Disappointed

I have been a JC Penney customer for many years. I have to say that I am extremely disappointed with the recent changes, mostly concerning the woman's clothing selection. It is horrible:-( You have lost my business to Kohl's.....maybe your new CEO should do a walk through at a local Kohl's to see what most woman are looking for......

Deceptive Signs - An awful experience

It's no wonder that JCPenney is losing money and will be going out of business. I went there for the first time in years today. Timex Watches with a huge sign - $22.00. Only when I went to pay for the watch did I find out that they were being deceptive. There was tiny, microscopic print at the bottom of the sign, "and up." They take the customer for fools. They deserve to go out of business.

Frustrated

I am a PAST 40 year customer because of the discontinued BIG MAC JEANS and Stafford short sleeve shirt selection. My money spends just as well at your competitors store.

One bad Apple...

Good riddance RJ and please take your IPads with you. Huge expense, slow, constantly malfunctioning and much loathed by both employees and customers alike. Who in their right mind would ever think that having less cash registers would make for better service? Bring back the kiosks and make it a social place. Back off with the pressure to get credit applications and please bring back dress codes or a nice shirt for a uniform-showcase some nice clothing! Beef up the security system for theft or put attendants in the dressing rooms. Also, how the store looks for visiting corporate VIP's shouldn't be more important than giving good customer service and being available. A lot of employees try really hard but it has been difficult to deal with all the confusing changes and public opinion. Bring back some of the old policies and brands but keep some new ones. Things can be turned around.

Was finally happy.

I love the new Penney's as they have finally brought back a nice shopping experience. It is a clean and organized shopping environment. You can actually get some nice pieces at a decent price without having to hunt down a sales person to ring up your sale. We purchased my girls Easter dresses there at a decent price. I liked the fact I didn't have to hunt for sales on the same thing with a coupon. Other larger retailers are increasing their prices so the sales with a coupon can bring them down to a normal price. So now Penney's wants to go back to the old ways. Please don't. Most families cannot afford crazy prices as the market is clearly showing. Please keep your focus on the customer and keep it how it is. Brick and mortar stores are becoming a thing of the past. The only thing that keeps one alive is the people working inside of it and the quality of the items it has.

Customer Service Fraud

Having the manager of the JC Penny store in Pueblo, Colorado ALWAYS park his pretty orange Dodge Charger in the "customer service" employee of the month and not allowing other employees to park there is (from my view as a customer) FRAUD!

I do not understand why JCPenney wants to sell what the department stores sell. We have a ton of high priced department stores out there to choose from if we so prefer. However, there are more average income people out there then high income. We po not have to have big labels - we want good merchandise at a reasonable price. This was the foundation the company was built on and getting away from this is flushing you down the toilet. I can't imagine a world without JCP, but the path it is on is certainly headed that way. Please bring back more of the old JCP.

Only thing wrong with Penny's everything became tacky, and cheap, looking; you're clothes, and hangbags, (my weakness) shoes, things for the home, everything was beautiful; then all at once after 47 yrs. I stopped shopping at Penny's. Closing isn't ther answer someone who can put Penny's back where it was is.

Please bring the old Penny's back with clothes that are stylish for the older folks and not the 20 year olds. Your current selection is horrible and hope the new-old CEO brings back the St. John's bay nice selection of t-shirts and other clothing! I have a brand new store about a mile away and it is such a waste because there is nothing to buy in it. From homegoods to clothes the selection is horrible!

Finally! What took so long to get rid of Ron Johnson? Get somebody in there that can identify with "regular" people. Not arrogance that will just turn off and alienate customers. Hopefully it's not too late.

Aberdeen wa. Store

I am very disappointed in the decision to close our Aberdeen Wa. Store. It has been a part of our community for over a century and this weighs heavy on the hearts of many in our town. Please reconsider and save a store that had been loved by many for over a hundred years...

Bad Marketing

Approximatley 2-3 weeks ago I saw you had some Liz Claiborne sling backs on sale for $25, a couple different styles - I didn't act in time to get the sale price. Last night I visited your Pleasant Prairie, WI store and saw the shoes on CLEARANCE for $30 - REALLY JC PENNEY? You wonder why things aren't going well? In these hard times people watch for their favorite products to go on sale, and if you practice these type of selling strategies - why would anyone keep coming back?

I have shopped at JCP for over 30 years & I am so dissapointed with the new line up of womens wear, What happened to Cabin Creek Shirts. they were so affordable & great quality. You lost me JCP to Kohls.. Please bring back our old friend J.C. Penny

The remodeling of the store in my area, (Tacoma WA) is still ongoing, but it is beautiful. Having said that, I must say that I am dismayed to see how overly casual the sales associates are. When I was shopping at Christmas time I noticed that the sales staff were all in jeans, tennis shoes and sloppy tee shirts. I assumed they were extras hired for the holiday season. I noticed again yesterday, April 8, 2013 that the staff are still dressed as though they picked out of the rag-bag. At the very least, they should be practicing good grooming habits and wearing clothing more appropriate to their positions. I am totally turned off by the entire staff at this point in time. P> Our family have always been strong supporters of JC Penney. I still remember my first pair of patent leather maryjanes came from there. My parents bought most of our school clothes and shoes from JCP, and I continued the practice with my own children. If I want junk I can always go to a competitor such as Walmart or K-Mart. Please start stocking better quality goods. Your stores should be more on a par with Macy's.

Continued and About Employees.

JC Penney need many, many more Employees on the Sales Floor to assist Customers. It would let Customers know JCP cares about them and provides actual service. Just a Few Register Ringers just doesn't cut it in 2013. If I wanted to turn JCP around, the First thing I would do is simple, FIRE THE BOARD of Directors!!! Mr Johnson had an approach that may have worked well given time, it may have not, BUT the Current Board has proved to be totally incompetent, regardless of anyone's efforts to turn the compoany around. FORMULA FOR JCP TURNAROUND -, Better JCP Buyers + Better Quality + Traditionally Good Selling Brands + More Employees and Actual Customer Service Benches for Customers to take a Break and contemplate their next purchase = More Shoppers & More Sales!!! This is NOT Rocket Science, it is common sense.

I have purchased Arizona jeans for years because I could always rely count on them being consistently the right size and cut. Now I purchased a pair and find they are larger than teh label states and the cut is different. (The rise is higher). Get the same manufacturer or have this one contue with the quality JC Penny has been known for. If I now have to go through the procedure of finding what number is now my size (and that hasn't changed in some 10 years) and what cut now fits I will do that at some other store.

JCPenny Clothing

've shopped JC Penny's for years because of the quality of your merchandise. Your own brand women's clothing hashttp://ecorporateoffices.com/themes/1/section/images/rating/star-on.png definitely gone down hill tremendously. I looked at a top. The fabric was so thin you could almost see through it. The injury to insult, it had a price tag of $24. I purchased Alfred Runner instead which was far superior, more expensive but I got something for my money. I talked to three other customers while shopping today and they all had the same opinion. Penny's had really gone down hill in clothing quality. My shopping will be limited at JC Penny's. Thank you,

Our store in Huntington, Indiana

I recently went bouncing into our local J.C. Penney store to shop for a new outfit. I wear a size 1X and love the plus size clothing at Penney's. The salesgirls said, "don't bother to look for anything as they came and took all the plus sizes out of the store". I could not believe it!! This little town of about 17,000 have a lot of oversized women in it. Why in the world would they suddenly take the plus sized women's clothing out of our store? The Sales Clerks said they had no idea. No one said why and it was done in one day. You complain how your sales have gone down so badly and you pull a line of clothing that sells big in our town. Why??? The only store we have left that sells good plus sized women's clothes is Goody's. So, their sales have really picked up. Including me now as a constant shopper there. Put the plus sizes back into Penney's. Whose dumb idea was this to take them out in the first place.!!!

2nd complain and different

Not only have you taken all plus women's sizes out of our local store but you have stopped carrying the brands I shopped for...Alfred Dunner...beautiful styles...gone. Cabin Creek...great blue jeans and other clothing...gone. Many of the Men's lines we purchased...gone. What is this and why. I miss my old JCP store. Used to be my favorite and now I can't shop there anymore at all.

want old store back

I've been shopping at Penneys for decades. I spent hundreds of dollars there each Chistmas. This year I walked in with my wad of Christmas money expecting to spend almost all of it there and walked back out without having bought anything!!! I'm used to seeing big stacks of flannel shirts and several different weights and plaids to choose from---very skimpy choice this year. I've had several similar experiences. I HATE your remodel. If I wanted to shop at boutique stores, I'd shop there----which I don't. When I go to Penneys I expect to see racks of clothes tht are stylish but appropriate for grown ladies not a remake of teeny bopper clothes. Just yesterday I saw a top I thought I might like and the fabric was cheap looking. I continue having unhappy experiences there. I don't like REALLY crowded racks but you are WASTING ALOT OF EXPENSIVE REAL ESTATE by the lack on merchandise and the WIDE ailes that hold almost nothing and BRIGHT lights that almost blind a person. Do some updating but keep it real. People go to Penneys for good prices and a wide choice of quality merchandise. We don't shop there for the ultra-mod decor. PLEASE bring us back our good old, dependably Penneys.
