I am a citizen of Wilson, NC and I was looking for part-time employment with my local Harris Teeter. The position was available on-line and once I went into the store, I saw another sign posting "now Hiring." I am more than qualified for the job in which I applied for and was never called or emailed in response to my applicarion. Recently, a co-worker and friend of mines had the same experience but much worst. Her husband was a Grocery manager at a competitors store for more than three years, and he also applied for a position at this Harris Teeter. After he did not receive any response to his application, he went to the store to talk to the hiring manager. The hiring manager refused to come out of the office and talk to him, she told another worker in the store to say that the positions were filled already. I really hate to feel that this local Harris Teeter is prejudice, but it appears that the applicants that are of African American descent are not being treated fairly. We have decided not to shop at this location anymore due to mistreatment of African American applicants.

please consider carrying a nitrate free turkey bacon. your competitors in Charlotte are offering this (Earth Fare and Trader Joe's). This would be a great option for families trying to eat fewer nitrates. Thanks you. Sloane Mayberry, Charlotte

Your store in Charlotte NC ( Harris Blvd ) Store # 167 has the worst store personell in my history of shopping. The customer srvice workers are incompetant, cannot add or subtract if there is a problem, incompetent on the register and outright ignorant to say the very least. I beleive that the workers are racist towards black people using coupons, they scrutinize more black shoppers than whites. I sat and watch this go on for about 30 minutes as this was my own observation. This has happen in Harris Teeter on George lyles Parkway, Concord NC and Rocky River in Charlotte. The store on Mallard creek is the worst store I have ever been in. Its dark, dreary looking, poor lightning, old and reeks of a bad odor. The Manager Mr. Wilson is no better, he is very polite however unprofessional and bias. The coupon policy states that you can use two manyfacturer coupons. The cashier Bartly a white male was treating me with disrespect. I handed him my coupons and was within policy and he immediately called the manger Wilson, as thi swas going own there was another holdup on the next register black women white cashier scutinizing her coupons. I noticed another line a white women with an excessive amount of coupons by a white male cashier and was not question at all. I observed all of this as the cashier in Uscan was awaiting the manger, he was busy addressing the other black women issues. The line was super long and the other patrons was getting very frustrated. My 4 coupons was ultimatly denied as Wilson deemed then copied just why the cashier called him over. The coupons were not copied as they were printed from my computer. I was very upset about this as I explained my disatisfaction with him. I advised Wilson and the cashier of my intentions and he stated he could not accept the coupons. Let me be very clear I am a well to DO person finacially, spiritually and was not upset about not getting the food, but just being accused of something that I did not do. What constitutes a copied coupon, I asked him. His comment was it's is too dark. Wow, this experience as being my second in this store was unbeilvable and unconscionable. I hope that they stop being racist towards black people using coupons. I also hope that they stop stereotyping and treat all customers a like. What goes for one goes for all. If you scrutinize black people you should scrutinize white people and any and all colrs for that matter. Its not about black, white, indian, spanish or any other ethnic background. HARRIS TEETER GET YOUR STUFF IN ORDER. HAD I BEEN AN UNDERCOVER BOSS AND EXPERIENCED THIS, I WOULD HAVE FIRED WILSON AND THE CASHIER ON THE SPOT. I'M SORRY THE MANAGER IS BLACK, SO AM I DOES IT MATTER. WRONG IS WRONG, RIGHT IS RIGHT.

We had a very poor experience with Coleen the Floral Manager at Harris Teeter at Landsdowne, Virginia. We had a floral consult concerning wedding flowers, I read on Wedding Wire they were good, and less expensive than Wegmans. Colleen is not up to doing a wedding. Save your time and Money. She never showed for our appointment which had been confirmed and never called to apologize or reschedule. After talking to the manager he went on about how busy they were with Prom. Colleen will stay with the Prom crowd, she is not up to a wedding. This is why florist probably are the way to go. Just thought we would try something different. Be forwarned.

YOUR STORE IN HENDERSONVILLE NC, IS THE WORST EXCUSE FOR A GROCERY STORE I HAVE EVER SEEN! THE MANAGERS (KEN CASTEEL,STORE DIRECTOR),(CHERI OSTEEN, SOME TYPE OF MANAGER). ARE CRAZY. IM SERIOUS. THEN THEY LIED TO OUR FACE AND MADE UP A BUNCH OF CRAP AND TO TRY AND DISCRIMINATE AGAINST US. I WISH I COULD AFFORD AN ATTORNEY. PLEASE DO NOT SHOP AT THIS LOCATION. WHY ARE THE PEOPLE AT CORPERATE TO CHICKEN TO CALL US? HEY KROGER BUILD YOUR STORES ACROSS FROM HARRIS TEETER AND I PROMISS YOU WILL GET ALL THERE CUSTOMERS! READ THESE OTHERS COMPLAINTS. SOUNDS LIKE A PATTERN.

I tink it is a damn shame when a customer has to call corporate headquarters because Harris teeter csn not return a pint size cottage cheese that was spoiled because I didnt have my receipt..............NOT TO MENTION THE FACT THAT I HAD TO TRAVEL THERE TWO TIMES...............................

In this day and age of identity theft, why would anyone give out their Driver's License number to a grocery store for a VIC card? Why do they need it? Boycott Harris Teeter and don't be a SHEEP until the VIC policy changes. BTW, Harris Teeter puts cookies onto your computer (confirmed on their site) and follows your habits. A stupid grocery store does not need your DRIVERS LICENSE NUMBER stored in their system.

I shop at various Harris Teeters in the Raleigh/Durham area. For the most part, they have great good and great customer. The exception would be the Harris Teeter on the corner of Kildaire Farm Road and Ten Ten. This store does have good managers but the seafood seems to always be spoiled or smells like amonia when cooked. I have taken seafood back several time and have been treated by one manager (only) as if I stole something. She is short, dark hair and appears to be latino. She's always when dealing with me and my returns. I stopped shopping there for most items. That's too bad, the store is a nice one with generally nice people. I will not recommend this store to my friends.

I have worked for Harris Teeter at the Beau Rivage Market place for about a year now. For the most part the staff is very nice, and most of the managers know what there doing and do it well. However one manager fails to perform most to all of their duties, and that is the Office Director/Store Manager. He mostly does nothing other than hide in his room, and when he does emerge from out behind his desk, he puts on a show of checking price tags for unneeded clarity or inspecting shelves that are obviously to par. In all my days of working there I have never seen him be kind to a customer or a coworker. He treats everyone as if they were some sort of infestation that he just has to deal with on a daily basis. Everyone that has come in contact with his intolerable treatment, have said that they have never been talked down to so much in their life. When Steve is a bad mood he not only barks, but he gains a bit of a bite, getting in your face about even the pettiest manors, regardless if a customer is present or not. I have had numerous customers come up to me and tell me that they would almost refuse to shop at that location if it wasn't for nice helpful cashiers.

Very bad customer service, the people who work there are very bad at their jobs.

how can i get a schedule of the 2011 training sessions for managment.

I'm pasting here a copy of email I sent to Plumrose foods: Right now I live in Revere, MA 02151 - and I purchased your ribs (16 oz. pkg) at a local Market Basket supermarket in Chelsea MA, for $3.99 and they were DELICIOUS! My problem is, I'll be moving down to Raleigh, NC next week in the 27612 zip code. So I searched for a store that carries those ribs, and the only store I could find was Harris Teeter - and they charge $8.49 for the same pkg. of your 16 oz. pkg. Plumrose fully cooked pork baby back ribs!! Really! More than twice the price I pay here in Massachusetts. Can you tell me what other stores in the metro area of zip code 27612 I might be able to purchase these ribs at a better price? I don't think you can control what other stores charge for your food, but I definitely would not buy them from Harris Teeter, and I would so love to share these delicious ribs with some of my friends and family who moved down before me.

why is store #201 has higher prices than other stores they need to clean to that store looks like its been turned over

I Frequently visit Adams Farm in Greensboro, NC. The manager is unfriendly and indifferent. He recently bagged my groceries and never even looked up at me. The guy in produce with red hair only speaks when spoken to. The meat dept. Seems to try not to make eye contact and if asked for a special request acts like it is a bother and high maintenance. There is a bagger who only talks if you ask for him to take to your car! You need a private shopper to evaluate these employees! The manager should at LEAST look happy you came in. There is no one to help you find items you have no idea where to look. Essentially, customer service is NOT a priority! The check out teenagers are the only friendly employees there! watch out....Whole Foods will eat your lunch when they get here!

Harris Teeter is the best supermarket I have shopped at. Please come back to Georgia.

I happened to stumble on the comment of being offended in not getting the physical ADs. Things change and the internet has now become the economical way to get information out there. I think it is great HT is cost conscious and can give us their customers the possible savings. It is how a business must operate. They are higher but with so many Buy One - Get One Free options, they are hard to beat in price and their staff is well trained thanks to Nancy Bell and their training staff. Life is too short to be offended by ChANGE which is inevitable. Either you're changing or your rotting! I prefer changing!

My rating of Harris Teeter is a 5 (more like a 100). To me and my friends who shop there feel the same way. I've shopped at HT for 50 years; all the way back when it's name was Colonial Stores. It has been very friendly, welcoming and we all love our Harris Teeter stores; wouldn't even consider another grocery store. BEfore I shop, I go to their website and or have picked up their weekly advertisement prior. They have great specials ~ ~ ~

I'm quite disappointed to not have access to weekly advertisement in the newspaper. As a regular shopper, I use the weekly ad to make my grocery list and carry it with me to the store. I am quite offended that I now have to access thru the internet. Its apparent that Harris Teeter no longer has the customers as a priority

great place ... a bit expensive but quality is really good!
