On March 30th, 2012, I was in Las Vegas for a convention and was very excited to find a Joe's Crab Shack there. There were 3 of us for dinner, 2 of us ordered a Lobster pot with crab legs. The lobster was so tough we couldn't cut it let alone chew it. I told my server (whom by the way was wonderful). He got the manager and I had to explain to her again about the Lobster being so tough. She just stood there for a minute and then asked if she could replace it with crab legs. We said yes. She then brought out one small cluster of snow crab to each of us, mine only had 2 legs & no claw. I was NOT happy. Tired of complaining, we ate our dinner thinking our bill would be adjusted since we did not eat Lobster. The bill came it was 79.63 and was not adjusted. I tipped my server 16.00 and left mad as hell. I paid an extra 10.00 each for Lobster we did not get to eat. Our Lobster pots were 39.00 each and crab pots were 29.00. This is no way to keep people coming back. Andre' Torres - Sioux City, Iowa.

Disgruntled employee 4/7/12
I would never suggest anyone to eat at the joes crab shack in Memphis, TN. There is a blatant disregard for customer and employee happiness alike by the managerial staff, not to mention the substance abuse by the so-called flex managers. The unequal treatment of the wait staf and host staff is uncalled for and desperately needs to be addressed. The lack of employee satisfaction directly affects the customers and is tarnishing the restaurant's reputation. Please DO NOT give them any business.

We went to Joe's in Omaha, NE on opening day. I was so excited I had barely eatten all day. After waiting almost an hour for food (which was fine there was 6 of us) I had lost my appetite. One of my crawfish still had a whole bunch of eggs connected to it.. I waited a minute and tried to eat another one. I got the next one open and there were more eggs in that one. I eat crawfish all the time and I have NEVER had eggs on them. The server asked if I wanted a box I told her I had lost my appetite and she said she would bring her manager over. The manager came over asked what was wrong and when I showed him he just shrugged his shoulders and said that happens sometimes sorry. I asked if they rinsed or purged the crawfish before cooking and he said no. He asked about 3 times if I wanted another steampot. Why would I wait longer for something I'm not hungry for. Eventually he just walked away. He did take it off from the bill, but it definately was handled the right way. Being in the restaurant business for 7 years, I give some credit to the server. She was very nice and the reason I give 2 stars.

Where do I begin...this evening my husband and I and two young children experienced THE WORST restaraunt experience in Oceanside, CA at Joes Crab Shack. This was the absolute worst in our lives. Truely disappointing and esp since we are staying at a neighboring hotel and went to Joes to celebrate my husbands birthday tonight. After one of our best family days of our lives, it ended in utter disrespect and disappointment. After placing our orders, we patiently waited an hour and half for our meals, but eventually we didnt get acknowledged again after my 4 yo son received his milk. There were several mishaps that I wont detail, but all throughout we waited patiently and kept our hungry and tired children distracted. A waitress finally came over and said "a manager is coming to talk to you guys." She walked away. A manager never came. Thats when we knew our food had never been cooked yet. We finally decided to leave, but spoke to a manager about our exprience on our way out, and he was arrogant and could have cared less. We left with our children crying and my husband upset he was made a fool of on his birthday with his family. Never again.

So when is it the sever's job to wash dishes??? It's ok to work as a team and help each other (busing tables, seating customers, sweaping floor, sing, dance, run food) but to have a pile off dishes in the kitchen and no place to put your dirty ones. Then the manager tells you to run food to a table! Gross no time to wash your hands. Get this, Sunday thru Thursday their is no dish washer! So the server's are told before they can leave for the night they have to wash some dishes. I heard the manager tell the kitchen guy to go home. He said what about the dishes? The manager said the server's will do them. So much for the PRIDE they teach you in training...Passion, Respect, Integrity, Determination, Excellence..... As long as the Manager saves a buck on their payroll at the end of the month. Those poor kids working so hard to make a dollar and serve the customer. Just to get chewed-out for not taking care of their tables, because they are too busy doing dishes. Plus those kids could be your kids and they won't speak-up because they can lose their job! So I'm speaking for them!! Oh, and about the butter, it's not the server's mistake. Take that up with the corporate office, that's their new policy (no butter, only on customer request). A crab pot served with potatoes and corn but NO BUTTER! They got the SHACK part correct!

My experience at Joe's Crab Shack in Memphis, Tennessee (Wolfchase/Cordova area) was beyond poor. I arrived at the restaurant in a very pleasant mood. When I left I felt as if I was discriminated against due to my age and race. I am not using age and race as an excuse to complain. I KNOW because of my age and race, the manager, waitress and the rest of the staff took my complaint with a grain of salt. I did not enjoy the drinks, food, or service AT ALL. In my opinion, it seemed as if very little effort was put into making my experience as a customer pleasant. My husband and I went to Joe's Crab Shack on 03/15/12 with the intentions of enjoying each other's company over a bucket of crab legs. We were greeted by an unenthusiastic hostess. She showed us over to our table which was seated right in front of a bussing station. Our waitress, Becca, greeted us at our table immediately with our menus. First, we ordered simple fountain drinks. We ordered water and Coke. We both noticed that the drinks were too tart and bitter. My water tasted as if there was still soap left over in the glass. Ignoring this, I ordered a milkshake. I was thrown aback when I took a sip of my shake to find that there were ice chunks in it. To me, this suggested that the ice cream was old and frostbitten. My husband and I decided to order the King Crab Bucket along with a burger. Also, Becca failed to check on us to be sure that we were not in need of anything. When the food arrived I noticed how small the so-called King Crab legs were. I would have been better off ordering the Snow Crab legs. I noticed that Becca only brought us one 1oz serving of melted butter. When she asked if we needed anything else, I simply said "Could I have some more butter, please". Becca responded by saying, "Well, I will bring you more butter as you eat. Is there anything else I can get you?" I asked for butter one more time so that she and I could have an understanding of the fact that I wanted more butter. I was not rude to her at all but Becca became rude with me. She said to me in a very condescending and sarcastic tone "So, you want me to go and get you more butter so that it can sit up and get cold? Okay!" When Becca said this to me I could not believe my ears. I expressed my concern about Becca through conversing with my husband. The same young lady that showed us to our seats was bussing a table next to us at the time. It was obvious that the young lady shared what she heard with her co-workers and the assistant manager of the establishment, Ronnie Cannon. Mr. Cannon came to our table five minutes after the conversation between my husband and I had ended. I noticed that he only came to our table; he did not give the same attention to the other families in the restaurant. Mr. Cannon asked us "Is everything O.k."? I could tell through his body language that he could care less about our experience. From what I could tell, he only came to our table to cover his own back. I told him "No, everything is not o.k. our waitress was very rude to me. Her attitude is not right for customer service. I will be writing a letter to the corporate office about our experience here. I do not wish to tell you the specifics of why I am upset because I believe that you have already formed and opinion about us and you will not discount me as an irate customer who is trying to receive a free meal." He walked away to go and investigate the problem. While he was gone, Becca and her co-workers were eavesdropping on our conversation. Becca and the other employees were listening in on us from the bus station that just so happened to be RIGHT BEHIND THE BOOTH WE WERE SITTING IN. The restaurant was not very noisy, so it was very unwise and unprofessional for them to make disrespectful comments about our conversation. What made the situation even more worse is the fact that they were trying to whisper. While we were eating, Becca came back over to out table to check on us. My husband told her we were fine. She left with a chuckle and a grin approaching her co-workers so that they could continue to ridicule us. In an effort to be sure about their eavesdropping, I said to my husband, “These employees are eavesdropping in on our conversation. And just so they know, just like they can hear everything that we are saying, I can hear everything that they are saying." A few moments afterwards, Becca approached our table. Her entire demeanor had changed. She seemed more humble. Right after she left, Mr. Cannon approached our table once again. He apologized and I know that he was not sincere about it. During his apology he had a smug grin on his face that he was trying to hide. I could tell that he did not take me seriously. JOE'S CRAB SHACK IN CORDOVA, TENNESSEE IS WORTHLESS. I have worked in customer service all of my life. I have never experience food or customer service that was this bad. IF YOU LIVE IN MEMPHIS, TN, DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE BECAUSE IT IS SO NOT WORTH IT. IT WAS SO BAD THAT THE CHICK-FIL-A DOWN THE STRET PROVED TO BE MORE SATISFYING. $10.00 dollars versus $50.00 and Chick-Fil-A has never let me down. Maybe Joe's should take a lesson from them.

I will never go back to Joe's Crab Shack (Wolfchase ~ Mphs, Tn) My husband & I were enjoying our dinner and about 10 minutes into our meal they seated a table of 4 right behind us. They were so loud & obnoxious also saying a few words of profanity.
Both tables had the same waitress. Her name was Taylor Hopper. She was the sweetest little girl I've ever had wait on me before and I'm 62 years old. The table seated behind us gave her such a hard time over everything she did. They were very loud as I stated before so we heard every word that was said. One girl even stated "I bet we will get this meal free since we complained so much" 2 days after my visit to Joe's we saw a piece on the local news about a couple going from restaurant to restaurant complaining about service just to get free meals. That made me feel more sorry for the little girl who waited on us. I only knew her first name while dining so I called Joes to get her last name. They informed me it was Hopper and her first name is Kaitlyn but she goes by her middle name(Taylor). I told the store i wanted to give her a compliment. I am assuming it was her manager (name~JT) yelled at her in front of her coworkers and customers dining. Told her she was stupid & just to stay away from that table (the table being so loud)(the ones who came out to ententionally dine for free food) This company needs serious work on how to run a sucessful business, A little rescpect for the employees & alot more customer service skills. I hope the poor little waitress (Taylor) will realize she deserves a better job than the one at Joe's. RESPECT ~ GIVE IT & YOU WILL GET IT!!!

Food is good, service is also good...where my son in law is the GM anyway....have never seen a more motivated, roll up your sleeves and wash dishes if you have to, type of guy... however, you folks are screwing him around with the bonuses he was promised when he signed up. Is this any way to keep good, faithful employees?? I think not...he's going to start looking...your loss

I'm giving Joes a ZERO rating and here is why!
First of all we've been to this particular location many times in the past usually only for special occasions due to the fact we live in Murrieta. We have had great food there and not so great food. We have had great service there and not so great service.
BUT tonight, was the absolutely first time we have been treated so freaking poorly that I will NEVER go back again!
So here’s how the night started . . .
We showed up a little after 8 p.m. there was a girl downstairs which we’ve only seen a few times in the past, usually means they are really busy. Instead of asking for our name she asked for our cell number. After my husband gave her the number I asked her if this meant they would be calling us to let us know our table was ready. She said no, we will text you. Well my husband and I looked at each other, laughed and at the same time told we do not text. She, looking all surprised erases the number and says, “oh, well then we will announce your name over the intercom, will be about 20 minutes.”
We go upstairs, find a place at the bar and order a couple drinks. We were laughing over the text thing and I made the comment to my husband, “you watch, some day were going to walk in a restaurant, they will ask for text number, will say sorry don’t have one, they will say, sorry you’re not welcome here.” Word for Word and a joke! Have to wonder though after tonight!
So anyway, our name is called, over the intercom (the only name announced that way from the time we got there to the time we left). Now I don’t know about you but I’m used to being seated when your name is called.
Anyway, we pick up our drinks and head over to the desk. My husband is told to wait . . . Well we waited as 5 other groups were seated (I counted!) before she came over and pointed to a huge bench right in front of the bar. We’re like, ahhh no! So she scrambles around then points us to a table at the far far far away corner of the bar, literally! Again, ahh no! If you have been here then you know what table I’m talking about!
Then she tells us we have to WAIT! The night just gets worse but at this point I’m still wondering why our name was called in the first place????
So finally we are lead to a decent table and the first person working there walks by and makes a comment about our not taking the far away corner table!!!! WTH!
We order our appetizers then our dinner and wait. Next thing we know our dinner is on the table and NO appetizers! Just as were like uh no thanks, 2 more people show up with the tasty treats I’d been waiting all night for . . . We said no thanks take it off the bill. A couple of the employees make comments about the kitchen being slow and we are told we won’t be charged.
So, we eat our crab, was good but not worth the treatment and get the bill. GUESS WHAT? The freaking “horderves” are on the bill!!!!
We got them removed but by this time I’m freaking pissed – poor treatment from beginning to end. I ask for a manager, takes him at least 7 to 8 minutes to come out. By this time my husband’s walking out saying they don’t care what you have to say and I’m getting madder!
So another ten minutes of arguing, he does not listen! He’s all like we offered you a bench and I’m like YEAH after you call our name AND after 5 others were seated before us and pointed to the tables and booths!
All he had to say is, “Well, what do you want me to do for you?”
Well, hummmmmm, you could have comped our dinner, you could have done something instead of standing there like a freaking deer caught in the headlights! Why the hell should I have to ask for it and why the hell were we treated so freaking poorly!
I walked out and not going back . . . Have never felt so unwelcomed and so poorly treated before.
Real shame because I really liked the food!

I'll never eat at a Joe's Crab Shack "NEVER!". I called up the day before Valentines Day and made reservations for 2 for 7:00 PM. Meaning that had to leave my office early to beat the traffic with my 25 mile drive. We arrive to the restaurant at 6:55 and had to get through the long line of people waiting. I flag down an employee to tell them that we're here and she tells me that they don't take reservation for 2....Shocked I ask to speak to the manager. The manager then confirmed that no reservations are taking for 2 people only 8....So now our evening is ruined being that it's after 7PM and Valentines Day and restaurants are packed. To top it off she (the manager) acted as if she could care less that her employee gave out incorrect information and ruined somebody evening that was planned in advanced. Her resolution to the problem was to go stand in line. So as far as I'm concerned I'll never set foot in a Joe's Crab Shake and I'll make it very well known to everybody I know that your group could care less about their customers and JCS's problem resolutions skills are non existent. Also we ended up not being able to find a restaurant to have dinner because we needed reservations. So bottom line....You guys suck!!!!!!

We went for our anniversary to San Antonio Riverwalk Joes Crab Shack. BIG MISTAKE!!! They ruined our Anniversary Dinner. It took forever to serve us and when our food arrives, it was awful. My salad was old and wilted and the crab cake did not even look like a crab cake, it look more like stuffing. It didn't even taste like crab meat. My plate was ordered with fries and I counted 9 little sticks called fries...incrediable! Looks like it was the end of the fries and they did not want to make any more. My husband ordered a steamed pot meal. Oh my....It was cold and the shrimp was hard. I could say so much more ugly things, but I think you get the picture. I feel like I need to go celebrate our Anniversary again. Cause that experience at Joe's Crab Shack was no celebration. So disapointed! And we were looking so much forward to this night. I've tryed to call corporate and only get a recorder for leaving messages. I hope they do call me back. I want to vent and get this off my chest verbally.

Me and my husband went to the joes crab shack in mesquite tx this past Saturday and I must say my past few experiences have been god awful but this last time was absolutely amazing. We had a waitress by the name of Loren she was very attentive but did not bother us too much. The entire staff was very helpful and the food tasted wonderfully. The managers also were very nice. It's been so long since I had an expierience like that I will definitely be returning.

Joe's crab shack in Snellville/Stone Mountain Georgia. This was my second visit in about three years...After receiving the meal, I remembered why I had not been back. I am amazed that you are still in business. Your advertisements on your commercials and on the menus are nothing like what we receive (or don't receive) for the money. Your prices are HIGHWAY ROBBERY!!! Hope your other customers read this and don't believe the HYPE!! Husband ordered the platter, and as a big guy, thought it would be a plate comparable to that given by Red Lobster...NOT...Food was not good. One fish cut in half and presented as two. Crab patty full of bread..shrimp unseasoned...UUUGH. TERRIBLE!! My meal was even worse. Saw the ad and pictures on the menu of the steam pot classic and thought WOW this will be enough to have a doggie bag... maybe get two meals out of it....NOT!! When the waitress brought the plate back, I asked where the rest of the meal was. For $40 dollars, you get two small potatoes, an ear of corn, a cluster of snow crab (small)legs and a cluster of rock crab legs(small), an andouille sausage, and four shrimp all wrapped and supposedly "steamed" in the pot. When the meal came, it was so disappointing that I had to force myself to eat it. The crab legs, sausage, and shrimp were mushy and tasted like they sat all morning in crab water. TERRIBLE!! Although the manager tried to make it work, it just didn't. I will not forget this unforgettable, unpleasant, unsatisfying experience at Joe's Crab Shack...How do I know...I have told all of my friends, families, associates, and enemies of the horrible time at Joes and to literally "kick me" if I EVER mention going there again.

STONE MOUNTAIN SNELLVILL GEORGIA LOCATION: Poor does not describe the experience, the food, the service. Suggestion: Visit your franchisees. Great segment for the show, UNDERCOVER BOSS!!! Your reputation is being RUINED.....BY YOUR OWN PEOPLE....NOT WORTH THE TIME SAYING ANYTHING ELSE....GO SEE FOR YOURSELF...IF YOU DARE....

A group of us went to Joe's , by boat yesterday for lunch...(as we've done before). We were so disappointed to find that the menu had changed since last week and that our favorite salad (Cobb with shrimp had been eliminated... Why would you take one of the popular choices off of your menu?

Don 1/27/12
I always go to Joe's when I go home to visit Texas twice a year.
Yes, I always spend some money (150.00 for two usually, but some drinks involved)but I have a great time. My food always hot and good so far. Service has been great. I am sure locations differ from here to there, but the one in Fort Worth Texas gets two thumbs up.
Now to my problem with Joe's, the nearest one to me is New Jersey 104 miles away from Wallingford Connecticut. There's not one single location in the whole state of Connecticut. C'mon Joe's

Tonia 1/23/12

My husband and I have been seeing the comercials for Joe's on TV and he made a comment about he wish we had one around us, I told him that our youngest hasd said there was one in Abingdon that had just open up. So we went in search of Joe's crab shack in Abingdon we found it, there was 3 in our party and we went in get seated right away. The hostess was very friendly and the waitress (Kim) was ok. We were told about the menu and my husband order the classic pot and told Kim that he and I would be sharing it (I'm not a big fan of having to pick threw the legs for meat or clean the shrimp, so I order the cesear salad (which the salad looked wilted and gross) my daughter order the queen crab legs that came in a pot, we also order the sampler appetizer the waitress told us it was on special for 9.99, we also order our drinks, she also told us about the feed the hungry donations they were doing. Our meal came and I said to my husband that's a big pot, so I said to Kim (is that always that big) she shook her head and said yes, when we were done I asked for the check, Kim asked if we wanted donated, so I said ok $10 dollars my daughter asked for a Tee shirt, so to my surprise when I seen the bill I about fell over it was for 141.00, so I asked Kim why we were charged doubled for the classic pot and she said well you had to order 2, I said no Joe said that we were going to share it and that's why I had also order the ceaser salad, and the sampler was 11.99 not 9.99. As I was paying for the bill she had taken the receipt back (after she had told us earlier when she had gave the bill to us to go on the web site and tell the corp office how they were doing, she knew we weren't happy with the amount on the bill) that's why she took it back. She didn't want us to complain. If everyone is getting that kind of treatment or sees a bill like that I'm surprise you can stay in business. I can see the bill being $80 or $90 but not 141.00. The waitress made one heck of a mistake.

Came in joined our party.. Took 30 minutes to get mine and my husbands drink order and we orders our meal as well which was joes classic steam pot. When they arrived with our food it seemed funny when they said dinner for 2, and not the classic. Well we are more then half a lot of it was over cooked. . Got our ticket and something that should have only been 22.89 came to 66.59 & I notified my waitress and she pretty much said too bad. You already are it. So I asked for a manager and she never got her. So we just paid and left. Never will I return!!

I want to say that the Joes I'm Kansas City Kansas is the worse restaurant I had ever walked in to! The staff looked sloppy it was like they had woke up and just went to work! Also we had a party of 10 with 4 separate bills and all had been charged the extra on our bills do the waiter made a extra $50.00 for not doing any but messing up the orders and then didn't even clean our tables off so we had shells coming out our ears by the end of our lunch! So for spending 107.00 on some food that was cold and wrong orders I guess I won't be going back to suck a dirty and rude place! My address is 3021 sunnyside dr 66502 if it even matters.

cevans 12/24/11
Very bad experience- Newport Beach, CA. Manager Amber Rider was rude. Won't ever go back again. Atmosphere like a freak show, stop to sing/dance every 15 min, had fake bride and groom ceremony etc. Creepy! Crab Nachos were soggy so we asked to have them taken off our bill and ordered a more expensive item ($30 crab bucket) in its place since since my son was still hungry. The manager Amber Rider refused to take nachos off and would only give me half credit for the nachos stating it was their corporate policy. So I canceled the crab bucket and went to In and Out Burger. My first clue should have been that Crab Shack parking lot and restaurant was empty on a Friday night and the restaurants next to it (Rusty Pelican , Chart house etc) were packed! Our tab was $90 for 4 of us, apparently they would rather loose a customer over $10 and aren't interested in making their customers happy. Spend your money some where else!!

Mary A. Wilson 12/1/11
My son, and 2 grandkids were having dinner last night Nov.11,2011. At Ft.Worth, Tx. Joe's Crab Shack. My son was served a glass of beer, wth a chunk of glass in it! I was shocked! My son almost had that piece of glass in his mouth! and all the manager did was give him another glass of beer! We had spent $105.00! in food! which I could not eat! I would never go there again, I needed you to know of this incident!

I went to the Joe's Crab Shack in Merreville IN on 11-6-2011. From the time we entered the door until we left was horrible. Upon arrival there were only 4 or five tables that were seated, the hostess was too busy organizing the t-shirt display to seat us. Upon arriving to our table, the server took our order, 3 soups, 3 salads, and 3 appetizers....not difficult right? I guess for Natalie our server the concept of timing food was not there. She specifically asked us what order we wanted our food...we explained our preference to her; however, she still couldn't get it right. ALL of our food arrived at the same time, with no room on the table to even pick up a fork and manuever a plate. The lobster bisque was ice cold and had a film on top (wonder how long that stayed in the chef's window), the salad was wilted. We ordered the bucket-o-shrimp (18ct) and only received 16...with 2 tails no meat attached. The cole slaw was warm (gross!). It took Natalie our server 28 minutes to bring the bill after we asked her twice to bring it and explained we were in a hurry. She was too bush waiting on other tables. I would love to tell Natalie that a good tip is awarded to people who complete the task from A to Z. The guests at my table between us had over 20 years of waitress experience....she was horrible, and for as low as Indiana's employment rate is, she should be ashamed of herself, and take a little more pride in her oppotunity of being employed. The entire place smelled like they use the same rags and mop heads over and over...I realize in a fish house there should be some amount of a fishy odor....but this place smelled like a sewer. The manager never rounded to tables....which by the time we received our food the place was approaching being full. I will never go back, and as word of mouth can be very detrimental to any business... I promise to spread the word.

Chairman of the Board
Joes Crab Shack,
Sir, I have looked forward to visiting one of your facilities for the past several years. And finally the opportunity arose. My wife and I visited your establishment on E. Southern Ave, Mesa AZ. We were met at the door by very well trained greeters, and then taken to our table by a waitress with complete knowledge of your menu. I felt this was our day, and then came the clam chowder; which by the was as well made as any I ever had on the Northern East coast or the west coast, or Florida. I am a retired Federal Aviation Inspection and spent twenty years traveling between cities and lived in Florida where I skimmed my own shrimp from my boat and from the bridges.
My wife ordered a shrimp platter, my order was similar except it was shrimp with Panko,Chese and I forget the other three shrimp coating. When our plates arrived I was aghast; the shrimp was overcooked beyond the color of the deepest brown shoes you could ever purchase. The edges of all but three shrimp (three which appeared to have a real light batter)/
I have never been served such poor quality food not even in Mc Donalds. If I were to guess I would guess that someone tried to cook all the different coatings at the same time and in the same oil.
I do not personally care for Red Lobster, but they will be my choice before I ever try your food again. I will not speak poorly of the quality of your food to anyone, but I will advise anyone with interest of the excellent clam chowder.

I took my daughter to Joes Crabshack in Chesapeake Virginia last night for her 17th birthday celebration. (My husband was out of town, lucky for him because he HATES the loud atmosphere and EXPENSIVE low quality food there.) We started our meal by ordering the Double Dip- the crab dip and spinach artichoke dip appetizer, served with red and blue tortilla chips. Halfway though the spinach dip, I was surprised by the extra crunchy chip I was chewing, thinking it was one of those super hard, over cooked ones you find in the bunch occasionally. I kept trying to chew it up. Then I began to think it was a crab shell, so I spit it all into my napkin only to discover I was actually chewing pieces of BROKEN PLATE!!! I spit out FOUR half-dime size pieces of the sharp shards along with the smaller chewed gritty pieces. We discovered the edge of the bowl was cracked and the large chunks had spilled into the dip.I was horrified. I called the manager over to explain. She removed the bowl only to return and claim the bowl was intact....my daughter had to then show her the obvious break in the bowl. After I returned from the bathroom to rinse the gritty remnants from my mouth the manager explained that the dip was cooked at very high temperatures under a broiler....(so this is to be expected???) She offered me another spinach dip! That's it!! I thought to myself, why would I want another if your standing there excusing the incident because of how you cook it? I declined. I received NO APOLOGY. I demanded instead that they buy our dinner, however I was so upset by the incident and even more distressed by the way I was treated, I felt nauseous and unable to eat. The manager's actions caused me,--the victim-- to feel humiliated and embarrassed because of her complete lack of compassion and empathy and the way she minimized of the situation. Had she been half as horrified as I was, had she genuinely apologized I am certain I could have continued my meal without ill effects. Unfortunately, I was so upset I could not eat, I felt like I was going to vomit, and was on the verge of tears the entire time I sat and watched my daughter eat her birthday dinner. The manager gave me a copy of an incident report which she filed- a simple form that basically said NOTHING, I tipped the waitress $20, (it was not her fault AND she was actually compassionate!)and left. This morning I am even more upset, except today I am AMGRY, not a victim. I WILL take this further. What ever happened to quality customer service? At the very least, this manager needs some intensive training but more than that I would like to see her lose her job. She is NOT in the right career. CUSTOMER COMES FIRST! Little do these people realize that for the most part an apology is all it takes to avoid a lawsuit.

The only reason I am even giving a '1 star' is because there was not an option for NO star. Tonight we went to the Joe's Crab Shack in Humble, Texas to celebrate my Aunt's 50th Birthday. Upon arriving there, there may have been maybe 10 other guest in the whole restaurant. We placed our orders and literally waited for OVER AN HOUR to recieve our food! We had complained to our waitress who had about a 5th grade mentallity, that said they only had 2 cooks in the kitchen but kept telling us 'she believed our food was coming out soon'. She then sent the 'manager' out to talk to us whom we seldom seen but when we did he was either walking out of the kitchen eatting and drinking or clearly bs'ing with a few of the girls that worked there. Anyway, he tried to blow us off as much as he could saying he was sorry although he didn't even try to explain what the hold up might be or offer us anything in the meantime. We explained that we had patiently been waiting for an hour for our food and he just acted clueless and said he would go see what time our ticket got put in and see what's going on. Mind you, if they had been super busy in there or something, we may have even understood some what of a wait but they were NOT!!!! After that, we expected he or the food would come out soon but it did not. Although we had been polite despite our aggrivation, he never returned to check on us and ended up avoiding our table like the plague!!! He literally, pretty much stayed hidden as much as possible! We did recieve our food about 30 minutes after speaking with him which put us at about an hour and a half waiting BUT the fact that he never came back to check on us after that was highly aggrivating. After we finished eatting, we didn't see our waitress for a while, no one came to clean our table, and after asking for our bill which took an additional 30 minutes to recieve we had been there 3 hours!!!!! My aunt didn't even get a desert! She even asked to speak with the manager again to discuss our experience and he never would come out of the kitchen area!!! Our waitress straight up told us she told him but couldn't get him to come out!!! WHAT? He acted like he was 10 years old or something afraid to hold accountability for his actions. It was seriously, UNBELIEVABLE!!!! What kind of manager does that? The disrespect and lack of service we recieved while there was totally mind blowing. It was without a doubt the craziest, rudest, WORST service at a restaurant that any of us had EVER experienced. I am convinced that those doors will be closing up soon around there...I guess the fact that it was vacant tonight should have thrown up a red flag! We all vowed to never go to another Joe's again and I will be sharing my story with my 900+ facebook friends and will post my complaint on every website I can find that accepts Joe's guest comments!!!

When my wife and I arrived at your Mesquite, TX location, June 16th, 2011 we were the only ones in the bar. (We had been eating and drinking there several years). A sign on the wall showed draft beer for $1.25 pt. Waitress told us new happy hour price for large beer was $3.69 but didn't say that ALL beer prices had gone up. We ordered pints (we thought at $1.25)We also ordered food. After our drinks were served, we noticed the waitress and barman taking down the happy hour sign. When the bill came, the small beer was billed at $3.29. I requested the manager to see me. He said that since his waitress had told us the new price for LARGE drafts, that we shold pay the new price for the small drafts. After some words were exchanged, I told him to go ahead and bill at the new price because I was finished trying to explain the problem to him, to which he said, "you have a bad attitude". I don't need the money, but there is a principle involved. We'll not set foot in Joe's again.

I called 713-366-7500 (the corporate office) and the lady that answered the phone repeatedly was rude and unprofessionally. Considering that this is the CORPORATE office you would think she would answer the the phone in a friendly voice and actually be helpful. Instead of great customer service she transfered me to another number TWICE without giving me the direct line number and I received no answer. When I called back the third time after she hung up in my face twice she told me she CANT give me the direct line to whom she was transfered me to and transfered me to the answering machine with again no assitance. Joes Crab shack or "Ignite Resturant Group Inc." should retrain or terminate...First name:TRACY ... Last name: "UNKNOWN<.>!!! on 05/09/2011 Monday 8am- 9:33am.

It was my first visit to Joe's Crab Shack. I purchased the Orleans with craw fish. I had never had crawfish before. I have to say even though the service and atmosphere was great my crawfish was awlful. I thought if I took it home my husband would eat it, but even my husband did not like it or my mother-in-law or father-in-law. My father-in-law is just going to use it for bait for fishing. If it was not for the fact I had got an appitizer and shrimp was included I would not have had anything to eat. I had only had one crawfish and it was horrible. I would go back to Joe's crab, but I will not ever get crawfish again.

We made reservations at the Vancouver, WA location for 3:30 for a party of 20 to celebrate our sons birthday. We were told 3:30 is the latest a group our size could get a reservation (and none were taken after 4:00) so we took it. We finally got our table around 3:45 or and sat down for what we thought would be an enjoyable dinner.

A little after 4:00 and after we had settled in, our server came over and informed us that a Portland Trail Blazer was going to be seated at the table next to us. She informed us of how nice he was (a regular there I guess) and he would sign autographs no problem. She only asked that we not bother him while he was eating. This excited the 7 kids that were a a part of our party that night. He finally rolls in about 4:30 (which by the way he obviously had a reservation after 4:00) and the coolness of sitting next to a local celebrity begins.

Dinner is served and really isn't that bad. It's not the best seafood ever but we had no complaints about the food tonight. The party was going great and everyone was having a good time. Our servers were actually pretty attentive as well and she even mentioned a couple of times to just wait a bit before asking for an autograph. We finish our dinner, order some dessert and just hang out and socialize for maybe 10 minutes.

That is when our experience went from really good to really bad. I watched as the manager walked over to one of the local stars "entourage" and pulled him aside. After a few minutes of talking, they shake hands, he returns to his table and the manager walks right over to our table and in a loud voice and with a negative tone says "I heard a rumor that you were going to ask Mr. _____ for an autograph and he just doesn't do that and never has when he's been here." Needless to say, the kids with our grouped were pretty bummed out. We hang out for about 5 more minutes at which point the waitress comes over (the same one who told us multiple times that he always signed autographs) that really what was going on is that the manager wanted our tables since he had people waiting and he was basically trying to encourage us to move along.

I would like to clarify that we are not the type of people who assume that celebrities should sign autographs wherever they are and that kind of stuff. Had the waitress not specifically told us he did, we would have let them be and just left having a cool story that we were right there with someone famous. We are not at all mad that we didn't get the autographs (the kids were, but we do understand him just wanting to be out and left alone, completely respectible). I do take issue with the fact that either our waitress or the manager lied (I'm leaning towards the manager) and essentially ruined the night for the entire group.

We also understand that it's a Saturday night and it's busy, but our group of 20 spent a lot of money that night and in no way deserved to be rushed like we were and essentially encouraged to leave because he wanted our table. I have no doubt that the table next to us was encouraged to take their time and stay as long as they would like.

We were really discouraged because we were such big fans of the Joe's locations we visited in California. We even sent our concerns to corporate and have yet to hear back. Unfortunately for Joe's, they have lost on out on more than 5 families worth of customers for the lack of any sort of caring about this situation.

We used to have Joe's here in Aurora, Illinois as well as Bowling Brook. They have both closed - it was a restaraunt sorely missed in this area. An option to reopen would be on Rte. 59 right by the theater - the businesses all do well there. Please, please, reopen!

we went to joe's crab shack in round rock tx for a large birthday party...The reciptionest was really stupid.Mind you it was not busy 8 people in there at 6:30 on tue our drinks were lacking in taste..our food was cold when served we had to ask for condiments, wait for refills and I ordered a crab cake which was raw the first time sent back and it has been thrown on the plate and taked STRONGLY OF FISH NOT CRAB!!!The coconut shrimp was overooked, chicken tenders as well plates were not arranged in a presentable manner we had to get up and find wait staff to clear items from table, there were members of my family from 3 yrs old to 84 what a horrible expensive experence.
in this day and time with gas over $3.00 wonderful dining to compete with and people eating at home more they need to probally fix these problems or they won't be there next yr ,since going i have shared our experance w co workers and advised to skip Joe's money better spent elseware.

My husband, daughter and I went to JCS in Dublin/Columbus, OH on Saturday.
1. A gnat was frozen on an icecube in my daughter's drink. She noticed it after she drank the entire drink.

2. The arrival of food was slow. My husband ordered a salad. The food came 10 minutes AFTER he finished his salad.

3. The floor where we sat was gross. My shoe came sticking to the floor.

The place just felt unkempt. We were offered a free appetizer (with the purchase of a meal). Unfortunately, we will never be back to get it!!

Used to go to Joe's whenever my family and I were on the river, here in Sacramento. Most times...good food, good service...enjoyed ourselves. Last trip...left a LOT to be desired! Got seated, 7 of us in total. Took some time for the waitress to finally approach us...gave utensils/etc. No order taken for drinks. Finally, another waitress took pity on us ( I guess) and came over, explained they were 'slammed'...they were...but no excuse for what happened to that point. Drinks come, we order. A six party group comes in behind us, ten minutes later. They are served their food order! We are still waiting!!! Finally, 10 or 15 minutes later, our food arrives. That did not make me happy...I sent a message via e.mail to Joes...NO RESPONSE after a week. Sent another e.mail three days ago...NO RESPONSE!!! What is it...do you guys really care what happens out here in the 'real' world? After spending close to $100 for a meal...and then not getting any response...why would/should I spend any money there again?

Bryce Dimicelli 9/12/10
Dear Joe's Corporate Office,
So a little less than two weeks ago some friends of mine invited me to Joe's crab shack for dinner. I'm not a big seafood fan and figured I would just tag along to drink a few beers. The service was quite poor and our waitress Audrey seemed to be having a hard time in the section she was working in. Having waited tables myself in the past, I can understand that waiters/waitresses do get stuck in the weeds from time to time. So that was no big deal. So the food came, one friend ordered a side if crab legs, the other had a fish and shrimp plate, myself enjoying a red stripe. The food was great, my friends said, and the red stripe too. So when it comes time to pay our tab, we split the check two ways, two red stripes for me, and the rest of the bill for them. I ended up paying with my card while the other bill was paid in cash. I believe my friends bill came out to $32.00 and some change. They left $35.00 cash on the table, and we left the building. While on my way home I realized that my card was left at the Crab shack and turned around to go and get it. When I went back inside I was approached by two managers whom were curious about my friends bill. I was told that my friends had only left $2.00 and some change, and there bill had been walked out on. I distinctly remember there being no change placed on the table, and the amount of tip they gave our poor waitress was $2.00 and some change. $35.00(AMOUNT PAID) minus $32.00 and some change(PRICE OF THEIR BILL) equals $2.00 and some change(THE AMOUNT THE MANAGER TOLD ME FRIENDS LEFT) I was told by the manager that the bill was not taken care of and needed to be. So trying to avoid any further confrontation I paid the bill of $32.00 and change with $36.00 in cash, and apologized for any inconvenience. The next morning I was able to get in contact with the couple that I had went to Joe's Crab Shack with and they were outraged about the situation that happened the night before, saying that the bill had been paid in full. My friends Angie and Mike then stated to me that they were going up to Joe's to speak with a manager. They went and explained in detail the situation at hand and were told that the computer showed there bill being paid at the same time that my card was ran to pay my bill, and to leave there number and a manager would get back to them once further investigated. I also have called and left a number to get back to and have not been called back. Its has now been over a week and neither I or Mike and Angie have been called about the situation. While Joe's may still be employing a waitress who is keeping cash that is paid for bills and claiming that guest walked out on there ticket. Because of this waitress and poor job of investigation by management I have now been cheated out of $36.00 cash by a multimillion dollar franchise who is employing possible thief's. Since neither of the parties has been contacted back by Joe's management. It is obvious that they are unwilling to admit there mistake, and would rather employee thief's, then repay a customer who has been violated by fraudulent acts of the company.

Are You Kidding Joe's?By: fcabanski

If you've eaten at Joe's Crab Shack you know that at times the lights flash and the staff breaks into song and dance.

Tonight the song was Macarena (spelling?). They'd shout different things that would change the style of dance, such as "SURF'S UP" followed by mimicking riding on surf boards.

When they shouted "Los Angeles Police" they all mimicked beating a suspect, punching their open hand with a fist.

What a nice family atmosphere:

- Promoting a false, negative stereotype of police.
- Adding a little fun and violence to the song in a family restaurant.

If I yelled "Illegal Immigrant" and mimicked sneaking across a border people would be up in arms even though that stereotype, unlike that about Los Angeles police, is accurate.

Since I moved here 5 years ago, I have been to the Humble Joe's Crab Shack twice. After the 2nd time, which was back in March, I vowed to never return again.

Forget the song and dance by the staff...the food is HORRIBLE. I wonder what happened to the place. Joe's use to be real, real good.
