Merle Norman, please recontinue making the larger, (8.o ounce?) container of loose Sheer Face Powder! We loved the pretty container with the gold top and the larger volume of powder. I have always set my pretty container on my counter and I miss that! Plus, the smaller containers are too expensive if I must buy 2 - 3 to get the same volume as the last. Thanks, Dissatisfied Customer

I have read the above complaints, and I get that its not just me that sees the cut in the amount of product that is sold for the total finish. I have also been a customer for 25 years. For those that are not sure of the amount that was cut, I have seen the proof going from one container to the current one. I hate the fact that Merle Norman owners are independent and rely on our business. It wasn't their call, but they are going to suffer because this was done. After my compact is empty, its time to move on.

The new packaging is a rip off. I've been using MN for 15 years now and always loved it. I could make one total finish compact last about six months.....now I've barely gotten three months out of the new version. Coverage isn't as good and the price is still the same. What a terrible way to treat your loyal customers. MN corporate should reconsider...from the looks of this board, they are losing lots of customers due to their change. I'm heading to the mall to find something new this weekend! Good-Bye Merle!

I just purchased my new Total Finish compact makeup over Christmas week and very dissatisfied with the amount taken away from .80 oz to .55 oz. I have been a loyal customer for over 25 years along with all my friends I sold on the product. Clinique will have mine & my friends business from now on. you should be ashame to cheat your loyal customers. Susan Carden

Staff needs to be aware of what their state law is regarding expiration date of gift certificates. Does the corporate office not provide this information to stores? If so the information is being ignored.

Have used Merle Norman for 35 years. Do not like the new packaging. I use Total Finish (and by the way have not been able to get Alabaster Beige for weeks). The old compact was flatter and fit in purses better, the makeup was easier to use. Since there is niw less makeup, the compact could be smaller. Now the compact looks the same as the blush, for example, which is a problem when in a hurry. Wish you would reconsider....

What a sad, sad change in Merle Norman product. Did you think we wouldn't notice? Now we have to pay double for the same product we purchased 6 to 8 months ago. Really, that's how you treat loyal customers! Total Finish Foundation from Merle Normans has reduced the product in June 2011 22g, then reduced in October 2011 to 16g, and now December 2011 14g. That is over 1/2 a reduction in product. It's a shame you never asked your loyal customers. I never thought in my 25 years of being a customer Merle Normans you would ever do this, ever! What a shame, I would have been happy to pay more but not double. As a buyer, I did found the same product with more g's.

I have used Merle Normam for >20 years. With their new designs and storefront they never have the product or color I use. The store owner orders it nit the company fails to deliver especially the total finish compact makeup in medium deep neutral. The past 2-3 months I have gone in to buy anprodhcy that I use, it has been ordered but not received. Guess because of corporations not listening to their customers I will have to find another product such as Mary Kay or Clinique. Sadly, the store and franchise owners suffer because of corporations not taking notice of customers requests.

I have been using Merle Norman Total Finish for years. When I went to purchase some I was shocked to see the packaging it was actually ugly and see how much was in the compact it was almost half the size of the .85. I use to use Elizabeth Arden and when they changed and cut their makeup size in half I said bye and went to Merle Norman. So I know on business point times has changed so it's time for me to change also. So long Merle Norman they are always is someone else out there that has just as good as product as you do and cheaper. You just gave me a reason to go out and look for it.

So glad to see others feel the same as I do regarding the changes!!! I have been a LOYAL customer for fifteen years and I am so darn IRRITATED AND UPSET over the changes made to TOTAL FINISH! This was my only "go-to" product that I simply had to have; other cosmetics came and went from my life but not my Total Finish! And to get the run-around by the store owners and employees about it being the same - that's hogwash! The product does not cover as it once did-period, end of story. And to be told "customers wanted smaller packaging" = no one asked me. The new packaging SUCKS! It actually takes up more room in my makeup bag and/or purse and the style makes it hard to use the foundation. Not to mention - LESS PRODUCT yet the same price! It's all quite insulting really and I, too, am on the prowl for a comparable product. Clinique, MAC or Este Lauder here I come! Sad indeed, Merle Norman!! You just lost another customer because of a stupid corporate decision.

I just started using Merle Norman as of my 21st Birthday. I had gone in there to get my make up done for my Birthday ! The sweet girl that did my makeup did an awesome job! She made me feel so beautiful. She even taught me a couple triCks that I never thought possible. She suggested that I buy the Total Finish Foundation and the Ultra Powder. Tried it and I loved it. It made my skin look so flawless and I got so many compliments that night. The lady at Merle Norman ( I think her name was Cheyanne) even offered to give me a free make over to show me even more tips on how to do my makeup. I'm not a girly girl but I would like to wear makeup more often. Needless to say, I had a great experience and can't wait to go back.

I am extremely disappointed with the new change in the Merle Norman Ultra Powder Foundation Compact. When I went to buy it I was shocked at how small it was when she handed it to me. I said, "Why did they change the size" and she said "Because it's what the customers said they wanted." ??? What??? I have been buying this product for 30 years with NO PROBLEM and NO COMPLAINTS about the size of the compact. I bought the new size compact with mixed feelings. When I used it for the first time, I hated it because it is so small it is not comfortable to try and hold it in my hands while trying to get the powder out. If the company REALLY wants to see what the customer wants, they should send us a questionnaire about the products. Any Merle Norman store I have ever purchased product at has my info in their computer. How hard could that have been to notify us about our thoughts? But, that would have cost them a bit of money, and they really aren't concerned about what WE want--they are concerned about their bottom line. It was cheaper for them to make the size change--and use their own story about it being the "customer's request." I feel like they think I am a fool. I would have rather paid more to continue to buy the product I have always purchased. I am looking for another product because: 1) I don't like being fooled and 2) The product isn't easy to use because of the smaller sized compact.

Make no mistake I give Merle Norman Total Finish 5 STARS ALL DAY LONG! But what the company has done to the product is craziness. Like many people I see here I have used this product well over 20 years and noticed the new packaging and product immediately and was extremely disappointed. I am searching for an alternative but haven't found anything yet... what a terrible business move on the company's part. To reduce the product and package then sell it for the same price is absurd. I understand times are tough for everyone in retail, but I feel personally taken advantage of with this move. I do so hope that the company will hear our cry and consider customer loyalty worht making a change back to what we were so used to and loved!

I am no longer happy with the total finish makeup. I have been using this product since the late 70's. I am so unhappy with what the company has done with the make up. I have purchaced the makeup from different salons over many years. Recently I have gone to them to complain and they have all told me there are a lot of complaints and to call the company. I will tomorrow. I went to each beauty shop looking for the old compact. I need your company to go back to the orginial product. This new product is a much lighter coverage and less makeup for the same price. You must think your customers are idots! It is not the same makeup, no comparison. It is a much thinner base. I look at the end of the day like I have on no makeup, you can touch your face and it feels like nothing is there. Even the sponge is not the same. The new makeup does not apply the same. You are getting cheeper makeup the for the same price. I feel like it compares right now to a cover girl make up,cheep, with no coverage. I need the original total finsh back for sale, the thin compact in the .80oz. or no more purchace. I have bought this makeup for 35 years and would have continued. Please bring it back, what is the problem ???? Thanks

I recently went into a Merle Norman and asked for Total Finish. I said oh this is a new look and then seen the amount of product is drastically different! The salesperson informed me that the amount in the container was the same but the compact style had changed. This is not true because my old compact was .80 oz. and the new one is .55 oz. So; I am getting less product for the same amount of money. YEA RIGHT!!! If you are going to sell something to someone, you should back up what you say. I have took the time to read other reviews, I am not surprised to learn that this has been a wide spread business decision for them in other products as well. The "ECONOMY" has affected everyone. I am one of many that has lost my job. Cutting corners at this point is a fact. "YES" i could have went to the drug store & bought something else, but as a "LOYAL CUSTOMER" i scraped up the money to buy "My TOTAL FINISH" just to find less in there. Then to be told that its same price and package but, in a "new and improved" clunky ugly compact - Hey Merle Norman WAKE UP!!! Seems deceitful on the part of this company and I am not happy at all. This is by far the worst way to treat your customers after years of loyalty to your products. HEY CORPORATE EXECS DO YOU THINK THAT THE PLACE YOU WORK FOR TODAY WOULD STILL BE AROUND IF YOU WOULD HAVE DID THAT YEARS AGO WHEN YOU WAS BUILDING A FOUNDATION OF HELPING PEOPLE? My answer is simple: NO!!!! Remember marketing is still built on the "Old Fashioned" of word of mouth! Unhappiness comes to our brains alot faster than happy... Please take the time to re-adjust this huge mistake. Everyone lets have a lock-down! Make it right or i'm going elsewhere too. Voice your opinion too!!! CALL AND LET THEM KNOW ABOUT IT (310)641-3000

Please, please read the critics' reviews of Merle Norman products, particularly the reviews written by Paula Begoun. Many of your products are still being packaged in jars, allowing the products to degrade quickly when exposed to air and light. Not to mention hygiene issues of dipping fingers in jar. Since many of your products are currently being repackaged, why not get rid of jars altogether? For example, Luxiva preventage cream and Luxiva night repair cream would have been rated a Paula's pick if not packaged in jars. Why should we pay such high prices for a cream that will lose it's effectiveness in a short amount of time when in jars? Please, please read the professional reviews!!!!

I worked for a Merle Norman store in the Toronto area (Ont., Canada) many years ago in the 1980's. It was happening then also, stock problems! One time we had such little stock, the store was so bare, it looked like we were closing up! Which it did eventually. The Owner I worked for had 5 stores, and had to bring in new services such as colour coding and ear piercing to have different things to generate sales! I was sad when we closed, I loved that job but stock problems can ruin a business. I now sell Avon and suggest you try that! Lindee in Canada.

I have been using your Total Finish Makeup for many years. I am so disappointed with your misleading new packaging and smaller quantity. You will be losing a lot of customers over this because the competition is too stiff and your product is priced too high for the small quanitity you now offer. One very important thing is customer service and when you mislead your customers the word spreads quickly. You should reconsider your quantity and your packaging issue. My sister and I have been faithful customers for 30 plus years. Your clerks seems unconcerned about the issue and only try to sell you another product so that you can get a free gift. They should be listening to customers because the visit they make today will probably be the last.

the new packaging I have been told is exactly the same as before. This could not possibly be true. The same product I have been using for many years burns now, one smells differently and some of the products you just don't have any more which is understandable, but to charge more for the smaller wrinkle smoother than was in it before and it smells different. I am not using anything except the luxiva preventage firming eye creme and I am so upset that I may not use it after I finish what I have.

I have been a loyal Merle Norman customer for 15 years, and as of late feel I have to voice my deep disappoinment with the company. It is virtually impossible to buy anything! I am currently out of 3 of the Merle Norman products I use daily. I have been trying to secure one of those items for over a month. I have stopped in at 3 different stores in my area and keep being told the same thing. "It has to do with the repackaging"!!! "It is on back order due to the repackaging of our products"! How long does this take? This is the same excuse I have heard for the last several months when items are out of stock at the stores! These poor franchises. How are they suppose to stay in business? For a reputable company like Merle Norman I find they are lacking greatly in the area of customer satisfaction. I have gone and purchased another brand to replace the products I have not been able to secure from Merle Norman. I will continue to switch over to the new brand because I know they will be there for purchase when I need them. Sorry Merle Norman!
