Do you have a rating for "below poor" ? I can't even contact Macy's to solve a credit issue !! I get India ! Is Macy's in India ? For $11.00 India keeps calling me with a recording saying " please wait for next available representative for an important message" ...no mention of who it is ...I should wait ? They want me to pay my $11.00 "past due ? credit charge , over the phone .....with a CREDIT CARD !! REALLY ?? you idiots have spent more than $11.00 in phone calls ! I have had a Macy's card for as long as I can remember ...this is insanity at it's best. I will pay balance and be done with them . Go have a parade.

I purchased over 100.00 in womens cologne, and mens aftershave, I live in an area where Macy's is the nearest department store in 100 miles, I have always shopped there for hi end products, I made a purchase on Monday 9-27-10 as I said well over 100.00 put on my credit card, in the past I have always received samples, gifts etc. Wow I received a small tube of mascara!! needless to say if this is the way your doing business in the future, then you will not have me as a customer anymore, that was a really cheap shot, I think the woman who waited on me should have made some kind of provision..........besides telling me we are all out of estee lauder gifts, When I asked about other promotions, she said oh no we can't do that. I will find another store that carries these products sincerely Paula Taylor-Crowe p.o. box 1618 Tuolumne city, ca. 95379

Wow after reading all this stuff, I can see why ( even with all those gollywood idots in your commercials) People are not shopping at your store, instead of paying thru the teeth for all these big wigs to advertise your store, why do you not just get it togeather and make your store better.....My experience lately is shameful, and your stores are overstocked with smelly crap from china and who knows where.P-U I can smell it in your store. just like in the cheaper priced stores. what a joke, and your asking twice the price LOL good luck..............

In the conversion from Macy's VISA to American Express (AMEX) the processes have been very poor. My VISA expired 9/30. I contacted Macy's on 9/13 and 9/20 with no response, then again on 9/21 and on 9/22 received a response apologizing for the delay due to a high volume of emails. On 9/22, I contacted the on-line chat who said a new AMEX card had been sent previously and should have been received so treated it as lost/stolen, which caused my existing VISA to close. Approximately 4 other customer service (CS) representatives were contacted in trying to resolve the issue, all of whom stated a new AMEX was issued on 9/24. On 10/2, a new VISA was received, so another inquiry was sent. On 10/3, CS stated a new AMEX was issued on 10/1 and would arrive in 10-14 business days. I sent an inquiry on that day and have not heard back until today, 10/5. The CS rep. stated that a new card was not issued on 10/1 and it appears the new VISA was issued in error. A supervisor is now handling and they hope to issue a new AMEX in 1-2 days. I was issued $15 credit on both my store and AMEX account and the due dates were suspended as I have been unable to pay not knowing the new accounts. In the meantime, businesses with whom I have automatic payments through my credit cards have been contacting me. The experience has been extremely frustrating and the processes very broken in this transition.

Customer Service located in India is one of the worst. I have tried several times to just change my last name at the local store....no one had a clue how to do it. Then I emailed and was told to call customer service. Then I called, ended up in India with a bad connection, then transferred to a supervisor with another bad connection. Now I am cancelling my account that I have had for 31 years.

Nice work Macy's, I held a credit card with Hudson's in Michigan since 1974. A couple of yrs ago they went out of business and Macys took over. I had a $6000.00 credit limit with Retailers National Bank (Hudsons) Macys gave me a credit limit of 1500.00. Yesterday I tried to make a purchase, my credit card was refused. After I insisted on speaking to the credit dept, they stated I was way over my credit limit. I immediately used another card. All night this bothered me, I actually couldnt sleep. Today first thing in the morning I called Macys and spoke with a customer service rep. Apparently my credit limit was now reduced to $150.00. What can you buy for $150.00 ? When I asked why she stated that in Sept. 09 I missed a payment. Hmm, I have no record of that, I pay on line and never saw a late payment. When I asked why I was not informed that my credit limit was lowered she stated they didnt have to. ???? She stated I signed an agreement with them, preventing them from informing me whether they lower or increase your credit limit. News Flash : I never signed an agreement with Macys. I opened a card in 1974 with Hudsons. A new bill was passed by congress helping avoid these types of practices from credit card companies .........Macy's You havent heard the last of me, I will let everyone I know and will continue to write on the internet the way you handle your customers.

I have cancelled my credit account and will no longer shop at Macys. As a good longstanding customer I was assessed a late fee due to an error with online bill payment. Your customer service representative would not adjust the fee. Loosing a customer does not fall within your Policies/Positions; We will provide quality and value to our customers in all dealings. Macy's had a good reputation for years. I asked to change a billing date and was not informed of any additional payments. Normally, due on the 22nd, but we needed them changed because of pay period. They charged for for the month I owed, plus the following on the 7th. We were put in a financial bind and managment could do nothing at the store. What a shame, better to lose customers. Also, applied for a position there again. I had been with them for 3 yrs on-call, now we have new rules, you must work at nite one day a month. I have explained I do not see well at nite period. I received a rejection, did not consider my work ethics, etc. How sad, you would rather hire someone playing with cellphones.

Ordered an outfit online. Wrong item sent. Charged delivery cost to me. Called and the operator said go to the store to return and she will take the delivery charge off. Went to the store sales person said she cannot take delivery charge off. They sent the wrong item and sales person was not concerned with it was their fault. Tried to reach you, unable due to your representatives not transferring a manager in the US to talk to. Called corporate office in Ohio. Call to corporate office, being transferred, then a message unable to connect me, please leave name phone etc. I hung up. This entire process took over 20 minutes of very frustrating, time consuming, and extremely disappointing experience with your company. One, will never order on line again. Two, will most likely cancel my charge card, Three you are not a store to shop at. Times are bad, you need to review your call center procedures or you will lose a lot of business.

I have been harassed, threatened, and lied to by Macy's bill collectors. I was also charged twice, one of my payments was not recorded, and unless I had asked to speak to a manager, I might not have ever known that they had actually received 2 payments. They only "found" the other payment after I gave them the confirmation number of my most recent payment. Either this collection company planned to keep my extra payment, or intentionally did not record it for any unknown reasons. I am one of Macy's "preferred customers", and have had an account with them for 25 years. In June I had a credit of $2.65. I received an e-bill in July that I owed $42.33 which was due July 13. I was in graduate school at the time and the bill slipped my mind. I received another e-bill on August 13 that said I owed $97.58. On or around August 16, I began receiving phone calls on the weekends at 0800 and at night from Macy's saying I owed $126.00 (yes, it was a different amount than my e-bill said). I was also told that my account was "two months overdue and you have been reported to the credit bureau." I denied that my account was 2 months overdue -- I had only missed the July payment, and I had paid within 1 week of the August bill being due. They argued with me and insisted my account was 70 days overdue! Under duress, I paid $126.00 by e-bill even though my on-line statement said I owed only $97.85. The collectors' phone calls kept coming for 2 weeks! I told them to stop calling me, but they did not. Yesterday I checked my e-bill and it said I owed $97.85. I paid once again by e-mail because the previous $126.00 did not show, and I thought perhaps it had not gone through (I had been too upset that time to write down the confirmation number.) Last night a woman called asking for money. She spoke to my husband, who told her the bill was paid and for her to stop calling. Tonight she called again. I told her I paid and she said they had not received it. She also said that I now owed $128.00 because there were extra fees. I said I paid $97.85 last night! I asked to speak to her manager. After a few minutes on the line, when I gave her the confirmation number from my payment last night, the manager "found" my payment of $126.00 She said a) I had NOT been reported to the credit bureau (so that had been a harrassment -- a lie), b) she found that actually I HAD paid $128.00 2 weeks ago -- but it had not been credited to my account, and c) there were now $45.00 in extra (unnecessary) fees. I told her I wanted the fees refunded, and I wanted a refund check, not a credit at Macy's. The woman, Juanita, said she would personally take care of it and have a check sent to me within 7-10 days. We'll see.

After reporting to the lost and found (no one answered phone so I left a message with a complete description of the glasses and my name and phone number), in Macys Garden State Plaza that I forgot my pair of bebe sunglasses in the dressing room next to the levis dept. I received a message from an employee stating that the glasses were found and I could retrive them at the Executive Office's on the lower level. When I arrived and asked to have my property back, the employee looked but could not find them, I played the message that was left on my cell phone, which verified that my glasses were in the possesion of Macy's, and was told that I would be called back when they were located. I waited from Wednesday until Friday but no body from Macy's called me back so I recalled Macy's on Friday morning, after several times of being cut off I spoke with an employee in the Executive Office and explained the situation again and she said that some one would get back to me. A message was left on my cell phone on Friday evening that they were no longer able to locate my sunglasses. I will be in the store this week to file a police report.

I have been a Macy's cardholder for probably 20 years - previously Burdines here in Florida. I have paid it off a number of times and had a zero balance for many months until about 6 weeks ago when I charged approx. $68. Due to being unemployed, I missed the payment last month but had planned to just pay it off this month within the next few days. I have received at least 15 phone calls over the past 5 days - including this Labor Day weekend - no messages left, just a telephone number. I managed to answer it a couple of times, was placed on hold for so long until I finally hung up, still not knowing who was trying to reach me. This morning I finally waited long enought and sure enough, it was Macy's wanting to know where my payment was. . . IT IT LABOR DAY! I am in disbelief that they would harrass a long standing customer these many days including a long holiday weekend for $70! I could understand if I had missed two payments but this is just a few days past 30 days. I plan to write the corporate office and as soon as the payment is made, I will cut up my card. Macy's has NOTHING that I cannot purchase somewhere else and most likely at a lesser cost. I actually find some nicer, more organized items at Kohl's and you cannot beat their superb customer service.

I have been a credit card holder of Macys for over 15 years. I made my payment late by one day in all of those years and they now made my payment go from 52.00 to 97.00. I tried to explain to their customer service department which I find very frustrating that they are in India when so many people here are out of work. They would not budge to let my payment go back to the normal 52.00. You would think with all the people out of work and such hard times that they would work with you so they can continue to get their money and I could continue to pay my bill.

I had thought that Macy's would be the kind of company to stand behind their product, so when I needed a new sofa sleeper, I didn't hesitate to shop there. TO make a long story short, I bought a sofa sleeper 3 years ago. My 11-year-old daughter slept on it one night, and the mechanism that holds the mattress in place snapped! When we tried to put the mattress back in the frame, it got stuck and won't go back in. That was June 1. I have been around and around with customer service. It took them 3 weeks just to get somebody over here to inspect it (and we live in Manhattan!) I'm still waiting for the part to fix it. Today is August 12. The customer service rep even had the nerve to tell me that the sofa wasn't under manufacturer's warranty anymore (he was incorrect). I had even spent an extra $110 for the extended warranty, and they won't pay for the plastic piping which is already coming out of the sofa. This piece of furniture has not been abused in any way. I AM PISSED. I just got my monthly statement from them, and even THAT sucks! It doesn't show my credit limit (probably because they change it every other week) and if you pay online, it's hard to find the place to change the date of payment. Needless to say, I hate Macy's and definitely will not be making any major purchases there - if something is available elsewhere, I will go elsewhere. Don't they realize what the economy is like? Can they afford to lose customers???

Great information. Good company! They work well with people. I had a vase that had a crack in it before bought it and i didn't know it until a week or so. I took it back and they gave me another with no problem. Thanks Macey. :)

My account is paid in full and still you send a debt collector after me? After reading all of the above, why am I not surprised.

I wanted to share a store that was beyond rude and a store that was beyond helpful. I spent a good part of today calling stores around the county looking for a particular suit. When calling Macy's Landmark, 5701 Duke Street, Alexandria, VA 22304, 703-354-1900 I spoke with sales associate Nana (I barely got her name as she was so rude) and her manager Denise (she would not give me last names). They were the only store out of 6 phone calls that actually had the suit, however, it was $50 more than every other store. They would not honor the price unless I faxed them a receipt which I did not have. I continued to tell them I could call the other stores or THEY could out of customer service. They continued to tell me to fax a receipt. I asked to speak with Denise, the manager and Nana told me she was busy, then went home for the day. It continued in this manner. Ridiculous. On the other hand, I called Macy's Peachtree Mall, 3091 Manchester Expressway, Columbus, GA 31904, 706-478-2300 and spoke to Tawana Williams. She took extra steps that other stores did not. During my research I was disconnected several times. Before she went to go look for the suit, she asked for my phone number just in case we get disconnected. This is just one example of her great customer service.

Today, I was shopping at the garden state mall where i was browsing in macys. I came to a rack which said 65% off and when i took the four shirts to the register I was not honored the discount. Macys was miss leading there customers which, is compeletly wrong. If the discount is on the rack they are suppose to honor it. Once, the manager told us no they can not honor us the discount they did not worry about the sign which was left out. Poor service which is unacceptable.

Turn the music down!!! Not all your customers are 22! I had planned to spend at least 2 hours in your store, but the music sent me out in 15 minutes.
