I was at Macy's Denton Texas trying to make a purchase. I had been in earlier had bought quite a few items. The one item I had bought was so cute I went back to buy another. I went in at the bedding dept so I was trying to check out there. I saw the 1 cashier was busy so I started to walk towards children's to check out. I then saw she was back at the registers so I turned around. She had just picked up the phone so I quietly asked which register was she at. She flipped her hand at me said I'm helping another customer. I only had 1 item, all that was necessary was to ask nicely if I would mind going to another register but she didn't. I was so insulted I laid the item down said then you can return it. I started to leave and decided to talk to a manager, went to the children's dept. ask where to find a manager was told they are All out to lunch. Would they have all been to lunch if I was robbing the place? I was really upset that a manager was not available. I shopped there quite frequently. I will go elsewhere from now on. Dillard's now has my business. What ever happened to customer service? This was all around 3:30 P.M. 11/22/10 I went home tried to call and speak to a manager, leave a message so here is my message. No resolve, you do not want my business I get the hint!!!

first time I have shopped Macy's since take over from Field's and it will be my last. Staff is rude and managers are just as rude. Customer service out of India HORRIBLE I don't know how you people stay in business. Incidentally your rating as far as I am concerned is a -0.

I wish there was a rating lower than 1 star Macy's has the poorest customer service of any store I have ever shopped in. Forst , must we speak to someone in India who does not speak clearly so we can understand. I constantly had to have him repeat what he was saying, what a waste of time. Rude,impossible to to understand. I had a Macy'sVisa Macy cardlost. I reported it and got a new one. I went to use my new card in Macy's and was declined I was told very rudley i had bad credit due to not paying my 39.00 bill. I never got a bill only a new one and assumed any balance was transferred. Those payment have been made on a timely fashion I have lost cards before and all balances were brought forward and combined. I never got a bill or call about this old balanceFor this they nput me in collection. I willnever shop in Macy's again and have shared this experience with man y coworkers and they have agreed with me inexcusable behavior and frustation with not dealing with some one From THE USA and MAcy's

I've been a 20+ year Macys customer. NO MORE. The customer service at Macys.com is amongst the worst I've experienced and completely unacceptable. Over the last 2 years I've purchased my sofa, loveseat, chair, chandeliers, comforters, handbags, shoes, clothes, make-up, etc.. No more!! Live chat is non-existant. Why offer it, if no one is there to respond to customers? Why does it take HOURS, YES HOURS to get a price adjustment? A price adjustment that is legitimately due back the customer? I believe you intentionally make it so difficult, so people give up trying to get price adjustments. More money in Macys pocket. That's dishonest in my opinion. In this economy, if this is how little you value my business, I'll take my business elsewhere. I tried contacting Terry Lundgren/President of Macys as well as Kent Anderson/President of Macys.com and they don't talk to customers. How convenient and cowardly. Word of advice to both of them, talk to a few customers on occasion, maybe you can improve things. I am contacting the Better Business Bureau.

I am writing this to let you know that their is an Specialist who makes it hard for people to work in the Marys GNM, Clay, NY. Management has since had a meeting with a group of girls to resolve, but it hasn't. This made even harder made it worse to deal with. This Specialist even posts mean things on Facebook about other Associates in the workplace. There are associates who just hang out and talk about associates when they are near by, not helping the customers that need assistance. Not only that, How do you address a Security Guard that dates 17-19-year old girls (associates)in the work place and everybody knows it. But, doesn't say a thing! There are support teams that take people off the registers so they cant meet their goals when they were high in goals and made it within a month of being there to make there points for goals go down to make it look bad on their score card at the end of the week. Something has to be done about this or there will be more Associates quitting than wanting to work for Macy's in general.

I would like to share my story about problem I am facing after I purchased a mattress from MACYS. To make it short....After using a mattress for a while, I found that it was defective. I paid about $2000.00 after 50% off sale, and after having technician avaluated that mattress need to be exchanged, I founf out that store exchanging only the mattress not a box, and exchanging on a much cheaper brand because what I have is being discontinue....The store has my credit for $1627, and the price of the set (box and mattress) is $1619.00 but they refused to replace my existinf mattress with the same looking set and recalculate my loan. I have to continue to pay another $350-370.00 dollars left to pay off my existinf set. I will try to contact the headquarters and see if they can help me but so far, my Florida's customer service just kicked my behind. Thank you Macys for a "great customer service"!!!!

Macy's is a nightmare to end all nightmares, they are making mistakes constantly, all we have to deal with are people in India, we, the people are letting the U.S go to the dogs. Too many Welfare Checks and Unemployment checks being given out, our government loves keeping the people down otherwise we would have Americans working at Macy's not people from India. Get smart people, Macy's is a disgrace. They make it impossible to work with them. It is a company that cheats everyone of us. Stop shopping at Macy's and don't watch the "Macy Day Parade" let them file for bankruptcy. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Extremely poor customer service beginning with an error to my address which resulted in not receiving Macy's card or statement; horrible experience with their call center "customer service", overseas associate could not understand me nor I him, "Eric" insisted on getting my SS # then immediately told me he could not assist me; online return to local store, associate did not apply return credit to my account, saying everything would be done "internally". Bottomline - Will NEVER do business with Macy's again. Extremely unprofessional conduct on behalf of their associates, especially their outsourced "customer service" which is no service at all!

I am writing to inform customers of yours the customer service issues that I have had with your company. I have been calling for over a month to resolve an account that has been sent to a collection company back in 2008, however no one wants to discuss to with me the account or payment options. When I ask for a manager they tell me the manager doesnt take calls. I find that really hard to believe. The economy is bad, people are losing jobs and going bankrupt and you dont want to talk to someone who wants to pay. That is poor planing on your part as a company. I will never ever for as long as I live walk into a Macys or allow any of my family to go in there and shop while in my presents. Good luck to your company eventually your doors will shut due to poor management.

Why must you put your customer service dept in India. It has to be the worst experience I have ever had. Your store employees are wonderful so why do you want to lose your business by handing American jobs to India. Not very good business sense. I don't shop at Walmart because of their business practices and I certainly can live without Macy's.

Hello, I feel just like Jennifer from Texas. My experience with the credit dept from India was horrific. However when I called the corporate office and spoke with Teryl Pendergrass , it was a lovely experience and she renewed my faith in good customer service. Macy's it's time to make some changes and re-consider moving your credit dept to the US again. I think you can get great customer service employees for a fare price. All I can say is Macy's SUCK and they can take it in the face. I have never been late but this 1 time due to me being out of town. I was only 4 days late paying my bill. Well I was in for a rude awakening when I went to make some purchases and my card was declined. I had to wait until today until I spoke with someone in the credit department, I was informed by the first rep that my credit limit was decreased due to my credit rating. I did not understand this when I just recv'd another credit card from another bank. I told her that was wrong and I did not give anyone permission to even run my credit. The rep transferred me to another rep and he stated that my credit limit was decreased due to my late payment. ARE YOU SERIOUS.....was my response! I immediately asked to speak with a manager and can you believe it was true!!!! The decreased my credit limit by $100 due to my late payment Ummm let me be specific 4 DAY LATE PAYMENT. Once I pay my balance I will be CLOSING my account with them. They are the worst and I will not step foot into Macy's again!!!!! My advice to anyone that has a card with them-DON'T BE LATE OR YOU WILL BE SUBJECT TO A DECREASE!!! The manager I spoke with had pride in saying that they have no problem in decreasing your credit limit and closing accounts without notification. So I will end this the way I began-MACY'S SUCK AND THEY CAN TAKE IT IN THE FACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where are the negative stars? A -5* would be more appropriate for what I just went through in trying to contact a sales representative at the Cambridge Massachusetts store this evening. My loyalty to Macy's has ceased after this evenings ordeal. Spread the word and cancel your credit card account with Macy's!

My daughter recently graduated from college and is, like many others, unemployed. I pay her Macy's charge the first of every month. When Macy's changed to AmEx from Visa, the website would not allow me to make the regularly scheduled payment by saying the site was unavailable and I needed to wait as it would take a few days. Mind you that these payments are ALWAYS made well before payment is due. They charged my unemployed daughter $27 late fee and would not accept that it was their fault that their website was not available. I am no longer a Macy's customer. I'd rather shop WalMart than spend my money there! We are focused on paying off this bill and spreading the word to everyone we know to never shop there. I can see from the other postings on this page that I am not the only customer they'll be losing! I hope they go under or at least pull out of Indianapolis! We don't want this kind of store in our malls!!

Absolutely the worst and rudest customer service department ever!!!Someone needs to put them out of business...I have a Macys account opened in 2000 and just recently used it a few months ago since the last time I used it, which was 3 years ago. Well, I received a phone call today from the Macys collections department stating my account was past due. The reason being, they had my wrong address in their system, therefore I haven't been receiving the statements. There was over $100 in finance and late fees. I had no problem paying what I owed minus the finance and late fees. The supervisor indicated that she could not undue the finance and late charges because she did not have the original statements returned back to Macys indicating wrong address on them. I asked to speak to the next level of management which would be corporate office. She stated the only method of communicating with them is via fax, and no phone to speak to anyone. She stated I was still responsible for all the fees and in the meantime I could fax them a letter asking them to wave the fees. What happened to customer satisfaction!!! Your supposed to work with the customer!!! They difinately lost my business and added more bad publicity for themselves!!!

Today I had to call and change my last name on my Macy's account because I got married. I am so glad I did I found out they dropped my credit limit to $100! What can you buy at Macy's for $100??? I would never have known that if I hadn't called. I would have been horrified if I would have tried to use my card at the store and get declined. It is ridiculous they should put what your available credit is on your bill or something. I always have my bill paid and for them to drop my limit really pisses me off. I don't plan on shopping at Macys anymore. Also their customer service is sooooo rude and excuse my language SMART ASSES! I will never recommend anyone to their store if anything I will tell people not to go there! I had a couple weeks ago, the worst shopping experience ever. I was at Macy's in Saugus- MA, and I was really interest about a diamond necklace to give my wife, but to be honest I had no idea how much it was. So, I had a sales associate helping me out to get the best necklace, when I asked her the price she said that was seven thousand dollars, and I said Oh Tha's it? She said = Oh I don't know what you do for living, but... Do you sell drugs? I got deeply surprised with her talk and the way she was trying to make it funny. After she kept asking me if I could give her also a diamond necklace. I felt insulted, horrified, I have no words to described the way I fell. What really makes me surprised was the fact that she was speaking to another associate and I found out that she was the department manager. I never saw a manager acting like that! That absolutely not correspond with what Macy's represent!! CEO or whatever it is their job should be doing something about it! I will never go back Fine Jewelry on that Macy's.

I had my Macy's card for over 5 years and not a single late payment!! I bought a house and moved. I also changed my address with the billing department. However, I did not get my bill in time via mail! So I called them to ask about my bill.... they told me that it was due the day before and that i had a 30 dollars late charge!!! 5 years of perfect payments and they would take only 15 dollars off??? and they are the ones who made the mistake and didn't send the bill to the right address in the first place!! I talked to the supervisor who was even more rude than the person who took my call originally. They told me "there is nothing that they can do about it"!! Are you serious?? I have worked in the upper management long enough to know that there is ALWAYS something that they can do to solve the client's problem. and keep the client happy. I paid my bill in full and canceled my card. NEVER again will I shop from Macy's!! Stay with Nordstom! Much classier and much more helpful!oh by the way macy's is still sending me their flyer. though I have called and asked to be removed 2 times already!! God how many more times do I need to call and ask them to unsubscribe me from their mailing list?! So much for being "outstanding"!

Hello there, I don't know who to address this to but am hoping someone will listen. I have put it off for a while but I really needed to purchase a few outfits. I will be attending a wedding this month and then am scheduled to fly to Ohio for a neurosurgery consult at the Cleveland Clinic. I have some items in my online shopping cart and have been watching the newspaper and my emails for coupons and discounts. It has been some time since I received the discounts or flyers that I used to get in the mail. The items in my cart add up to almost $200 without shipping and the promos I have seen lately are item specific and don't apply to anything I had in my online shopping cart. I called the customer service line yesterday to inquire if any coupons or mailers were going out anytime soon. The gentleman told me that my spending was too low and as a result, I won't get coupons because I hadn't spent enough money. He made a suggestion and, as close to verbatim as I can recall, told me, "I suggest you should spend more money if you want to receive coupons." I would love to spend more money, I really would and I would love to spend it at Macy's and buy new Hotel Collection bedding for my comfortable recovery from brain surgery and I will spend more money when I am able to work 12 hour shifts again at the hospital and all I wanted was a coupon and even after I talked to a second gentleman, no one could give me a lousy 25% off coupon because I didn't spend enough money at Macy's. That is all I wanted and just called to find out if any were going to be in the mail and customer service made me want to close my account and never shop Macy's again. Were they making that up? I was told I needed to spend $500 a month to get coupons and the second gentleman I spoke with told me that. He also told me he was going to put in a request for me to get a coupon in the mail, but he was not sure if the request would be approved. I don't understand this and it would be more of a "reward" to me to just receive coupons and not be punished for not spending enough money. That's all. I'm not sure who's pile this will end up in but thank you very much for taking the time to read this and I apologize for my rant but I never had to ask for a coupon before , let alone be made to feel like I didn't deserve one.
