Today I walked into this store and kindly approached the sales cashier she happened to be the store manager I asked if she had any job openings and she replied no and I that was ok. I then asked for her name and she tol d me I didn't need it. At first i thought i heard wrong but no she was not going to give me it.If this is a store manager why would she not give me her name? She was really unprofessional and rude. I would rate this store very low and recommen for people to give use another store location

we had such a bad experience on 1/4/13 in the payless mall thought that managers were supose to help you but no there were rude coments calling us name and threw a trash down the isle because we threw some trash away if you are having a bad day stay home from work!

MY DAUGHTER WORKS FOR PAYLESS AND SHE JUST TOLD US SHE HAS TO WORK FROM 9AM TO 5PM. SHE DOES NOT GET TO SEE HER GRANDMOTHER VERY MUCH AND THIS IS ONE OF THE DAYS GRANDMA CAN MAKE THE TRIP. SHE HAS TO RETURN HOME EARLY SO SHE WILL NOT GET TO SEE HER GRANDCHILD AT ALL. DO YOU REALLY THINK THERE WILL BE ANYONE BUYING SHOES ON THANKSGIVING. SHAME ON YOU FOR NOT CLOSING FOR THE DAY OR AT LEAST BY NOON.

MY GRANDDAUGHTERS,DAUGHTER AND SON-IN LAW ,AS WELL AS MYSELF WENT TO THE PAYLESS SHOE STORE ON SUNSET AND MARKS STREET. THE SALES GIRL WAS RUDE AND NOT AT ALL PLEASANT. SHE TOLD US ALL GREEN SALES TAGS, AS WELL AS ALL OTHER SALES TAGS DID NOT APPLY TO THE BUY ONE GET ONE HALF OFF. MY GRANDDAUGHTER'S EACH PICKED A PAIR OF SHOES AND THE SALES GIRL SAID THEY WERE BOTH FULL PRICE . NONE OF THE SHOES HAD A SALES TAG, BUT ONE OF THEM HAD A SPECIAL NAME AND THE SALE DID NOT APPLY. SO, WE WALKED OUT WITH NOTHING. THIS WAS ABOUT 12:30 IN THE AFTERNOON. WE WILL NOT BE GETTING SHOES FROM PAYLESS AGAIN.. THEIR SALE SIGNS MEAN NOTHING.

Yesterday I went into the Durango, Colorado Payless Shoe store. I was looking for a pair of flat black shoes. I tried several pairs on...walked in them...none of them fit right.. I had shoes and boxes all over the floor. The salesgirl asked if she could help me. I told her I had found the perfect pair, just what I wanted and they were SO comfortable. Only thing was, they were ten dollors more than what I had. She said, "please wait, I will check to see if they are on sale or mismarked" she went out of her way to check...came back and said that they WERE on sale and I had just enough to buy them. I was SO excited! I offered to clean up the mess I had made with the shoes, she said she would take care of it. Her name is Connie and deserves a big hurrah. I will never forget her (of course her name happened to be the same as mine) but her willingness to go out of her way to help me was wonderful. I will for sure shop at other Payless Shoes in the future. Thank you. If there is anyway possible, I would appreciate it if you could let her supervisor know of her kindness and exceptional customer service.

I will never enter the doors of the Grants Pass store again. Today I was disgusted by the service that the two women employees gave to a young foreign man. He had a hard time speaking English and was trying to buy some boots and socks. He was short .72¢ and they were not going to let him have the boots. He was trying desperately to figure out what they were saying. He realized that he didn’t have enough money and started to take off the boots to give them back and put on his falling apart tennis shoes. By then I was so mad by the whole episode I walked up and gave them the money. It turns out he is riding a motorcycle from Canada and clearly needed some warmer shoes. Had it been a larger dollar amount I can understand them making such a fuss, but .72¢? Please give me a break. When they asked if I had found anything, I commented that I would not be buying anything from this store again, because their service to that young man was really appalling.

Have you seen their latest concert ad? Not only horrible but offensive as well. Bad reputation for music teachers, schools, and kids trying to learn music.

You have a VERY SNIPPY sales person in your Harford Mall, Bel Air, MD store named Lana. I've gone in this store for years and never encoutered anything but helpful courteous sales people. Today was the extreme opposite. Lana is hurting you. There are many courteous people out there who would love to have that job and I think you should think about making a change.

I recently visited a store in Williamsport pa and the girl said they didn't have the shoe I wanted so she tracked down a pair at another store called an reserved them an gave me a discount for my trouble I was thoroughly pleased an excited because I looked for that exact pair all day!!! Her name was Courtney at easy third street in Williamsport pa, I'm from the south an was not from the area so it was so comforting to have that extra effort!!'

I'm sorry that the lowest rating I can give is a 1. My opinion is running on the minus side. I work at a school. I was given 2 $25 gift cards to purchase shoes for students in need. I went to the Payless store at Parkway Plaza, El Cajon, CA. They had a poor selection of shoes available, but I did find 2 pair of shoes. I spent $32.60 and was told I would not get the gift card back nor would they refund the balance. Huh? After spending 30+ minutes in the store trying to get an understandable explanation I left. My hope was to be able to straighten this out at a later time. A few days later I called and spoke with the Manager, Bob. Of course he wanted to help me, but there was nothing he could do! He suggested maybe one of the cards had been used prior to my visit or that the cards were a 1 time use only. I had had these cards several days before using them so I know they were not used prior to my visit and I don't remember seeing a 1 time use only declaration on the card. I have to hand it to you Payless. There are many retail scams out there, but this one takes the cake. I have many children that could have used the additional pair of shoes I should have been able to purchase. Needless to say I will never again shop for shoes at Payless and I will recommend that all of the 650 families at my school shop anywhere but your stores for their shoes.

I am disappointed that payless have managers that do not know payless policies, I purchased a pair of shoes for my granddaughter, she did not like them so I returned them with my receipt, the cashier called the manager that was at another store and asked her about my refund, the manager said that since I had paid with a check, I would have to get a store credit, well I knew that this was not right, I have shopped at payless for over 35 years. And beside the store policy is posted on the counter, I had to drive from Garland to Rowlett, where the manager was at, and she really didn't know the store policy. She had to call another store manager to find out what to do. I am not happy, I had to use extra gas, because the store manager didn't know her own store policy. Shame! shame! shame!

My name is Shirley Johns I bought my Grandsom a pair of boots for school the casher said I had a 90 day warrant which I was told by another store clerk. Not even a month went by and I had to take I boots back because the boots were coming apart to be told that all they could was give me a store credit.Well I got another pair of boots and spent more money on the second pair of booths.Well It has not even been a week and these boots to are aLSO COMING APART. i DON,T WANT A STORE CERDIT THIS TIME i want a refund because I have my receipt All t My phone number is he store that you take the product and the receipt to refund your money. Shes evil, she changed my time out time through the system and paid me less??!! it hurts because ive worked with payless for so long and they do this to me ? she asks me to pick up trash by my hands ? She is crazy, she sits at the back and asks 1 associate to clean the whole store ? she is just plain evil, i just hope she dies in hell.

I went into a Payless shoe store on Saturday, August 25 around 1pm. As I was looking at the stock a employee climbed a high ladder next to me and dropped a couple of boxes on my head. This is 5 days later and I have a knot on my head and have not been feeling my ususal self. I haven't gone to a doctor and didn't want to make a big issue of it. However; when discussing the incident with others I realize how dangerous this type of behaviour on behalf of the employees could be. No one asked my name or how to get in touch with me and I assume it wasn't reported. I told the employee, who seemed concerned, that I realized it was an accident and refused her offer for a 30% discount. Anyone going into a store should be careful this could be very dangerous especially for a small child.

I was shopping at the Stonewood Center Mall in Downey,CA. Looking for a handbag for my mother-in-law. I had a coupon for Payless, a $10.00 off if I spend $25.00. So being the coupon expiring the next day I went into Payless to purchase the Christian Seriano handbag. The cashier would not take my coupon because it needed to be $25.00 dollars. What the heck the tag said $24.99 for a penny? She was trying to sell me some inserts for shoes. Making my sales way over what I wanted to spend. I have used these coupons at Payless and many other department stores. And for 1 cent they have taken my coupon and made there sale. In this economy make the sale and make the customer happy. I'm pretty sure Payless will not go under for 1 cent. I did not purchase the handbag at Payless, but walked over to Kohl's and used there $10.00 coupon and got a handbag there.

Was in payless on saturday August the 25th, in owen sound on, and I have never had such pathetic service as I did there. I worked there for a short time and because I quit I guess they figure I'm beneath them. two of them were working today one being the manager and not once did they look at me or ask If I needed any help. As soon as someone else walked in they were all over them. I figure if you don't like your job find something else. I work in customer service too and I would never dream of treating my customers or employees like that. If I did I wouldn't even expect to keep my job.

Went to their store in Richardson,TX..Store #985. WORDS CANNOT DESCRIBE HOW TERRIBLE AND POOR THEIR SERVICE IS. I was working at payless in canada and not happy the way the manager appoaching to their employee she have complains of what i did wrong instead caoching. Also she had hired his sons friend to work at payless. If i have to say something about this person not doing right she does not want to listen. I think there should be policy with hiring friends and family at payless.

payless is the worst company to work for and wouldn't even recommend to my worst enemy. the district managers are idiots and you can never go to them for help. They are always telling you one thing and than coming back for another visit and denying they said that so you end up getting written up. They demote are fire people in hopes of saving their job even though they do not have just cause. They expect us to act like commission sales people even though we get nothing but yelled at for not getting good customer service score.They also make us collect personal information from customers without telling them why we are doing it. For example I'm supposed to go phone number,name address, email without ever telling them I'm signing them up for a rewards program. Don't the customers have the right to know. Yet i am forced to do it because if we do not hit are capture rate the will wright us up or terminate us. I can go on and on about what they do that is wrong but i guess I'm going to get an attorney. I'm tired of being treated poorly and i know other people are too so lets all expose this company for what it is really about. If enough of us unhappy associates and customers complain or take it to the next level than the will be forced to make changes for the better. I'm gathering other associates in the Washington State area but we need to get all states involved. Lets not take this mistreatment anymore. I've read your complaints and mine are the same. Its time to make changes before another great associate looses their job because the big wigs have there head no where
