70 Reviews For Goodwill Headquarters & Corporate Office

I spent hours bidding on Ralph Lauren Jacket, won the bid from Goodwill Industries of Kanawha Valley, Inc., pay my money; after about 5-7 days and few annoying email, I was told they could not locate the Jacket. All that come to my mind is either the jacket became human being and left UN-trusting human left with it through the backdoor. I though they were working for non-profit?

the manager at the goodwill in miami located at at nw 21st and 21ave hates cubans and mistreated an african american employee her name is olga she refused to give me an item that was marked at .50 cents and wanted $50.00 for this item. she is a rude nasty women and should not be working with the public. i have been a customer for many years and no longer will be shopping there.

I'm just appalled at Goodwill for how they have treated her because of a clerical air on her part while working as a cashier at their Parker and Bellevue store in Aurora Colirado. Not only did they take her in an office and harrass her for over an hour with the police there both they and the manager calling here a theif and demanding she admit guilt with out one one ounce of evidence against her and her manage making snide remarks in front of her was suspended and told to call back in three days which today she did but her manage said he hadn't heard from corporate yet even tho they were so sure she stole from the store. Look my wife might have made a mistake but to be treated like a criminal with out any evidence is wrong and now we have our attorney's waiting for Goodwill to make their mind if shes a crook and she got a ticket from the police as well. A lot of customers are very upset not seeing their favorite cashier working and so are fellow employees so thats ok we have attorneys telling us some US laws were broken in how she was treated so we will see but shame on yoj Goodwill my wife has turned keys, purses, wallets and never stole anything.

I would guess from all the postings that I am not the only one who thinks Goodwill is a big rip off. Last year they opened one in Shelton, WA. I was so excitied because I shopped at the one in Bonney Lake, WA and loved them, but this one in Shelton sells things that I can o to Walmart accross the street for much less. I also can drive 20 minutes and go to Olympia to that Goodwill and feel like I am getting a deal, not ripped off. I am amazed that they get away with what they get away with. This is the worst Goodwill I have ever encountered, this one in Shelton, WA.

The mgr of the belton missouri goodwill really needs to be trained on the industries mission statement and values! I was so embarresed and humiliated that i wont purchase or donate another item! I purchased a $3.99 childs backpack, later that evening i realized it was defective I returned it the next day and wanted to EXCHANGE it for another backpack i also was purchasing an additional $20.00+ more when the sales clerk misplaced my reciept the mgr accused me of not having a receipt and not buying the item there because they wouldnt have sold a item in that condition which was clearly the reason i was returning it to begin with! then when the clerk found my receipt and showed it to her that i was charged for the backpack she still didnt believe me!! there were customers in line behind me, my children were with me and this woman was telling me to come back the next day to verify that i purchased a 3.99 backpack there from their! (ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!) I WONT EVER GO BACK this isnt even about the back pack now its about the principal of being accused of trying to steal from the goodwill i have never returned an item before and only wanted to exchange it because my reciept said i had 7 days

Goodwill claims 84% of profits go to their job creation programs. This is a lie. They use dishonest math. They manipulate what counts as expenditure and profit to obtain a number that they think produces good PR for themselves.

I am sick and tired of the employees of certain Oregon Goodwill stores. They openly favor the large groups of mexicans that frequent the stores. I was texting my sister one day while I was in a GW store, and the manager came up to me and tried to take my phone away from me. He said that "googling for values isn't allowed". I WAS TEXTING. Not that it matters, because this "rule" is something he made up on the fly and no one else had ever heard of it. Anyway, when he tried to take my phone away, I asked him why the mexicans are allowed to use portable scanners to scan all the books. He told me it was a "racial issue". He's afraid the mexicans will cause a stir if they're not allowed to do whatever they want. They can have their dogs in their carts (the only dogs allowed by others are service dogs), they can let their bratty kids run around everywhere (no one else can), and their kids wear poopy diapers for hours on end (so everyone else gets the pleasure of smelling it). It seems like they cater to the mexicans because they buy carts full of clothes and books for resale. YOU KNOW WHAT? "Other" people would too, if they weren't subjected to your tyrranical managment and the mexicans pushing, shoving, and literally spitting at you to get to the "goods". It's sickening.

This EDGAR is another way to mae big bucks. How come you never see and local help to people in the community where the profits come from. THIS IS A BIR COMPANY THAT IS CROOKED. WHY DO WE NOT OPOEN OUR EYES AND SEE WHAT THIS BUSINESS IS REALLY ABOUT. PEOPLE HELPING PEOPLE ISN,T NEVER SHOWN TO THOS EWHO REALLY SUPPORT GOODWILL. ALSO WHAT ABOUT ALL THE THINGS THEY TRASH THAT IS DONATED. WHY???? can't it be sold as is. They are crafted and people who would but some of these itemsd. WHO MAKESSOME OF THE DECISIONS>

JUST POSTED A THOUGHT AND MADE MY VIEW AVAILABLE AND YOU HAVE TO WAIT FOR IT TO BE APPROVED. ANOTHER VERY GOOOD EXAMPLE HOW THE BUSINESS OPERATES. COME ON PEOPLE OPEN YOUR EYES. I AM SURE YOU WILL HAVE SOME KIND OF POLICY THAT YOU HAVE CREATED TO MAKE THIS UNAVAILABLE TO BE STATED TO BE KNOWN TO THE PUBLIC. I WILL BE MAKING MY VIEW MADE IN OTHER WAYS. WHAT YOU THINK IF I SAID THERE ISMORE THAN ONE WAY TO DO TINGS.

Goodwill is another corporation trying to monopolize , they say they arenon profit , sure they are...any time you get these corportions going its just another ponzi scheme...Sure they create jobs like all the other corps but the pay is low a 10cents an hour raise after a year.Seems like most of the big money they make is skimmed off buy the top people...and the people below get paid minimum wage. Just another corporation plaing the monopoly in a bust economy. Sure they create jobs , but in the end the pay is so low that people will be living off the government in the long run.

i been workin here for a couple of months an didnt mind in the begining .1st i would like to say that im a processor an we derserve WAY more than 7.65 /hr a man came and did a speech to us sayin how we make good will and how we make more stores and all this why we get paid so much the UESED items are OVER priced..i want to say that our mangers are MEAN you cant even ask them nothing without you thinking you will get fired the next day. my manager does NOTHING we didnt gloves or goggles and never tells us if we make our quato they all walk around with there sour as faces like its the end of the world we need people we feel comfortable talking to and not feel awakward around who can i go to if i can go to them....EMPLOYEES HAVE NO VOCIES AT WORK . managers dat need to be replaced, VERN,ADAM, KAREN,TOBE these people DONT like there employees and wat can we say if we do we get FIRED

I would like to say that the prices at my local goodwill stores are outrageous on non-clothing items! The store closest to me (Brevard, NC) has things just thrown on the shleves, they can't even take the time to make the merchandise look presentanle. Stuff is just thrown on top of other things, there is a total lack of organization to placing things on the shleves. There is so much stuff piled up...I'm guessing because the prices are ridiculous so therefore no one buys it, making for a huge clutter. As for the clothes, I buy most of my kids' clothes at Goodwill, but I do have to say that some of the clothes need to be in $0.25-$.50 bins because I for one will not pay $2.00 for a shirt with holes or stains nor would I buy jeans for $3.00 with holes and stains....those types of clothes would be suitable for 'play' clothes and aren't worth paying more than $.50 for. I also want to add that I saw a NICE school desk in perfect condition out behind my local goodwill store and asked how much it was....the worker outside told me they were not allowed to sell any itmes that they remove from the store and place outside, he said they are required to throw those items in the dumpster for trash. I then asked him if they were just gonna throw it away if I could have it, he replied with a no, that they have to throw it away they aren't allowed to take an item back inside for resale once they have removed it from the floor and taken outside. Furious at this, I went inside the store and asked the cashier if I could possibly buy this desk because I thought it was absolutely STUPID that they would just take something in that good of condition and throw it away due to some stupid rule that has been made. She went back to the back and talked the man who refused to let me buy it, they talked for about 5 minutes and she came out the desk for me to buy. She said they aren't supposed to do that, but she would this time for me. This really irritates me because I have a family of 6 and I donate to goodwill all the time and after this situation, I will NEVER donate to goodwill again....I will donate to another place that does not throw items in the trash. I think if it doesn't sell in the store after a certain amount of time of the item being there, then LOWER the price, or donate the item to another organizatiom instead of throwing it away!!

I use to work at goodwill in Austin tx. And the stuff that they put into the stores are horrible I have seen shoes with red paint all over them. Why sell stuff like this at the stores to people. And the pay role department is so rude and the employess steal the donations.I would never donate to goodwill

After reading some of the comments, I can say that is very true. If items are price high, I just don't buy. But afterall I have gotten good deals on many items. For those prople who would stop donating to the goodwill and give there donations to the Salvation Army, well they are the same. They are all about business and making money, not helping or giving things away. When companies donate the nice items to the Salvation Army, this items go to a wharehouse where the Salvation Army officers and there families get to shop for free for what they want. The leftovers then go to the stores. I used to work at a Salvation Army Office and heard of this... The employees were never told of these store. It was just for the officers and there families. Is all about the money.

Not all disabled people work for you, like me, who are on a fixed income and barely able to keep food on the table all month. You exploit your employees in order to make more money off of the fact they are disabled and it is a pathetic way of doing business. It use to be if you had spent $200.00 in the store you received $10.00 off next purchase. Now you have to spend $400.00. I won't see that until I'm dead!! I have compared your prices to that of new items, and stopped thinking your store wopuld be a good deal. You pull all of the colored tags that will be on sale the next week, to prevent anyone from getting something for a good price. That is a very cheap shot!! Yours is a billion dollar business, but quess what? God has a bigger business than you could ever imagine, and one day you will pay, so you might as well get prepared to get cheated right back!!

I have been to many Goodwill stores across the country, and have donated many things to several, because I was under the assumtion, as many people are, that it was a charity organization. Most of the items for sale are donations from people and are given freely. Several times now I have picked up items to look at and the goodwill price is more than what the original store price was. Poor people shop there for used items because they cannot afford new. The Goodwill organization is not only misleading the people that give to them they are basically fleecing the poor. Used items should be quite a bit more affordable considering they are used and certainly not more there then when they were new. All stores need to review there pricing and get a grip. I have recently gone on a mission to let everyone and anyone I know to not shop at goodwill and stop giving to them, until things change for the better.

Recently bought a loft bed frame--not a mattress--from Goodwill. It was in very nice condition and I was excited to find it. After sleeping on the bed for a couple of nights my son was covered in a red bumpy rash. After much investigation we discovered the bed frame was infested with BED BUGS!!! Now they have spread in our house and it will cost us hundreds and hundreds of dollars to deal with this problem. For the prices Goodwill charges they can be more careful about inspecting their furniture. Completely INEXCUSABLE!!! You can be sure the corporate offices will be hearing from us as well as the news media!

I wanted to give a compliment to the lady working in the Chesapeake Ohio Goodwill location. She is a African American , and a blessing to my mother and myself. I want to say her name is Corina or something like that. I took my mom in there to shop, she is very sick, this lady is a Christian lady and she did everything she could to accommodate both of us, she is a wonderful lady, her professionalism and kindness was an example I wish I could see in more people.
