I went to return some defective merchandise and the store manager had a really cocky personality. I did not want cash back but, to simply exchange for something else they refused and I left. Well the total was only $11.00 Will never shop there again or recommend

Terrible Management

I went to the pier one in Garner NC, I had a young lady helping me, she was doing a fine job. The manager comes up to her and pulls her away from me, tells her to leave me (The Customer) and puts her at the register. I was very upset. The management was clearly rude.

I visited the cranberry PA store 2/14/2013. My watch had stopped and I didnt realize it. I must have entered the store 2 or 3 min. before closing, but my watch was 45 min. off. I kept those poor girls for 30min after closing. I didnt realize till I got back to my car what had happened.Those 2girls that worked that nite were sooooo nice. I couldnt believe how nice they were and helpful. I would think they would have been a bit upset with me. If they were it didnt show. You have some good employees there.

No Operator at Corporate?

I have a friend who words at Pier 1s Corportate Headquarters that I am trying to send flowers to for her birthday. I have called the number provided to try to ask if I need her department, floor, etc to ensure that she receives the flowers. I have been calling for 3 days now, no one answers that phone and I am not able to leave a message.

none of their parking lots has cameras. you're on your own. don't shop there. it's not safe.

I purchased 2 matching pillows. The one had a tag indicating it was 20% off. When the sales clerk rang up the pillows she only gave me 20% off on 1 pillow??? Made no sense to me, so when I questioned her she became aggitated and rude. I if the manager was available, as they were the SAME pillow. Belinda, the store manager was condesending and rude. She could not provide a reasonable explaination as to why they charged me separate prices. Just not happy with the treatment of customers, nor the inteligence of the staff. Is it that hard to get decent help these days ???

can employees make returns with no receipt and get a gift card?

The Pier 1 store in Alpharetta GA took my $266. dollars in cash 2 days ago for purchases I made. Today i had to return an item for appx. $115 and I had my original receipt. Guess what! The store told my husband and myself they only keep $100 in cash in the store and since they had a few refunds earlier in the day, they have NO CASH to give me back!!! I paid THEM IN CASH AND insist on cash. I DON'T WANT A MONKEY, MIRROR OR PLATE. I WANT THE CASH I GAVE YOU. They said I could have a credit, I didn't pay with a credit, I paid in cash. Now they told me I should spend 1 1/2 hours on the road with the high cost of gas, and come back another time, days away. They now said corporate will mail me a check. I WANT THAT CASH I PAID WITH NOW AND DON'T INTEND TO WAIT A WEEK OR ELSE THEY OWE ME INTEREST, AND, TIME LOST PLUS A STORE CREDIT FOR MY AGGRAVATION. I AM RECOVERING FROM CANCER AND NEED THE CASH FOR MEDICAL TREATMENT. taking my money in cash and not giving it back on demand is illegal and people should know they are using your money to gain all the interest from everyone they are pulling this on. I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A GREAT CUSTOMER, HOWEVER, THIS DID IT FOR ME. After the wk is up, I'll meet them in court! By the way, the BBB will hear about this scam. Is it only on the elderly?

i cant get my refund back i have the receipt i want my cash back this is day 2 i cant get my cash back now . i live in santa maria ,cal you people need to own up to your responsibilty. signed upset ,bad people you dont even answer your phones, bad .

First, credit card complants have very little to do with Pier 1, but instead are based on the company offering the service, now it's ADS World Financial, but it was Chase before that. Going back about 4-5 years, P1 had it's own credit card, so those complants would be valid, but I don't see anything going that far back, so it's a moot point. Pier 1 can't keep your interest rate the same, because they have very little control over said interest rate. ADS World Financial does, and they can't keep your interest rate the same and change every one else's. You're no better than the person who opens a card to buy Christmas ornaments then cancels it. The level of self entitlement I see here is outstanding. Sometimes the customer service truly is terrible, but that's a reflection of one store, not of the entire company. The CEO isn't in that store, ignoring you. The 'customer is always right' mentality needs to disappear. To err is human, and customers are human, so, logically, customers err. Just the same as the retail employees you seem to forget are humans. Please stop taking your singular bad experiences out on the companies they're attached to.

I visited the Augusta Ga store on April 28 around 8:30. The employees seem to be very prejudice, we were the only blacks in the store. The came over pretending to ask for assistance it was very obvious that wasn't the intent. I will not spend money any store where I am treat in that matter. Thanks but not thank!!!

THE STORE IN BUFORD AT THE MALL OF GA. IS THE WORSE EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE AT A RETAIL STORE! FIRST THE STOREIS SO NASTY FILTHY, AND SO ARE THE 2 SO CALLED MANAGER WHO RUNS IT. THIS SHORT BLONDE NEEDS A REALITY CHECK IN HOW TO TALK AND TREAT PEOPLE, HER PERSONALITY IS SO VILE I CAN EVEN COMMENT ON. I COULD WRITE A BOOK ON HOW RUDE AND NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AND HOW HER ATTITUDE EFFECTS EVERYONE AROUND, PEOPLE WATCH YOU AND THEY NOTICE, IN CASE SHE DOESNT KNOW! NO ONE WAS INTERESTED IN EVEN TALKING TO ME AND WHEN I FINALLY SEEKED AN EMPLOYEE , THEY ACTED LIKE I WAS BOTHERING THEM AND BELITTELED ME AS THEY WERE SPEAKING TO ME. I WAS IN SHOCK. THEN THE GIRL GAVE ME NO PRODUCT INFORMATION AND WAS NOT WILLING TO GET ME ANYONE WHO MIGHT NO, I WAS TOLD THAT SHE DIDNT KNOW ABOUT THE PRODUCT WHICH WAS A TABLE AND A RUG AND WAS TOLD THAT THESE ITEMS WERE REALLY NOT HER THING, WHATEVER THAT MEANS. FINALLY I SEEKED OUT THE BLOND MANAGER, SHE COMES RACING OUT THE SIDE DOOR OF THE STOCK ROOM WITH THIS STERN ATTITUDE LIKE ITS SUCH AN INCONVIENENCE TO HAVE TO COME OUT TO TALK TO ME, MEANWHILE SHE HOLDING A PACK OF CIGARETTES IN HER HAND AND A LIGHTER. AFTER I CAUGHT MY BREATH FROM THE HARD SMELL OF CIGARETTES SHE GREETED ME WITH WHATS THE PROBLEM WITH A BIG SIGH. NEEDLESS TO SAY IT WASNT EVEN WORTH THE FIGHT TO TRY TO SOLVE MY PROBLEM OR GET SOME QUALITY CUSTOMER SERVICE. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT ANOTHER STORE MIGHT HAVE WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR BUT WHAT I WAS WANTING WAS IN THAT STORE AND I MADE THAT CLEAR TO THE MANAGER. THEN WHAT WAS SO INCREDIBLE IS THAT ONE OF THE SALES GIRL STANDING AT THE COUNTER WHO WITNESSED THIS APOLOGISED FOR HOW RUDE HER OWN MANAGER WAS AND SAYS SHE SEES AND DEALS WITH THIS ALL THE TIME. MY RESPONSE WAS YOU SHOULD GO LOOK FOR ANOTHER JOB, YOU SEEM TO BE ABOVE THIS TYPE OF ABUSE. IF SHE IS THIS WAY TO ME I CAN ONLY IMAGINE WHAT THE POOR EMPLOYEES WHO WORK AT THAT STORE GO THROUGH. BY THE WAY I WAS GOING TO BUY A WHOLE LOT OF STUFF TO FURNISH MY NEW TOWNHOME AND OPEN A CREDIT CARD. I WENT ELSEWHERE, SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GLAD I DIDNT MAKE THE MISTAKE OF DOING ANY BUSS. AT THE PIER1 AT THE MALL OF GA. IN BUFORD. ON A PERSONAL NOTE TO THE MANAGER OF THAT STORE, IELEEN, YOU SHOULD FIND A JOB ELSEWHERE, WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROND. YOU ARE DRIVING THE CUSTOMERS OUT OF THE DOOR, MAYBE THATS WHY THAT STORE LOOKS SO BAD, QUALITY HAS REALLY WENT DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WILL NEVER ENTER THAT STORE AGAIN AND I URGE ANYONE LIVING IN THAT AREA TO DO THE SAME.

i went to your store wednesday 2/22/12 and no one ask to help the short lady with blond hair was walking around and not asking if anyone needs help, i worked as a customer service and i never treated people like this, if it was'nt for my money or others you would not have a business, once upon of time i liked your store, but the girls seem like their prejudice and ignorant you dont get the phone first when a customer is standing their waiting for help and you dont go to another customer who came after you, im not an employee there you dont treat people like that who wants to spend money in your store. Thank you.

Today, 2-18-12, a friend and I were shopping in the Pier 1 store on Oracle in Tucson, Arizona, and asked where the restroom was before browsing/shopping and paying for our selected items. We were told there is no public restroom and that we could go to Ross or McDonald's. I found that utterly unbelievable. I've shopped other Pier 1 stores and they have accessible restrooms for their shoppers. I didnt know such a well-known and large merchant could deny the right to use a restroom. What a shock! My friend and I (both in our 70's) were astounded. I feel as though I've been discriminated against in the worst way. I felt ashamed, humiliated, and just plain old MAD. I have many friends in the area and have written to them about our experience. What a shame. That particular Pier 1 will never, ever get my business again. I don't want to hear from you if all you have is petty excuses. Shame on Pier 1 and their practices.

By the looks of the previous ratings you either love or hate Pier 1. I happen to be on the love side. I agree with one of the comments about finding the glass price was in addition to the table or what ever and web site could certainly use someone with a 10th grade education to check it. I do not buy a lot there as I believe it is a bit pricey, but in the town I live in, Roanoke, VA, there is not many places to choose from. Every time I go into the store I believe I have been greeted & as various employees are in the area with me they seem to always have asked if I am finding what I am looking for; not pushy, not ignoring, but the offer to be helpful. I was in the other day and Jimm greeted and asked if he could help. I did have a question, which led to more questions. He was more than patient with me (& I have individuals that would tell you I would wear them out). Jimm not only answered questions but gave options that I might want to consider for purchases that day and for future purchase. Thanks Jimm for your help and the other sales personnel that have been working the Roanoke store over the years I have been visiting.

On Friday 01/20/12 I went to buy a coffee table on hollywood blvd at Hollywood location, CA. The coffee table had it is own price on the bottom of the table and the table had a glass cover on top which had the same copy of the coffee table tag on top where it was mention only coffee table price.So it looked like it was like a sett it was nowhere mentioned that they were selling the glass seperately.I asked some questions about the coffee table to some of the sales representatives and they were giving me short answers and it was never mentiond that they were selling the glass seperately.Once I started purchasing the table at the register they started asking me to pay for the glass too,I became very frustrated and surprised that nowone ever mention it while I was shopping in the store.Once I went back to the table to make sure about the price the manager followed me grabed the copy of the price which was in the plastic little bag and in between of the visible price took a real tag out which was hidden in between the two sides and said "see, here it is " and I told her that I see that now but I did not see that before so then she told me so if it is like that why do not you pay the same price whatever was on top of the glass before which one was belong only for cofee table . She had not been respectful to me as a custumer and tried to make fun of my furstration about experience I had in their store. I would describe her as a evil, not polite and rude lady who is incompetent in whatever she does.Never got apology from them for inconvinience , she should be cheking the floor more accurately to avoid this kind of situations happening.I left the store without buying the table which I wanted to buy so bad..I now on I will let my friends know that I do not recomend them shopping at this particular store. I hope you take it into consideration.

I'm not sure which is worse, the personnel in your store or your website. My recent experience: I was trying to purchase red and turquoise flame accent pieces (SKU: 2563990 and SKU: 2564155). They were not available at the nearest store to me (Sugar Land), but I found them at the Meyerland Store and put them in my basket to be picked up at the store. I received an email my order was being processed and left to go pick up my pieces. I drive the 15 miles only to be told no they don't have them in stock even though the website said they did, no they couldn't have them shipped from another store...sorry, too bad. Finally one young lady offered to find them at another store for my inconvenience. She found them at the Village store on Rice Blvd. I went to pick them up this morning and they were out of stock of the turquoise!!! Again, inconvenienced and not even an I'm sorry, can we try to find them somewhere else for you. I left all the other items I was going to purchase and departed the store. This is your customer service? It's a very sorry excuse when you advertise on your website and the items are not in stock and your personnel just shrugs their shoulders and no offer to help you find your items elsewhere. RIVER OAKS STORE IN HOUSTON TX . TWICE IN THE LAST MONTH ASKED ABOUT AN ITEM . EMPLOYEE (CHAD) SAID IF YOU DON'T SEE WE DON'T HAVE IT AND WALKED AWAY SWISHING HIS HIPS LIKE A WOMAN.

First let me say that i have shopped at pier 1 for years in NYC, NJ And Florida. That being said today I stopped by pier 1 on Staten Island NY there Richmond Ave.Location i arrived at the front door at 8:50pm exactly and the doors were locked they are suppose to close at 9:00pm. There was and employee right by the door ignoring me i tapped on the door to get her attention she looked at me as i motioned to my watch that it was earlier and the store should still be opened. She gave me a look rolled her eyes and walked away i assumed she was getting a key to open the door so i waited there when my husband said to me shes not coming back. So i left there very annoyed at the way i was treated. Driving home i had there reciept and felt i should call the store and talk to a manager. So i did and an employee picked up. And i ask to speak to a manager. She asked me why and i told her. After that a woman got on the phone already she sounded nasty. I asked her if she was the manager and she said yes. So i proceeded to tell her what happened and she very annoyed had said she locked the doors herself at 8:55. I then said no you didnt i was at the front doors at 8:50. She very nasty said Yes I DID. And i said no you did not. And what time are you suppose to close? She said at 9:00pm But i lock the doors at 8:55. I said Arent you suppose to lock the doors at 9:00pm anyway? And she said no. I said well then why does the sign outside say closing at 9:00pm. At that point i told her i was going to call corporate up and let them know what happened. And she the manager if you can belive this to my complete shock told me that i can call whoever the "F" i want. Thats right she used the curse word F--k and cursed me off. I then started to tell her how i was gonna handle that but she hung the phone up or should i say slammed it on me. I went back to the store to find out who it was but nobody came near the door. I waited for about 15 min. but nobody left so i went home. Im going to make sure this company knows this and acts on it there is no way that this should be let go. This is a disgrace!!

Love the store, hate being hounded to open a charge card, give my e-mail/phone #.
