250 Reviews For Massage Envy Headquarters & Corporate Office

I was told in the beginning of signing up for Message Envy that it is a six month contract $49 a month and then I can cancel my account putting a 30 day written notice. This is at the Stenston Hills location in Colorado Springs. It is my 6 month appointment and I wrote a written notice to cancel my account in 30 days and I turned in this notice on the 9th Jan 2012. I got a call today on the 11th that stated I was not allowed to cancel my account because I was locked in for a year and that I could put a 6 month freeze on my account but that they would continue to charge me after that for the 6 months. I have kept my paperwork from when I signed up. I have read the 2 page contract up and down in all the place I have initialed. No where in the contract does it state that I am locked in for a year or for 6 months for that matter. I will be going down to the office tomorrow to speak to the manager and ask for a copy of the contract that they have on record. If it does not state I am locked in and they do not cancel my contract I will be calling corporate office in Scottsdale, I will also be going to the local news and I will get Message Envy blacked balled as off limits to military. Colorado Springs population is about 75% military. I spoke to a friend who had previously had a membership at Message Envy and they had the same problem happen to them. When they were down at the office there was another couple who was told 6 months for the contract. Since it is not written in the contract that you are locked for a year or for six months, they were forced to cancel my friends membership because she called the corporate office. The manager got fired but apparently this location is still doing the same thing, the stupid thing is that they did not change their contract stating you are locked in to a contract. My friend asked for the corporate office number and they would not give it to her. She told me she had to call another location to get it. I just googled it and found the address and phone number. Will be making a huge complaint about this company. Huh... nothing lower than a one star.. I would give Message Envy a -5 in stars for their services.

Very rude owner who charged my credit card for a friends purchase without my permission and then proceeded to tell me it was my fault for transferring my massage to her and that since we were friends it was ok. This is not okay and highly illegal. I let that one go to one week later being incorrectly charged for a membership fee which I cancelled with more than 30 days notice. Same owner fights with me about the charge. Needless to say I will never be using a massage envy again, and I caution people to keep their cards on file with a business who freely charges without permission; if I could give 0 stars I would.

very rude manager, very rude receptionist at Massage Envy Clearwater, Florida on McMullen Booth and Enterprise. They claim they call after they bill you to remind you to schedule - they dont. Manager takes a week to call back. I know others who have had bad experience. They even refused to let me sign a cancellation form!!!! until "manager" was there - I went in three times, claimed he was not. I would not treat clients this way

If there were a 'zero' stars that is what i would pick for Massage Envy in Santa Rosa CA! Since I signed up last year this membership has been a nightmare. I am sending a snailmail which explains some of what I have been through to corporate and to the Santa Rosa ME. This business is run so poorly I do not understand how you have stayed in business. Again today I went in for my appointment only to be told they had no record of an appointment for me. The list of poor experience goes on and on. Very Disappointed and Frustrated in santa rosa!

I decided to use a 'gift certificate' given to me by my daughter over a year ago at ME. I made the appt. for 12/23/11 and had the massage done at 11.am. I completed the form with all my personal information, paid the tip and gave the receptionist the gift certificate and left. At about 4.pm I received a cell call from a blocked number as I was driving from shopping. The caller IDed himself as a police officer who proceeded to ask my name, address and if I was at ME earlier that day. I answered to the best of my ability then he sent he received a call from ME that I passed a bad gift cert. and may not be who I wrote on the form but a fraudulent client. I was in shock an told him I will go back to ME to straighten out the issue. He said he will not pursue the case to arrest me for criminality because it was a civil case after I explained my life to him. I went back to ME with my daughter who did confirm that she purchased the gift cert. on line. The manager was the worst. She said she called the police because they do not use gift cert. but gift cards and that she was told that I got the massage, left the gift cert. on the counter and left. I was furious as I told her she needs to look at her camera tape to see no such thing occur and why couldn't she just call me to come back and resolve the issue instead of calling the police as though I am a criminal. I told her I will pay the $49. with my Amex card to rectify the problem. She called the police again. She got the chance to explain then I got to explain to them. She even lied to the police and said I did not pay. Apparently the police told her to forget about the charges but it was too late as I had already paid. I would like to get my money back from ME as I plan to investigate the online purchase my daughter made and who got her $49.00. ME needs to train their employees.

Your manager lied to me, and told me my account was canceled only to continue charging me for the next ten months. Maybe your unaware that this is against the law.

Worst place ever!!!! I called and scheduled a 2 hour massage using a $100 gift certificate. I went in today and thankfully before we got started I asked to make sure this was for 2 hours. The therapist said she doesn't do 2 hours. So I went back up front to see why they would schedule me with someone that doesn't even do the service I specifically set up an appointment for! The front desk girls were clueless on how to handle anything. The manager came out and said I could reschedule for sometime next month. I said no. I have 3 kids, getting away isnt easy. I said how about an hour today and in a few months use another hour and they could eat the price. She refused. She was unwilling to work with me when this was their mistake. Some idiot behind the counter chimed in and said I could come back tomorrow for a facial instead or a massage. If I wanted a stupid facial I would have scheduled that in the first place! I left there in tears. I called my husband when I got in the car and he called up there. He said the manager said she would let me do 2 one hour massages and they would eat the price difference but I couldn't get one today because I missed my appointment and it would be next week. Hello!!! Was this not what I asked for!! I can't next week because of children and I go back to work! I hate that place!!! Horrible customer service and the most ignorant employees EVER!!

I had a horrible experience with one of your clinics this morning. I spoke with a man named Brad at your Pineview Plaza Office in St. George, Utah. This man was not very nice to me. He was very rude and condescending. My husband signed up for 12 months of massages for $49 a month. He was told at signing that he could cancel at any time. I know this because he called me directly leaving their office to tell me that we could cancel at any time. We decided that after a couple of months that we needed to cut down on bills and that $49 a month was a payment that wasn’t needed. I then called Massage Envy in the Pineview Plaza of St. George, Utah. Brad answered the phone. I told him that I wanted to cancel our account. He then told me that my husband signed a contract. I told him that Martin, my husband, was told he could cancel at any time, so there was some miscommunication. This man started talking rudely, so to get out of the situation, I told him that I am not very satisfied with this and hung up. I then went home and found the paper work that was given to my husband (see attached). I tried my hardest to look over the paper work, but it was basically unreadable. I proceeded to call the office back. I spoke with Brad again. At that time I asked him to read over the paperwork with me because I couldn’t read it. He read over the paperwork with me. I asked him then about cancelling and if there was some kind of cancellation fee. He then proceeded to be very condescending, implying that I didn’t understand what a contract meant. He was not nice at all. I tried to explain to him that if we had known it was a contract that COULDN’T be cancelled at any time, then I wouldn’t have called. I know what a contract means and what it entails. We have cell phones and satellite television that do the same thing. I proceeded to ask about a cancellation fee. He told me there wasn’t one. I was confused because he was trying to tell me that there was NO WAY out of this contract. I said to him that even cell phones and television have a cancellation fee to get our their contracts. He then told me that there was an amount I could pay and it would be $147. I asked what that would be for, whether it would be paying for a certain amount of massages or not. He said no, it would be a payment of three months of services and it would take us out of the contract. My husband has been there 3 or 4 times in the last few months. He has used the services we’ve paid for. I believe that we are being treated very unfairly and rudely. We have been a customer of yours and are not receiving a very good customer service. I tried to call your corporate offices to no avail. I am now to the point that I looking for other avenues to get through with this. I am looking to my local news stations, radios, the Better Business Bureau, and word of mouth. I am leaving my contact information for you to contact me as soon as possible. I will not be treated that way on the phone again by one of your employees, so I will wait for your contact me.

Received a gift card from this place. I do not like this place at all and the buyer is stuck with the bill. Their refund policy sucks and this business is a bunch of theives. Rocky point NY location. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!

Massage Envy totally took me for a ride! I was given a $50 gift card as a gift. Due to my pregnancy I was not able to use it within the first year. So, I called the Massage Envy located in Dunwoody, Ga. and was informed by an employee there named Jenny that the gift certificate did in fact expire a year from the date it was purchased. What a FAT LIE! Due to her lack of knowledge of her company product, I was forced to make an appointment that day since the gift card was set to "expire" within a weeks time. Mind you, this was 3 days before the holiday, and I was planning on traveling, and on top of that, we needed to get a sitter, and pay for her in order for me to make the appointment. However, due to the fact that it was a gift purchased for me, I did not want to see it go to waste. Once the day of my scheduled appointment was approaching, I realized my timing was cutting short, and had to cancel that appointment, and reschedule for what I THOUGHT was the cut off day for me to use the gift card. when I called to reschedule, I was informed by an employee named Shantrice that she did not believe that gift cards expired, and she was going to give me a call on the following day. Which was the day I was attempting to reschedule for, and what i thought was the expiration day of the card. The next day I CALLED, and spoke with an obnoxious manager named Nanette, who was also oblivious to her own company policy, which you would expect more from a "manager." Who also misinformed me that the gift certificate did have an expiration date. Forcing me to reschedule another appointment on that day, which the gift card was "supposed" to expire on; Nanette was also "gracious" enough to inform me that they were charging my gift card %50 which was half of what was on the card, for rescheduling my appointment that I missed the prior day, and since they were being so gracious enough to "oblige" me by fitting me in on the last day I had available to use the gift card. They were going to charge the remaining balance left on the card which was $25 for my massage that day. So whether I used the gift card that day or not, it was going to be a total lost. Well, come to find out, AFTER they had already completely maxed out my gift card for services that was not rendered. Surprisingly, they found out at the very last minute GIFT CARDS DO NOT EXPIRE!!! So, not only was I forced to set an appointment that I did not have to set due to being misinformed by one of their employees, but I was also charged once for having to reschedule a last minute appointment that I really did not have time for, but I was also charged AGAIN for the appointment I was told I HAD to take due to the fact they THOUGHT the gift card was set to expire on that day. By the time they actually decided to read their own company policy handbook, (Uh-DUH) I lost all the credit available on the card, and ultimately lost the gift my family member sacrificed to purchase for me, because they chose to charge me unjustly based on their own lack of knowledge, and ignorance of their company policies. This company "MASSAGE ENVY" is a flat out company full of scam artist. They take your money, in hopes of not having to work for it. Their lack of consideration that they try to cover with fake tones of empathy is rude, and a disgusting example of "customer service" which they clearly are not trained on when taking a job at this sorry excuse for a place of "relaxation." That they love to continue falsely advertising; please, if you care anything about your friends, or loved ones. DO NOT SEND THEM TO MASSAGE ENVY FROM HELL! It's a waste of your time, and money. By the time they are through with you, you will feel more relaxed from getting the hell out of there, than getting a "massage." By the way, if you are a scam artist, and like getting over on people, Massage Envy is looking for a few "good" men like you!

My franchise owner turned against me after I refused to see a sexually abusive client. After that she called me into her office for trumped up criticisms several times and then fired without cause along with three other therapists. I did not get unemployment benefits though I appealed my denial four times, ending at the 1st District Court in Tallahasee Florida. When I signed on at Massage Envy, there were literally eighty to a hundred pages of guidelines and employment documents to sign. Among them was a two line statement that If I failed to report to DHR, Inc. that I had been terminated by Massage Envy, I would not receive unemployment benefits. No M.E. therapist to whom I spoke after I was denied unemployment knew previously that DHR was our "employer" or that DHR had to be notified of our termination in order for us to get unemployment benefits. The true role of DHR was deliberately withheld from Massage Envy employees, including me, two other terminated employees (who got unemployment because I warned them about the requirement) and another employee still working at M.E. I enjoyed my work at M.E. with one exception -- dealing with the exploittion, disrespect, and dishonesty of management there. In the denial form from Unemployment, DHR describes itself as a "employee leasing company" and that I was a leased employee who had not reported for reassignment for another position! I don't know why what M.E. and DHR did to us does not constitute fraud against the Unemployment Benefit agency, but evidently it doesn't.

**IMPORTANT** For those of you who go to massage envy and complain that a "1-hr session" is only 50 minutes, us therapists bust our asses to do a massage, get the client off the table, change the sheets and blankets, fill out your chart, and pick up the next person. So stop being so god-damned narrow minded and think about other people. After all, we are here to think about YOU by giving you a great massage therapy. I would appreciate to be treated as if I were human. Thank you.

I am currently on staff at a massage envy as a therapist. I try my hardest to treat all my clients with upmost respect and compassion. However, outside the therapy room, the place is my living hell. I am crying at least once a week from the pressure, bullying, and disrespect I get from the front desk staff and management. Every therapist I work with agrees that we are all over-qualified, under-paid, undermined, and our skills abused. The sad part is, there is nothing I can do about it because they consider me as completely replaceable and that there is no reason to listen to me. Each move they make is seemingly backed by law, and I do not have enough money from them to take action or even pay my rent and student loans from massage school. It gives me peace to know some one at some point will read this - though it wont do anything. So please spread the word and maybe we can change massage envy for the better, or put them back in their own private level of Hell where they came from in the first place.

The Mgr of Orlando SOHO location returned my call, was professional and allowed me to close acct without 30 day notice,of course I met my committment. I had a very unethical issue, so I emailed Massage Envy at clinic0724@massageenvy.com called 4803664140. There are many ways you can get your complaint to reach the right audience. Of course the Mgr doe not want my business either,he informed me he does not want me to come back. I would never reccomend this company to anyone. This company spends so much on advertising for new clients, they should have an abundance of clients in their database,to never have to advertise. You need to find out the email address for your own location and follow the proper complaint procedure, as you would do for any other complaints.

massage lover notes so eloquently "Read the contract before you sign it you idiots its all spelled out very clearly." Undoubtedly that rheotrical ejaculation came down from their corporate offices by an idotic 'yes' man. But more importantly, I concur with all the therapists posting here. Massage Envy is nothing more than a massage mill; herd your clients in, then herd them out as fast as you can. This organization knows absolutely nothing about healing, nor could they care less :to provide it to their clients: healing unfolds in positive regard for others, something this organization knows anything about. Their only concern is maximizing their profits, burning out their therapists, and providing dictatorial norms, to enhance their monumental greed. This organization's entire business model is inimical to healing people.

Massage Envy charge your account every month even you don't have time for massage. then it accumulates and when your flex card runs out, they cancel your account and refuse to give the services you paid for. I got sick so I was so busy going to Doctors and hospitals, I end up with six massages unused, when I refuse to be charged for more, they cancelled my account and forfeited my six hour massages. This is theft/robbery, I could have used the money for the rest of my hospital bills. They keep on insisting i signed a contract, maybe a penalty for not going maybe more appropriate but totally forfeiting six hours of prepaid massage is total greed. Their solution is for me to pay 4 hours more, now I will have 10 hours of massages. I can think of 1000 more important things to do. Then they say read your contract, then your contract is illegal, charging somebody for unused services. Don't expect your business to be blessed if you keep on stealing from other people!!! I am going to tell everybody i know about this business practice of yours!!!

Today I had an appt. for 4:30 pm, made yesterday,I called around 1 pm and informed them my asthma was severe and flared up,Julia at front desk, said we will charge you a 50% cancellation fee, so I went to the appt. I also put my cancellation notice in I have met my committment, but you need to give a 30 day notice. Now, I need to see when my last visit will expire, also ,contact my bank so they do not collect any more funds from my bank. The receptionist Corrine in Orlando SOTO location said , Oh I have asthma too, just use your inhaler. Well every ones level is different I told her. I wonder if they make you keep your appt if you have excessive gas and the runs.I will not ever go their again,or reccomend. I am going to pursue my complaint and take it everywhere, even to my doctor. Front desk receptionist could be very uneducated, and poorly paid to assist me like that, what do you thin/ She said their is no mgr,or corporate office,so then I will contact BBB in Orlando, the Massage Association,Doctor,Facebook,Twitter, and cc health Dept, because it was very unheathy for me to be their and they still insisted I take the appointment. Please beware, what about other illnesses.

Horrible business. The therapists there come and go constantly, it seems they cant keep the same employees for more than a couple of months. The front desk girls are snotty and loud.

I lost my job at Massage Envy on Nov.4,2011. I did'nt receive my direct deposit into my account so I called Meredith, to find out where is my money? She did not return my call so I called front desk and Nicole answered and told me that Meredith will be in at 11am. You see no professionalism, You don't give out that info. Desperately, waiting for answers about my check I, called Meredith again Wow!no answer. Okay, 10:30 I called Christine, usually she answers calls. But, guess what she got in touch with Tony\Manager. As, I opened the doors of Massage Envy you can feel the backstabbing, lying and uttered confusion going on. None other to say I had been pulled from the schedule and thats when I exhale. My prayers had been answered the exit was the very best thing that happened to me since Ive been there, but it was very, very, wrong and the way it was handled because I only wanted my pay check.Again, Please don't treat your therapists like that.Tony, needs classes on Professionalism\How to Handle Complaints. He didnt give me a chance he really made me felt like I had committed a crime. Please, tell Meredith answer her phone when therapists need info. about their check and I will never work at Massage Envy and I will make it neccessary that my family, friends and relatives to never, ever get a massage at Collierville,I see why its the Envy
