Make smart decision no to GE

I have GE washer dryer few years old still under warranty always have issues specially with the washer even the technician couldn't figured out what the problem is.2 different technician working on it for the last 30 days looks like it rocket science or atomic washing machine by GE that can't be fixed shame on them.The customer service sucks as well there are so many different departments that I have to go through to complain or order for service.This is the last GE product in my house I promise.To all GE directors and CEO's and engineers I m really really sorry for making mistake buying GE PRODUCT and there warranty at the 1st first place.NO TO GE FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE .shame shame shame

littlleton, NH Home Depot & General Electric & Wilkins Plumbing A/C on 10-16-2012 purchased GE Dishwasher & hot water heater to thisday and time neither has worked. HD uses Wilkens to fleece buyers form their funds also purchased 3 yr, warranty on dishwsher that will be cancelled shortly. In my humble opoinon GE should not be a partner to the HD/Wilkins scam. disheasher does not work hot water herater doesn'twork i call the HD number on their flyer and get Wilkins they say they will send technician and they do a day late for $99.00 ok he shows up a day late examines the hot water heater and without asking adjust inner temp controls for $l39.00 and then states because the water heater was not installed to code I needed a new water heater at $450.00 .? why adjust this waster heater if u want to replace it? this is just the tip of the tale...I am returning the dishwasher cancelling the 3 yr. warranty and nver doing business with the littleton NH Hd again.. I will continue to buy GE products.

worst frig

I bought a stainless steel frig andhave nothing but issues. I had the ice maker the first 6 months replaced twice. Finally the warranty was up and out goes the ice maker again. I have two ice makers in my home uline and I have never had any issues with them. The frig has parts that are just cracking I am really dissappointed with this frig. Now the ice maker is making noise but it does not make ice because I was not going to pay $400.00 dollars for a samsung icemaker that I was told was bad. I do however fill it with my uline icemakers ice.l Julie

Lousy recall notification and lousy warranty.

About six months ago,GE "recalled" over one million dishwashers due to a faulty heating element. When we purchased ours about three years ago, we submitted the customer registration information to GE both electronically and by mail. We STILL have not received any notification concerning the problem, by email or regular mail. No, we found out about it in the press, and called to have the repair made. HOWEVER, just to show you how much confidence GE has in its products, NOT TO MENTION ITS LACK OF GOOD WILL FOR THE INCONVENIENCE, guess the period of time GE was willing to warranty its new, replacement part. If you guessed more than thirty days, you'd be wrong. That's right, GE warranted the labor AND new part for only a paultry 30 days. What a disappointment for such a vaunted, quality company. Don't think so. They should be ashamed!

In August of this year I sent a letter to to the Vice President of GE and have never received a response. A new washer was installed in September 2010. Since that time I have had 4 replacement motors installed. Yes, GE will replace the washer for additional money. I have lost time at work waiting for repairman, I had to spend money and time to take my clothes to the laundrymat. At one point the washing machine was down for 3 weeks. The last time, August 2012, I was promised a check for $50.00 to reinburse me for my troubles. Still waiting. At what point is someone at GE going to realize they have spent more money replacing motors than giving me a new machine. Below is a copy of the letter: My daughter, purchased this washing machine in September, 2010. The washer was installed in the home September 30, 2010. The washer stopped spinning sometime at the end of February, 2011 or the beginning of March, 2011. After waiting two weeks, two GE repairmen came to the home and said they repaired the washer. My daughter started washing a load of clothes as soon as the repairmen left. The washer did not complete one cycle before the washer broke again. She had to wait another week for the repairmen to return. At this time, they replaced the motor. The repairmen also told my daughter that they had never had to replace a motor on a machine that was six months old. At the end of August, 2011, the washer stopped spinning again. I went on your web site to schedule an appointment for repair. Your site set me up with a local repairman. This repairman had the washer apart for two weeks, taking parts back to the shop. His final conclusion, we needed another new motor. Before I agreed to have him install a new motor, I called and talked to a representative at GE. As a GE employee I can say they are far worse than what you think! Like a post said all they care about is themselves! The new management no longer cares about its workers! IN ORDER TO REMAIN COMPETITIVE.. thats the poop you always hear!!

After the first floor of our home was destroyed by hurricane Katrina (we had just remodled 3 months earlier with all GE appliances) we rebuilt and had our contractor purchase all new GE appliances. We have had nothing but trouble with our GE Profile refrigerator with repeated repair calls. The latest, after three home visits by GE repair personnel, could not be repaired and the repairman suggested that GE should replace it free because of all the trouble we have had with it. I contacted GE appliances and was told (after numberous calls and conversations with different people each time) that they would not replace it free but agreed to give me a large discount on the purchas of a new one. I selected model GE PSHS6PGZSS and after much discussion was offered the unit for $1123 (tax and delivery). After considerable delay in delivery I was told that I had to relinquish the old unit. I indicated this was not in the agreement I made with GE (or at least not to my knowledge) and was then told they could not leave my new unit. I told them if that was the case then take it back. I then contacted GE appliances again and the rep informed me that I had to give them my old unit (for parts). I stated that it was not part of the original agreement I made and would not agree to send it back. After much conversation I simply told them to refund my money - now I have to wait to see how long that will take. An agreement is an agreement and it should be honored. If someone at Corporate Headquarters can't correct this I will never purchase another GE appliance. Will I get a response??? Thank you, Dale

i have bought ge products over many years, but, i am so disappointed with the washer i bought only 4 years ago. i had it serviced 2 years ago, and now, its not washing clothes adequately, not draining properly, and not spinning. I just bought a GE Stacking Washer and Gas Dryer. The gas dryer did not work, the GE repair person said it was wired for electric instead of Gas. I thought it would be inspected before shipping it out. Was it made on a Friday? Its been two weeks waiting for a wiring harness for a gas dryer. Its always something.

In addition to moving the headquarters,the company will invest $2 billion in China and train more than 65 engineers and create six research centers. I MYSELF WILL PULL MYSELF AWAY FROM THE LONG KNOWN GE "AMERICAN" BRAND FOR ONE OF THE OTHERS MADE HERE. Just like Hershey Chocolate, when they moved to Mexico. I vowed to never eat or buy a piece of Hershey Chocolate, AND I HAVEN'T!!!!! America made Hershey as the made GE. I will buy with my AMERICAN money, any other product NOT made by GE. That will include NOT using my Care Credit Card for Dental or Veterinarian care anymore!!! It IS disgusting how the greed has become so intense that they would choose to leave America, no matter what the taxes have become for them. WE ARE TAXED TOO!!!!!! All I have to say is GE Employees don't know how to do their jobs. All they do is give u the run around and say, We'll I appoligize for all your going through, really just get better employees and techs who know how to do their jobs.

On June 14, 2010, I purchased a new G.E. dehumidifier Model ADER65LNQ1; Serial #AT111164 for $242.74. It was used three months in 2010 and roughly 2.5 months in 2011. I plugged it in on July 23 of 2012, and left for a few days of vacation. Upon my return the area where the unit was operating still had very high humidity verified by the reading on the unit as well as a separate, personally owned humidistat. I called the dealership from whom I purchased the dehumidifier and was told they did not repair them. So I contacted G.E. Appliances. After several calls and disconnects, I finally was told G.E. would offer me a $50 rebate on a replacement G.E. dehumidifier. The rebate process has been started, however, I am very frustrated by this failure of a dehumidifier used for less than six (6) months in two years. The reason for making the purchase of the new G.E. model was to take advantage of its higher energy efficiency and capacity. I had a perfectly operational 32 year old Westinghouse dehumidifier that the new G.E. model was replacing. Your failed unit appears to me to be a compressor issue. I am a former research chemist and have sufficient skills to trouble shoot problems such as this due to my 47 years of experience working with “black box” analytical instrumentation. The electronics of the Model ADER65LNQ1 appeared to be fully operational, however when I looked into the compressor area after removing the rear cover, it was determined that the compressor was too hot to touch and the condenser was warm and no condensation had ever occurred in the five days it had been running. I was told that if the compressor was bad or the refrigerant had been lost it would be repaired by a certified G.E. repairman. Once the repair is effected the compressor and the work would be guaranteed for five (5) years. The charge just for the repairman to show up at my door is $89.95. That did not include parts or labor. I was also told that I could apply the $50 rebate towards the repair of my unit. I reasoned that the rebate would soften the blow of the service call. My complaint is this, why should this unit have failed with less than six (6) months of actual use and was only guaranteed for one (1) year, when a replacement compressor will be guaranteed for five (5) years? While waiting for the service call, I plugged in my thirty-two (32) year old unit in and within four hours the humidity dropped fifteen (15) percent. Are you having or beginning to have failures with this model dehumidifier and should this unit have failed so quickly? Did I just get a bad one? Consumer reports rated this fairly high at the time of purchase, but from my standpoint this is a very poor quality dehumidifier for the amount of money expended. When I asked your repair service how much the new compressor would cost if needed, they said “we don’t make that part”. Was this unit manufactured and assembled in China or just assembled there? You can tell by my depth of detail here that I am very upset at such shoddy workmanship and terrible performance from a brand name I used to trust above all others. This is just a piece of junk with half decent electronics. The important part, the compressor and condenser, failed miserably and someone should be held accountable for allowing this product on the market. I feel I’ve be scammed. In addition, this unit should be returned for investigation by your technical department to determine the cause of its premature failure. I would suggest you forward this letter to your engineering department for a response to my outrage over this incident. What ever happened to, “We bring good things to life?”

All I can say is SHAME, SHAME, SHAME on you! If it was'nt for America and Americans you would not be in business. So now instead of supporing Americans your leaving us to stuff your pockets with cheap labor. It's because of other companies moving out of America that has brought alot of hardship on Americans. I don't agree with the way we have demanded high pay here in America. But it was because of companies like you wanting way to much for products that brought on the greed that is in the hearts of Americans. It maybe a little hard to do/get use to not buying GE but I plan on doing just that. I can only hope and pray that alot of Americans will do the same. I can't help but wonder what the founders of GE would say about this. Sure everyone wants to have "things" but really how much do we really need? Now that is the 64 million dollar question. Can you answer it? No you can't not without sounding greedy and I really feel sorry for you.
