ME AND MY WIFE FREQUENT THE PONDEROSA IN CINCINATI OHIO TRI-COUNTY LOCATION. BUT NEVER AGAIN FOR TO MANY REASONS TO NAME. LET ME GIVE SOME EXAMPLES. SINCE A NEW MANAGER TOOK OVER. SEEING HOW I NEVER SEEN HIM BEFORE. THINGS HAVE WENT DOWN HILL FIRST OF ALL WE SAT THERE EATING IN A HEAT WAVE IN JULY WITH NO AIR CONDITIONING AND WE ORDERED T- BONES WHICH WE WANTED RARE WHICH WERE FAR FROM IT.AS I OVERHEARD THE COOK SAY IT CANT BE DONE BECAUSE THE STEAKS COME IN PACKAGES AS IF THEY BOUGHT THEM OF TWO GUYS SELLING THEM OFF A TRUCK. NOW IF IM PAYING THAT MUCH FOR A STEAK CAN I GET IT FRESH AND RED LIKE TEXAS ROADHOUSE. NOT RUBERY WITH 90% GRISTLE,SO I DECIDED TO TALK TO A MANAGER. WHICH WAS RUDE BUT HE DID OFFER TO MAKE ME ANOTHER ONE WHICH I DECLINED, WHY WOULD I WANT SOME MORE OF THAT CRAP. WELL BLOWING IT OFF IN THE HEAT I DECIDED TO TRY THE BAR WHICH WAS A NIGHTMARE. THE MACORONI AND CHEESE TASTED LIKE FISH, THE POTATOES WERE RUNNY AND SO WAS THE THE LETTUCE. THERE IS TO MUCH TO DESCRIBE. BUT THE THING THAT REALLY TOPPED IT OFF WAS THE EMPLOYEYS ACTIONS, THE SERVERS SAT AND TALKED LIKE SAILORS WHILE ROLLING SILVERWARE. THE COOKS ACTED LIKE EVERYTHING WAS SUCH A HASTLE,BUT MOST OF ALL. THE MANAGER ATEMPTED TO GO BEHIND ONE OF THE SERVERS GRABING HER FROM BEHIND THE HIPS AND WAS GRINDING AGAINST HER IN AN UNAPROPRIATE MANER AS SHE GIGGLED. IF THEY HAVE A RELATIONSHIP OUTSIDE THE JOB THATS FINE BUT VERY UNAPROPRIATE ON THE JOB EXPECIALY THE MANAGER. SO THAT WAS IT. I CALLED THE MANAGER OVER AND SAID HOW UNPLEASED WE WAS AND RUDELY WITH A SIGH HE ASKED IF WE WANTED ARE MONEY BACK. WHICH DIDNT FIX THE BAD EXPERIANCE WE WENT THRU. WE WILL NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN GOLDEN CORRAL IS DOWN THE STREET CHEAPER WITH REAL STEAK AND BETTER FOOD AND MANAGMENT INCUDED IN ONE AFFORDABLE PRICE.

Me and my husband have frequently ate at your restaurant in CINCINATI OHIO TRI COUNTY LOCATION. for years with our children till recently. we' noticed change in food quality not to mention 50 other problems. like while we were eating the cook spitting on the floor.and no air conditioning. the steaks came out of a bag and could not be cooked rare because they were already brown a source told us they came from gordons food supply which is good for a banquet or wedding maybe. but if im spending $20 on a steak could it be fresh without 90% grisel . BUT THE MOST APPULING THING IS. SHORLY AFTER THE WE NOTICED THE NEW MANAGER. WE RECEIVED A CARD IN THE MALE SHOWING SEXUAL PREDATORS. AND TO OUR SUPRIES THRE HE WAS THE NEW MANAGER AT PONDEROSA AND AFTER SOME RESEARCH. BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN TAKING MY CHILDREN AND GRAND CHILDREN THERE FOR YEARS, THINKING IT WAS A FAMILY RESTAURANT. I FEEL UNCOMFTERBLE. FINDING OUT HE RAPED A 11 YEAR OLD GIRL. AND THE THOUGHT OF HIM TOUCHING MY GRAND DAUGHTERS BACK AND BEING FREINDLY. WHICH I USED TO THINK NOTHING OF NOW SICKENS ME. I KNOW FELONS NEED WORK TO BUT TO BE RUNNING A FAMILY BUISNESS ISNT IT. I THINK OWNERSHIP NEEDS TO BE MORE PICKY ABOUT WHO THEY HIRE. WHEN IN THIS DAY AND AGE WITH INTERNET AND MEDIA INFORMING US OF EVERYTHING. THAT SOMEONE LIKE THAT IN THAT POSITION COULD BE BAD FOR BUISNESS. Im very upset at the ponderosa in eureka missiouri, the food was picked over and unatended too for quite some time. the desert was old the whip cream was runny and was starting too liquidfy into an oily substace as my wife and two kids were eating we had too battle the flys for our food! I thought too myself that it couldn't get worse my son had too uses the restroom so i took him into the restroom and that was a crime scene it's self,as im writing this im half tempted to call st.Louis county health inspector! whom is running this place? It's going down hill! Please look into this place! Its truly a disrespect to your corporation!

I have dined for several weeks at the Ponderosa Steak House in Watertown, NY. On June 13, 2012, I once again placed my order; but this time, only for a platter meal without the buffet. However, out of habit, once I arrived at my table and confirmed my drink order, I got right up and absent-mindedly began to serve myself the buffet (which I had not ordered or paid for). After putting a mound of lettuce on my plate, I realized my error and reported it immediately to Mark (the cashier). He assured me that it was a very minor thing and to ignore it. But I still felt bad; so I confessed my misdeed to Kim, my server. She assured me of the exact same thing and even informed me that it saved her a trip in presenting me with my salad (included with my platter). Still feeling uneasy from self-imposed guilt, I contacted the manager, Mike. He harmoniously finalized the same sentiments that Mark and Kim had conveyed, stating "we'll pick up this buffet tab: it's on us!" WOW!!!! Never have I encountered such hospitality from an entire team! This is nothing that could have been rehearsed; it's obviously the routine manner in which these people roll every day! To think that all of these wonderful folks would prioritize my dignity and make me feel quite forgiven of my error was just overwhelming. Not only did I complete a customer satisfaction form, but I also notified another manager on site, Chris, of the absolutely splendid service and genuine consideration that I had experience. I assured him that I would definitely be returning to this establishment and that I was humbled, warmed, and grateful for the humanity that was so freely given to a stranger. I'm taking my son with me on my next visit to Ponderosa because of the tremendous value that their prices and portions offer a young, active duty, US Army infantryman of nearly 6 years and 3 Middle East deployments! I am always treated well at the Ponderosa in Watertown, NY and my son enjoys the variety and portions of food. The Ponderosa in Watertown, NY is one way that I show my son, Jared Matthew, how much I love him, how proud I am of him, and so very honored by what he does for this nation as a soldier in the US Army! Thank you very much to Mark, Kim, Mike, and Chris: me and my son will be seeing all of you very soon!

June 13, 2012 On Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at approximately 5:45 PM, I visited the Ponderosa Steak House #880 in Watertown, NY. I placed an order for a dinner platter, but, this time, without the buffet that I usually requested during previous visits. Upon payment, seating, and confirming my drink request with my server, I habitually moved to the buffet and began to serve myself the buffet (the same one that I had denied and not paid for). After a small pile of lettuce dominated my plate, I realized my mistake. I then brought this to the attention of Mark, the cashier. He didn’t permit me to concern myself about it in the least and said not to worry about it. Feeling rather guilty, I then summoned the attention of my server, Kim. Without missing a beat, she said not to worry about it at all. “In fact, you just saved me a trip from serving it to you” (since my platter included a salad). I hesitantly completed a conservative pass through the buffet and returned to my table. Guilt still tugged at my conscience, so I spoke with the manager, Mike. He told me the exact same thing that Mark and Kim said, “Sir, don’t worry about it. We’ll take care of the salad bar tab.” “I was stunned with overwhelming awe!” The three people that I had spoken with could not have possible corroborated their stories. But to know that each person’s perspective harmonized with the others with seamless continuity was astounding! This is no coincidence! The only explanation is that this must be the routine practice in which these people conduct themselves every day! After I had made an absent-minded error, I was treated like a king! The manner in which Mark, Kim, and Mike preserved my dignity and made absolutely no fuss whatsoever about my mistake was nothing short of astounding. To top it all off, they continued to make me feel welcomed! They also volunteered to me the forgiveness that customers can only hope for in service of their needs. MAKE NO MISTAKE; THIS IS INCREDIBLY AND EXCEEDINGLY IMPRESSIVE!!! I completed a customer comment form that oozed of glowing review. But that wasn’t enough; I informed another manager, Chris, of how the staff was so very accommodating; to the extent that no one would have known the difference or have been the wiser. I knew it; they knew it; and that was the end of it! I genuinely commend the Ponderosa Steak House staff in Watertown, NY for serving a delicious meal (Sirloin Steak); presenting a great value; taking ‘above and beyond’ care of me as a valued customer; and going to extensive lengths to esteem my patronage. At the Watertown, NY Ponderosa Steak House, I’m not just a customer. I’m a real person that truly matters to this service team; who strive to earn my business in every way possible … You’ve done so! Trust me; I’ll be seeing all of you again very soon! And next time, I’m bringing with me a very rare treasure within my life; my son, Jared Matthew! He has dined here with me before and never balks at returning. He loves the taste as well as the portions. I seldom see him; only between military deployments (US Army) and I love him as any man would his only son. I know that the Watertown, NY Ponderosa Steak House will take fabulous care of him as they have cared for both of us before. I have ate at your establishments for many years and this morning I had the most horrible breakfast I have ever seen. Whoever is running the hot bar should be removed or retrained in the process of food processing. There was at least a inch of water in the egg pan. ( which tells me that the eggs have been watered down). The bacon was half raw and about 1/2 inch of grease in the pan. The sausage was the same (1/2 inch of grease in the pan). The sweet roll was raw in the middle. I will not patronize this establishment again. It is located on Indiana, Pa. There was only a few patrons there and now I know why. If the trend continues you will lose a franchise. Hope you can correct this problem. bjr

Sorry the lowest rating is 1 star. My rating of truth is minus 100%.I am very surprised to see the inspectors have not closed the doors on a business that you spend $50.00 for a meal that should have been put in the trash at least 6 hours previous. Yes I was offered gift certicate to return. how ever with money tight, and even through remodelling, no thank you. I will go and pull out my camping stove and cook for myself. Thanks but no thanks. When times are hard try liming hours but serve food to people not trash.

After reading all the reviews from far and wide I know now that as an employee (now former) for this corporation that the way these restaurants are run comes from Corporate themselves..Think about it You never get back what you paid! If you eat one morsel you will be charged for a full buffet.FACT Common to have customers throwing up in the bathroom, or at the table. If you complain to a Manager it will change nothing. FACT The food is sub standard (yes the steaks are grey before cooking) and the buffet food is reheated and used from one day to the next after everyone has touched it and breathed on it. Its common practice to work off the clock and or work on a server wage of 2.83hr doing the hourly employees work. No employee is to leave the building after close without a customer in the building. (Held hostage off the clock waiting for 2 hrs for them to close.)Write ups if you leave. Forced to claim no less then 6.00hr in tips no matter what. (To keep the minimum wage for servers up with the rest of the restaurants in the area who are not buffet based) Yes its common practice to be very voice tress and rude when it comes to non tippers, to the point the server will confront you about it. Bullying and harassment are and always has been the for front of gettings things done. The E-CLUB We are pushed to a quota daily with the consequences of write ups, no breaks, cig breaks and loss of hours if we didn't meet our quota's for E CLUB members. I could go on and on...I have never seen a business conduct themselves like this and get away with it. Breaking so many laws..

We went to the Ponderosa in Hartford, WI. Nothing short of EXCELLENT. The staff went beyond what any one would have expected and the food was perfect.

My family (my husband, myself, and two children) went to the ponderosa in jackson, oh last nite and it will be our last trip. It started with the cashier being so rude, didn't want us to use our coupon that we got through the ponderosa b-day club, my husband ordered a steak medium well, and mine well done, his was so raw and bloody, it looked like fresh road kill, mine was pink streaked, we showed the manager (jeff) who told us he would reinburse our dinner which we were charged $15.98 and only given back $6.00, I asked him if a half pound ribeye was really ONLY six bucks and he said yes. What do you all think we should have recieved? I think the $15.98 would have been correct, since we went there with our hearts set on a nice steak dinner and didn't get it. Not to mention the waitress disappeared and never came back until we were leaving and offered refills on the drinks, we refused and left. We could hear the manager and cooks and the cashier discussing us and putting us down like we were some scam artists looking for a free meal, it took all i had to hold my tongue and keep my husband from getting verbal in a not so nice way, (they deserved an ear full), i have a big mouth and will be telling all my friends how much better golden corral and bob evans tastes.

My disabled son wanated to take me out to an early Mothers Day buffet, so I chose yours. We left early enough, but got stuck in construction traffic and did not arrive at the resturant in Kittanning til 8 mins to four and had our order taken at five til. However, she would not give us your lunch buffet, she charged us for your dinner one, which was considerable more than my son could afford seeing there was four in our group. We had to cancel the order, still not being 4:00 mind you, and leave cause he could not afford the extra funds. Now, I am asking you? If you say four, it should be until four, not 3:45. Four is four. You will be losing my business from now on. A businees is it's word, and your word sucks.

my wife and i visited the richland,pa ponderosa on april 30 for the supper buffet and were GREATLY dissapointed our med rare steaks were GRAY ON THE OUTSIDE AND RAW INSIDE my Baked potato was only half cooked and WOODY THE BUFFET OFFERED THREE KINDS OF CHICKEN the kind i ate was good but the pasta and rice dishes that were offered were DRY AND STICKY THEY LOOKED LIKE THEY WERE THERE FROM THE LUNCH BUFFET we were there at 630 pm our waitress didnt take any plates off the table until we were leaving nor did she check to see if our meals were ok or offer to refill our drinks till we were ready to leave we have been there for the lunch buffet before and the food and service were excellant but this will be our last visit

this is about the new ponderosa in elk view WV First off let me say that this is MY experience at the new Ponderosa. I took my wife and step daughter there for my step daughters 16th birthday. When we first entered the establishment we noticed an unusual amount of smokey ness. the staff was friendly and performed the duties diligently. Now on to the food: i was disappointed at the selection they had on the buffet. the food was cold it was undercooked and the serving utensils were inadequate. the chicken i had was bloody, the serving utensil for the chicken wings, was extremely hot, so hot that i burned my hands on them to the point that i had to shake them free from my hands, i had to sit for about 20 minutes with ice on my hands before i could finish eating. my step daughter ordered a steak from the menu and requested it be cooked well done, when she received it some 20 minutes later it was only cooked to a medium. fortunatly i was not a secret diner this time. My experience was awful and i expressed that to numerous customers that asked me how the food was as i was exiting. I saw about 5 take their families and leave. the only thing that i found to be satisfactory was the salad and the pepsi i had to drink. I spoke with the manager[ she was a red head lady] and she apoligized. i am also a business owner and if my workers could perform no better than that then they were not trained properly and that ultimately falls back on the business owner. I will be sharing my experience with all my friends and associates, also with my facebook family and friends. I will also be sharing this letter with the Ponderosa company. I understand all are individually owned but i think they would want to know how their name is being represented. Once again this was MY dining experience.

My husband and I visited the Indiana, Pa. Ponderosa and like many of the previous reviews, we too had an awful experience. On the way to our table, couldn't help notice how many tables were not cleared off and how DIRTY the carpet was. Was ready to leave right then, but since we already paid, thought maybe at least the food would be okay. Boy were we wrong!! The food on the buffet looked crusty, like it had been reheated a million times...it was NOT hot...and it took us all of about 10 minutes to pick up and leave in disgust. The corporate headquarters needs to read these reviews and stop backing these terrible restaurants! That's 10 minutes out of our life we'll never get back!!

I recently dicided to eat at your Lagrange Kentucky steak house after ten years of not eating there because of a bad reputation for which they did deserve , I noticed that the buffet bar was much cleaner than it used to be and seemed to be a great improvement but when they brought out the sirloin tips we ordered that's when I became disappointed , it looked like the tips were cooked in a pool of beef fat and then served that way , the grease burned the roof of my mouth and believe me I have had a lot of steak and never been so turned off . If that is normal for your cooks to prepare your sirloin tips that way then that will be that last time I eat there

My husband,daughter, and two grandchildren went to Ponderosa In Wheelersburg Oh. last night 1/13/2012. We were taking my grandson out for winning the school spelling bee. We sat down to eat and before our food ever came out my husband killed 4 cockroaches. We were very digusted but still we were polite. The only compensation offered was 4 free passes to the buffet. We took them and left because my sister works there and I did not want her to be treated badly by her boss. Even though she was not working at the time. I wish she would have warned me about the poor sanitary conditions. We ended up going to Bob Evans to eat, because we were still hungry. We lost 65.00 dollars last night. We won't be going back to use the free passes unless something changes drastically. Management there needs to learn how to treat their customers and how to get the sanitation problem under control.

You should use the Ponderosa store in Hartford Wiosconsin as a model for all of the rest of your establishments. I have been a Ponderosa customer for over 20 years and have frequented many of your franchises is multiple states but neve have I been so impressed with the consistant quality of food, The attentive wait staff and a manager (Chad I believe) that is right in there up to his elbows in assisting all. I think The Hartford Wisconsin Ponderosa should be a training facility for all Ponderosa managers nation wide. Trust me on this. I was in the Corporate world of customer/technical service for over 30 years and I know what it take to be successful. Please sgare this with the above mention store and especially Chad the manager.
