My husband and I have used Pep Boys for awhile now. From CO. to AZ. to TX and now Lakeforest Cali. The second time in we were told to wait out in the hot sun due to me having my min pin with me. There were no signs of any kind stating you could not bring a dog in. So, I did as I have in the past and took my lil guy in with me. The manager, Derek did not tell me himself, yet he had a very nice young man to tell me I had to wait out in the heat while my car was being worked on. I called the service line to make a complaint and told them what happened while another employee named Pete proceeded to argue with me while I'm on the phone. I was so shocked at having to wait out in the heat first of all and then to be treated as someone who had done them wrong. It was horrible. I'm 49 and have kids of my own. I taught them how to be polite and to respect their elders. This group in management has yet to learn where their check comes from and could care less about the customer. The few who were great and knew how to be king were Josh and Tyler. I dont know what happened to pep boys but they are not the same anymore and I would not spend another dollor of our hard earned money in an establishment such as this. Pep boys has lost sight of being just basically kind to customers.

On August 13, 2011, I went to the Pep Boys in Stockton, CA to get new tires and an alignment. After waiting almost three hours the assistant service managers came to tell me that they could not complete the alignment, because they did not have the right tool to complete the job. However, he said "we can get it close enough". Then I said, "go ahead and complete the work". Then the technician stated, "I can only get the toe in done before we close". At this point I said, "take my car down and I will get it done somewhere else". No real apology, no discount for waiting three and a half hours for their incompetence. I will only visit Pep Boys to get the tires rotated and balanced to maintain their warranty, which I really doubt they even do that part of the job correctly. I will either go to Les Schwab or anywhere else to get my car worked on from now on.

The store at Summerlin 7399 W Lake mead Bl. Las Vegas, Nv 89128 I took my truck to them and told them to do a driveability evaluation change my plug wires and plugs only I get a bill with all this other stuff I did not authorize I got some of it removed and got tired of complaining They charged me for a fuel filter i did not ok. The fuel filter that was in my truck was only 5months old oly had 400 miles on it, there was noughthing wrong with it. They took out my 1,000,000 mile K&N air filter that was clean and change it with a cheaper filter. they did a tune up that i did not authorize I am demanding my money back on the fuel filter. $18.99 + lobor $74.40 total $93.39 store id 0819 work order 2070370 I cant belive that a store like this will do unauthorized work and expect to get paid for it. Can Pep Boys stop advertising in my area if there are no locations to satisfy the offers. I have wanted to get my car serviced at a location, but yet there is not one close to Kansas City, MO!!!! Stop the constant advertising!!!!

Only wish I could rate a 0. Car was taken in for windshield wiper not working and promised it was a 2hr job when told car had to be kept overnight for a part and then the next day after 1 pm told part had not been ordered yet and not sure what the real problem might be because it wasn't the motor for the windshield wiper after all. Really now, overnight for a windshield wiper not working and then not working on the car the next day either!!!!!!!Then they removed the motor and found out it wasn't the motor after all.(After being charged for the motor)So they had to go back and replace the original motor and found out it was the rack on the windshield.Bill went from $189 to over $400.

Today 7/5/11 at 11:30 am I went into Pepboys in frederick Md. Tried to buy 2 p275/60/15 tires ar $94.99 each and a bunch of body repair tools and oil about $400.00 worth of stuff. I was the only customer at the time but the girl working the tire counter apparently couldnt see my and I waited for about 15 min before I was waited on. A nice gentleman that noticed I hed been waiting helped me with the tires,we took the tires and other merchandise up to the front counter were I was asked for my bonus card. I told the cashier that I did not have it with me and gave her my number,it appeared on the computer screen along with my address but she said I wasent in the system,I asked than why did my address appear,she became very rude and belagerant calling me a dumb ass and said she didnt want to deal with me. Asking another cashier to take over ,I was very offended and said I did not want to proceded with the purchase because of the way I was being treated. The cashier said she didnt give a fuck about me and told me to go to hell. I said fuck you back and thats when she lunged at me as if to strike me, yelling at me that she has my address and will come to my residence to retaliate this evening. I left the store but went back a few minutes later to talk with the Manager and he told me to leave or the cops would be called. He took the side of the cashier with out even listening to me. I left for good and will never buy anything for pep-boys again and will do my best to warn all friends and family to avoid them at all cost. I am self-employed and have had my share of confrontations but I always treat the customer with the utmost respect no mater what the problem may be. I guess Pep-boys doesnt know how to train thier employees to be curtious and respectful to customers,please pass this on to everyone. Sinserely Garren Klimes

Pep boys is the worse mechanics company I have ever been to in my life. It's twice as expensive, the employees don't care, they have a horrible reputation, they screwed me over twice (fool me once), they don't care about the quality of service and are a danger to the road systems because poor repair service can mean life and death. I'm sure pep boys has killed at least a few people this year. Guarentee it actually if you look at statistics. All to make money. The company focuses on sales, not quality work. PERIOD. I have a mechanic now who really cares about the service they offer. And I'm never going back to a pep boys, not even to buy a part because they don't deserve a penny from me or any of my friends, family... If I had a few grand I'd post a big bulletin board next to their store saying "ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK".

Memorial Rd shop, Oklahoma City. Don't waste your time. They'll certainly waste yours. What should have taken a few minutes, cost me over three hours of my time, before I decided to go elsewhere for "Express Service" for a battery check.

I am an 80 year old man who once worked for Pep Boys about 30 yrs. ago. When I worked there honesty and integrity were key to keeping our customers happy and returning. I recently went to a location on Main St. in Hesperia, CA to get my brakes done. I made an appointment ahead of time and I was there waiting for them when they opened. I ended up being there 4hours and 45minutes for this routine service. Now I don't know about you but I think this was an extreme amount of time and totally unexceptable. I could have done this job in no more than 1 1/2hrs. First they didn't have the parts needed and had to call napa to get them and then they delivered the wrong part and I had to wait for them to redeliver the right one. It seemed as though we had to wait for them to come from China it took so long. Never once did anyone of your employees offer me a cup of coffee or a bottle of water or anything. As with most people my age we need to eat at certain times for medication and other reasons so it was imperative I get my car done in a reasonable amount of time. This is why I made my appointment for 8am. I let the service mgr. know how upset I was that this was taking so long and that I WOULDN'T be back again! He didn't seem to care, he just sassed me by saying, "yes you will when you need us again" I will never need them again. It cost me over $200.00 to be irritated, inconvenienced, lied to and insulted. Not to mention, physically sickened as I didn't get home until after 1pm. I'm sure this is not the way a "5 Star" business keeps its customers coming back. Please have someone retrain these employees in adequate customer service skills. Maybe you should consider going on the t.v. show "Undercover Boss" and see for yourself what really goes on at your service centers. Thank You.

I recently had 1,400.00 work done on a car that I purchased 1989 mecercedes benz 300 CE. The car was in great condition and all I brought it in for was to have the car Tuned Up and change the Air Filters and the and the sending device for the gasoline gage, oh and also change the oil and filter.it took Pep Boys 3 days to get the car back to me but that is not my complaint. I understand that they had to get some parts from the dealer. What I don't forgive and expect you to do nothing about the people who represent you is my car takes 6 quarts of Oil. due to the fact that they were in the process of shift change on a sunday. the second man who came on duty overfield my car by 3 quarts of oil.But instead of reporting the misshap they took it off the bill didn't tell any one about it. I took the car drove it arround and brought it back to Pepboys one week later with the complaint of the car smoking. your own mechanic discovered the mistake but no one listened to him all they did was drain 3.5 quarts of oil and handed me the car. I now stuck with a car that smokes and had to buy a new catalytic converter to pass smog here in california. Guess what ? new catalytic converter and new muffler and just passed smog. and they still had the nerve to charge me 1400 dollars. this happened at your pep boys in Granada Hills, in California zip code 91344 on Sunday the 29th of May. so what are you goin to do about it to back up your work my name is Sig Chavez and my adress is 17219 Lahey st. As a cutomer for over 20 years the service has gotten so bad that I would. Not recommend pep boys to my worst friend. Their service sucks and they poke around in your vehicle breaking shot and never claim responsiblity for shit they can not fix. Anyone willing to join a class action lawsuit. For the mt holly nj pep break up I will be designing a web site called pepboyscomplaints unsatified. Took my car in after paying 200 they got me for another 498 then lied about what they did.

Horrible I could not imagine worse. Dont buy there stock this is going to go down like a bad news story. Raleigh Store manager named Boone. Just a Liar he authorized a rebuilt part in my girlfriends car and never told us. We found out when it failed as they pulled the car out of the bays. OMG, these employees are LIARS. One of the people told us it was a rebuilt WHO authorized that Boone did. What is pep boys doing.I must ask myself that. Well they are a public held company so in there hiring this type of Liar they want to maximize profit at everybodies expence. Raleigh Store Boone . Be aware !!!! If I could rate with a 0 or negative , I would. Pathetic ! A 25 year customer disgusted with horrible customer service. WILL NEVER PURCHASE MERCHANDISE FROM PEP BOYS AGAIN. I rather pay more money some where else. Tried to return my merchandise from Lawmdale ,California store and cashier stated to leave merchandise on counter after waiting for a MNGR. for 30 mins. and pick up my next purchase and she would credit my return. Found my next item, waited in one line for over 20 mins. Finally mngr. arrives to say no receipt no return. Asked for some assistance, since was purchased on my credit card. Stated no, return ! I was shocked the merchandise was sealed w/Pep Boys logo and bag in prestine condition. I stated , I will accept the restock fee , originally just wanted store credit, still no we will not accept the return. FYI customer service is a big part of your business, with bad customer service comes bad business. I will forecast PEP BOYS becoming the next CHIEF AUTO PARTS they no longer exists.

My mother has been taken advantage of twice at the Pep Boy on Mobile HWy in Pensacola. All I can do is apoligize to her for not paying more attention. Shame on you Idiots. $260. the first time and $450 the second. Help me understand why you pay for parts and labor when the problem is not corrected. Help me understand why a car would be in worst shape then when you dropped it off to Pep Boys in Irving, TX. This is something that no one can understand. Their service is poor and even Pep Boys has no explanation for it. Don't go to Pep Boys. Don't waste your time and money.

this store would properly be rated as a negative five star but that is unfortunately not an option. i went to pepboys in bossier city, la yesterday march 27, 2011 for two new tires. i of course thought this should not be a big deal. i got a flat late saturday and parked my car for the nite. well it turned out that my spare my spare was flatas well so i had to borrow a tire that turned out to be too big for my car but had no choose but to drive it to pepboys from my home in that condition. i told them i wanted the the tire i had in the trunk and the other back tire replaced and rotated to the front. the tire that was too big was supposed to be put into my trunk. this did not seem like it was a complicated matter. so i go to pick my car uo shortly before they closed and for some reason had to have my month old battery jump stated. after my car finally cranked up i go to leave and notice that the too big borrowed tire is still on my car and the messed up tire is still iin my trunk. i went back up to the store to tell them about the mistake and was told that i had to bring my car back in the morning because they were closed and that i was to be first priority in the morning. so i had no choose but to drive my car with the too big tire back to my home which is almost thiry miles from the store. so sixty miles of scraping tire and 14 hours later i am back at pepboys. other cars were brought in before mine and i ended up spending an hour waiting for something that should have taken twenty minites. i missed an hour and a half of work this morning to take care of something that should have been fixed on the spot. also i dont even know what tire they replaced. so $212 later i still have the gimpy tire that needed to be replaced is still on my car. i called the manager this morning to ask about getting some kind of discount due to their negligence and unprofessionalness and the fact that i had to miss some work to take care of something that should have been fixed that day whether it was close to closing time or not. the manager told me that i would not be reimbursed for lost time. so i guess that my time is of no importance. then i was laughed at. never again will i take my vehicle to pepboys for any reason. hopefully if any people around my area read this it will convince them to not support this evil corportaion

This is my second trip to p boys for tires .the first time took four hours from the time my car was brought in to install four tires . It's been my experience that it can and should be able to finish in less than an hour . This store only has one tire changing person ,so I guess she just takes her time . It's unacceptable ,and a waste of your customers time . I hope this issue is addressed by the next time I look for tires.

I purchased 4 new tires and an oil change at Pepboys in wilkes Barre PA on 2/8/11. My bill was almost $700. On 2/14/11 later I take my van to my mechanic. He is unable to take my front tire off because of 2 lugs that are cross treaded. I called peepboys on 2/15/11 and told them of the issue and that I couldn't make it in until Saturday because of my work schedule. I go into Pepboys on Saturday and get to the counter and Bob was very quick to talk down to me and quickly defend Pepboys was not the cause of my problem. When nobody else has touched my tires. They did fix the 2 lugs however, Bob made me wait out of spite. knowing I had 2 sml children with me and had to pick up my older son from practice. I called the 800# and the manager Brian called me today. All he could offer me was 2 free oil changes. I couldn't accept because that would mean having to have return business with Pepboys. When also talking with Brian he said that he had 2 friends that came in the same day to have workdone and they told him that I was the one out of line. Bran also tried to tell me that the PB uses manual tighting for the tires. Well thats also a lie because the cross threading would not have happened if that ase case. Thats some real management they have there!!!!! Seems like they hire whoever comes in off the street. Now I have to take my van back to my mechannic to have the other tires checked. If they have any cross threading I will be forced to return back to PB but this time I will bring the news station with me.
