Wish that Merle Norman would improve shipments to Victoria, been 2 weeks waiting for Moisture cream and it is very poor business for all. Waste of everyone's time and leads to going else where to buy somewhere else. Someone needs to stop changing the boxes and etc. and just leave what is working now.

I switched from Mary Kay to Merle Norman after 25 years with Mary Kay because they discontinued my face make up color. I have used Merle Norman for the past 10 years and I am not happy to report the change in the liquid eye liner and there discontinuation of the water proof eyeliner. I have to now apply their regular eye liner at least twice a day as it continually comes off. I am thinking about switching all my skin care and make up products to another company if Merle Norman doesn't listen to their customers and quit dicontinuing products that their customers like.

I too love Merle Norman and have been using the Total Finish and Ultra Powder forever. When I bought it last week, I noticed the new packaging, and was also told that they changed the packaging due to customers liking the smaller compact better. I was not told that there was less product in the packages. When I called customer service they told me that the Total Finish was smaller, but the Ultra Powder was the same. It is not. I would not have minded paying more, but feel like I was lied to about the whole thing. This really makes Merle Norman look bad. They should be up front with their customers or they will eventually lose them.

A customer for 45 years Loved it. Trusted Merle Norman Now I am sooooooo disappointed. Total Finish has been changed in price, quanity and quality. The company is taking their customers for idiots. I loved it when people asked what kinda of make-up I wore. I don't know if that will happen again as I am checking out other cosmetics. Wake - up Merle Norman -- start caring about your product and your customers. Your reputation is going down the tube.

Went to pick up my foundation today at Merle Norman and discovered that they have changed the amount from 22g to 16g for the Total Finish Compact Makeup and charged the same price. Not a good move on their part. Too many companies to go to today. See ya Merle Norma. Customer for over 20 years.

I would rate your procucts that I use 5 stars however I am disappointed with the new packaging. I have used total finish makeup and sheer face powder since 1990 when a wonderful lady in Greenville,Sc helped me find the perfect make-up to cover my rosacea. So why I am I disappointed with the new packaging? Makeup old package .80oz (22g)--new package .55oz (16g)--powder old package 4oz--new package 3oz..and they are still priced the same. If the packaging is reason for less product --can we go back to the old please. Thank you.

Wanted to shop my hometown, so decided to try Merle Norman Cosm. First lady thought I was warm undertone so gave me full coverage cremey beige. Used it, but looked kinda orange/tan--neck was lighter. I wasnt happy so went back in, Second lady thought I was cool undertone. Try ivory with almost tan powder, almost perfect in outdoor light. Went in to show second lady that helped me, and we went outdoors, light better to see if matches neck color. The owner opened the door, and asked lady to come in & help client inside. We walked in & she said she was helping me & I was a client. Owner, still on phone said oh. Then owner got off of phone, I said I was the hard to match skin person. I ask her opinion, the OWNER said I looked GHOSTLY. I almosted cried. Ask for money back on powder. THe owner informed me she has been doing this for 15 years, I told her, her customer service sucked. A better way to say it would have been you look alittle pale or white inside. This was just my story. Geni

It is sad that Merle Norman has decided to rip us off and try to cover it up as new packaging. These companies must think we are stupid. They are selling us less product for more money (Luxiva Powder Foundation). They even have the nerve to claim that the weight on the package was printed wrong. Comparing the new one to the old, it is smaller which means less. All of you big wigs sitting behind a desk making these decisions to line your pockets with money listen up. Your plan is going to backfire because when all of us intelligent women find a product that works just as well at a cheaper price we are going to take our money elsewhere. How will that affect your bottom line? Ladies, remember, these companies can only rip us off if we let them.

MERLE NORMAN COSMETIC STUDIO MERLE NORMAN COSMETIC STUDIO (910) 822-2022 3771 Ramsey St Ste 107 FAYETTEVILLE, NC 28311-7616 July 25th 2011 Krista that works for this bussiness dyed my daughters hair from brown to blond.. Turning her hair orange, yellow and white strips. Not one color in any area. Krista bragged the other co- workers about the wonderful job but allowing my upset daughter leave the bussiness very upset. Changing her $85 for the mess up! When I called them the next morning asking them to correct the problem, they only wanted to high light it which would not have corrected the problem, only cover parts of it. Tyler whom answered the phone would not allow me to speak to DAwn.. I left my phone number and Dawn still has not responded to my complaint. My daughter did go back the next day and they did redye her hair but at the cost of $25, to dye the hair back brown which was the only way to correct the mess Krista had made.I've been to the BBB about this and Dawn still acts like it's OUR fault for her employees mess up!!! I'm very disappointed in the Merle Norman name!! And I will continue to share my story on facebook and other websites that allows you to post your comments about bussiness!! Thanks you for your time!!

Heather, you are so right about that total finish compact ripping us off! I have been going to Merle Norman for 24 years. I got the first one more than a month ago and made the comment, "Oh, new case?! Sales lady said yes, they were going for a new look! Then I didn't think much of it when I ran out, but then when my new compact started showing the bottom way too fast and I realized I was going through this twice as fast, I was very ashamed with Merle Norman for doing this to their customers in this economy. I work for the State of Florida and have not had a raise or any kind, not even cost of living, for six years, and now they are taking out 3 percent of my income to pay my retirement account which was the only small perk we had for not getting raises, and for Merle Norman to do this when so many people are struggling to make ends meet is just wrong! Raise your prices and then let us decide if we want to downgrade to a cheaper brand but don't try and "trick" us; I suppose you do have a percentage of clientele that won't even notice, right????!!!!! Shame on Merle Norman. I will be searching to find a comparable make up else where as I just can't afford this now. Just find one of your old compacts, measure it to the new one, and the only thing I couldn't measure was the height as my old one was empty but I can tell the new is not as deep as the bottom shows by the first week of use. Merle Norman needs to give us back our quantity. I also don't have the time in my busy working schedule with family to go more frequently to the store to get more. Oh and I get the lipstick/lipliner as well and they made the lids bigger to give the appearance of the stick being the same size or larger but must be smaller. This is obvious they are being deceitful and this is just wrong. Thanks for kicking us when we are already down. Loyal customer for 24 plus years and why?????????????????????????

Very poor taste to give less makeup in the new package. I, for one, would have preferred a price increase rather than the company thinking I was too stupid to notice in the fancy new package. I was told by the salesclerk that they were "exactly" the same just a new package! When I protested she then said it might have been a MISPRINT! Really? Oh, then she offered me one of the "old" compacts...just NOT IN MY COLOR! Thanks to those that posted the phone number to customer service...I will be making that call.

I have been wearing Merle Norman makeup since I was in high school and am very pleased with the products. What I am not happy with is that the makeup I purchased for the same price as what I ran out of is not the same amount. The salesperson informed me that the amount in the container was the same but the compact style had changed. This is not true because my old compact was .80 oz. and the new one is .55 oz. So I am getting less product for the same amount of money. If you are going to sell something to someone, you should back up what you say. I am a nurse and I don't give my patients misleading information in order to further my career. Honesty and ethics should be important regardless of what job someone has but obviously people do not think that being ethical and honest is important any more.

I have been a loyal customer to this company for almost 10 years. Their products have always been affordable and superior. BUT surprise! I just went in to buy my usual foundation - Total Finish and guess what? They decided to repackage in a fancier compact and reduce the amount of makeup. They went from .80 oz to .55 oz, but did they reduce the price? hmmmm OF COURSE NOT! I did contact their customer svc dep and they were very nice in expressing that they would pass on the information to their superiors. As a LOYAL CUSTOMER for almost 10 yrs, I would have gladly paid 3,4 or even $5 more per compact with an understanding that the company is being effected by the economy. I can understand that. But to change the packaging and slip in less product??? that seems deceitful. The customer service rep tried passing it off that there "is a demand in the market for a more compact size." (are you joking?) Ugh-uh! Can't fool this customer. Why can't MERLE NORMAN just come out in the open, be honest, bring up the price and stop trying to fool their long term clients. Nobody likes tricks. You can call and VOICE YOUR CONCERN AS WELL.Here's the number ladies! 310-641-3000

As a customer of almost 10 yrs, I am very disappointed to learn that Merle Norman has decided to scale back on the amount of product in it's Total Finish Foundation. After reading other reviews, I am not surprised to learn that this has been a wide spread business decision for them in other products as well. As a LOYAL CLIENT I would have been more than happy to pay a price increase in understanding that the economy has effected the company, but to give me less product for the same price and package it in a "new and improved" clunky ugly compact - NOT SMART. Seems deceitful on the part of this company and I am not happy at all. This is not the way to reward your clients after years of loyalty to your product. ATTN: MERLE NORMAN EXECS...... BAD DECISION. The more honorable way out of your apparent financial issue is an HONEST PRICE INCREASE, not a DECEITFUL PRODUCT DECREASE. If you don't change the way you are treating your customers, I would not be surprised to hear of financial trouble for your company in the not so far off future. I can say that the cust svc rep was very nice as I voiced my concern, but at first she tried to put it off that "the market was demanding a smaller more compact travel size". (You're joking right) She didn't get that wool pulled over these eyes, but anyways, that's what you are training her to say. Nice girl anyways. STRAIGHTEN UP MERLE NORMAN. YOU'RE NOT THE ONLY MAKEUP IN THE WORLD. Toodles from Texas! CALL AND LET THEM KNOW ABOUT IT (310)641-3000

Artclies like these put the consumer in the driver seat—very important.

So excited I found this article as it made tinhgs much quicker!

I have used Merle Norman Cosmetics since I was 14, so lets just say that has been more than forty years of being a loyal customer. I have found the last year or so that when I go to pick up a product, the store in my city is out and it will be a couple of weeks before it comes in. I have left my name and telephone number and most of the time I hear nothing. I have been informed that the reason this is happening, is because the company is repackaging and they are sorry for my inconvenience. Last week when I went in for the third time to get powder, I was informed that if I wanted to be sure to get the item, I would have to pre-pay so they could hold the item for me. I can't believe this is corporate policy to treat customers so badly. Not real sure what I will do, but going back to this store is not an option. It really makes Merle Norman Cosmetics look bad..............

I have been a loyal customer of Merle Norman most of my adult life. I recently purchased the product "Ultra Powder Foundation" and discovered the company had increased the price of this product AND put less in it. I wonder how many other of their products they're putting less in. The old one had .40 oz. and the newly designed packaging has .35 oz. I am very disappointed in the company that they would resort to this method of cheating their customers. The food industry has been doing this to us for a long time, and now Merle Norman has joined them. I also don't like the new packing of several of the products as well as the old.

After seeing an advertisement on TV for a free gift with a two item purchase, I visited our local Merle Norman studio and made my purchase..... with a total over $50.00. When I ask about the free gift I was told that only some stores offer this. My complaint is.......make this known on your TV advertisement that this is only offered is some parts of the USA.

Ive had my hair dyed at one of there stores. When it was done it looked perfect! Black hair dark blue tips. I did not wash my hair when i got home. My hair faded and brown (my real color) Was seen. I called the store and they do not give refunds. They asked i come back in and hair them redo it. I walked out of there without blue tips AGAIN! With brown still showing. $94 wasted because the people they hire can't do hair. I would love my money back. There is not reason my hair has to look terrible because they are incompetent.
