we all should go to the news and complain on how they are treating us bad and also how they are taking our money, I really feel like somebody is pocketing the money.

I rent from rentacenter in richmond's southside plaza location, the employees are very unprofessional and don't have any respect for the customers. They treat you like crap. I called and spoke to the manager to let them know I was out of town and will make a payment in a couple days when I return, the manager said it was ok. Not even 5 minutes after speaking with them they sent an employee to my home and said to make a payment or take the merchandise.Mind you I sometimes pay more than I'm suppose to. I am so tired of their unprofessionalism and their dishonesty that even though i have paid a lot of money for the merchandise that ain't worth nothing I refuse to deal with them anymore and will return the junk. It is against the law to harass people. I will take my business to aaron's and never deal with the again. They are liars and thieves. they sale you junk that is used and expect you to pay triple the price. They don't deserve not even 1 star for poor because they are worse than poor. Managers are a joke and need to get a life, cause when you do wrong, wrong follow you. NEVER AGAIN IN LIFE WILL I DEAL WIOTH THEM AND I WILL PASS THE WORD! .

First of all,pay your bills and they don't bother you .they don't call refs or go to your work unless you are a hard account meaning you suck at paying your bills. They are rent to own not lease to own like aarons so you need to pay ahead not after you've used the item for a week for free. Wow I wish I could rent cars like that, pay whenever the hell I want and complain about it. Plus if you don't like them get your money back in the beginning and leave. Other rent to own won't due that. I've been renting for 7 years and never get a call and they are great. Got all new with warranty and 90 says same as cash. Just saying.

the store has nothing but rude people working there and they do not stand by any warrenty bought a couch for 800.00 and was to only pay600.00 then they wont replace or exchange there products. they suck

I merely bought a 50 inch tv and have never missed a single payment and been constantly harassed with up to 6 phone calls a day sometimes 3 in a row trying to get me or my family and references to rent more of there ridiculously priced merchandise.When i asked them to stop with the phone calls i have been lied to repeatedly by the store managaer and im now down to 1 last payment and they called my cell phone 8 times today. im seeking legal action for harassment. i would never recomend this company even to my worst enemy,they have no clue what customer service is or basic business ethics. this company should be shut down by the very customers they harrass and over charge.

Your office in cookeville tennessee needs to quit harrassing me by calling my house 2 to 4 times a day showing up at my house TWICE a day and calling my husbands work 3 times in one week!!!!!!!!. It is our business NOT everyone elses. They knock so hard they scare my children. They are harrassing everyone we know and if it doesnt stop legal action will be taken. We know what we owe...but being ONE week behind this is crazy!!!!!!

DO NOT USE RENT A CENTER UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE RIPPED OFF. MANAGERS HAVE POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS.

I previously typed a long negative review which somehow did not get posted. Instead of typing another detailed review, let me just say that I went into the store wanting to purchase a refrigerator. I was talked into using the 90 same as cash option. Refrigerator was supposed to be almost brand new (used only for 13 days). Refrigerator was dirty and had mold on the freezer part. Store manager was rude but than apologize and promised a new or close to new refrigertor would be delivered two days later at same agreed upon price of $509 plus tax if purchased within 90 days. Refrigerator never came. I called back to the store wanting a refund and was told I could get an in-store credit only. Sales Manager Peggy stated to give her a chance to find me another refrigerator. Long story short she found what she said was a new, out of the box, Whirlpool refrigerator. I was offered the refrigerator for $700 plus tax for the 90 days same as cash. I informed her that I had a coupon for $50 off and if I could use that for the new contract bringing the refrigerator to $650 plus tax. Peggy said yes and that a brand new refrigerator wold be delivered that Monday at noon. Mind you I stay less than two blocks from the Rent A Center store. The "new" refrigerator did not arrive until 3:45 p.m. and had several large dents on one side of the refrigerator. Long story short, Chris the manager was extremely rude and "ordered" me to sign the refrigerator. I told him no and that we could take this matter to court. Afterwards, I called back and told him to give me my cash money and he could take the refrigerator. Instead he called the police!!!! The police stated that this was a civil matter. I told the officer that if Rent A Center give me back my money in cash that they could pick up this refrigerator. As the officer went out to inform the driver, Chris the manager showed up with my money and receipt. I told him to keep the receipt as I would never deal with Rent A Center again. I will be writing a letter to their corporate office in hopes that they will reprimand Chris by giving him training or removing him from the store. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect!!!!

My exsperince has been all bad they never give a any kind of break these days as hard as it it to live,they were very rude when they came to pick up what i was renting . they came in my back door and wood that goes up agaist my door they kick it and messed up back door way ,and step all over my clean i had sitting on the floor,also scraped my wall left back door opened they were rude dont rent from them any around norton barberton area anyways,rent from arons they treat you with respect not like i was treated very poorly and i will post more about them,my friends are calling today and there givein back there things those guys need to be fired ,im calling better business burea on them there not going to treat me like dirt and walk away,people dont rent from them, it will end up all bad thats the way its always been .rent some were else not there please listen they will get you to one way or other things are way over priced to,,there nice as long as your renting from them and they are taking that money dont be one penny short or they tax you to death stop and think dont go to rent a center you will be sorry.........................sorry joe

I am very disappointed in in the rent center in Redford Michigan .The manager is rude and very agrumenative with customers .The ladies at the front desk is complete clueless on customers names and there accountants.I have been a a loyal customer for several years sense leaving aaron rental I truly don't appreaction in begein called a liar a few times by the manager .If this what rent a center calls professional counster then I want have a problem take my money to anther store garden white store.I have told my friends to see another rent-center store just don't go to the rent a center store in Redford michigan.

Got a living room set from Rent A Center 2 christmas' ago. Last August I had to buy a car, so I cancelled cable and called RAC to pickup furniture. When they got there they said that since I owed so little on it, they would waive Aug. bill, and I could resume paying the next month! Well in late December I called to find out how much I still owed so I could pay it off, THEY WOULD'T TELL ME!!! Since January I have requested on MULTIPlE occasions to just tell me how much I owed them so I could pay it off. They continue to refuse to tell me!!! And for MONTHS now they have called my boss, my sister in another state and my parents in another state! And also keep coming by my apartment! All I want to know is HOW MUCH DO I OWE!!!! I finally receive something in the mail from them, July 18, I'm think...It's about time... BUt NOOOO all it is, is a letter stating that if I don't respond to them in three days lol that they are taking legal action!! All they want to do is rip people off, it is a total and outrageous jokehow they are not interested in customer relations! They only interested in trying to reprocess items that are not completely paid off. Or so they say! How are customers of this company supposed to pay off their items! Just guess how much they owe!

Good luck to all the dissatisfied customers of that joke called Rent-a-Center! I hope that all of you who take them to court, win your lawsuits! But they don't care! They should care about all of the customers and future customers they are losing!

RAC could be a good thing, BUT they are some of the most obnoxious people and badger you . I \was having trouble keeping my payments do to my husbands layoff and since his name was not on my account...we were just struggling to pay. they called 4 or more times a day. It got so stressful that I didn't want to call them until i had a payment. on occasion they stopped at my residence i wasnt' home but my children were and said they banged on the door for 10 minutes. One night they stopped AT 9:30pm that is when i simply returned the item!! It was not worth the aggrivation. GO TO AARONS!!!! THEY ARE CHEAPER ANYWAY!

They are so nice when you come... just if you aree late they call you from 6 to 12 times per day if you work theyt will call your job constantly til you get in trouble by your bosses. If you are late making a payment they will call you more than that... And they start calling you on the day befre to tell you to make your paymrnt the next day... Michael is the manager Mel is the assistant and they suck.... I sure made a bad decesion to rent an item from them I sure regret it...dkw

Rent a center is such a joke now a days. I had a arrangement with the manager to make my payments every 2 weeks and after i made first payment they are telling me that i have to pay my 2 week payment and 2 weeks in advance since i get paid every bi-weekly. Which i never agreed on and since i won't pay in advance they are coming to get their stuff. Never heard of being punished for getting paid bi-weekly. And i have been doing buisness with them for over 5 years and i will NEVER buy from them again or recommend anyone else to go there.
