I have shopped at Meijer since they came to Lexington 15 years ago. Not really by choice. I have poor quality WalMart and expensive Kroger. So by default I shop there. Monday evening after work I go in and purchase a few items. I usually scan my own but with a broken foot I thought it easier to go through one of two lanes open. The one who checked me out also works at what it called "the service Desk" but when she is there it is not. She was speeding through my order becuase they record their speed of scanning. she charged me for four red peppers instead of three. I go to the service desk and the girl trades places with her. The original girl proceeded to tell the girl who took over for her to log out becuse she scans to slow. Hello you are waiting on a customer you rang up wrong to begin with. It takes her 17 minutes to give me my money back on my debit card. I look at my bank account today and she has CHARGED ME, not credited me. So I have now paid $6.40 for 3 red peppers that should have been $3.00. Where do they get these idiots!!!!!

I don't think that some of the behavior that goes on there is right. Two of your #126 store deli employees are crack addicts and no one has done anything about it. One of said employees is an assistant manager and is lovers with the other co worker. Their names are Mindy Saap and Jen Whisler. Mindy had an affair with my husband and has been harrassing him still. You have lost much business due to these individuals. Myself and all my closest confidants refuse to shop there because of the class of people that you choose to hire. It really is sad and deplorable behavior. Are these really the sort of people that you want representing Meijer?

I was recently in the Rochester Hills MI store located on Auburn Hill rd ..Had a very unpleasant visit..I grab a cart and i start walking to the grocery side of the store mean while im starting to notice a bunch of water on the floor "it was raining very very hard out side and the streets were flooding" anyways so i seen young women in civilian clothes and a young man in red meijer uniform so i called out "Hey whats going on" and the women looked at me and yelled to me and my other spouse "YOU GUYS NEED TO GET OUT OF HERE" The team member and I just standing there looking at her while she walks away kind of shocked how she treated me just after asking question, all i wanted to know if i could still shop..So the young man in uniform came up to me on how the store on the deli and produce is shut down due to flooding very nice. I asked him who that lady was he looked at me kind of didnt want to answer that question but then he told me that was security for meijer store..Now i understand how fusterating it can be for flooding store but i am customer and regardless if it was security you do not YELL at customer and say "YOU GUYS NEED TO GET OUT OF HERE" it can of been handled in moderate voice ,but no she yelled at me and my spouse and she then stormed off on phone or walkie i couldnt tell what device she was using ..anyways very unactable..by the way this happened around 530pm 6pm on 8/10/2012..

Unbelievelable, i spent over an hour at this store shopping as ive lived over 3 years and shop on a weekly bases, i get to check out and was held up for an ungodly amount Of time and never was able to complete My purchase, once home i called the service desk whiich was a complete waste, i was told the surveliance tape would be reviewed and upon calling back was told i was the one who insulted a customer and and started an arguement with a customer and walked out. i was told that she had three witnesses and a tape to this fact..unbelievable. Are you for real.and .200 a week for three years and thats the best you can come up with. Thats why we say yes to self check out and no to to nonskilled non workers Of meijers.

MY WFE AND I FIND THE NEWLY REMODELED MEIJR STORE IN OKEMOS TO BE USER FRIENDLY THEREBY MAK IING. SHOPPING A PLEASURE. A DRAMATIC LLEVEL OF IMPROVED SERVICE WOULD OCCUR IF YOU WOULD ASSIGN CERTAIN STAFF THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF AIDING CUSTOMERS TO FIND AN ITEM OR GET AN ITEM HIGH ATOP A CHELF. I SUGGEST THESE SPECIAL EMPLOYEES WEAR DISTINCTIVE APPAREL; AND THAT THEY GET OUT AND AMONG THE CUSTOMERS SO AS TO MAKE MAXIMUM IMPACT. THANK YOU CHARLES AND NANCY WING

I do all my grocery shopping regularly at Meijer as I am in your store at 12 & Ryan at least twice a week and purchase my gas there as well. I find your employees to be very helpful and courteous. Today I spent $61+ and was disappointed to see that in order to get the 5% offered this date and tomorrow, one had to get "coupon" from a computer. What makes you think everyone has a computer and WHY don't you offer this savings to ALL who enter your store? When I came home I pulled up the mPerks site and they request a mobil phone # as a password; I don't have one! Don't want one! Live my life very well without one! Why do you make things so difficult for someone who is as faithful a customer as I am? Think about it...would you not increase your business if you offer your 5% to ALL and take away the caveat of computer coupons? Second: Suggestion - PLEASE give thick floor pads to your greeters to stand on! These dedicated employees are kind, cheerful, and always have a smile...make their job a little easier by allowing them to stand on a comfortable pad! Their health will be better and your customers will notice your kindness! You might even create a kiask that they could sit at and hand out special Meijer coupon savings; applications for employment; and/or applications for your MasterCard! I bet you would see an increase in business; I know I have been asked by others about my 20% savings coupon that I get every month...yes, reader of this Meijer complaint/suggestion - I use my card that much! Thanks for the Savings each month...a faithful customer - June C. #4048

Meijers...hmmmmm! Where to start? At first working for the brand new roasting and packaging plant was a dream opportunity. And was great to start out! But then things changed, bosses played favorites, they demand optimal work for minimal pay. I personally wouldn't eat anything that came out of that plant. For one thing their Action PAC machine is never cleaned properly, they cycle through employees so fast nobody is well enough trained to do the job, and every quality worker is forced out so the new supervisor can get all her favorite employees family and friends in. This plant is a joke! Luckily they did a great job of fooling hank, and Doug Meijer that this facility is top notch. When they had employees doing last minute cleanups,(that are never done regularly) just to make corporate think everythings jim dandy! Even the plant manager cusses employees regularly. I do hope the Meijer brothers do something to fix the poor management that gives their family a bad name everyday.

I had a slip and fall at the Meijers store in Muskegon, Mi. on Henry St. I have never had a slip and fall incident and the way I was trested and the whole matter was trested is was unexceptable! first of all, the store had a floor washer janitor cleaning the floors at a busy time of the day around 4:30 Pm right at the check out counters where all the people were checking out items. Next the floor as far as I could see was not a spill but maybe a scuff mark? The janitor machine was not working right because as I found out left water all over the floors where he cleaned and took the machine. I left the checkout counter and I fell from the water left on the floor with no cone or any other way of knowing it was a wet floor! I was down before I knew what had happened on my knees. I had a very bruised knee and it was bleeding1 No one came to help me or to see if I was Ok. A young checkout girl put out a cone immeditely after I had already fell and called whoever it was to come and take a report if you want to call it that. She never came over to see if I was ok or offer any assitance. She just stood at her place looking at me. My husband helped me up and waitied for whom ever it was to come down and take the report. Then a young lady dressed in jeans and very casual came up and said I work for the store. She did not introduce herself or have any way of knowing who she was until she started asking me what had happened? I provided the info and suggested that thye do not clen the floors when it is day time and very busy. She just said, do you want a ice pack? She did not even say sorry for what had happened in the store or no offer of seeing a doctor or get checked out was offered. I told her no cones were up and no one had anyway of knowing that floor was wet until it was too late. I was given a call a week later by someone from Meijers headquarters I assume, and told to call someone called Rubin if I had questions or whatever. I tried several times to contact this person with no results. I left messages for him to contact me with no results. So I am just wondering how many people get treated like they have done something wrong when it is the stores fault in the first place that you fell? I bet if I was to take legal action they would contact me and offer a apology. It is so easy for the employees to sit out a cone when there is water any place to be found around a store but I am noticing many store make you feel like you have done something wrong when you ask them why no cone was out? I am tired of trying to contact the unknown person I was told to contact with any questions and I am going to write to the corporate office with my complaint. I just had to warn anyone going to Meijers to look out for water and do not expect to be treated like you should if you fall. They make you feel like you did something wrong.

we found GLASS in our salad :(

I recently visited a meijer store located in Brighton, Michigan. Upon arrival I was glared at by the cashiers for entering the store around one thirty in the morning, and immediately felt uncomfortable. Seeing as how a friend whom lives out of state was in town I decided to purchase a twelve pack of Newcastle for celebration. Approaching the check out line I was greeted by a slow cross eyed woman whom asked for my state identification. I quickly retrieved the identification card card and politely handed it to her. She glanced at it for no more than 2 seconds before telling me she could not sell it to me because I smelled like alchohal. I had recently brushed my teeth and flushed with crest fluoride, I tried to explain this to her but she promptly told me to leave the store before informing the authorities. I will never shop at another meijers store and I will be informing all of my family, and friends, of her rudeness and lack of understanding.

All I have to say is this company must only hire idiots!!! I live behind a Meijer's store and i have a 15 year old autistic son.I let my son sit on the back porch like i have many times before to play with his action figures. I would check on him from time to time while i am tending to the other children and cooking. My son comes in saying that he wants another action figure from his room so im like go get it he runs up stairs and runs outside. A few minutes past and my kid comes in the house swinging a bag of toys! I said how did u get that he says i bought it at the store with your card! He used my credit card and charged 100 in toys on it. Now my kid is autistic and can't hardly hold a conversation and would need assistance doing it. I called the store mad because how the heck could a cashier let this happen did they have enough common sense to know that something was wrong here. why didn't they card my kid! why didn't they hold him and contact me! why would they let a autistic kid spend 100 in toys and not question it! I called and complained and the store manager had the nerve to say well were not allowed to card people anymore and people give their kids credit cards all the time. WOW!!!!

meijer is continually moving merchandise where the customer is being driven crazy trying to find what you Came for. talking to the manager of the store is a big waste of time, . he could care less about your complaint. he is too busy acting important, and spending time In th deli depRtment eating and getting fatter and fatter. we had a goog manager about two years ago, but Meijer replaced him with this yokel. what a shame

why isn't the weekly ad showing up this morning on the meijer web page DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. some of us don't get ad in our weekly mail, because the don't expand the zip code to lisle/naperville. I can go shopping at 3 meijers stores , but no ad

After reading these stories I was thinking of working at Meijer's but now I just don't know?. What's the starting pay at this company?. Are their any full time jobs there EVER?. Also do you have to belong to the Union to work at Meijer's and why?.

If I could give negitive10 stars I would its bad enough when my girl worked at the Davison MI store she was bullied now 8 months after she stoped working there we go there as customers and she has to put up with a manager (Linda) calling her a bitch a store director(sue barent) refusing to help find an item because as she put it "I don't know where that's at if I did I wouldn't help you because I don't like you" on top of that the greater (Ruth Ann) and some other employees are cyberbulling her keep in mind she's a customer not an employee is this common meijer practice? Oh and sue banned me from the store for being the fiance now she's being threatened by the greater's husband somthing needs to be done

DEAR MEIJER HEADQUARTERS; I WORK FOR STORE 63 IN ROSEVILLE,MICHIGAN. MY COMPLAINT IS THAT THERE IS MUCH FAVORITISM TOWARD ONE EMPLOYEE THAT BEGAN AT MEIJER AFTER I DID. THE SERVICE MANAGERS ARE GIVING HER ALL THE HOURS, WHILE MY HOURS HAVE BEEN CUT ALMOST IN HALF. I TRIED TALKING TO THEM BUT TO NO AVAIL. I THOUGHT THAT YOUR HOURS DEPENDED ON YOUR SENORITY. NOT AT THIS STORE! MY HUSBAND IS DISSABLED, AND I NEED ALL THE HOURS I CAN GET.

I work for Meijer, and I feel that the managers in my store are rude and don't deserve their positions. The only time any of the managers care about what's going on or even show an interest is when they know that someone from corporate is coming. I remember when Meijer was a great place to work, I have been with the company for 20 years, and now I hate my job. I won't recommend anyone to work at Meijer. Back in the day Meijer was all for family, and now they don't care about anything besides making a buck. I can't wait to find another job so I can tell my management where to stick it. I can't believe that I stayed with the company for all these years just to start all over again, but it will be well worth it.

Bought a Meijer Cesar salad in a clear plastic bowl for lunch, after eating almost half of it found a black dead flying insect size of a peanut in a salad...called the store, spoke to Store Manager and all he said was to take it back to get $2.25 compensation and that they will write a report. I lost my appetite and Meijer lost one loyal customer. He really didn't seem to care.

Dave MariSco called me to say I had won the 1000 $ GIFT CARD FOR FILLING OUT THE TAKE THE SURVEY BUT SAID he wanted me to meet him as he said we were the same age and other remarks that made me uncomfortabale so I asked him to mail it but I mailed a thank you note to meijers TO BE NICE but then about 2 weeks later he mailed me a 20$ card with a letter saying he could get in trouble doing that, I was shocked and asked for his boss to call me and Anthony Wright took 3 weeks to call me back and said Dave was confused and he would call me back but he as not and it has been another month. I am calling channel 7 news and now believe this is sexual harrasment as when I was called by Dave and would not meet him he did this to a widow with a disabled son. beware of Allen Park meijers and shame on you Dave AND ANTHONY SEE YOU ON THE NEWS AND COURT

If you were fired from Meijer and worked there for more than 5 years, please continue reading. I was a cashier terminated from Meijer. It is my belief that I was terminated to reduce labor costs. Three other ladies along with myself were all fired for the same reason. It has been classified as work related theft. I was with the company for 22 years, another with 20 years, one with 18 years and one with 12. Not one of us had a bad record and would not have done anything we thought to be wrong.  The union, after nine months, has decided not to go any further to help us. In these nine months our case never even went to arbitration. We all had to fight and go to individual hearings to receive unemployment benefits. All cases were eventually found in our favor. Please help us right this wrong. I don't want anyone else to go through what we have. If you feel you were fired from Meijer unfairly and were employed there for more than 5 years please let us know by e-mailing your story to kclcwins@ymail.com. Thank you.
