Have always been happy with the HD stores in Nashville Tn, but the one in Paducah Ky is totally off on this one. This week in the lawn and garden center they had signs posted throughout the area promoting 50% off all trees, shrubs, and rose bushes till august 1st. After having already bought several at that discount on Tuesday I went back this morning to finish my project but the signs were down and told they had changed their mind. Complained about it and no effort was made to give the discount not even a I'm sorry. Called customer service at home office and was very nice but no promises. Think of the coustmers that had seen those signs and may be driving back in for the discount. The right thing to do is put the signs back up and honor the advertised sale. Customer service said it might be 48 hours before they could find out anything. Now wonder Lowes parking lot has more traffic.

I am writing about the HD store in Manteca, CA. I'm so tired of FINDING NOBODY TO HELP ME. when i do find someone i have to wait for them to finish their phone conversations, talking with other employees about what they are going to do that night or what they did over the weekend. they will walk right past you unless you almost physically jump in front of them. Walking up to the cashier and finding her all sloched over on the main register because she is tired. that looks really great. the one thing i have to say about the employees at the Manteca location is that most of the older empoyees, not all, but most of them will stop and help you. Isn't that waht they are suppose to be doing? i have gone to HD for many years that i can remember but lately i have been going to Lowes instead and i can't say enough good things about the treatment i receive from employees. the Manteca store really need to get rid of a few and get some others in that actually act like they want to be there. i have no idea if i will be going back unless i see a change which is a shame since i have a small construction firm and i do throw alot of business to them. thanks for letting me get that off my chest.

I am 60 years old, a woman, and not a "handyman" by any sense of the word. In am in the process of relocating, and I went to Home Depot for boxes. I needed 10 large cardboard boxes, and 6 plastic storage containers with lids. An 40ish woman working there directed me to the isle with the boxes - accurately - and with a smile. So far, so good. But when I reached the isle, no one was free to help me load the boxes into my basket. I lifted - shoved - pushed - and finally they all fell on top of my head, tearing the skin on the left side of my face... and still not a single employee was willing to help me. There were SEVERAL who witnessed my struggle with all these boxes, and most were women... they completely ignored me... and I guess their freshly painted fingernails just wouldn't allow for such nonsense- so I proceeded by myself. I couldn't see anything in front of me, but I was determined to reach the checkout counter... and eventually, I did. The youthful prim-donna girl at the register had zero interest in helping me unload the boxes in order to check me out... so A CUSTOMER - A CUSTOMERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR - offered to unload the boxes in an effort to help the prima donna to simply place her little GUN on the BAR to make her job as simple as possible. He not only unloaded my basket, but he loaded it back again.. and the whole time - I never received a greeting - help - or thank you from the prima donna at the register. I continued pushing the basket until I reached my car. Again, I struggled getting all these boxes out of the basket, and into my trunk and back seat... in the 105 degree weather... when suddenly this angel appeared to help me! His name was "Tony" and he was an employee, who saw me stuggling with these boxes in the parking lot. THANK YOU GOD FOR TONY... for he was ONLY employee in this entire gigantic facility that had the slightest desire to help me... His name is Tony guys - please recognize him. He's the only employee you have, that I saw (other than the elderly woman who directed me correctly), that gave a flying flip about me and my business. Linda Gleinser - Victoria, Texas

When will Home Depot realize the need to offer a safety work boot to there customers! Just about every perspective shopper who enters a Home Depot store, is either a weekend warrior or tradesmen that wears a work boot! Act quickly or the competition will see this as an opportunity!

Purchased a stainless steel barbeque 5/13/10 at the wellington, fla store as a housewarming gift for my daughter. My next visit was November and the unit was rusting out around all the seams. Carried the unit back to the store they neither would issue a refund or hold the unit there until the Head manager could see it. Had to rent a pickup there and bring the unit back home. After much haggling manager on duty offered a $200 CREDIT. This was after less than 6 months of use. Further complaints to corporate and to store have not been successful. I have been a customer since HD first opened with commercial account as well as personal account for myself and one for my wife. This experience has certainly made me rethink my loyalties to HD as usually there's a Lowe's just across the street. HD's loss WHAT A WASTE OF ADVERTISING DOLLARS TO GET ME BACK WHEN ALL I WANTED WAS TO BE TREATED FAIRLY.

Recently went to Home Depot in Eagle, Idaho to pick up two sliding glass doors for my new home we are building. Mind you the closet Home Depot is 100 miles away from me so when I go there I make it a big purchase. Two "associates" gladly loaded and secured the mammoth doors as I could not by myself (92 lb woman) and they secured with the tie down straps I provided in my enclosed trailer. I did have to mention to these "boys" that they needed to get some cardboard or something to protect them as they had them laid against each other (that should have warned me that they were not equipped for this job!) When I arrived home to unload, both doors were damaged, vinyl ripped, scuffed and the lower door that provided the support of both doors is now permantly bowed from all the weight! Called HD spoke to the manager, MELODY and she said it is not their fault once it leaves HD. HD employees are NOT even supposed to load or secure only assist according to Atlanta CO. but they did load it and tied them down and should replace them but wont. Have spent 10k this year alone there, guess I should've bought from local hardware store here!!

I purchased a new roof from Home Depot. It was and is a terrible experience. The roofers they sent brought nails to long, they were for putting a roof over a roof, not for new roof where the old roof is removed. The nails made my entire roof around my home look like a pin cushion. Yes, there is supposed to be a little of the nail showing for warranty purposes, but these nails were way to long. They came out and cut the nails, after admitting they were wrong, however, now they claimed the roof was no longer under warranty. So they came back out and put in the correct length nails. That was ok, except now I have nail holes and tears in my wood eaves. They did not replace the oversized nails in my flat roof garage so I still have sharp nails exposed through the wood. This is also true in my attic, where several years ago, Home Depot, installed my heater in my attic. Every time a service tech goes up there to service my heater they get stabbed by the nails. This job cost $14,000. You would think they would do it right. I am still fighting with them and it is a year later. I will never, ever buy from them again.....and warn anyone who does.

On 7/18/11 The manager and other employees were heard yelling at heavy set white girl in the service center room. As I looked around others passing by heard had poorly this employee was being torn apart by 5 others in the same room. Some customers turned away shaking their heads. There was a Black lady yelling at this white girl. I am a customer that this store just lost because I don't for how this black lady was yelling at the young white girl. H.Q. you got to take action against this type of treatment as no employee should ever be allowed to be yelled in front of the customers. To my knowledge this is Harassment and every employee deserves better than this.

On 5/20/11 I ordered Bruce Hardwood flooring to be delivered and installed, in 2 samll rooms and a closet, by Home Depot. I was told it would take no more than a week to be installed. The job was measured on 5/24 the flooring wasn't delivered until 6/10 and 17 big boxes were left in the driveway. I had to have help bringing it into the house so it could sit for 72 hours before installation could begin. The installer didn't arrive until 6/15. Upon examining the wood the installer said 40% of it was bad. He did what he could and only managed to do one third of one room in 2 days. The rejected wood stayed in my house and Home Depot sent out 17 more boxed of wood. Upon inspection almost half of this was of extremely poor quality. The installer loaded it all up and returned it to the store. I accompanied him and met with an employee who attempted to do a special order but could not find the same color. On 7/08 eleven boxes were dropped in my garage whereupon I had to put it in the house for 72 hrs. This wood was also of poor quality. At this time I tried to have a manager come out to the house to see this and offer some help and advice. This was not forthcoming. The installer was told by someone to go ahead and get the job done. He finally finished on 7/11. We expected better & hope for some sort of compensation for weeks of frustration and a poor job. I am still left with 6 boxes of wood which I have to load up and return to the store.

My local store is a good and friendly place that mostly carries what I need for my home improvement projects and if they get something wrong, try their best to make it right. I don't know anything about Home Depot's policy regarding homosexuality and I don't really care. People's sexual orientation is their own business not mine. If you are opposed to homosexuality, um, don't look for same sex partners. There. Your problem is solved. Beyond that, it's a nonya...none of your business.

rating should be -000000-no response from anyone -cashier, manager-no one knows who is the store manager (will not name names) This is Store #1112 West Columbia, Fernandina RD. Columbia, SC 29212 --- I have PO #'s and billing's --- THEY OWE ME!!!!!! PS almost $2,000

Based on HD's Corporate policy of supporting all things gay, I now do all of my home improvement shopping at Lowe's and Ace Hardware. Over recent years I have spent many thousands of $ at HD, but never again. If you want to support this boycott, go to: OneMillionDads.com [contact@afa.net]

I recently hired Home Depot to install some windows. First, the sales guys measured the windows incorrectly so they sent out a project manager who also measured the windows incorrectly. On the day of the install one window could not be replaced because the window they built was too small therefore I had to wait 2 weeks for them to build the correct size. They also built the screens wrong on 2 windows. They return and fixed one. The second they didn't even bother to install instead they left the screen on my front porch. After inspecting my windows, since they did not send someone out to check the work, I found the chaulking done was very poor meaning the windows will leak. I suggest to anyone planning on replacing their windows that they DO NOT USE HOME DEPOT unless you want the job to be done very poorly.

I work at home depot and I have had to order appliances and other things through my store. I'll let everyone know that it isn't everyone who is horrible at Home Depot. 99% of everything that goes wrong is the Home Depot's management team. They do whatever they can to screw the associates. I work in Texas where temperatures reach well into the 100s and our manager is threatening to take away our water coolers because 2 associates got cups of water at the same time. Once the management starts caring bout their employees we wont feel so broken to helping others. I won't give my name or the store because the Home Depot will fire me. Even if i call the "confidential" aware line for Home Depot, the management is sent the conversations recorded and they will fire me for complaints about management.

the south anchorage store is awful, no one knows anything nor where things are or about what they are selling. Recently ordered com posit decking they sent up the wrong color due to employee error now we have to wait another 10 to 15 days for order no.2 also ordered a door told it would be here the 5th of july as of the 5th it has not been shipped now not due till the 25th I have never delt with incompetent people such as what is in our home depot store here. I am taking my business now over to lowes of which have items in there store and you don't have to order your stuff all the time. They seem to care a little more about there customers than hd does. They do not even deserve the 1 star that I gave them 00000 is even to good.

What a crock you guys are. I USED to be a lifetime loyal customer, but not anymore! The employees at the Tulalip (Washington) store have a sh*tty ass attitude. I tried to get a refund on a brand new weedeater that was never used. I had it for 10 days. But since I am now moving into an apt., I will have no use for it. Ok, it was my fault that I lost the receipt, so that cashier asked what CC card I used, and I told Sherry "American Express." She ran a check on her computer and said "nope, you didn't use AMEX. I know I did. We ran my other CC cards too, and nothing showed up on her computer. BEGRUDGINGLY, the Mgr. "Isaac" gave me a store credit. There was no apology or any dose of customer service. I am moving into an apartment, so I don't need lawn equipment, and that's why I tried to get a refund. There isn't much I'll need from HD since I will be living in an apartment, so this leaves a very sour taste in my mouth. OH, BY THE WAY, MY AMEX ACCT. STATEMENT DOES CONFIRM THAT I PURCHASED THE ITEMS ON 6/19. SO YOUR CLERK GAVE ME FALSE INFORMATION. THIS IS ALL HER FAULT (OR YOUR I.T. DATA. YOU JUST LOST A LOYAL CUSTOMER, AND YOU GUYS NEED TO GO OUT OF BUSINESS. SCREW YOU.

This company has the worst "policies" of any company I have dealt with in year. June 16: Birthday gift (power tool) arrives from HD. It is defective. June 16: Call Customer Service and after arguing for a while, get them to agree to pay for return of defective item. I notice that nowhere on form is there an option for "Send me a replacement." Agent confirms this and explains the item will be picked up the next day by UPS, upon receipt by warehouse it will trigger the sending of a gift card with which I can re-purchase the item. June 23: Receipt from UPS that item was delivered. June 28: Three calls to customer service and promises that card info will be sent to me via email so I can place order immediately. Final response: Ooops, we can't do anything. Already credited the gift giver. Tough Luck. No apologies. Coda: I am expecting delivery from HD of a $500+ saw in 2 days and I intend to refuse delivery.

I HAVE WORKED FOR HOME DEPOT FOR 6 MONTHS THEY ARE THIEVES I WORKED FOR COMMISSION ONLY AND I WOULD SAY THEY STEAL AT LEAST 25% OF YOUR COMMISSION. I FINALLY HAD ENOUGH AND AS OF NOW THEY HAVE NOT PAID ME THE FINAL COMMISSION OWED OF ABOUT $2,000.00 AFTER YOU LEAVE OTHERS TELL ME THAT THIS HOW THEY DO IT. THEY PAY THE FRONT HALF WHEN YOU SELL AND THE BACK HALF WHEN INSTALLED.IF YOU QUIT YOU NEVER GET THE BACK HALF THERE WHOLE SETUP IS GEARED TOWARD SCREWING THE EMPLOYEE.BAD COMPANY BAD MANAGEMENT.

I placed an order for a 5 gallon Wolman Driftwood Deck Stain from Home Depot.com on May 18th - never came - damaged in transit. Called for a credit on May 25th and reordered (this couldn't possible happen again). On May 31st it again was damaged but this time UPS put the 5 gallon pail in a box and delivered it DAMAGED. I was told by Homedepot.com rep to return it to the nearest Home Depot store for a credit. The store could not find the item on their computer so they call customer service and the rep on the phone said the credit will be posted in 5-7 business days and then on June 1st I ordered for the third time (what was I thinking) and was given a 10% discount for all my troubles. I never received that item - also damaged in transit but UPS sent it back not to me this time. I received a credit for the first one and am awaiting my third one but Home Depot is saying I received an in store credit for the second and I never did. My husband and I walked out of the store with nothing but a note on the bottom of my paperwork. I will never order from their website or buy from their store again and if I don't receive my second credit the Dept. of ag and trade will hear from me next.

NEVER DO HOME DEPOT REFACING!!! they showed us pretty pictures, had a sign a contract, then installed crap. when we asked why it was so different from the pictures on the web site they directed us to tiny line items in the contract that say that your kitchen will not look like the pics. I have a full 2.5" in between each and every cabinet door, doors are hung at different heights, handles are not level, drawer faces are not flush, doors are warped and do not close falt, etc etc etc. They make no apologies and are refusing to make good. NEVER EVER USE HD REFACING OR US REMODELERs!!!!!
