I had my taxes filed on January 30,2013 and attempted to check my refund status in New York after the 48 hour wait period. I gave it 7 more days before I contacted my h&r block agency in Ballston Spa, NY. I was informed they had no documentation on my filing my taxes though I have the complete return copy I was given. I do not understand how I e filed and nothing has gone through. they want me to bring my information to refile. I feel I deserve my return immediately and my taxes done at no charge. please handle this matter promptly.

Years of loyalty

I have been a loyal Customer for over 15 years. I have always Referred my family, friends, and coworkers to your business. Every year I apply for the Christmas Line of Credit and Every year I am approved, until last year (2011). I just left one of your location with yet another Denial. The reason was my credit. Now keep in mind I gave been with you guys ever since I started working as a young adult, I am now in my 30s and have never had a problem with being accepted for the Christmas loan, I always file on time and pay it back. Honestly as a young adult I've done something's to hurt my credit but its alot better then it was a few years ago when I wasapproved. Never the less I Truthfully feel and A lot of orhers agree that for the returning customers who are faithful and on time, there should be some kind of loyalty back, I mean it is our business that keeps you in business and one if your programs that US loyal customers look forward to is the Christmas Loan, to get some of our money Now and of course you get your share of it as well! You should really put into consideration those who have been filing with your company for years who deserve and need the line of credit. Even your workers are upset by alot of the returning dedicated customer turn downs. I have never filed anywhere except H&R BLOCK but I think I'm going to do what Alot of the others H&R Block customers are, and that is take my tax/ needs and concerns else where. The economy has a lot going on for hard working dedicated people not to be recognized. I assure you that I don't not stand alone but to have a happy successful business you most Definitely Need happy and dedicated customers.

Everybody over here pays inomce tax as along as they have an inomce (aka salary from work.) The more you earn, the more tax you pay on it, of course. It goes up to 50% if you make 60k Euro per year. But even if you make only about 1,000 Euro per month, you still end up with paying ~25% of it as tax every month. And guess what money's not enough either way. I'm actually getting tired of saying this all the time. Look, the taxes here are so and so high, and we still don't have enough money to feed the government. It's getting tiresome. And yeah, we do have VAT (up to 20%) and inomce tax. And fuel tax. And ah forget it. It just makes me angry. You'll get that too, eventually and it won't change a damn thing because politicians don't care.

H&R Block is nothing but a sick joke...paid them to complete and submit tax returns that were never even submitted to the IRS. If my company repeatedly committed such serious and irresponsible actions, there would be severe consequences. This company, however, seems to commit the same errors to so many customers year after year without consequence. All we can do is report them and continue to let others know about the dangers of filing with H&R Block.

They managed to screw up my 2010&2011 tax returns. Then when I went in for my piece of mind claim the incompetent person doing it didn't even turn my claim in for almost 3 weeks after I was in there......& dear god don't even bother trying to get help or ask them to try & speed up the process cause they can't even tell you who or where the checks come from! This is the most incompetent company in the country their left hand doesn't know what the right one is doing!!!! So if you want the run around & horrible customer service go to h&r but if you want anything done promptly & correctly go to turbo tax & do you're own taxes! ! This company is a piece of shit & will never get another penny from me!!!!

this is not write i went to file e file with hr block.i never receive my tax i call hr block over 10 times each time they say call IRS. i ask them can they review my taxes. in see whats missing. they said every thing was file write on my taxes. they charge me 250 dollars. for 1000thousand.i had to do all my paper my self. had to call IRS my self spent hours on phone. i fax over papers. that was giving to hr block. Micheal king told me he didn't need the paper to file. i said yes i think you do. he roll his eye at me.and now its7 months later. i got my taxes. but now they want lot me get my money they said my card had a hold on it. because i owe a dollar. but they took the 250 on it. this is so wrong i think they should pay me i did all the work. and refund my 250.

I have to say I’m disappointed to say the least the way this is going. I found out after 2 weeks of trying to contact the H&R office that they had not submitted my taxes and I was told that H&R Block would pay for any late fees & penalties. When I spoke to them next, I was told that I had to pay upfront and a reimbursement would be sent to me in 3 weeks. Then I was emailed about an abatement form, it’s now been almost 4 weeks since I found out the taxes were not filed and now I get a voicemail and it sounds as if there will be no reimbursement until certain steps have been followed through. In the meantime, I am the one who is out all this money, even though I paid fully for this service and went in early March to ensure my taxes would be completed in plenty of time. I have put in a complaint with Consumer Affairs and I’m also contacting the Better Business Bureau to let them know that the claim on your website is not abided by. What did I pay for, by using your company I am out $6,000+ and now it sounds like getting the money is going to be a battle, it’s ridiculous.

in 2008, joe kern made a mistake calculating my return. this return included an ira withdrawl. after meeting my tax guy at hamilton nj, i had met with other hrblock tax people who to this day, have not completede the amended return for me. i did purchase the protection plan. all the while, the fourth tax pro at hrblock says twice,"i dont know what to do, i dont know what to do. Im in hock with the irs for about 500.00. interest is continuing to grow on my account. the guy then says to my mother who was with me that she is going to be a pain in the --- and call monday, then youre going to call again wednessday ect ect, mom breaks in and says "no" you are gtoing to call us after you fix your mistake......so here i am its gonna be august and hr block is still screwing around....

I am stunned at reading the responses of others. While I know that every corporation, especially one as large as H&R Block, will make a mistake here and there and the preparers will miss something here or there but, the reviews I am reading sound as if you are trying to shift the blame from something that was your own fault and on to them. Take some personal responsibility in the process. If you don't like the fee of $200-$400, you don't have to sign the return. When I first formed an LLC, my accountant was charging me $3,000 a year for my tax return. JUST THE TAX RETURN - not bookkeeping. H&R Block charged me just over $400 and I got the Peace of Mind. I had them reviewed just to make sure because it was done in 2 hours which the accountant took a week. They were fine. I have been audited before and H&R Block handled the whole thing and no mistakes were found and nothing happened. So when I see reviews saying that you did them online with H&R Block and it "somehow" just happened to file... YOU PRESSED THE DAMN OK BUTTON. It isn't HRB, it is you. Now one year I did go to someone at Block that didn't know what they were doing and as soon as I noticed she was slower than she should have been, I got up with my papers, went to the front desk, and I asked for a more seasoned pro with experience with business returns. No problem. No fuss. I waited and got seated with someone else and they were done in less than an hour. Don't blame HRB for keeping your check when you admit that your husband isn't paying child support. That is the law protecting his children, not HRB. You have a dead beat husband, it is not HRB's fault. Check the pricing with competitors. HRB is cheaper than the big companies like Jackson Hewitt but more expensive than the people operating out of their home with no business insurance and no resources for bigger jobs. I also learned you don't go to a CPA for taxes, they specialize in acCOUNTING your money, not determining how it should be taxed. Enrolled Agents are tax specialists, not bookkeepers. Their tax exam is more difficult than the CPA exam. HRB hires lots of Enrolled Agents. Make sure you get one when you go if you have a complicated return.

I would also rate a zero if possible! I had been a loyal customer for years then in 2009 they messed up my taxes. I had to return the next fast to do an amendment, the lady who had done my taxes the day before had been let go.... Now two and a half years later I am fighting with h&r block and the Ira because they screws up my taxes and now I owe the IRS more money! I have lost a portion of my copy of the return, they can not find me in their computers, they saidI obviously didn't do my taxes with them. They said the paperwork I had doesn't mean anything. The IRS says that it was mailed in... Yes I mailed it in because I had gotten the first time home buyers credit. I had to mail off a coot of the paperwork. I had even paid for the extra protection.

i need alittle help from your service based on overages. The problem is my bank charged me 138 in dollar bills for a harper woods transaction done by your tax office on 3/20/12; i now need to see if you guys aftyer the calls and e-mailsd can have me rwefunded for 218.00 dollars in fees and 138 dollars in returnable fees please consider the problem and make some changes because i have over draft pro i n=know they recieve a recieveable before it,and for ratings I rate you guys as best but have to lose the autmation calc system.Because Ive have my taxes done as myself and came out on top in percentage fee valid.

After doing my tax they charged me $458.00. Needless to say the process they follow is all set up in there system...so it's not like it's rocket science. So why are they so expensive? I believe it's because they are using us suckers to pay for there business expansion. Needless to say, next year I will not be going back to them.

I have been with H&R Block about 17 yrs. Yes! 17!!!! & for the most part have been satisfied. With a few glitches here & there. This year has been not only the worst H&R Block experience for me but the worst customer service experience I have ever had. I have posted my dilike on my facebook wall of what happened to all 1,200 of my FB friends. So do the math. Each of my friends have at least 200 friends. That's allot of bad publicity!! My tax returns I did online this year. Bad mistake! The lady I was speaking to kept telling me that this was her 1st time doing online taxes & altho the service is an H&R block service she had not been trained on some of the ways of downloading Doc etc; We got disconnected maybe 10 times to which I had to re-login then locate her in the vast network of online tax reps. After 2 hours she began pulling other reps over saying I don't know if I'm doing this right? Can you help me with this? & How does this work? Needless to say I was very worried my taxes wouldn't be done correctly. She said it would be 7-14 days before I would get my returns. after 15 days I called the IRS. They told me they had no record of my taxes being turned in & nothing was pending. So I called H&R block. It took 2 days to find & leave a message for Tracey Lee my preparer. When she called me back she stated she had made a terrible mistake & had "accidentally not sent my taxes in" She said I am so sorry I have done it today & I apologize. I was freaking out because I had several major bills I had to pay & had planned on receiving them when she said I would. I then had to wait another 2 weeks. I called to request to have my preparation fee refunded. & since H&R block brag about "Satisfaction Guarantee I had no doubt they would honor what they advertised. This was back in Feb. I have had more than a dozen agents call me to tell me my case is "still pending" So a Man named Richard who is a franchise owner called & left me a message saying he had reviewed my case & he was the person who would decide whether I recvd my preparation fee & he saw where it seemed I had gotten my taxes back within 10-14 days. He was looking at the time it took once Ms Lee had actually sent them correctly. There was no record prior because they had just been prepared not sent!!! HeEELLLOOooooOO!!!!! The whole problem to begin with. His message (vmail) stated he saw no cause for a refund! & it was his decision. I called customer service & explained again for the god knows how many times & said This Richard person had left this vmail & I needed to speak with a supervisor re my case, not this guy because his vmail was rude & he seemed to have already made up his mind. This is the part I don't get! WHEN DID SATISFACTION GUARANTEE MEAN, UNLESS SOMEONE DISAGREES WITH YOU NOT BEING SATISFIED!!!???? I AM NOT I REPEAT NOT SATIDFIED WITH THE PREPARATION OF MY TAXES OR THE DELAY IN GETTING THEM BACK!!! NOT AT ALL!!! 5 mins after I hung up with customer care where I was assured this Richard guy wouldn't call me back my phone rings & guess who? Richard! Richard was the reason I say this was the worst customer service experience of my life which is saying allot I'm 44. Richard began to talk over me raise his voice & argue. I was very respectful to him. I kept asking him to stop talking over me so I could explain what happened. Richard then sai & I quote, "Oh Ok Ok I see your one of those WOMEN who have to be dominant!" I said, "What!? Oh my god. What did you say?" He stated this horrific very discriminatory statement again. I said, "Excuse me! Is this being recorded?" Richard, "Oh, you bet it is!" I then said, "Wow ok you do realize you cannot speak to people this way right?" Richard, " I'll speak however I want to." Me, " I need to speak to a supervisor, owner your boss. Someone in charge." Richard, "Yes, because your such a victim, but your so mean & dominant at the same time!" I then hung up on this man. I called yet again to try to get help. I was told Richard was the owner of his own franchise & I had to get approval for a preparation refund directly from him. I then asked to speak to whoever was over him. The customer service rep told me she could see in her notes where Richard admitted he "probably wasn't as professional with me as he could have been." This was discrimination pure & simple. I am still waiting 2 weeks later for someone (besides Richard) to call me! I WILL NEVER & I DO MEAN NEVER USE H&R BLOCK AGAIN AS MY TAX PREPARERS THEY'VE LOST A 17 YEAR LOYAL CUSTOMER! I HAVE A BUSINESS IN MY CITY & HAVE AN NATI-H&R BLOCK SIGN ON MY OFFICE WALL! I TELL EVERYONE I COME IN CONTACT WITH! EVERYONE! I HAVE BEEN TREATED BEYOND HORRIBEL!!! BEYOND DISRESPECTFUL! BEYOND UNFAIR. I PRAY TO GOD MY CONVERSATION WITH RICHARD WAS RECORDED SO AOMEONE WITH SOME AUTHORITY WILL LISTEN TO THE WAY HE SPOKE TO ME!! DEPLORABLE! IF THERE WAS A - SCALE TO RATE YOUR SERVICES TRUST ME YOU'D GET -5 FROM ME!

I would give "0" if I could. I have been doing my own for a few years using H&R Block on-line services. This year once completed they over charged me by $89.90. Not only did they over charge by that amount, once the receipt was printed out there's no sign of them giving me my state refund. I called the number given to me and they put me off on H&R Bank to get my refund and H&R Bank said they didn't take care of refunds and sent me back the original number. I then was told by the supervisor to take it higher and I asked for a reference number. She said sure, placed me on hold never to return. I was on the phone call for an hour and nothing is resolved. Will start over again. This company does not stand behind their product.

HR Block takes advantage of their customers. Just to file for my fiance's taxes costed us 213.00, we were only going to get 600.00 back on the first place. We even told the worker that we have our first child on our way. When the worker told us the price of 213.00 I said I did not know what to to and do not have that much money on me right now. She only informed my fiance and I that we could take the fee out of is tax return. We were never informed that we had the option to back out of the process until we were given our printed paper work. Instead we were pressured that paying this 30% fee was our only option. How could such a large corporation take advantage of people who are short on money? DO NOT GO TO HR BLOCK!! THEY ARE DISHONEST, THEY ARE A SCAM AND DESPERATE FOR NAIVE CUSTOMERS TO PREY ON DURING SUCH A HARD ECONOMY!!!

I have spent hundreds of dollars year and year with this joke company. I had to go and get a copy of my taxes from a prior year . They charged me about 30 dollars for a copy . For a few pieces of paper . Your company is greedy and a joke. Because this company was so greedy you lost not only my business but everyone I told as well. Hope it was worth it. After reading these complaints seems to me this company lost slot of business. Wish this company stop emailing me. I think your company is a joke.

Anyone who uses this company needs their heads examined. What a rip off company they are. As for "Peace of Mind" insurance, don't bother. You will never get your claim paid. I am having to file with Small Claim court. How can a company get away with putting it in writing that they may the error and then refuse to pay. I am out over $3500.00 from their mistakes and being charged interest by the IRS. I would have been better off doing my own taxes!!!

from the looks of things it seems to be just like everyone else complaints this year i went to file my taxes all to find out that it was rejected by the irs because the father of my grandaughter used her social and tried to claim her, well to make a long story short i ended up filing an amendment tax retn that had to be mail to irs, no problem, did that it was finally released on the 7th of march it was filed on 1/27/12 i then find out that the tax preparer open up a ral account so the funds were deposited back to hr block, i called and was told that its under review due to fraud i have called everyday since the deposit was made and have yet to receive my money WILL NEVER USE H & R BLOCK AGAIN AFTER BEING A CUSOTMER FOR OVER 20 YEARS the worse service ever!

My experience with my local H&R Block, doesn't seem to be very far off from other complaints I have read. My Husband and I went in on Feb 4, 2012 and filed our taxes. We paid $290.00, for them to file them. I have to file Injured Spouse do to my Husbands prior debts, so we go through all the paperwork, I sign, all that good stuff. Well, my anticipated date was Feb 15th, then it got pushed to Feb 29th. On the 29th, or status went from drop time 12pm, to "no info available at this time". I called thje IRS to find out what happened, and here, the IDIOT that did my taxes did NOT file my injured spouse paperwork. So ALL of my money I earned was being held for my Husbands prior debts. When I went up to H&R Block to talk to the woman who did my taxes, she "swore" to me, she filed my papers. So when I asked for a copy of my filed paperwork, the woman brought out a I. S. paper dated Feb 29th!! I said, I want a copy of the ORIGINAL filed paper from the 4th, and she tried to feed me a line about, when you reprint the paperwork, it prints out the date you are reprinting it. I'm not stupid, and she tried to make it out to be I didn't know what was going on. Now, because SHE screwed up, Im supposed to refile my I. S. papers, and I have to copy ALL of my tax return papers for this tax season, and send them into the IRS, so they can make sure they were filed correctly. But, on top of that, H&R Block refuses to give back my money I paid them to file my stuff correctly, and I still may not get my taxes at all, because they "may have already paid" my Husbands debt!!! So, I have to wait 45 business days from the date the IRS receives my paperwork, and the process it, to find out if I even get anything, AND they don't know how I will receive it, whether it go to my account, like its supposed too, or if I getting a check!! I will NEVER ever use H&R Block again!!
