I have had numerous bad experiences over the years with meineke, but you don't get to decide where your car breaks down. so, i put aside my feelings and general fears about meineke when my car took a turn for the worse on june 25th, 2011.. the very last stop was to the meineke that was pretty much our last option and last car repair shop on that road. i pulled in front of a bay window and left my dad with the car. i went to the front desk, where i waited 10minutes to even be greeted. i asked if they had time for an oil change, which my car desparately needed and may be playing into the problems with my car. he said yes, even though they were scheduled to close in 30min. he informed me that they rarely get out by the time they close, that's just when they are able to lock their doors. they are there up to three hours past closing just to get work done. (which all sounded great at the time....) so they pulled my car in for an oil change. my father was still with my car, but when they pulled it in, he stood by the garage doors for a few minutes and then came into the waiting lobby with me. for whatever reason, i had this overwhelming urge to go grab the money i had put in my armrest, but it had already been raised up and i felt almost bad for not trusting that the people doing work on my car, who had no need to go into the armrest in my car, would not do so anyway and take my money. so, while they were changing the oil, my dad and i were dicussing with the "manager" Paul what issues i had been having prior to my visit that day that were causing me concern and what we had done to try to remedy. he informend me that his me would need $45 for 30min diagnostic to tell what the problem was. they came back and told me a few minutes later that the 2 cylinder was dead and i needed a whole new engine overhaul, which they would be happy to do. my father was paying, so he gave the final go-ahead to diagnois. i felt ripped off that they basically told me the same thing i walked in there telling them, that i had replaced the #2 plug 2x already and nothing else was working. before they lowered the car, i mentioned to "mgr Paul" that my rear tire was low, and even though i had just filled it with air, could they possibly top the air off before i had to drive 20miles home. they offered to pull the nail they found from the tire and patch as a courtesy. when i left, it was around 620p. on my way home, i was a few miles from my house and pulled into a gas station to fill up. when i went into my arm console, there was only a few $1 bills, not the $20 change i had left in there. no one had been in my car since i left the shop. so i called the number on the card "paul" had given me. the time was 7:35p on June, 25, 2011. I spoke in detail that i was disappointed with the money being stolen and asked what he was going to do to make it right. i felt like i had to pull it out of him, but we had discussed him reimburing me if i came back monday, he would be there all night.Monday I went to work all day and was finally able to make it up to the meineke location by around 7p, past their closing time posted of 6p, but yet again, we had discussed prior to this that they stay open late all the time and he was expecting me. When I pulled up in front of the front door, all the employees and a few other people who were not customers were visibly drinking in the waiting lobby, behind the register and in the front window. I proceeded to exit my car and walk up to the door. "Paul" met me at the door, he looked surprised, and so I felt like I needed to refresh his memory as to who I was and why I was there. I said my name and started to explain, but he was already nodding his head and told me he knew who I was and why I had come. He started to reach in his pocket, I assume to pay me the money, but I continued to state that I had another issue come up since we had last spoken on the phone. My boyfriend took my tire out of the car and took it up to "Paul". He was shocked how flat it was; he stated that "Oh, well maybe we didn't fix it. Maybe we just forgot." And he noticed within 60 seconds of examining the tire that there were 2 more nails in the tire that had been missed. He then asked if we had 5minutes and took the tire from my boyfriend. He told us to pull up to the bay window. I don't know how comfortable i was with them operating machinery after i had just witnessed them drinking, but needed my tire fixed badly, so agreed. they were all congregating around my car, talking loudly. i felt they may have been drinking longer than i had previously thought and started to get uncomfortable. they had removed the spare tire at this point and one guy was still pulling the nails and repairing the tire. my boyfriend, after waiting quietly and patiently, then went up to "paul" to thank him for repairing the tire and to speak more in-depth about the meineke standards and the theft. he told "paul" that i had told him of the theft, and what paul and i had discussed about being reimbursed in order to "make things right", as he kept saying. paul stated a few times to my boyfriend that it was indeed unfortunate, but that was all. we should be "even" because he was repairing my tire. “paul” did not know prior to my showing up Monday, june 27th with my tire in-hand, that the repair job they did on Saturday did not work, so the “making it right” he had discussed was not fixing my tire, but the money. So my boyfriend proceeded to go into detail about the fact that we did not request this service, it was initially a courtesy, and as far as we are concerned, still a courtesy. my boyfriend, decided to bring up the fact that they had been drinking prior and during the services and proceeded to take pictures of the beers littered throughout the lobby. "paul" followed my boyfriend and told him he needed to leave. my boyfriend continued to take pictures and proceeded outside to take more pictures. there was also an employee recoring video with his phone at the same time. the guy who had been fixing the tire, had disappeared and whe he came out from somewhere in the back of the shop, he had a HUGE neon orange mallet. my boyfriend asked him what he was going to do with that? he did not respond, but started to swing threateningly and stood behind "paul". "paul" then seemed to get the confidence boost he needed and was fed up with my boyfriend taking incriminating photos and shoved him. he threatened to call the police to scare us into leaving, however, he never picked up the phone. my boyfriend asked him to call the police so we could file a report. The employee with the large mallet had his cell phone and was already calling in regards to a customer disturbance. He told the police on the phone that we would not leave, and we responded that we would like the police to come in order to file our complaint. they still had my spare tire off at this point, so they quickly tightened the lug nuts and threw my tire at me. i then proceeded to remove my car and myself off company property to the connecting parking lot. We waited for the police off company property for the police. Three officers showed up and took our statements. in order to avoid everyone involved getting tickets and summons, we chose to take the police officers' advice and contact corporate, better business bureau and go through the proper channels. they told us that this type of theft happens frequently because most shops know it is hard to prove who stole what with that many employees having access to your vehicle. They advised us to pursue both civil and criminal matters. I am curious how meineke feels as this is a HUGE representation of your company and its standards. What steps will you take to making this right....?!!?

MEINEKE SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For the rest of my life; I will let people know how the crappy work was done to my vehicle and they refused to do it again after I had already charged me close to $900, then in order to complain, the coroparte offices wanted to charge me to do so..... I will be contacting the media about this if it is not fixed within the next 5 business days.... I had to buy a new car after the work was done to my vehicle because when the work was complete, my car was worse off then when I dropped it off! But until I could afford a new car, I had to beg for rides and use public transit to get to and from because I could not afford another car payment on top of the one I already had

They have very poor service up here in Mooresville NC.... The head tech is an alcoholic that starts drinking while on the job... He told me so much bs about my truck so I took it to another shop and he laughed when he saw it and said there is nothing to worry about.... When you can smell alcohol on the head techs breath there is something wrong... I used them one time and will never go back to them . Worst service ever!!!!!

I have had a problem with the Meineke in Pleasentville! I went in because my car steering wheel was very stiff! They said that the steeirng wheel pump was broken so they replaced it at my cost of $250! I left out with another problem. Meineke broke my power steering pully and automotive belt. Now I want see whose head do I have to go over because they did not do anything but cause me more problems and I am not going down without a fight. If anyone has any info on how to take Meineke down answer this please!

I visited the Meineke location listed above on April 8 2011 in need of a new muffler. I was quoted a price and the work was completed. This work totalled $135.00. At the time of the repair there was no mention of anything that needed attention in addition to the muffler. 11 days later, April; 19 2011 I noticed a loud noise coming from my exhaust, 2 days, after that April 21 2011 my "Check Engine" illuminated. On April 23rd 2011 I took my car to my regular mechanic, Dekalb Tire 801 S. Atlanta St Roswell, GA 30075, to see what the problem was. When he put my car on a lift, he pointed out an 8+ inch long crack in the pipe connecting the muffler to the resonator pipe. This was a surprise to me. There was also fresh patching material surrounding the crack. It was stated to me that the Meineke "technician" who replaced my muffler patched the exhaust pipe as well. This was able to be determined because the material was fresh. I was told that the back pressure caused by this situation is what caused my oxygen sensor to fail, and my "check engine" light to illuminate. I tried to return to the Meineke location, but they had closed early "for Easter". I then took my car to a competitor, Midas in Sandy Springs, I was told that the muffler that was on the car had to be replaced in order to replace the cracked pipe. I therefore had to purchase a new muffler in order to be in compliance with state emmissions standrads. In addition to the new muffler, I needed to pay $114 for a new oxygen sensor, which I have been told failed due to the previous faulty repair, in order to be in compliance with state emmission standards. On Monday, April 25th 2011 I returned to the Meineke location in question and spoke with the owner/franchisee. He informed me that he would not be refunding my money. I attempted to contact Meineke's customer service department and the issue has not been resolved. The total harm done to the consumer in this matter is: $135.00 +$114.00 $249

I took my car to a Meineke Car Car Center in Norcross Ga to get an engine diagnostics. I purchased the car at an auto auction and informed the sales associate that I needed to know if the motor was good or not, if so I'll fix any problems, and if now I'll either go somewhere and get it replaced or rebuilt. They looked at my vehicle and told me that it only needed a tune up and o2 sensor which would run me about $450. I gave the ok to do the work and the next day when I got there to pick it up AFTER I paid for it, he then informs me that the car has a bad head gasket which I MIGHT want to replace. He told me that parts and labor would be $950 so I gave the go ahead even though I dont understand why you would do a tune up on a car that needs a new head gasket without informing me first. They took the heads off the car and sent it to the shop only to find out that according to themm both heads are damaged and need to be replaced (another $450) once again I give them the go ahead. It took them a week to complete the job and when I fininally went to pick up my car there was a knocking noise coming from the engine. The guy TRIED to tell me that this was normal in gm cars but i'm no idiot....knocking means bad pistons and the end result is the motor throwing a rod and breaking down. I attempted to drive the car home, made it less than 1 1/2 miles and it broke down. When I finally got it back started the car was running worse than when I initially brought it in. Ive made repeated attempts to contact corporate with no returns calls at all.... Most likely I'll be contacting my attorney.

This is in reference to Meineke in San Antonio on Bandera Road... make a long story short...Josue (supposebly the manager of that place) and his so called mechanic failed to tightly screw the right ball joint tightly that another mechanic was able to unscrew it with his hand making any effort at all... If this is the kind of mechanics we have for meineke I tell YOU folks don't even go there. I was so freaking upset just knowing that my daughter who drove this car could have been kill. I will never trust another meineke store. Folks if you care for your family I want to tell you donot, donot go there because it only spells DANGER....My rating is actually zero... because when you put families in harms way there is no rating status for you....

Love your family...Stay away....

I had a brake inspection performed at the Meineke here in Carson City, NV and after paying $300 and a 3 hour wait - I walked out with new pads, resurfaced rotors and a confident feeling things were all good and the services were done correctly, or so I thought. After driving my truck a few miles, I noticed my truck doing something that its never done before by pulling hard to the right after applying the brakes and the pads squealed more than they did before I took it to Meineke. At first I figured it was a breaking in period and figured it would correct itself. Unfortunately, 6 days passed and it was still pulling and squealing. I called back to Meineke, told them my problem and sadly the only day available to me was Saturday to get this resolved. The manager on duty or whoever I spoke with told me he was too busy on Saturdays and I would have to wait until the following Saturday (2 weeks later) to bring it back. I told him my safety, along with my families safety was being jeopardized by having to wait so long with a faulty brake system due to their services. Reluctantly, This employee finally agreed that I could bring it by and drop it off for another inspection. I dropped the truck off at 8:30 am on Saturday - to all empty bays I might add and about an hour later I got a phone call from Meineke. This employee explained to me my right front caliper was now sticking and going bad causing the problem I am having... I relayed to him that when I brought the truck in the first time, it was not doing this and during the first inspection the techs stated my calipers and clips were all fine. His response, "These things sometimes just happen." I told him I could not pay him to fix whatever they did to my truck and to put it back together so I could pick it up. When I arrived, this guy handed me my keys, didn't say a word to me and then he walked out to the shop floor. Guess this is the customer service Meineke prides itself on - just sad! So here is my problem and where I am at right now. I did not have issues other than the tell tale signs my pads needing to be replaced before I went to Meineke. After services were performed, my truck is more worse off NOW, then before I took it there. Truck pulls to the right, brakes squell and I have to push the brake pedal to the floor to stop. And now I am told by Meineke I have to spend ANOTHER $300 to have my front calipers replaced when I was told the first time around all was good. I just don't get it... After I get the brake service, my caliper has now "mysteriously" gone bad and I need to fork out more cash to them to the tune of $300 to fix it? This Meineke employee insisted their brake services do not require removing the caliper, therefore the caliper was untouched from their end when the brake-pads are replaced. News Flash... The calipers hold the pads and you do have to pull the caliper off the rotor to remove the pads! Basically this guy looked me in the eye and straight out LIED, and was attempting to cover-up / dissolve any responsibility to this ordeal. This all sounds like a shady operation and contradicts the first inspection findings. Sadly, I have now lost all faith and trust in the services Meineke performs. I am very dissatisfied, feel seriously taken advantage of and I cannot afford ANOTHER $300 to correct this issue that I didn't have prior to taking my truck to Meineke. Its a shame Meineke practices business in this manner... Truly a shame! I will be taking my truck to another brake service center to confirm my pads were in fact replaced and my rotors were resurfaced for one. And two, figure out why my caliper suddenly and mysteriously needs to be replaced! Place: Meineke on 3744 Highway 50 E Carson City, NV 89706 Phone Number: (775) 882-7800 Advice: STAY THE HECK AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!

Meniki sucks hard cock. I noticed they have one star and nothing else. I took my 66 mustang there because it was running hot. I told them it might need a new water pump. MIGHT. They told me it might need a new thermostat. I got an oil change as well. The guy calls me the same day and charged me 375 dollars. They replaced the thermostat and the water pump. I drove my car off the lot and guess what my car is doing? That's right, started over heating. I'm typing this message from my phone, in my car while I'm stranded. I asked them to fix the over heating problem not replace parts that don't need replacing and charge me out the ass for labor. I might as well have walked in there and handed them 375 dollars and walked out. Hey meineke headquarters are you guys going to do something about this because it won't be nothing for me to call channel 3 news to do a story on this and all the other complaints.

A representative from Meineke Car Care Center located 7495 Douglas Blvd., Douglasville, GA came into my place of employment and sold me a Car Care Card for $29.95. The card represented 24 services at a reduced price. I have redeemed three of the 24. When I went to this Meineke Center today for an oil change, I was told there was a new owner and he did not honor the card. I will not accept this and ask that the corporate office of Meineke intervene on my behalf. I am only asking that I get what I paid for. Thank you.

Why I will never use Meineke again!!! Yesterday I took my mother’s car for a simple oil change. I went to a local Meineke shop. After a quick oil change the mechanic came to me in the waiting room and asked me why the key would not work in the ignition switch. I went to the car, he handed me the key and said try it yourself. Sure enough the key would not go in. Strange but a few minutes earlier when I handed him the key it was working just fine. I had a sense that the steering column had been loosened which would put it out of alignment. I suspect that the second mechanic which had gone over to the car for no clear reason had loosened the steering column while the first mechanic changed the oil. I handed him the key and just walked away to go outside and call my mother to tell her of the problem. While talking to her the mechanic called me back into the shop and said that he was able to “jiggle” the key and get it started. I know a little about the jiggle the key trick and that was impossible since the key would not even go into the ignition switch. When I got back into the car and tried it, it was very clear to me that the steering column was again tightened as it was when I arrived at the shop. I guess that they expected me to cry and beg them to please help me and I would give them some money for helping me out of this jam. Yes, it is true I was born at night, but it was not LAST NIGHT. If this is the type of people that Meineke employees then I will never use Meineke again!!!

My car was constantly overheating on me. The first time I took it to meineke, they found no leak so they just add more antifreeze. Two months later I overheat again, this time they said I need a radiator. This they said would stop the overheating. I paid them for a new radiator. A month and a half later, my jeep overheat again, now they say it has leaking hoses that needs to be fixed and will cost an additional $450.00 to fix. This is after I paid them $1200.00 in February to fixed the Jeep. I am getting taken for an expensive ride with this Meineke on Boston Post Road, Bronx, NY. Will never go back.

I am reading all of these meineke cases and I am convinced that what happened to me years ago in the state of Ct. will now be reported to the Better Business Bureau and the local and state Civil Rights Authorities. Meineke has now fallen to the lowest levels of operation. They can no longer continue in this manner. I hope that each and everyone of you who have experienced shoddy, disrepectful and unconscionable service, will report their experiences to the BBB and all of the other organizations that support violations of our rights. Thank you

Meineke here in Indianapolis, Indiana had my car for two weeks. i took it in because it would not start and was not getting gas(thought it was my feul pump) they said it was a distributor and crank sensor. after replacing both they told me i needed a feul pump. while in the process of putiing on the feul pump they messed up my gas line. i picked my car up to being to drive and it would not pick up speed until it got to 30mph. the next day i went to start my car it would not start.i checked under my hood and one of the wires to the spark plug was out and just lying there. they towed my car in the next day and had it for a whole week when i picked it up it was backfiring and it still didnt pick up speed until it reaced 30mph. the next day my car died on me and is now sitting in my drive way. i called to speak with the manager as well as emailed the owner now response and everytime i call the put me off on someone else. i am looking into taking them to court if they dont fix my car. they made it worse than what it was and now i dont have a car to get to and from work. i am a single mother with three kids and am also a full time student as well. i need my car for work and to transport my kids. if they are not willing to fix then i am willing to sue for the amount it cost to fix my car back like it was. they are not communicating with me at all and i am very dissatisfied with the sevices i have recieved from meineke on Pendelton pike here in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Very upsetting visit to the Snellville GA Store #1012. False advertising the bill was over the published amount. There was no mention of a Shop Supplies charge, when I complained, THE EMPLOYEE LOCKED THE COMPANY OFFICE DOOR, AND WOULD NOT LET ME OUT. I called POLICE...I can pursue this legally for False Imprisonment. I want to hear from the Meineke home office. 770-931-2601
