250 Reviews For Massage Envy Headquarters & Corporate Office

I wanted to voice a serious concern as to what I believe is an issue of false advertising. The franchise/company is Massage Envy and is located at 333 N. Brand Avenue in Glendale. Yesterday, I received a postcard in the USPS advertising "$10 off a 90-minute massage session with this postcard." I know from my one experience with patronizing this franchise, that their advertised 60-minute massage is in fact only 50 minutes - mine was 45. They shave 10 minutes off every hour and yet call it a 1-hour massage session. In response to this post card, I called today, 11/11/11 to inquire about the 90 minute "massage session.: The woman who answered the phone explained that the actual "hands on massage" part was not 90 minutes but 1 hour and 20 minutes - again, shaving 10 minutes off. When I questioned her about the 10 minutes, she said that the 10 minutes was for undressing. Mike, how is undressing partof a "massage session?" So why don't they tack on the 10minutes it takes to park, the 10 minute wait in the lobby, and the time it took me to walk to and from the massage room then? A "massage session" to me and I would imagine all consumers of massages, to mean in the actual massage room with the licensed massage therapist - not what I do separate and apart from the massage theraphy - ie - get undressed. THey are charging me for taking off my own cloths! When I told the person on the other end that this was misleading to the public, she couldn't have cared less. I asked her for a phone number for the corporate office- -she told me there wasn't one and to go to the website. I have the postcard - there is nothing on the advertisement that qualifies what a massage session is. The "$10 off a 90-minute massage session with this postcard" is prominantly displayed on both sides of the large postcard. Massage Envy is ripping off consumers - found their number - they are located in Arizona. $6M a year in sales with just 30 employees at the corporate office? Fishy. Number is 602.992.3689.

Redmond, WA. A friend gifted us a $50 gift card to Massage Envy. When I tried to pay using the gift card, the cashier said that the gift card has a $0 balance. So, am not sure what happened. As best as I can tell, our friend paid $50, Massage Envy took that money and then did not honor it. The only reason I had gone to this place was because I had a gift card. What a scam!! Will never return to this place for a massage.

Massage Envy, which has collected thousands in gift card purchases from our family over the years, is now stealing hundreds more under the guise of the membership program. Not only that, but my wife prepaid for 15 massages and hasn't even received them yet. Stay away from these people.

If there would be 0 star rating I would check on it. Massage Envy sucks big time. The massage that I received was not bad at all but when I went to clerk to pay for massage she told me that the price changed as of today. I got an offer in email for an 1hr massage for price of $39 and and up paying $49 because as she said: "Price changed today". How the heck in world these people think to stay in business if they work like this? Is there any number or email address for Envy's corporate?

I had a client come in who was horribly inappropriate. He kept grabbing me and asking for things like not to be draped, and hinting that he wanted areas of his male organs massaged. I know that I should of ended the massage and told him to leave, but truth is when the situation was happening right in front of me I really didn’t know how to react and I was scared. I kept deflecting the things he was saying reminding him that draping was state law, and also massaging of male organs was against the law. After the massage was over and he stepped outside the door, he grabbed onto me and would not let go, until two therapists came out of the couple’s room after there massages had ended. He let go and quickly left. I tried to talk to the receptionist up front (Jacqueline) who scolded me because she was using the company phone to call a boy whose number she had gotten off face book and had hung up on him because she thought I was a client. Quickly she redialed the number using the company computer which she was supposed to be using to book appointments, but was using to browse the internet instead. I tried to explain what had just happened, but she told me to shut up. She also said that He requested to have me again next week. The lead therapist (Sammy) was on vacation, and I had never met the owner of the Massage envy I worked at; considering she never came in and I had no way to contact her. I did not know what to do except wait until the next morning and call the manager of the receptionists and tell her what had happened. That night when I came into work the Receptionist Jacqueline whom had been working the night the whole incident happened greeted me pissed off that I got her in trouble. She also told me that the client I had been working on had been calling for me all day asking what hours I worked and to see me. When they wouldn’t give him the info he would hang up and call back hoping to ask a different receptionist. I was told to write an incident report against him. I did and a week went by the same client calling every day asking the same questions and the owner still never having come in or reading the incident report. I kept insisting that I refused to work on him again and they kept telling me that’ not my choice that’s up to the owner. The day before the Massage IO was supposed to give him came and The owner had still made no attempt to come in or read the report. What choice did I have but to call the police and report him? After being contacted by the police a furious Massage Envy branch owner called me upset that I had gotten the police involved. She also called the client and told him that she didn’t want to lose his business and he was welcome back to see any other therapist there. After chewing me out I told her that I had tired to tell the receptionist, the lead therapist was on vacation and Had no way to contact her cause she was always out of the office. All she did was defend Jacqueline and say the whole thing was my fault for not ending the massage early and telling him to leave. Sammy came back from vacation, and greeted me with hostility, and dirty looks. For the rest if the month I was booked almost no massages. To this day if Jacqueline is working I still will not get booked. I have had other therapist and even clients tell me they heard Jacqueline talking about me behind my back; and most shockingly that she was talking about me to Sammy in front of clients and Sammy did nothing. Last Saturday a new client came in and one of my co workers worked on him at the same time I had a female client. Upon bringing her medical chart up front Jacqueline Cornered me and said “Hey do a damn good job this guy is my neighbor.” “I’m working on a girl” I said. She looked dumbfounded and said never mind. Today I had that same client as a suggested therapist. He was asking me questions while I was working on him, so I answered them After wards I was asked by Jacqueline to stay after work so she could talk to me. She told me that the client I just worked on said that I talked about way to personal things and that he was uncomfortable, and felt it was unprofessional. I started to tell her my side of the story, and she would not listen saying the customer is always right, and accusing me of calling him a liar. She also became upset and said she stuck he neck out for me and suggested me as a therapist to him. Why would someone who hates me and never schedules me anyone recommend me? And why would her neighbor come in ask me questions, and then complain? Seriously try and tell me this isn’t a set up!

This company makes a membership sounds so good. They constantly taking money out of your account for massages you don't even receive. You call them to talk to someone to cancel the membership they acting like kit can't be cancelled. They should not mistreat people this way I need my money back even if its a month or two. Something has to be DONE

Each Envy is a franchise OWNED by ONE person. Corporation has area code change to 480-272-7433. BUT, this number is no good either-it is a front because they cannot settle any complaints! And, they don't care! You need to file small claim court actions for lost money againt each owner! You need to call your bank who issues you the credit card to CLAIM A FALSE MISUSE of your card number and sign a paper with the bank saying it is a fraud charge. THE BANK WILL GIVE YOU YOUR MONEY BACK> IF NOT, CHANGE your credit card number ASAP...say it was stolen! Then these nasty ENVY locations cannot charge your accounts! Finally, FILE A POLICE CHARGE AGAINST THEM...call the police make a statement, then ask to sign it when it is ready for criminal charges against the ENVY location that messed you up! They stole your moiney...it is a crime! Gicwe the police case number to the bank to be reimbursed by the bank! Credit card companies have insurance to refund people....there are thieves everywhere. And also, good people. We all learn as we go onward who to trust.

This WILL ......... Get to MASSAGE ENVY.......just please read the PREFACE (below) Hello.......My name is Stu and I am the Second Coming of Christ (FOR REAL). And I identified President George Walker Bush Junior as the THIRD ANTICHRIST "MABUS". [The Mark of the Beast is 666] <<< Look up some of this stuff on the internet yall ! DO GOOGLE RESEARCH on This << Anyway......the FBI has been interested in me EVER since I talked to a Federal Marshal in ATLANTA in the summer of 2008 >>> and I told the Marshal that I was CHRIST and that "W" was the 3RD AntiChrist. LONG LONG story > SHORT .......I ended up living in Marin County California and I worked at Massage Envy as a Massage Therapist. During my "stay" at Massage Envy the FBI investigated me THOROUGHLY and realized that I was NOT a prostitute and that I specialized in DEEP TISSUE ! Many of the Massage Therapists at THAT location (I won't say which ones) were converted to *ON LOCATION* >>> FBI AGENTS.......and so I had SO MANY Massage Therapists ALSO investigating me as FBI Agents (impromptu agents). The Massage Envy FBI did a DAMN good job of investigating me ! I got GREAT massages with Scott and Brendan. I loved 90% of my clientel. Now GERI-ANN at the Front Desk was a TOTAL B#@^h ! And she actually engaged in workplace harassment against me (BIG TIME !) Teri E. was overbearing on a regular basis but she is a good person. The Owner of this location (franchise) was a VERY nice guy ! Some more of the female staff there.....were Bitchy towards the Massage Therapists ......and A LOT of us did NOT like That. Would they be "beatchy" towards an Acupuncturist ?? Jutta was GREAT ! Well......that's all I can think of right now. I hope that Massage Envy can deal with a grade of 3 from CHRIST. STU, S C of C

I can not get my membership fees stopped from being deducted from my bank account even after i cancelled months ago. The CORPORATE number on the site is BS and is not in service. Now its 3 months and still being deducted and the management staff at manager level in the HOOVER , MOUNTAIN BROOK location just blows ya off with no return calls or even show an ounce of customer satisfaction. What has corporate done to ensure satisfaction at locations...ZERO ! I would never use this service again and i stronly suggest others to promote the same actions. By the looks of these posts it is running rampid in the organization at all levels at this point! BBB here we come and oh yeah .....face book is another way of showing the displeasures this company can bring !

Read the contract before you sign it you idiots its all spelled out very clearly

How the hell is this place still in business??? Do NOT go to any of these locations in Richmond, VA...what a nightmare. You can't cancel a contract, which as I look back on now, I was totally a sucker to buy into but hey, you think they are a legit business. WRONGO! When I did manage to cancel, I had 5 prepaid massages left to use. I call up a little over a month later to use one and as I'm leaving, they tell me, oh you were supposed to use all of them the same day you signed your cancellation, that'll be $125 for my 75 minute massage (I was to get an hour & half). Yep, you read that right. I told them I need the manager to contact me which, they were clueless as to who that was. Finally, someone came out front from the back, and told me they'll leave a note for Lance or Novee (however u spell it) who are "supposedly" the managers. Still haven't heard from them. Again, go to salon del sol, you get a full 60 minutes of massage, professionalism and customer satisfaction, and not the 45 minutes you get with is rip off facility. Please, tell everyone you know, don't try this place, don't give your friends gift cards to this place, I guarantee, they won't be your friend after they visit this joke of a business.

I signed up at the one in Renton Washington like an idot. There massages suck, I tryied getting a refund after paying for over a year and having 10 unused massages. the only thing this place is good at doing, is robbing you blind of your money. PLEASE DONT GO HERE. OH yea dont try calling the corporate office you will have better luck reaching the Director at the CIA headquarters.

Dear Massage Envy, I received a massage from your company on June 8th 2011. I was pleased with my services so I tipped an extra five dollars, I also decided that I did want a membership but BEFORE completing the form I decided that I could not afford the membership. However, on July 6th 2011 $54.00 was withdrawn to pay for services that I NEVER gave authorization for. Now it is September and yet ANOTHER charge is now processing in the amount of $54.00 that I never approved. I never confirmed this membership nor did I confirm that it was okay for this money to be taken from my account. I do not live anywhere near a massage envy and have no plans to ever use your services again. I never approved this and I am very unsatisfied. I have every intentions of going to your corporate offices if this money is not re payed to me. This company is beyond disastrous, it absolutely apals me that your employees are this desperate to continue with a membership that I never agreed to. Sincerely, Your most disgusted upset customer

Why is the Massage Envy/Bay Colony/I-45 @ 646 Violating Federal Labor Laws & discrimination of employees???? This is the most disgusting situation. I visited the clinic with a "friend" she has a membership and goes frequently for massages. She has been asking me to "join her". I went just to see what I thought about the place. While my friend was getting her massage, I visited the "ladies room" and got an ear full. Employees did not know I was in there. My heart went out to these girls. They were upset about the consistent delay of their checks on Holidays. The checks are delayed until after the holiday. I overheard some conversation re: July 4,2011 where the checks were due 5th and 20th. So, no checks prior to July 4 weekend. One emp. was almost in tears and stated she was calling the labor board. Another young lady stated she was contacting an attorney since she had reported this situation to the Corporate headquarters and nothing is ever done. I waited until the girls left out so they would not realize a customer had overheard. I went outside and went to another business to get something to drink. I related what I had heard and the employees at that establishment and it seems some of the business around the clinic know ALL about the problems. And they do not have nice things to say about the owners of the clinic. I told my friend about the situation and that I personally would never use that place. Later in the week, my friend who has a membership about to expire, told me she had an opportunity to speak with a couple of the long time young employees and found what I had overheard was an ongoing practice. She said she will not renew her membership. I wondery WHY this is being tolerated. I did notice the many complaints on this page also.

MASSAGE ENVY....THINK TWICE!!!!!! They will be sweet in the beginning but will take every penny they can get once you sign the dotted line. I have prepaid memberships and was told I could give to family or friends if I chose to do so, however they leave info out. You must call your home location if you have moved to do the transfer and when transferring, you have to pay a 10.00 charge for the "receptionists" to click some keys on the computer to allow the transfer of one of your already paid for massages. Oh and its hell if you choose not to renew your membership.

You have a felon named Penny Schiess working for your Tampa Office on North Dale Mabry Highway and Van Dyke Road. I will not be returning for massages at this shop and will be telling my friends not to as well.

I have worked for Massage Envy for almost 4 year. I started as a Massage Therapist and was injured and unable to do massages. Lucky for me my owner allowed me to try out the sales. Over the next two years things for me have really changed for the good. I couldn't be happier to be a part of the Massage Envy brand! I now over see 3 clincis and customer service is our biggest goal. I have talked with clients that are uphappy or upset and keep in mind we are all human and make mistakes. It saddens me to read all the comments when I feel like we really bring something special to the world of massage. I could go on and on about Massage nvy and the things it has given me both in my work life and my personal life. It's an amazing place to work and I know for a fact we aren't going anywhere any time soon.. Cheers

Stay away from this establishment! Their massages are terrible and they treat their customers like garbage. I travel for a living and am someone who gets massages quite regularly when at home in Los Angeles. As a birthday gift I was monetarily treated to a 90 minute massage at this facility. My therapist Kim was recommended by the scheduler Charles, as I require deep tissue or high pressure and need intense work on my sciatic nerve. Not only was Kim unable to do anything above medium pressure, but she skipped my sciatic altogether, which was the main reason I went in for! Sufficed to say, it was one of the worst massages I've ever had. I demanded a refund and the facility refused to give it to me. They then offered to give me another massage at a cheaper rate (why?), but I had to travel the next day anyway. They finally agreed to give me a gift card good for a free one hour massage to use when I got back home to Los Angeles. When I finally did get home my local Massage Envys wouldn't take it, saying it was only good at the Shoreline store where it was issued. After a few exhausting phone calls, I was able to get the Shoreline manager to agree to call a local Massage Envy and get them to accept the gift card. The Shoreline manager was very argumentative and condescending to me. She treated me like some kind of con-artist or degenerate, when all I wanted was to use the gift card that her store gave to me, nothing more. After pleading with her enough, the manager agreed to contact my local Massage Envy (in Marina del Rey, CA.) , but never returned my calls or spoke to me again. Finally, after I called back and hassled my local Massage Envy enough, they agreed to only accept the card at its minimal value ($39) if I paid for a massage at a premium rate..so with the value of the "complimentary one hour massage gift card" issued by Massage Envy, another Massage Envy agreed to charge me $60 for a one hour massage....ABSURD. I threw the "gift card" in trash where it belongs.

To the people, like me, who have membership issues, yes we "...SIGNED A CONTRACT." However, we did so without the intention of being cheated! Any company that thinks it can hide behind legalize to cover and enforce unethical business practices, is destined to eventually fail. Massage Envy has a real opportunity, (provided by the respondents of this forum) to identify and eliminate the horrible injustices involving customer memberships. Massage Envy is a wonderful concept; affordable and convenient massage. Unless something is done to correct the serious issues cited in this forum, this wonderful concept will implode and fail, amongst a litany of dissatisfied customers and lawsuits. This company should work to revise its membership agreement and establish stronger corporate governance with its Franchisees, particularly with respect to improving customer service and creating fairer customer contracts. I have canceled my family's annual memberships (4 total)as a result of poor services: sessions were less than the full hour, sessions were late starting, managers were not empowered to resolve customer issues; follow up by managers seldom occurs; prepaid sessions SHOULD ALWAYS BE REDEEMABLE, EVEN AFTER CANCELATION! Massage Envy your company is broken - please fix it!

I have a membership at Massage Envy Sherman Oaks and I decided to cancel it after a year of automatic deduction from my credit card because I lost my job. I was told I have to use the remaining 13 massages in 30 days, but they are going to give me an expiration date on when it is going to be. I was told that the manager was going to call me. I didnt get a call from the manager. I received a call the other day telling me that my credit card was declined and they would like another form of payment, i told them that I had canceled my membership. They said they cant cancel it unless i make that one last payment. So, i gave them a credit card no for the transaction. I asked the person when my memberhsip expires, i was told it will expire in 5 days. I asked her how that could be when they were supposed to call me and notify me when and the fact that they just deducted the last payment off my credit card today, i should get 30 days to use up my 13 massages. I called today for the manager and I spoke to Kimmie the receptionist and she was very rude! She said i onlly have 5 days to use up my 13 massages and that the manager is very busy to make calls. They are very unprofessional. I want my money back!!! thats 500 dollars. They are a bunch of scammers!!!!
