Management needs imrpovement

I have been working for Payless for 2 years now and I haven't had one good compliment about it since. It is not a job I wake up to happy to go to work the next day. My manager is never at the store and leaves me and another lady in charge doing HIS work! If anything goes wrong he blames everything on us. He calls the store every hour to see how our UPT's are doing and so on, but if we say their low he goes mad and starts harrasing he is going to cut our hours. I mean is this any way to talk to your employees? Also he fixes his own timesheets to show that he works 43 hours a week but he's only at the store for 20 hours a week. This is getting pretty ridiculous. Just because your a manager doesnt mean you should be taking advantage of your priviledges.

Disappointing and frustrating

Doing an exchange on a pair of shoes. The price difference was $8. I didn't have my American Express with me and after talking to the manager the cashier said I couldn't do my exchange BC of it. I said that was unacceptable and insisted on talking to manager myself. She then talked to her again and put the $8 credit on my MasterCard . This was very upsetting to me BC it held up the line and I didn't think the girl working the cashier position was trained properly. :( I don't think I'll be shopping there ever again.

Horrible customer service

This morning I decide to buy some shoes in payless located in Chicago IL. 4707 s kedzie ave. It was a terrible store to start with. The manager seems she was on drugs. What I heard from that store is that the girls who work there looks half naked it. Thats why I shop there. This workers should get FIRE! Immediatly

My daughter works as an assistant manger in Houston TX. She has not received her pay check, she calls and is told that it had been sent outut had been sent out. She is still waiting on two other pay checks that are owed to her and she isn't the only employee waiting for their pay. Sad that your employees are being treated this way.

Leave of Absebce Coordinator

I am currently on a leave of absence due to giving birth to my daughter. For the first week of my leave, I called in my hours on Monday June 17th. The girl I spoke to apparently did not submit my time and therefore I didn't receive a paycheck on Friday June 21st. I have called at least 6 times about this issue and still have not received that paycheck. I have left the leave of absence coordinator, Dianna Geller, 3 messages and she has yet to return any of my calls. I have also called the human resource manager and left 3 messages. I feel like Payless employees should be treated a whole lot better than this. If Payless doesn't care about it's employees why should we care about Payless? it's been almost a month that this issue has been going on and not one person has done anything to fix it. it's absolutely ridiculous. I should recieve interest on this paycheck they refuse to grant me. The leave of absence coordinator obviously does not care about her job, and I'm starting to think she never even works, she's never there when I call. I'm an assistant manager, and it's sad that my employees and myself work our butts off for this corporation and this is how we get treated in return. Very disappointing.

Stunned by BOGO cheap shot

I am absolutely astonished by the shoddy policy of BOGO. I bought my husband a pair of shoes @ full price, and then was talked into participating in the BOGO sale by a clerk. I purchased a cheap little pair of sandals, ONLY because they were 1/2 off. I NEVER would have paid full price for them! We had to return my husband's shoes, unfortunately, because they didn't fit. To my amazement, I was told that the sale would have to be rung up as a return on both pairs, and I would be charged for the full price of my pair! This is a disgusting practice, one I have NEVER seen in all my years of retail advertising. Seriously! Have any of you EVER had to return an item that was part of a sale and been told you now had to pay full price for any item you got on sale as part of that order? imagine it! "I'd like to return this milk from my grocery order. it was sour." "ok ma'am, but now we insist that you pay for the cookies you got free as part of our 'buy a gallon, get a cookie' promotion." I am just flabberghasted!

Unbelievable

I went into a Payless Store in El Paso, TX only to find one clerk, this young lady was doing an outstanding job. I just can't believe shewas by herself, no other clerk. God forbid something happen to her or worst yet be robbed, assulted. What is her manager thinking, if she is thinking at all. If anything ever happens to her Payless is looking a lawsuit. Piss poor Management, if you can't afford another clerk then you should be at the store, that's what a good manager does!!!!

Complaint - Hilltop Richmond Store location

Good afternoon. I shopped at your store in Richmond Hilltop for many years and never have I ever experienced walking into the store with you customer service present. I took the escalator upstairs and found the store manager visiting another store and having a full conversation. I did inform her that I just left her store and had been in there fore 10 minutes she then returned to the store. Is this continuous behavior even on breaks? Is the store allowed to lend bags to other stores that have run out?

Just wanted to let you know about my great experience in your store yesterday with Devante' (Store #4957 in Anderson,SC). For the past year I have undergone 2 amputations on my left foot. I just received special inserts and the doctor suggested I wear tennis shoes for a while. I entered your store and was promptly greeted and could he assist me. I told him what I needed and about the inserts. He told me to have a seat (I use a cane) and then brought me several shoes to try on. He allowed me some time to try on the shoes while he assisted other customers but he always came back to check on me. He was very friendly and out going. I do hope this review gets to the proper people. I have worked in retail for 40 years and it seems sometimes that customers only want to talk about bad experiences which I do know needs to be addressed but very seldom does someone talk about their great experience. To me, this fine gentlemen went well beyond customer service.

Don't work or shop at any Payless!

This company is so pathetic. I've been working here for just a short time but I have hated every minute of it! As employees, we are basically supposed to "harass" the customer. We have set goals to show shoes, give fake compliments and up sale everything, and if we don't, we are let go because we are not performing our duties. The company also tracks how many customers come in and buy something, using a censor by the door so if you wonder why you are being bombarded with items being shoved in your face, it's because we have to. Also, the lack of security is pathetic. I have been asked three times if I am the only one in the store and if I usually work alone. The company is too cheap to either have two people close or at least install a monitor! I mean come on, I could be kidnapped and the company could care less!!! Plus, the managers and district leaders are lazy and pathetic. I would love to get paid what they get paid to just sit in front of a computer all day and write "Are numbers are low store XXXXX, sell, sell, sell. You can do it!" And I want to mention the customer service is horrible! I have never been so ashamed at how Payless employees treat their customers! And lastly, the shoe quality sucks. I'm sorry but everything is overpriced and made so poorly. Shop elsewhere!!! Seriously!!!!!

I purchased a pair of shoes online site to store and they said that it would take 14 - 17 days for the shoes to arrive to the store. After 25 days(from the time it shipped)I have not received a phone call or email from the store saying that my shoes have arrived. I emailed customer service and they told me that the shoes would be there April 09 and not to contact them,contact the store(where my shoes are suppose to arrive)directly,and right today i still have not received not one notification from them so i just wrote the BBB(Better Business Bureau) about it and see what they gone do,and i will tell you this(and you may have heard this may times before but i mean what i say cause i have done it before with other stores)I will never step foot in a Payless Shoe Store and I will suggest to everyone that I know and don't know to never buy from Payless Shoe Source online or got to a Payless Shoe Store again.And the only reason why i choose them anyway was because they were the only one besides Shoe Carnival that i knew right off the back of my hand that was a shoe store,cause i didn't feel like searching online for any other ones,and i didn't go to Shoe Carnival(this was my first choice by the way) first cause i had thought they were very pricey turn out that they actually some lower prices and they had a sale on shoes that are a lower price than Payless,Baby Phat too(i love Baby Phat)but they were out of stock by the time i found out,If i had went to Shoe Carnival first like my first instinct said i could have my shoes right when i purchased them(in store)and save money(stupid second instinct),but now i'm going to(try)to always listen to my first instinct.And i know that from now on i'm going to shop at Shoe Carnival or other stores&online stores for shoes.

I went into a payless shoe store to get some shoes for myself and grandkids. I was very upset to see that the only person that was working was a young lady that was very sick. She was coughing so hard you could tell she was in pain and had a high temp. When I asked her why she was at work and not at home resting her reply was " I called in but the manager told me to deal with it, that she couldnt come in and their was no one else to work." Is this how a big corporation treats their employees? She was infecting everyone that came into the store! She said that the other employee had the day off. HELLO PEOPLE!! that other employee should have come to work and took a different day off. Its called teamwork.

Really don't understand why the really older woman at your payless in clackamas store, talks about employees on the sales floor. She has short hair I would say she has to be 60. I was in the store to buy shoes not listen to an old woman complaining about people who were working there. I had a coupon the oman was rude and wouldn't take it. She accused me of tearing off the expire day. You canjust forbet me coming back.

What a difference a week makes

Playless what are you thinking??? You all have a new manager working at the fairgrounds mall Reading p.a. Why? She is horrible. Find someone, or something to treat customers right. She talks behind customers backs in a derogatory way in her Deminicain language. She murmured stuff under her breath about her employees. I have one word to say "BAD"

Greetings. Today I was unpleasantly taken back as I entered the Payless store here in Alpharetta, Ga on North Point Parkway near the Target. I had gone into the store to purchase some sneakers for my daughter but as I entered the male employee at the counter yelled profanities into the phone. Shocked and uncomfortable as can be we decided to take our business elsewhere. I have never seen such unprofessionalism in all my years. The words that flowed so freely out of the young man's mouth are awful and should be looked into. Sincerely- a very unhappy customer

In December I purchased boots on-line and the order said that it would take 14 - 17 days for the boots to be shipped to the store. After 22 days I have not received a phone call from the store saying that my boots have arrived. I called Customer Service and they informed me that they do not know where my boots are and that they would refund my money. I didn't want a refund I wanted these boots that I ordered but there were none in stock. I talked to the manager and he said that there was nothing he could do. I told him that I deserve another pair of boots that they shoud pay for, but he said that they could not do that. He just wanted to send me a coupon on my next order of shoes. I will never step foot in a Payless Shoe Store and I will tell everyone I know not to ever place an order there or go to a Payless Shoe Store. This was a gift for my daughter and know she has no boots thanks to Payless Shoe Store!!

Women's Karmen Pump

I absolutely love this shoe; if you had made it with just a little more toe room, I would have bought so many pairs and every single color and backups. But, due to the lack of toe room, the rest of the shoe is very comfortable but you can't wear them long because the toe hurts so badly. The colors and styles are great; could you please, please come out with this shoe again with a little more toe room so I can buy tons of pairs and will buy all colors you have.

I worked at this store for about two months and that was all I could handle. They are unorganized, rude, and do not at ALL care about their employees. It's a disgusting corporation and I feel embarrassed to have worked there as long as I did.
