My Movado watch stopped and, when taken to a watchmaker, I was quoted a price of $125 to $150 to repair it, plus the battery which was just a few months old was dead and would have to be replaced. I told the watchmaker to just return the watch to me as this was too much to repair what was advertised as a "really good watch". I think I will, since it's no good anyway, return it to Movado with my comments. Based upon the other reviews I have read, Movado is very good at ignoring their problems. So, I will never hear from them again. This was my last Movado.

I HAVE OVER 13 MOVADOS BETWEEN ME AND MY WIFE ,I SENT A WATCH THAT NEEDED A GLASS ONLY AND THE SENT A REPAIR BILL THAT WAS OVER 1200.00+ AND THE WATCH WAS IN A WORKING FINE AND HAD BEEN WORKING FINE ,OTHER THAT A BROKEN GLASS THAY TOLD ME I NEEDS OVER 15 PARTS AND I DONT KNOW HOW THEY COME UP WITH THAT AT ALL, THIS WILL BE MY LAST TIME BUYING A MOVADO EVER

First of all, I would give them ZERO stars, but that was not an option. I purchased a Movado for my husband as a wedding gift 7 years ago. I had to replace the battery twice on it and the last time I sent it in for a battery repair and to have the bands cleaned, they called us and told us that the movement was not working properly and wanted another $182 to fix it ontop of the $142.36 we had just paid to send off to them. They said they would only offer a one year warranty after they fix the movement on it. I told them forget it and to send the watch back. This company does not appreciate their customers at all and does not know the definition of customer service. I will NEVER buy a Movado again and I will be sure to tell everyone I know anout them.

I am so thrilled to see this complaint board! I bought my Movado for a landmark birthday 10 years ago. Had to replace battery twice, then the watch stopped working. This last time the customer service told me that the watch needed a complete overhaul and had I replaced a $6 item in the watch during the last battery change, it would have been fine. I was shocked that no one told me and they quoted me a price of $150 to fix it. I have owned many decent watches and my grandfather was a watchmaker so I know about watches. This and all the above anecdotes should not be happening to people. This is the way to eliminate brand loyalty. I took the Movado back from the Rockefeller center store (too expensive to fix it) and will buy a Seiko. The lower end brands are more committed to quality and now look better than ever before.

Very disappointed with my Movado watch. And the cost to repair them is crazy. I will never buy another Movado. I have a $2500.00 watch that is useless. I'm going to take it to a jeweler to see if the diamonds can be removed and made into something else.

I have a Series 800 Stainless Steel watch, for the second time in a few months the band has broken (probably a pin). The first time, for $35 plus shipping a new link was sent to me and the local Kay jewelers put the pins in. This time the bank broke (pin) hire towards the face. Movado wants $320 to replace the entire band! What they havent realized is that the prices of these watches have plummetted since they were first sold. I can get a brand new model for about $100 more. This wasnt the only issue I had with the watch. (the first time they said it was my fault, which I argued and they replaced (under warantee)). They do not seem interested in doing the best for the customer, only to have the most take out of a simple repair (could replace one part of the link instead of the entire bracelet). Luckily I live near the Paramus locaction and can pick up and drop off myself. I am not paying for the repair (will look for replacement parts on my own) and get a different brand.

My Movado watch stopped and figured it needed a new battery. So like a good trooper I took it to your authorized dealer in Los Angeles West Coast Watch who proceeded to tell me it needed about $373.00 in repairs plus another $130 bucks for a strap. Politely declined the offer and took my watch to a jeweler in Century City who installed a new battery and leather strap for $91 bucks including tax. The watch is running fine. Movado has just taken a "brand hit" by contracting with a greedy dealer. Very disgusted

I HAVE TWO MOVADO WATCHES AND THE SPORT WATCH I PURCHASED IN WEST PALM BEACH, FLA. IN APRIL OF 06'. THE SPORT BAND HAS CRACKED TWICE AND I JUST RECEIVED WORD FROM MOVADO THAT (A) THEY DON'T MAKE THE BAND ANY LONGER-WHY? BECAUSE IT WAS A POOR DESIGN AND BE THEY CAN NOT REPLACE IT WITH ANY BAND BECAUSE OF WATCH DESIGN. I NOW HAVE A $1,300.00 WATCH WHICH IS WORTHLESS. SO MUCH FOR THE NAME "MOVADO" AND QUALITY. I WILL GO BACK TO THE NAMES OF OLD. THIS IS POOR CUSTOMER SATISFACTION !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Movado watches are too expensive. With the economy today they are bound to be out of business soon!

WOW, where do I begin? Ok, it all strated last year when my girlfriend's watch STOPPED ticking. Apparently the battery gave up on us and we decided to ship it to the Movado Headquarters in New Jersey. I sent it for repairs last year (2010) way before the Christmas Holidays. The cost to repair a battery along with the crystal face/case was way too expensive hence I asked the Movado Group to ship my watch back.

When I received my item via FED EX, my watch came back damaged as if a dog chewed on it. The bracelet was detached from the face case, the case was damaged and it appeared as if my watch went through WORLD WAR 3. I called a representative at Movado and they said AND I QUOTE: "take it up with Fed Ex NOT us" so that was my next step. Once I filed a claim with Fed Ex, they said AND I QOUTE: "it is out of tour hands and you should take it up with the sender" so I decided this issue was not going to progress. Fast forward to January, a representative from Movado was able to contact me about my issue and sure enough was able to ressurect my case. So I was going under the impression that FINALLY justice was going to be served.....unfortunately it was not. I was told by the representative AND I QUOTE: "we will fix the issue, just mail us back the watch and we will take a look at the watch and gladly fix the issue" mind you I spoke clearly stated to the representative the watch was in very bad condition and I never sent it the way I received it, so I shipped the watch back to Movado and as of TODAY 2/3/11, I am told I have to pay for repairs.....WOW!!!!

That's just the icying on the cake....get this....Fed Ex was kind enough to give Movado $100.00 for the case I opened against them.....Movado then tells me AND I QUOTE: "because you have an estimate on your watch and you will have to pay for the repair, we will include th3 $100.00 Fed Ex gave us and apply it to your repair estimate......so if I DO NOT agree with the terms Movado will still be issued AND will end up with $100.00 because of MY issue and I end up with NOTHING, just a mutilated/damaged watch with no repairs done to it what so ever??????? ARE YOU SERIOUS??????? Your Revenue in 2009 was $460,857,000 now I can imagine how much is your Revenue for 2010....and this company is giving me a very HARD AND EXCRUCIATING TIME to do what's right and to fix the situation at hand???? WOW, THAT'S VERY UNFAIR AND I would hate to drag this issue to court BUT if I have to I will. Please do what's right Movado and fix my watch ASAP. You guys STILL have my watch and I suggest and urge you to DO WHAT'S RIGHT!!!! Thank you!

This is to educate you all in Movado watches. Never take it to a jeweler who is not an authorized dealer that can replace the battery. Movados have a special seal on the crystal, crown and case back. If that seal is not replaced after the case back has been removed it can damage the movements and make your warranty null and void. Not every jeweler can replace a Movado battery and should warn you to go elsewhere if they are not equipped to do so properly. It is not a cheap battery to replace but it should last at least 5+ years. Rolex is the same. You pay a high end price for the watch and you have to pay a high end price to maintain it as well. It is all part of the package. I completley love and stand by Movado.

Mario this one is for you. I worked in the jewelry industry and have sized many watches as well. Movado pins will not stay in the links if the barrel, a tiny little piece within the link, is gone. I will bet you had it sized to fit you and the person who did it did not know that and lost the barrel. Once the barrel is gone the pins are too loose to stay in the link. My suggestion is to have someone order you a new link for your watch. If you can, get it back to the jeweler who sized it for you and tell them that is what must have happened, if they are a reputable jeweler they should eat the cost for the new link.

Hello My name is Mario F Rendon I write this letter because of my dissapointment with my watch. I use to always admire Movado watches when I was kid and use to look at them at the Jelewery Store behind the glass. I told my self that one day when i get a good paying job I'll buy me a Movado watch and took a long time for me to be able to afforda Movado watch. It was't until 2005 I went to work in a war zone in Afghanistan that I can finally afford the watch I always dreamed of owing some day and so I bought myseldf a beautiful Movado Sapphire watch. It watch was stylish and modern looking.I fell in love with it when I first saw it online at Shopzilla.com but it has been nothing but a dissapointment since owed this watch i taken it to like five different jeweler's to fix the problem that no one know's why it keep's fallign apart on me the pin's keep coming out and no one can fix it iam just tired of not been able to wear it and dissapointed that i spend the kind of money and not be able to enjoy it I wish this does't happen to anyone. Im writing this letter because it fell of my wrist thirty minutes ago causing a minor chip on the glass. So the Movado brand I once dreamed of having is something i would never consider buying ever again. The sad thing it can not be fixed unless I weld it and that's too expensive Iam gonna have to buy a watchband now so i can wear it but it's not gonna look nice. Thank you for your time and I won't mind if you wanna send me a watchabnd for that watch which cost like $800 which is what I paid for that watch.

My wife purchased a Museum Movado watch as a gift for me in 1997. It was purchased at the Movado Outlet Store in Saint Augustine, Florida. It was given to me two weeks after purchase and had a dead battery, which the Store replaced free. That battery lasted about a month. I took it to a local watch repair place and had the battery replaced. That battery lasted about three months. I noticed that the watch back had the word "SECOND" imprinted onto it. My wife, accompanied by her friend, were never informed that this watch was a "SECOND" and when I wrote the manager of the Movado Store in St. Augustine, he denied that his store sold "SECONDS". When I photographed the watch back showing the inscription "SECOND", that evidently terminated his interest in contacting or hearing from me again. I sent additional pictures and a copy of the letters to the Attorney General of the State of Florida to register a complaint. Action on that strategy is still pending. I am seeking a complete refund of sale price for a FRAUDULENT sale. I do not wear the watch because the back does not fit correctly and comes off when the watch is worn.

This is my second letter to your company. The first was written on Feb.17,2010. No answer. My #87G4875 5321593 Movado watch stopped working after 5 years. I took it to a Jeweler and had the battery replaced. It lasted one week. Took it to another Jeweler it lasted one hour. I took it back and was told it must be serious and would cost over $200.00 to fix !! Is it possible a watch of this value can be so short lived ? My son received this watch for ten years service and he gave it to me. Perhaps people who own Movada watches can afford to have them repaired, I can't. I can wear it as a piece of jewelery and when people ask the time I can tell them it doesn't work. I woud appreciate any information you can give me. Perhaps the correct battery , if you think that is the problem. Thank you. Norma Thompson, 33 Harvey Lane, Westboro,Ma. 01581
