Twice Grooming mishap

I brought my Crocker spaniel to PET smart in Dearborn Michigan. I discovered once my dog was groom under her short tail was bleeding. I took her to the vet and PET SMART did not care. Pet smart claimed next time I should report the situation before taking her home. I knew they only was trying to cover up the issue, so I requested for a different groomer. On February 11,2013 my dog was groom by a different person and when I came to bring her home her paw was bleeding on the back right side. The groomer stated I did it, I called for a manager and the manager seen all the blood coming from the back leading to where by dig was sitting. Apologies where given but m dog have a hole in her paw and no discount were made either

WILL NEVER SHOP HERE AGAIN

I came to Petsmart on February 10, 2013 between 12:30-1:00pm. I brought my great dane with me to visit the store and to purchase merchandise. My great dane is fearful of new places, so I was getting her calmed down in the parking lot before entering the store. Of course people stopped and wanted to pet her. After approximately 10 minutes outside the store manager came out and caused a scene yelling at me because my van has writing on it and it was parked in the parking lot. So, I was accused of soliciting. She threated to call the police, took pictures of my van and kicked me off the property. Mine you, I spend over $200 per month at Petsmart. Not only did she embarrass me and my family trying to shop on my day off. My vehicle with advertising on it is the only vehicle I own, but she also frightened my dog who urinated while she was obnoxiously yelled at me. And this store manager would not give me her name to report her to corporate. I will NEVER be shopping there again. I will just as easily give my business to Pet Supply Plus!

I would like to file a complaint against store #2299 in Walpole, ma. I was given wrong information on a cat food. Now I am bring my cat to the vets every other day. I have spent $187.00 so far and he is going again tomorrow. The foor that was recommed was wron and he is now unable to go to the bathroom. I wqas thrilled when you came into Walpole since you are closer than petco, but i guess I will drive the distance to go to Petco. I realize you will do nothing with this comment but, I needed to let other customers know to beware of advice given at this store.

I was an employee at #157 for many years. Then my employHment was wrongfully terminated. Being such a dedicated employee, I still cannot believe that this company never bothered to right the wrong.

I would like to make a formal complaint against the Petsmart store in Utica Michigan! I just came from there to get my dogs nails trimmed as simple as that sounds it could not be completed due to complications of an inexperienced staff. While in line the cashier wanted me to walk away from the card machine while paying for dog treats to go into the grooming area to discuss a refund. So i told the cashier no, wait until after this transaction is complete, I am not leaving the register until so under any circumstances. The woman got an attitude and threw my receipt on the floor. I would also like to point out the fact i am handicap and limited to bending over to pick things up. Please provide me with your corporate contact info to further this complaint!

price hike!

Can't believe they would hike up their dog food Authority 3 dollars! should of stayed with my regular brand which is better anyways and now is the same price!!!

aquatic plants

I was very upset at the aquatic plants that I bought at your Henrietta N.Y. store . They must have been loaded with small snail eggs and totally took over my tank so bad that I had to take it down .Stay away from their plants unless you want to raise snails .

Refused to sell "special" cat food

Discovering that I may not have enough cat food to last a Holiday weekend I stopped at the Posner Park store in Davenport Fl. My cat had recently been diagnosed with a urinary track problem (a type of kidney stones) and the vet had said that he would have to eat a particular type of food that prevents the stones from forming. Finding that they didn't have exactly the same type of dry food (Royal Canin) on the shelf but did have the can food. I grabbed enough to get thru the weekend. At the check out the cashier asked if I had a prescription. Puzzled I replied that I did not. She proceeded to tell me that she could not sell me the cat food without a prescription from the vet. So in order to feed my cat I have to have a prescription from the vet every time buy food?! It's special cat food but its not THAT special and it wasn't special enough to put it behind the counter or locked up where other SPECIAL medications might be found. The cashier offered to call the vet which was silly since it was clearly after hours for such a call. ( I had taken my cat to an outside vet when Banfield could not fit him in when he got sick.) I also have a dog that I frequently take into Banfield as well as the grooming salon and buy her "food" there as well, however having been denied a basic necessity for my cat I find that I will no longer do business at Petsmart.

Petsmart training review

My very young and animated young puppy was trained at the Petsmart store on Boynton Beach Bd. (store #336) . She began with Phyllis Smilen, Pet Training Instructor ,at the puppy level. We continued to work with Phyllis through all of the classes up to and including advanced level. I was very happy with the kind and consistent approach that was taken. "Poppy" is (mostly) a well behaved little pup at age one year. When she forgets what she is supposed to do, I have learned enough from Phyllis that I am able to use the positive reinforcement techniques to get her back on track. "Poppy" has now earned her Good Canine Citizen Award and is one her way to being a delightful, happy and polite dog.

Heartless

Last week I went to Petsmart on Shaw in Fresno to get my usual $80 (everyweek sometimes more) worth of canned food for the kitties. One of the managers told me that there was an injured cat at the back of the store by the recyling center. She had been there for awhile. The manager said she was probably died by now! The driveway is oneway on that side of the building, so of course I had to drive by the recyling center. There was the cat, slapping at her poor face in pain. I stopped and got out and grabbed her and took to a wonder vet on Ashlan. He said she had been hit very hard in the head, her little face was all swollen. She was in very poor health, most likely homeless. He told me that it would be best to put her to sleep. This was done without charge to me!!!! What my question is, what is wrong with the heartless jerks that work at Petsmart and Banfield (should be banned). They could just leave the poor kitty in the dirt in pain and hope someone, like me, would take pitty and help her. From what I have read today that has been posted about Petsmart, maybe I will find another store to spend my money on my MANY animals.

Excellent Manager/Excellent Assistance

I just wanted to briefly comment on the excellent customer service I received at Petsmart #1331, which is located in Monroeville, Pennsylvania. Manager Drew kindly assisted me with a coupon/out-of-stock situation. The value and importance he places on great customer service is wonderful and rare.

I was subjected to threats

Your employees are condescending and threatening. I spend over $5,000 a year in PetSmart and when I placed a order on the 8th of Dec. and was told this morning on the 12th that the order hadn't even been processed I was upset. I asked to have the order cancelled so I could go to the store and pick the items up. I explained that I was leaving this weekend for Christmas holidays and since PetSmart had dropped the ball and not processed the order in their time frame, according to the first person I talked to, then I didn't trust that this order would be here in time. The supervisor I nexted talked to refuse to cancel the order and it was she that stated if I cancelled the payment then I would be blocked online from purchasing from other Internet stores. After terminating the call I got a call back from this supervisor that she would "try" to stop the order but she couldn't guarantee anything. I've never been treated in this manner and will work to find another store to purchase the items I've purchased from your company and will also find other groomers for my animals. I refuse to be treated this way and I do have options.

Bad infected fish killed my healthy fish!

This past sat Dec 1st I purchased 8 fish to add to my existing fish in my 75 gallon home tank. I added these new fish sat afternoon on sun morning upon waking I checked the tank and noticed 3 of the new fish dead & floating! I was shocked this happened I had not even had them 24 hrs yet. The next day Monday I checked the tank another 2 fish dead! Being worried and now concerned I contacted the man who professionally cleans my tank 1 a month for the last 6yrs. He came over looked at the tank tested the water it came back with levels normal. He suspects the fish bought carried a bacteria that spread in the tank since he could see 3 of my older fish had sores on their backs and near their gills. He instructed me to put in a treatment daily for 7 days to treat fungi growing on fish. Well over these next 2 days I have lost 6 of my fish that have been in my tank for the last 5-6 years! I have been in contact with the Petsmart store in MA that I purchased the sick fish from the have only offered to replace the fish I bought on sat and have no care or concern for the 6 older fish that have died from this! I talked to the store manager and also talked with someone at the corporate office as well. I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED in the customer service I have received from this company. To have spent thousands of dollars over these past 6 years on my fish (my pets) to now seeing dead fish each day due to poor quality fish sold to me and NOTHING done to reimburse me or replace my fish is just unacceptable! I will NEVER purchase another item in these stores for any of my pets. Now I will continue to keep treating the fish I have left and hope that they all do not die!!!

store return

I visited to your store at 4425 14th St W in Bradenton, FL 34207 on Black Fri. 11/23 with 2 of my 4 dogs for Pawdicures at the salon and the 50% off Black Friday Sale to but dog treats, holiday dog toys, rawhide, ear cleaner and drinking water tabs. When I got there I asked a cashier if I would be able to return 2 Pedi-Paw pet nail trimmers and replacement heads, in their unopened orig. packing because my dogs are affraid of the 3rd Pedi-Paw nail trimmer I had opened and tried. I'm keeping that one. I was offered store credit only which was fine with me. After an hour in the salon I filled a shopping cart with about $60 worth of sale items listed above. Tsore manager Sara, who already told me she'd give me store credit, hunted me down in the aisles to inform me she had changed her mind about giving me store credit. I put the sale items back, and looked for the items I tried to return unsuccessfully. When I asked for her business card she handed me Randy Hahn's card. She said she would connect corporate about my returns, and call me. Today is 11/28, no one has called me or returned a few messages I left for Randy and Sara. I can shop at Pet Supermarket 5 minutes, an mile from my house. Your 14th St. store is always dirty, disorganized with cartons blocking the aisles and associates look and dress like homeless people.

Grooming nightmare

I took my dog into the Las Vegas, Charleston location to be groomed yesterday. She is golden retriever, chow, shepard mix with very thick long hair. She was very matted in places. The groomer said she would have to shave her down to the skin over her whole body and I said absolutely not. I told her I understood that she would have to be shaved in places, but not to shave her whole body. She told me she would look funny and asked if she could at least blend the hair so she wouldn't look so bad. I told her yes as long as she did it with scissors not the clippers. There were no mats on her back or sides and I very specifically told her not to do anything to those parts but trim with scissors, I even ran my fingers through her hair to show her that there were no mats. When I returned to pick her up, she had shaved her entire body. The groomer met me at the door with her manager, so that should tell you right there that she knew she did something wrong. I demanded a refund which after much arguing finally received. The problem is, that does not put the hair back on my dog. She looks ridiculous, and will continue to look that way for a very long time. Her skin is red and sore where the idiot groomer shaved. I am considering a law suit against petsmart. Next time she will go to a real groomer, not someone who is only going to shave her and then make excuses.

Breed restriction

I am very very upset about a policy that is implemented at the Petsmart Hotel. I have a 5 month old boxer and pit bull mix and I was informed I had to pay extra to make sure she had group play time because of her breed. My puppy Bizzy is one of the most friendly dogs I've ever met. She is energetic and gets along with every dog she's met. I am really upset that she is judged on her breed before anyone assesses her temperament. I realize this is store policy but it is an outrage and I feel they corporate should make a revision that bases if a dog should participate in group activity based on each dog's BEHAVIOR not the BREED. This is not a good way to represent your company or promote awareness that pit bulls can be very loving and gentle dogs if you train them properly.

Grooming

I took my dog to the new PetsMart location in University Heights, Ohio. They were unable to complete the grooming of my dog because he was "too active". They left him looking horrible!!!!! I attempted to work with the store manager and operations manager and rescheduled the appointment with a more experienced groomer. Long story short, one week later my dog still looks horrible. I was referred to a store that I was willing to drive to but they could not accomodate me until the weekend!!! So now I'm stuck with a horrible looking dog until God knows when!

I was born and raised on the Jersey Shore. I wanted to help somehow, so I contracted the adoption group I volunteer with, Greyhound Friends of New Jersey, and we got funds together to take cat/dog food to Friends of Southern OceanCounty Animal Shelter (New Jerey) to help the animals displaced by Hurricane Sandy. I was going to Costco, whcih was not open, and passed your store No. 1219, 62 Centerton Road, Mt. Laurel, NJ. I walked in, was immediately greated by Manager Ramon. I told him I needed help, I had $450 to spend on cat and dog food to go to Southern Ocean County to help the animals in need as a result of Hurricane Sandy. Ramon immediately got on the intercom, called for 2 flad bed loading hand trucks, and your Associate Jake came out to help. Ramon asked what I wanted and I said the most food we can get for our $$. He showed me the dog and cat foods on sale. I told him I would have no idea how to keep track of what was being spent, and he did. Knowing what the food was for, they also gave me a few store discounts to help spread the $$. Ramon and Jake filled a flat cart of food, then took it out to load it all into my van. Derik Stiegler, your Store Manager also came and helped. Everyone in your store, knowing Long Beach Island and how hard it was hit, sent me on my way with a smile on my face and warmth in my heart, they were wonderful. What a great way to start a very emotional journey for me yesterday. Please give kudos to all at Store 1219, they are the best. The warmth in my heart has carried me through having to go to my childhood home area in the midst of devastation, and the feeling is still there today.

2 bad experiences BACK TO BACK at the Torrance location. A manager by the name of GINA A. Was one of the rudest people I've ever met. Being in customer service, I know how to treat people (especially customers) and I have no idea how this woman is a manger by the way I was treated. I brought back a large dog bed for my new puppy that was too big, no problem, I'll just get a different one. It was expensive so I wanted my money back. I have horrible luck, and lost my receipt. Working in retail I know it's not a big deal to look my card up and give me my money back but Gina had an awful attitude to begin with ( even before I told her I didn't have my receipt) and made a huge deal about the fact that I didn't have it, and how much of a hassle it was to look it up. Next, I bought an expensive dog barrier for my car and it didn't fit. Again, couldn't find the receipt. Brought it back ( they had told me at time of purchase that of course I could return it, no problem...all of the other employees have been awesome) so just my luck- Gina is there and has to do my return. I wait in line ( not in her line ) and get to the front of the line as every other customer was doing. The nice employee whom line I was waiting in told Gina the situation, then Gina proceeds to yell over the customer that she is ringing up " you're going to just have to wait until we ring everyone up. " basically, pushing us aside and serving every one first, when we waited in line and are customers like everyone else. She was so rude. Finally, 30 mins later, she rang us up and was no where near nice while doing it. Scolded me for loosing the receipt, had an attitude about how long it was going to take her to look up my card. Because of her I will never shop there again.

As you are aware of the hurricane that has hit N.Y & a lot of other states, I have shopped in your stores for 20 years as being a pet owner of six dogs and also for buying things for other dogs, well today I visited your store In staten island on forest ave and I asked your manager if he would match my purchases to help feed the dogs here on staten island that are In demand of food ,and I was rejected I would have thought that your store would have had the respect to donate bags of food to which I was willing to bring to the drop off sites on staten Island, I must say shame on your company after all we the owners of dogs make your business what It Is today and you as a Corporate Headquarters should be ashamed of yourselves and I will do everything in my powers to let people know how selfish your store was, that they did not offer to donate to these animals in need, Your Company should be on the news for SHAME ON PETSMART
