Communication between recruiters is poor. They told a client on a Friday that I would be changing assignments. They left this person without a nurse for three days. The nurse taking over my spot was not trained yet. They often have the family train the nurses. I often had clients complain about their failure to staff. Many family members are often stuck taking care of their loved ones because Maxim does not have coverage. The recruiters failed numerous times to notify staff and family of schedule changes. . Do not upset a recruiter or they may find a reason to fire you. On the up side, the hours are flexible but no holiday pay, no guaranteed hours and no overtime. When you walk in the door, they will give you a s*** eating grin.

This is the worst home healthcare company that I have ever worked for. I worked for maxim for 12 years. They always tried to pay me a low hourly rate. I had to speak up to prevent them from paying me a low wage. They continually lie to their clients and tell them that there are enough nurses to cover all shifts, a BIG FAT LIE. The office staff have no knowledge of the health care indusrty. They are sales oriented people. They don't have a lue about what it takes to properly care for a medically intensive child or adult. Maxim was foung GUILTY of fraud last year and maxim owes the governmrnt big bucks in fines. A piss poor cmpany indeed. Steer clear from maxin healthcare.

Over the past two years with Maxim Healthcare Services, I have given 100% on every assignment I was given. When Maxim could not provide a nurse to relieve me, I would often stay on my own time (a violation of company policy), to make sure the patient was comfortable and the family was left with only minor things to take care of. My last patient gave up his fight in February 2011. Since this time, I have been assigned to two new cases that have gone very poorly. The office had failed to assure that the home was properly equipped and the information about the patient (including orders) were minimally sufficient. I have been an RN for over 30 years and working with this company has been one of the worst experiences I have had. On my last case, the clients mother asked me to help her with a flyer for an upcoming event to raise money for other children with her childs condition. I used a picture that had been on a website set up for this paticular child, had the mother initial it for approval and submitted it to the office for their approval. Instead of getting the needed approval, I basically got terminated. They have charged me with violation of HIPAA regulations, which is a very serious offense for nurses. When I tried to discuss this with the Director of Clinical Services (a temporary corporate person whom I had never met), she told me they were no longer going to be using my services and it was not open to discussion. I believe the real reason they no longer want me working with them, is that I had filed a few complaints with the corporate office regarding the mismanagement of admissions by the accounts manager (including a complaint that when the accounts manager visited the patients home, she gave a key ring with a pocket knife to a 2 yr old sibling). The business side of this particular Maxim office is run by an incompetent person who has no clue as to what goes on from a clinical standpoint and whose knowledge of the medical industry in general, is basically non-existent. I am not just another disgruntled employee. I felt this office has employed some of the best nurses I have ever worked with. The problem lies totally with the business office who ties the hands of nurses who want to do everything they can to help their clients.

I am very glad that I found this site concerning Maxim. I was treated extremely poorly and most unprofesssional by the Chalotte Maxim group. I jumped through more hoops than a poodle in the circus and it cost me around $200.00 or more just to comply. They are the arrogant nasty peop;e that I have ever encountered and they use employees to call and call to make sure that you are following all of the prerequisites for hire. I even had a death in the family and they did not care one bit. It was only them that they were concerned with and I gaurentte that I will never be reimbursed monitarily, nor will the fact that they made me the lowest of lows. I worked with a recruiter Jennifer QWilliamson and then after being led on was referred to a Chad on a Friday only to be informed that Jenifer was ina meeting and hewould have her get back to me on Monday, October 10, 2011. I was on the computer busting a gut just to update a cetification and sent Jenninfer an email with a request read attached. I also saw that during this recertification that she read my coorespndence. I stopped what was important as to comply with the Maxim requirements only to find out that she left and a CHAD answered giving me the run around. I finally decided to take calls today after a death in the family, only to get a massage from a MICHAEL who stated that hew was a supervisor at the branch I was busting my behind for and then I was put on hold only to have CHAD take the call on a speaker phone which I in turn stated that I preferred not to be on at this trying time. I have had a lot of hard times from an ex-spouse with too much money and time to continue to get at me and I worked with a nurse on 80mg. of Prozac that would tell the devil to go to ****. I told the truth and Maxim did not give me a second thought exept to let me know throught the mail what and why I was not good enough for them. Befor this all happened I had tried to secure a position that I asked JENNIFER WILLIAMSON about concerning another recruiter that she stated and CHD stated that was not with Maxim. So I wisah you all well and Charlotte,nc as stated above would not be a branch if any that I would work with. They are so TRUTHFUL AND FORTHRIGHT.

I worked for Maxim for over one year as a director. It was the worst work experience of my professional life. The internal staff are truly bottom feeders. They will lie for any or no reason. No wonder Maxim had to pay 150 million dollars to Medicarr.

Worst company anyone could ever imagine. I could go on and on but I will say that I was a Director of Clinical Services for the company several years ago. I was ignored when i reported the inappropriate behavior that took place in the office between the Recruiters and the Accounts Manager who all partied together every weekend. Contacted Corporate Compliance and never heard a word. The philosophy of this company is to do what you're told and keep your mouth shut. If you have morals, values, and a strong work ethic, this is the last place you want to work.

I worked for Maxim and never got a bad review on any of my evaluations...in fact my RN failed to complete a eval because she knew she'd have to write nothing but good things about my performance! They do grossly underpay nurses and you have to practically act irate in order for the recruiters to do their job! You're the last one to know of a schedule change.

Here is what I know about Maxim: 1) They place the business side at a higher level than the nursing side, which means that they don't really respect the nursing side. When the business side tells lies about the nurses, the nurses get fired. 2) In the business side, the art of lying is seen as cleverness. 3) They use military tactics with their business side. They make their business arm of the company feel special, elite. And that only allows them the abuse their business side into low pay and long hours. The top level respects no one. 4) At the top level are people with lots of money, big salarys and zero compassion for anything else except themselves. I have worked for this company for 4 years. I have trained nurses working on the same case I work to find out they give them more pay. How freakin fair is that! I worked for the same company in san Antonio to find more money but same bs. When I move back to va they decease my pay by $7. Now u tell me what kind of bull is that. Good nurses are hard to come by. And should be treated as the professionals we are. If money doesn't get better and they keep paying the newer nurses more, that have little to no experience then this might be my sign to leave. What a shame that this.company cannot be fair.

Maxim HealthCare, the Columbia branch --where all directives come from ---is as an earlier poster stated, "pre-civil rights"... Not only is there mucho politics, but, there is blatant disrespect, harrassment, and, verbal threats to employees to make them succumb to do their work! I saw this, I had one-on-one accounts with colleagues who were subjected to such heinous and libelous actions. In addition, the folks who have been there very long use - have a "good 'ol boy and ol'girl" network! So much so that they like to sweep each otheres DIRT under the rug --and don't beleive it doesn;t start with HR!!! They are Always the first to know--SO, forewarned is for-armed!!!

So I went on an interview for Maxim Healthcare Services in Columbia.MD. They couldn't answer any of mgy questions. They ask dumb question like whether you like working in an office. Long story short... if they call run fast and quickly away a clear waste of time.

I have worked for this company for 2 years now and go above and beyond always filling in when nurses call out work 40+ hours a week for this company yet they can't put in writing a quaranteed number of hours in order for me to qualify for a home loan. Rate of pay is that of a CNA and now they are talking about cutting hours for those working 12 hour shift whose clients are on medical. Its all about the almighty dollar and not the safety and welfare of not only the clients they service but the nurses they employ

SADLY WE HAD TO WORRIE ABOUT OUR LITTLE GIRL. HALF THE TIME WE DID NOT HAVE A NURSE, THEY CALL IN OR THE OFFICE WOULD FAIL TO CALL US WHEN A NURSE COULD NOT WORK. IF WE COMPLAIN, IT IS TURNED AROUND LIKE ITS US DOING ALL THE WRONG AND THE NURSE "CHARTED" NO LIES. SO SORRY MAXIM, BUT HALF YOUR NURSES WOULD LIE ON CHARTING, WOULD GIVE NEB OR MED WITH OUT ORDER AND CHART PER PARENTS.. WOULD GET PEE OR POOP ALL OVER OUR CHILD'S BEDDING WHEN CHANGING DIAPERS. HALF HAVE TURNED THE VENT OFF WHILE VENT STILL ON MY CHILD.. AND SAY OPPPPPS. WHEN WE CALL AND COMPLAIN, THEY ACT LIKE OH, DAMN THIS PARENT NEEDS A LIFE, OR SAY SHIT TO US LIKE.. OH YOU HAVE A BAD TRACK RECORD ALREADY FOR LETTING NURSES GO. WHEN HALF THE TIME IT WAS THE NURSES LEAVING MAXIM FOR NEWS JOBS CUZ.. THEY WERE SICK OF THE BULLSHIT TOO. THE LIES AND CHEATING ON THERE PAY. IN THE END MAXIM MAKES IT LOOK LIKE THEY DID NTHING WRONG AND WILL COVER THIER ASS, AND PULL A NURSE OFF THE CASE BEFORE YOU CAN BLINK.. AND SEND THE NURSE TO NEW CASE.. NOTHING DONE TO NURSE FOR ALMOST KILLING A CHILD ON A VENT OR CLEARING AIRWAY.. WE LEFT THEM YRS AGO

I have worked for Maxim for a while, I recently resigned over a CPR cert. I was working to care for my elderly mother as a HHS,I am a LPN, due to Maxim making false promises that they could staff me with other HHA, which has never happen, In formed that I had to take a CPR class, I took the class and then was informed they would only except if I took there class which would cost an additional 25.00 dollars. I have been working with them for over 2 years, they have never staffed my mother with another worker, on a visit to the office, Mom was with me,she saw an employee urinating on the side of the building, the office workers are very rude when calling our home, they have been proven to be very unprofessional and uneducated, with a lack of caring about their clients along with their workers., stay clear they lie and cheat, only after the money.

I have read the reviews above of some of the employees,well you should be on the other end and be a client! The lies are just as bad,they tell you what they think you want to hear, I have no idea where they find their cna's; some didn't know which end of the tube goes where in the cath,they didn't know how to empty a cath,etc. I had one walk off her shift and was told she would be dismissed,she's still employed and has not showed up for another client and to top it off the manager that told me she would be dismissed was promoted!!! GO MAXIM! They have sent RN"s that had no idea how to change a bandage around a pic line and some would take up to 3 times to try and draw blood until I stopped them. It's a wonder they haven' had law suits against them. This is only a portion of some of the fun things i've gone thru,it's shameful to think these people are sent out in the field to take care of those that need care. Don't get me wrong after going thru I don't know how many I now have 2 of the very best I believe there is and I wouldn't give them up for the world; i believe there are others out there. Maxim needs to be more thorough and someone maybe need to train the trainer!!

i could not agree more with the bad reviews maxim is receiving. i have been with the company for years only because of the patient i have. i have worked inthe tampa and brandon office. and the sherman oaks office in california. they will throw a nurse under the bus anytime it suits them, rude and never want to pay nurse what they are worth. unprofessional uneducated jerks running a company. but they are swift to c.y.a with the meaningless in-services because of their constant "audits". please. they do not have a good reputation with anyone in the healthcare profession, they ARE THE WALMART OF HOMEHEALTH. nation wide and out for themselves.

As of todays date, I must say the office in Houston, Texas is not any better than the other locations! I am an LPN and along with a few other nurses with whom I attended orientation with, none of us have recieved our orientation pay. Aside from NOT recieving a paycheck for orientation, there is an extreme lack of communication with the Maxim staff. Not only do the staff not communicate with the nurses well, they don't communicate with each other. Maxim staff members are also very rude and unprofessional! Yes, as a nurse you are to be professional at all times. ATTN MAXIM STAFF/RECRUITERS: Do not try to enforce professionalism on "us" when you lack professionalism within "yourselves!" I have been with Maxim on/off for several years (not @ the Houston location) and have never experienced the lack of communication, disorganization or mistreatment as the Houston office has presented. And I am not so in need of a job that I would need to continue to tolerate being mistreated. I was warned by several people who said, "You don't want to go to Maxim." "Don't go to Maxim." "Maxim, doesn't pay their nurses." Very true, Maxim underpays their nurses! $18! No joke. That is the being salary, depending on skill. Clients lacking the supplies and/or equipment so the nurse is unable to perform job duties. Talk about risking your licenses! I can go on with so much more, but I not will not wasting anymore of my time or yours. Enclosing I will say I am certain all Maxim staff locations are not like those that have been mentioned, but it certainly puts a sour taste in your mouth about the company when do come in contact with a bad Maxim office, like the Houston,TX location. Unless, you are deseparate, and even then, do not go to this office! You have been warned!

The office in Fort Wayne will lie to their client, not notify when their is a change of staff for you they just assume you will be ok with it. They call the aides while they are on duty to try to do their schedule.

i won't go into the lies that i've been told over the yrs.it's my word against "theirs',AND I NEED THIS JOB! i can't take the time,energy or aggravation of going thru re-hire somewhere else! would things be better?! i doubt it! i'm a bit different,i take care of my 36yr. old daughter,who is pretty much bedridden!i can't take her out for even dinner,which was the highlite of her wk. i'm here 24\7 with her,it's very hard to get errands or anything done,she's total care. anyhow to my point,this new thing they came out with doing your required inservices on their office comp., or get your own and you can do it from home.knowing my daughters failing condition and how hard trhings have been,i still had to go up there.because the comp.that i took the time,trouble an un-needed expense to procure,will not let me on any of my traing!i am trying to comply here!

I have called to inform the Corporate office of a dangerous and unprofessional act of one of their Georgia Offices.I'm waiting to hear back from the Corporate office.When/if they call me back and honestly solve this matter,then I will know for positive what kind of company this truly is.Whether they have character or not.If they dont call me back....I will go ahead with a law suit!They are dealing with Children as patients and Children need protection from any wrong doing! I am that protector! At least one of them!And I need to hear back from them by Monday or I will consider it that they dont care about this dangerous situation.I have already contacted my attorney,to stand by.I am adamant in protecting these children from dangerous situations,as I should be as a nurse and a human being!I have asked the Georgia office numerous times for Maxim Corporate phone number and they have refused to give it to me!Luckily I found it on my own!This matter will be taken care of with or without the help of the Corporate office.I suggest they contact me asap.I am not the person to overlook serious matters!They know how to reach me!It is more than a total shame if all a company cares about is money and not the safety of their patients/clients.For that will be stopped.I guarantee it!If Maxim Corporate Office shows me different,I will come back and tell about that as well.It is their choice how they solve this matter!The rating I gave is for that Georgia Maxim office!
