AVA AND HER FAMILY
This week I had the opportunity to photograph an awesome family. They just recently found out their daughter Ava has Optic nerve hypoplasia. I wanted to share their story, so please take the time read.
They are having a fundraiser, as well as trying to spread awareness for Optic nerve hypoplasia.
This is their story:
“Ava Arabella’s Story…please share
I Dystany Piepmeyer would like to share my daughters story. Now please remember every child diagnosed with this condition does not have the same effects.
My daughters name is Ava Arabella Ebell born on July 27, 2010.
I was a teen mom luckily end of my teens 19. I found out i was pregnent on December 14, 2009 and luckily my first ultrasound appointment on Febuary 23, 2010 i found out i was almost 3 and ahalf months pregnant with a sweet baby girl.
I was terrefied, my life wasnt together yet i wasnt married, her father and i were only dating. I had a ton of support through my pregnancy and no complications. On July 26, 2010 i was a day overdue! I ended up at 11:20 a.m checked into labor and delivery waiting patiently on my beautiful blessings birth. I was induced and at 1:16 a.m on July 27, 2010 i gave birth to the most beautiful little girl i have ever met.
She was healthy weighing 7lb 14ounces, and full on love and happiness. For the first 4 months Ava was amazing she slept through the night never cried and just was a blessing to her daddy and i.
When Ava was 4 months old she was diagnosed with Optic nerve hypoplasia. This causes developmental delays and brain abnormalities. Her optic nerve was not fully developed and pretty much completly missing. Her eye consists of white cartlidge were the optic nerve should be. Ava could not control her eye movement and her left eye would wander and move on its own. Although she did have this problem we still went on with our day to day life and did not treat her any different although it caused alot of stress on her father and i who ended up pulling apart.
We remain great friends and never let these problems play any affect into Ava’s life. Ava was perfect to us and nothing we did could change her diagnosis. In May of 2011 i moved to Twentynine Palms California and at the end of the year i married my bestfriend since i was 16 years old. He is a Untied States marine and loves Ava more then anything she now has a sister and has gained more family members she just adores. Ava is now seen by some of the top doctors in the United States and recently was re-diagnosed with Septo-optic dysplasia.
Optic nerve hypoplasia is generally manifested by involuntary eye movements, often side-to-side. Her vision ranges from normal vision to complete blindness. There are many measures to compensate for visual impairment, there are few treatments available to induce normal optic nerve function. Ava was also born without her septum pellucidum, The septum pellucidum is located in the midline of the brain, between the two cerebral hemispheres. Absence of the septum pellucidum dysfunction and hypopituitarism, as well as problems of vision, coordination, and intelligence, as well as other unusual symptoms.
Septo-optic dysplasia is a highly variable disorder. It is rare for siblings to present with identical features of the Septo-optic dysplasia spectrum. Many patients present with additional developmental defects outside the Septo-optic dysplasia triad. Ava will most likely never be able to drive, read fine print or it can go as far as baring children. She now see’s doctors every 3 months and luckily we are preparing to move out to San Diego, California were she will be seen every 3 months at the Balboa naval hospital. Her doctors are amazing and have helped so much with everything.
She will be getting a physical therapist and just recently we purchased a 8 week old Germen Shepherd named Myles. Myles will be put into puppy courses and courses for vision impaired toddlers. He will be her protector, security, best friend and most of all her companion for life. As said before Ava is a beautiful blessing and so smart, she shows no sighns of lacking any kind of vision although she is almost blind in her left eye and only see’s lights and shapes. Ava works hard learning colors, numbers and potty training. As of today she is advanced at her age and we are hoping to just keep progressing.
I would like everyone out there to know if your child has any kind of medical condition dont be upset or worried one thing you can always count on is that childs love. No matter what happens they will always know who mommy or daddy is and will always love you more then anything in this world and they look up to you and hope. Dont ever push that baby away cuase they have a small imperfection because to you they are perfect!
I would like to thank everybody who took the time to read Ava’s story and please keep her in your thoughts and prayers ♥ Right now we are holding fundraisers and a amazing friend is fundraising Ava through her scentsy. So if you would like to find me on facebook ( Dystany Piepmeyer ) or email me ( mikedyst.piepmeyer@gmail.com) if you would like to donate or even help with your own fundraising in any way. Thank you “

Don't ever order ANYTHING online from these people. That "no hassel" cancellation is a crawk. Instead of thank you for trying our product you get the "You are going to order something before we let you hang up" attitude. The representative actually told me I had no confirmation # for my cancellation "We don't give confirmation #'s" The reason I ordered online was to avoid the hassel you have to go through just to brouse when you visit one of their stores. I can't wait to get an unauthorized mail order from these bandits so I can sue them.

I have been a customer of GNC for years here in the Dallas/ Ft. Worth Metro area. Earlier this month, i purchased the 2 new vitamin suppliment packages that are now offered (The Strength & The Ripped). Just on this evening i went to exchange the Strength packages for another one of the Ripped (same price, different supp). The transaction was performed at the Arlington Mall store & the clerk actually charged me a 31.50 price difference. I went back to the store less than an hour later & he informed me that he only put the info into the computer & that is what it charged...? Tell me something: if you buy two equal valued items & a buy one get one free advertisement (Gold Card Member & advertisement price), then you go back in to exchange one of the two (it was actually the one that i originally paid the full $69.99 price for)exchanging it for the other that is advertised & actually at the same price (supposed to be an even exchange), then how in the world was i changed an additional price difference if 31.50 plus taxes???
I spoke with the clerk an explained that it was supposed to beb an even exchange; only response i got from hime was "Sir, i understand your frustrations, but i only put in the information & that is what it came up with...." How can he have rightfully said that he undertood my frustrations & not have taken the proper procedures to resolve a matter that he saw visually was a mistake??? Great customer service, right???
I almost have a mind to return everything that i purchased in that original purchase 2 weeks ago (appx $160.00 worth of stuff)and then ask for my full refund on the 69.99 of the last box that he had me pay full price for.... I think i am going to pay them another visit on tomorrow evening :-)
Fully part is, i phoned someone very knowledgeable regarding this type matter & was informed that the clerk was supposed to have made that transaction as a 100% exchanged due to both items were the same price, &/or he should have called for someone in management to resolve this issue correctly! I did not see a manager in the store (actually he was the only worker in the store at the time), I believe that he & every store should fully honor the signages that they have posted, or pull those suckers down... I'm just saying!!!
I would post contact info for someone from the corporate office to explain this error to me in a resolutional matter, but i don't want to place too much of my personal info of line like that that isn't secured.
Someone please post something as a reaponse to how to rectify this matter, because right now i have a mind to take all my things back to get my 200 plus back, and definately not go back to yhay location again (i am hoping & praying that if that is my decision, that he process my refund back correctly & 100%)

Steve and Evie Hadlock's review could not have said it any better. Though I never found myself in the position as serious, I do know exactly what he's talking about, and I've only been working there for a little over two months. And to my knowledge, I am most likely getting fired when my probationary period is over. I went to work today and received 5 write ups. Why? Because I had told the RSM that my manager or someone was shaving minutes off of my payroll so she wouldn't go over her part-time hour budget (She'd get wrote up if she did). She came up with 5 reasons to write me up, all of them I can argue against, but not entirely, as some of them are part true, but the same ones that are part true also apply to other employees and herself at the store, yet I am wrote up for it, so conveniently after I talked to her boss about what was going on. Did she get in trouble for changing HOURS THAT I WORKED to her boss? No, she didn't. Because she and her boss are friends. Management in the GNC corporation is terrible, and I plan on going higher than the RSM to bring justice. I may be getting fired, but in a way i'm not upset. I would rather do something else that I know I can be honest with customers and not have to lie to keep my job, or work for such terrible managers. I do agree that the constant pressure to sell items that are too expensive or are worse than other third party products they carry to keep your job is quite annoying and against my moral fiber. Getting paid an average of 9.50-10.50 thanks to commission since minimum wage is 7.25 is nice, but i'd rather give that up than to deal with this bullshit.

I have been a GNC gold customer for over 10 years. Only pruchasing from my local store. Last week 2 days before going away for a week I noticed a pending transaction on my debit card from GNC in Carson, CA for $418.61. Mind you I live in North Carolina. I immediately called my bank and they were able to stop this transaction.
But my debit card also had to be terminated just before my trip, a major inconvenience. Now weather this was just an honest mistake or one of their employees was trying to rip me off. Don't know if I'll ever find out..... |

My visit toyour store located in San Marcos California was inccidental, but a good one I'd have to say. I was patronizing Game stop next door and was overwhelmed by the characteriztics of the salesgirl, I had my route planned after Gamestop, I'd head to Henry's Market, Dr Oz show gave me ideas, that I wanted to persue for a healthy diet and excercise plan. Low and behold, I see your store. I enter to locate some items and compare etc. Your store manager which (Amanda) found to be very charming and very infomrative of your products. I did mention however my inccident at Gamestop, Horriffying!! You have a Great Consultant at this 595 Grand Ave, San Marcos, Ca. location. I will continue to shop there do to her abilities and knowledge. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP AMANDA STORE 00969

Just wanted to say the GNC in Philadelphia on Chestnut street between 17th and 18th, is awesome. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. I have read many complaints on here about GNC, but I have nothing to say but good things about that store. I have been there a few times now, and have lost 20lbs! Thanks to their staffs help and direction. I had a return for something that I didn't like how it made me feel, and the manager didn't give me a hard time at all, instead he helped me to find something else that didn't make me feel that way. I don't find them pushy and I don't mind the questions they ask....How else are they going to know how to help you or what exactly you need!!! Good Job Guys! Keep up the good work!

I had experienced questionable service in the past at store 01407 in Arlington, TX and simply refrained from using that store. Much to my chagrin, the service became dishonest when I let my guard down 4.6.11. Knowing that my wife had our Gold card in her possession, I asked the clerk look up our number so I could get the discount I was entitled to. The clerk informed me that the card had expired; but that I could renew it to get the current discount. I was then charged for a NEW card. When my wife went back the next morning with our original card that HAD NOT expired to seek a refund for the fraudulent charge, she was told that I had insisted on getting a new card. This is absolutely deceitful and makes no sense since now we have 2 cards registered to the same person (my wife). One expires in 6 months the other in 12. The clerk (supposedly the manger: Elaine) refused to rectify the situation and was absolutely obnoxious and unprofessional This was not a mistake but rather calculated dishonesty! Is this GNC's policy or an aberration?

I worked at GNC for a year and a half. Worst job I've ever had! The pressure to put up certain numbers was terrible, the pressure to persuade customers to but certain products that they DON'T NEED is ridiculous, and the corporate and management there is terrible! My manager was always late to open the store and countless times he would call me at 950 (store opens at 10) so I can open the store for him! I was one of the top sales associates in my region, and on a few occasions I used my gold card to get a customer to buy more stuff, and they fired me for doing that AND they required me to pay back all of the money I sold with my gold card which was $1100! I gave my all for that company and all they do is steal from their employees and their customers. The employees make money on the third party products, and not the GNC products, and the employees get in trouble if they make too much commission, and don't sell enough GNC products. I wouldn't recommend working there, or buying from there!

I worked for GNC for 9 months. I agree they treat employees bad. The manager at the store I worked at was always worry about whether or not she would get fired for sales not being high enough. Problem is the store is in Palestine, Texas and this is a small town. There is no way that sales are ever going to be high here. I also got fired last month because I read the schedule wrong and didn't open the store one day. I had never been late or a no call no show before. I worked extra hours when there was just me and the manager. I worked a full time job that I didn't even get off until 11 pm. If you've ever worked those hours you know that you can't just go home and go right to bed. There were plenty of times that I would go in and open at 9:30 after only getting 2-3 hours of sleep. I make ONE mistake and they fire me. I'm human, I read the schedule wrong and they don't even give you another chance. If anyone was to ever ask me if GNC was a good place to work, I would definitely say not only NO, but HELL NO!!

i work by a GNC store in McKeesport, Pa. the people who work there are always standing around outside spitting and smoking cigarettes with there friends. the garbage dumpster smells because they just empty old powdery stuff and it gives off a terrible smell and we have told them about the smell and they said that they will take care of it but as of now they have not. they play football in the parking lot when there are cars around. they are loud an disturbing. they are never in their store. there are benches in front of their store and they have there feet all over them this is were people sit and wait for the bus.

I recently made a purchase of an item from a GNC store last Friday. After reading the ingredients on the bottle, I realized that I could not take this product. I attempted to return the unopened product to the same GNC store. The store clerk required a drivers license to make this refund. I refuse to provide that personal information, as I was not required to show my drivers license to make the original purchase. I then asked the store clerk if I could have a store credit, or to exchange for another product that I can use. She continued to tell me she required my drivers license to do any type of transaction. The store clerk reasoning was to prevent fraudulent acts. This is not considered a fraudulent act because I am not asking for a cash refund. I simply asked the store clerk to refund my credit card. This is not a fraudulent act. I have never in my life had such a difficult time returning a product to a retail store, after this instance, at a GNC store, I will never solicit another GNC store or products in my lifetime. My family members also take supplements and they will not solicit another GNC store either.

I received a gift card as a christmas gift from my mother. She purchased it at the Fashion Square Mall in Saginaw, MI on 11/30/11. I just tried using the gift card today and the computer said it wasn't activated. (no money on it) I showed them the receipt of the purchase and then the manager called customer service and said the card was used at the GNC on State St. in Saginaw just 3 days later. The clerk whose name is J.W. (sales associates name on the receipt) is responsible for this. Putting the puzzle together, he probably pocketed the gift card with the money on it, and gave the blank card to my mother. This is the only possible scenario I can think of. This is a SCAM! How can GNC employees get away with this?? If you have proof with a receipt, this should hold up. They tried telling me that the person who bought the gift card, took an extra blank one off the shelf and gave it to me as a gift. Wouldn't stealing a blank gift card ignite the sensors to be alarmed?? This is so ridicilus! TONS of people are scammed like this on a daily basis! This guy is the only one responsible, and should be FIRED!

I recently made a purchase at the Roundlake Beach store in IL.I went in and knew what i wanted. When making my purchase i was drilled with questions.I have never had issue with this until today.Anthony the so called store mgr quoted, if i dont like his questions go shop at WAL-MART.I have shopped at gnc for over 15yrs and never experieced the attitude i did today. He was very unprofessional, rude and had a very bad attitude. All i wanted was to get the product and pay for it, not get badgered with questions and try to get pushed into buying anything else.Oh well i wont be shopping at gnc again.

GNC is corporate Scum. They make more than 1.82 billion in profits a year!!! Can they not afford to pay $14 dollars an hour and still make Billions in profits?..Surely yes.Obama is going to wipe that corporate scum smirk off their faces!GNC treats their employees like manure! Scum of Scum are corporations who take advantage of others.

The decisions this company makes is simply so those at the top can continue to get rich while those who are grossly underpaid are harrassed to reach financial goals and threatened to have their jobs taken from them. I saw this for 8 years. WE not only met our goals but managed to go over the bar and did anyone say 'good job?' No. They simply raised the goal monetarily for the next week and the ever threatening harrassment of 'you'll lose your job if you can pull these numbers up'. If you are in a GNC it is not the clerks fault that she/he has to try the 'pitch' on the gold card because the bottom line is, if they fail to sell the amount set for them they may lose their minimum wage job. This company fired a wonderful manager . Together we built a customer base in a small town that raised the bar with stores in places like Oklahoma City and in some cases regionally. I saw my boss constantly being threatened to go higher, do better and our customers were faithful. GNC however is not faithful to is employees. The very same DMS and RMS were close to retiring and demoted to store managers, one who has to work in two stores so she can keep her insurance....We are told 'push those gold cards ' and we did. At one point I set a record for gold card sales, an enormous single sale of 600.00 to find out my commission was 8.00. They only hire part time people and cut their hours. Who is willing to work for minimum wage at a time when the mall is empty? the only full time person is the manager. Our inventories were good and our customers loved us. To find that my former boss (I'm disabled now) was fired due to a fixable error by another employee while she was on vacation was a chicken s*it way to fire someone who after being reamed royally would get an outstanding achievement award the next day or week...so....who's running the show here? We have no idea of what is said in closed meetings but it did come back to bite those who sacrificed good people who busted their tales because they CARED. To GNC? We are a number..a number who are given numbers in dollar signs to reach constanty. They brag that they are one of the major corporations that never has to pay unemployment. When Ephedra was an issue they left MY boss and friend without any legal representation and threatened her if she removed any product with ephedra off of the shelves....and in the store at the time there were DEA agents ready to take her to jail...and where was corporate to back their loyal employee? If it had been me? I'd have gone to jail and I would have owned that Company. Workers there are pushed to the limit and some burn out . how can you defend yourself on numbers when every nite you have to do your inventory for the day that on your shift you had virtually ZERO customers. Their response? 'We dont want to hear excuses'.....so should those who work there bring their ouija boards and sell to the dark side since the living dont care to come in? Offer more products for women and quit showing your staff how to sell vitamins in a passive/aggressive way. legally, NO one can tell you that vitamin C is good when you have a cold..so you act stupid and while talking you are walking a customer to the C section and mention 'I HAVE seen people use this but I can't prescribe'.....C'mon.....GNC is a good ole boys club and any female that ever actually made it to the top was either related to those powers that be or sleeping their way into job and the latter can be tossed away just as quickly as she was brought in. But to fire a woman who ran an impeccable store ,is well thought of in this community and in fact had customers so loyal to her they refused to use any other clerk there...so the next time you are in GNC. Understand that the person there has 20 seconds to greet you , offer info about the Gold card and then multivitamins and they are told 'if you want a raise , give one to your self......sell the products that have a commission '....I dont know many little old ladies who will use Creatine and body building products....and what many dont know? at least THREE apparently different brands of products sold in the supplement and herbal area? Are all GNC products....so they get you with their 'generic' version, their 'cobalt blue glass' version and their brown plastic bottle products...just read the back....I got sick of seeing people who were grasping the last thing they could in hope that their cancer would be cured......GNC feeds off of these people and its a damned shame . Someone should see how they are cooking their books and how their employees are treated...I refused the manager ship. They will do anything to undercut someone and put a newbie in so they dont have to pay what the other person who invested 16 years in....they'll lose buiness here. Thats a given and its a shame. This lady was impeccable in all she did. She was counting on her retirement and more than once I've seen upper management treat her shabbily and if it had been me? I would have filed a complaint against the labor board. GNC is staffed by paid slaves and only the customers can stop this....

GNC is currently selling Supreme Protein bars at buy-one-get-one-half-off. Though GNC will allow you to purchase as few or as many as you choose, GNC will not allow the sale of a BOX (of 12 bars) at full price with the accompanying BOX (of 12 bars) at half price! GNC Corporate must employ the limited.

I was in a conversation with Nick Rogers/Mgr (GNC in Minneapolis) regarding Brady Degagne being transferred from Grand Forks to Blaine, Minnesota. Nick gave me his e mail address : 700327@gnc.com. The e mail address didn't work, could somebody from Corporate confirm Brady's transfer. He is a tenant in our rental property and I told Brady if he could confirm the transfer we would terminate his lease.
Thank you,
Brian

About two weeks ago I submitted a complaint and never heard back so I'm gonna send it again!! I wet into GNC in Lexington, SC and was getting some products and was looking at the protein powders at that time I looked over and the gentleman that was working was drinking from a gallon water jug and them came over to help me!! He was telling me about a protein drink and offered a free sample he would just have to make it so I agreed he went to the back and rinsed out the mixing stuff and came out he didn't have enough water so he reached for the gallon water jug and poured it in my glass I took a sip and them it registered to me what he had done when I questioned him about having of
Just used the same jug he drank out of he totally denied it but it was the only gallon jug up there and it was the same one he drank out of minutes before!! I can't tell you how disgusted I am I felt sick and mad all at the same time! I will never use this establishment again I can't believe that an employee would feel that was ok and them lie about it!! I might even take this further then this letter!! I have been loyal to GNC bc I loved yalls products and my sister worked for y'all before she passed away and now I'm so disgusted I don't think I can return!! Thank you |

Well this is the 1st time i ever wrote to a corporation..i just read about some customers who were not so happy with GNC...but..i have to tell you of a man i met at the gym i go to..to lose some weight, there i met a guy who 18 months ago weight in at 430 or it was 450lbs..he now weights 230,,i did not believe that he ever was that heavy..but on his phone he had pic.of himself at his 430 lbs..wow what a heavy, very heavy man,,i asked how he did it and he told me that he just got tired of being so fat and decided to get fit so he started hitting the gym ,then eatting right and taking GNC to make certain that he would maintain proper balance of vitamins for his health,,he lost the weight but then had a new problem,,he had excess skin so he started to body build and man i'm telling you unless i saw with my own eyes what he look like before i never would have believed his story,,,so there are some people who are benifiting from GNC products......bearwalkingtall@yahoo.com.904-351-9045

By Law GNC and its' employees are not allowed to recommend products for cleaning illegal substances from your body, even if he were to have a 215 card which says that the state allows him to smoke. that explains why he denied speaking with you. Another thing to keep in mind, is that a detox is designed to clean out your system. getting sick or staying on the toilet is a part of the process.

Poor doesn't even describe how crappy GNC was to me. I live in Evansville Indiana, we have a GNC store in our mall, my boyfriend was trying to make sure his system was clean from thc, we went their and Clint told us this $60 cleanser and detoxifier would work. My boyfriend got deathly sick, and it didn't work. I tried to ask for my money back and Clint denied ever talking to me. So therefore I have $60 in a hole and a sick boyfriend. Thanks GNC you fuckin suck!

Most people come in not knowing what they looking for but he spends time with the customer to find out. Jay is into extreme fitness and very knowlegable. He is getting a large following with the way he handles the customers. |

I am very disappointed in GNC and its handling of it's paying customers and their orders. I placed an order online, without any reason or notification from GNC the order was cancelled. I found this out a few days later when I went to the site to check the status. I then re-ordered. 3 days later my order was still sitting in the warehouse. I called customer service, the first rep hung up on me. The second put me through to a supervisor who apologized for the horrible service and assured me that he was contacting paypal and crediting my account so that my order would be free of charge. My order is still in the warehouse 10 days later. I have spoken with 4 supervisors none of which have a clue. They have even told me that they have no way of contacting their own warehouse. I contacted paypal to cancel this order as GNC refused to cancel regardless of how often I insisted. Paypal had never been contacted by GNC regarding the credit and also had never let paypal know that the first order was even cancelled. That is beyond ridiculous, thinking they can have access to my account when ever they feel like doing their job. Absolutely NOT! I put a stop payment on both orders and will be reporting GNC to the BBB. They cannot treat people like this and refuse to give them their own money or allow them to cancel orders they they have no intentions of filling. |

GNC rating is worse than poor it is horrible. It is now my missuon in life to make sure all the people who shop gnc know how the employees are treated. Worsethhan dirt!!Thare has necever been a more disgusting place to work. They lie, they cheat, sexual harrassment goes on every day and if you @refuse to have sex with your rsds they fire you.And if you report it to corporate they call you a liar. Hey don't care about you customers all you are is dollar signs.

I was just completely hosed by GNC. I ordered my products online and wanted to apply a gift card. Completed the transaction and my credit card got charged the full amount. Emailed the company immediately (even before the confirmation email arrived).
They keep saying there's nothing they can do. I wasn't asking for anything special. Refund my card and take the money off the GNC gift card. Simple transaction. Now emailed or been on the phone with 4-5 people and still no one is willing to rectify this situation. Completely absurd.
They want me to travel to a store, get a refund and then reorder the product again online. Sweet! I get to pay shipping and handling twice! OMG. What's the point of ordering online?
Last time I'll ever be doing any business with them.

Have been a member of GNC for many years. Renewed my Gold Card at another location
other than the one I usually shop at, sales person did not have "sticker" to update and told me to have sticker applied at my GNC. Told sales girl this, she would not
listen and would not give me my discounts. Told me Krill Oil was "buy one, get one". When I got home, she had charged me $19.99 each. What a racket Tried to reach manager, who never returned my call. Takes forever to get out of the store as sales people working register are so busy trying to oversell customers in line. Two people just walked out. Terrible, Terrible service. Will shop at the Vitamin Shoppe from now on. |

I find that most GNC stores are a pain to shop in because of the commission based pay, but the worst store I have ever been in was a new open store number 1491 in Monroe NC. Extremely pushy, and poor salesman skills. I have been in sales for over 20 years and understand the pressure of making a living off commission, but these guys are over the top. He called one of his products crap just to try and get the up-sale on another. He was very into making the customer fell stupid to sell his products even though his tactics did not work on me and I still bought what I came to get in the first place. I have been a loyal GNC Customer up until now. This guy has completely turned me against GNC as a Whole Company and I will never shop at another GNC Anywhere. I can find products elsewhere. In case Corporate reads this. It was one of the little white bald headed guys that travel to multiple stores. He is giving your Company a BAD name with his pushy sells skills.

It was recommended that I buy Sensa from a GNC retail store, rather than on-line directly from Sensa. When I purchased the 1st box (a 2 month supply), the sales person convinced me to buy a Gold Card to get a discount on the costly remaining 4 month supply. He said, "You could always return them." (exact words) But, failed to tell me there was only a 30 day return policy. After using the first 2-month supply, which did nothing for me, I returned the remaining unopened 4 month supply. Shame on me to think I would get a refund. I was told that GNC has only a 30-day refund policy. I am so disappointed. This is my last and final purchase at GNC. I regret the years of countless purchases I made at GNC.

yea I was tricked into buying a gold membership buy the clerk in the colorado springs store on centenial. went for diet help and was given crap that made me sick. she toild me that i could return everything but when I sis today they would not refun gold card even though only used once and was returning that item too.I was never told that when purchased. They have no idea who they arte dealing with, as I will spend tens of thousands to get back my $20 and to get out the word that they and their products are a rip off!

I am very unhappy with GNC. I purchased a goldcard and later found out that it only honors the gold card for sales between the 1st thru the 7th of each month. Its not enough that I patronize your business now you want to tell me when and what time of the month I can do this. If the saleperson had of told this up front I would I never got the gold card. I consider this to be very misleading and decietful. I will not be renewing this card and will consider no business with GNC in the future. I will also inform others of this experience.

Called the coroporate office and who ever answered the main line there was very rude. I am glad I never have to call back again. Pretty much seemed bothered that I had even called, pretty much yelled at me for asking a questions and then hung up on me after I said thank you and goodbye, all i heard was the slamming of the phone.

I was in the GNC store located at 134-136 Fulton St., New York, NY today when I inquired about a pre-workout drink and post-workout drink. The saleperson took me over to N.O.-Explode drink. The price tag on the counter for a carton of 12 was $34.99, when he ranged it up it was $47.88 plus tax. I asked about the $34.99 a carton product, his answer was it was a berry flavor which they no longer had and the one on the shelf was blue raz which was more expensive. I asked the store manager why would they have a sign on the self of a product that did not have? I got no reponse from her and left the store. This appear to be a classic case of "bait and switch" which is illegal. I request that GNC investigate this store and its store manager who also needs retraining in customer service. I can be reached at 917-639-3041. Thank you.

I bought AB Cuts from the GNC store in Ridgmar Mall and then tried to return it a couple weeks later and was told I needed to speak to the person who sold it to me so I said ok. I had not even opened the product and I had the receipt with me. I was given the number of the salesman I was to call, the one who sold the product to me. So I called and called and called and he was NEVER in the office and the person I did talk to took my number and said they would give me a call back, a week went by, NO call. So I called back... still not in the office. Finally I said I was calling customer service and BAM the salesman I had been trying to call finally calls and tells me there is nothing he can do because it is past the date that I could return the product... WELL OF COARSE!!! I've been calling everyday for two weeks! So he gives me the number of ANOTHER person I should call to handle the matter. So ok I call that person and no answer, so I leave a message. I called back a few more times over the next couple of days and NEVER had my call returned... RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In my opinion GNC has the best return policy. Alot of people bad mouth GNC i bet most of the peopple who complaint here must working for GNC competition. Chances of those are very highly. Humans do make mistake and people who work at GNC are after all humans. Let me get to the point. They have by far the best return policies. Which retailer allows you to use a product for 30 days and if your not satisfy with it you will get your money back no questions asked. I doubted if any retailer do. I am not here to bash GNC competion i am just sayin the fact. GNC products might taste bad, have weird smelly or less attractive labels but they do work. You just have to give it some time. You cant fix a problem in few day You cant loose 10 lbs in few days or 10lbs of muscle for that matter. To achieve anything in life its takes honesty. strength and determinaton.

Store 00787, In Forestville MD, Poor customer service I brought an weight scale on September1. On a few days earlier I had purchase some vitamins that was making me sick . I was trying to see if I didn't program the scale right so I returned the vitamins and tried to exchange the scale . So upon doing so the manager Jackie told me I was a troubled customer and not to comeback. That's not good service.

Yesterday visited the GNC in Greenbrier Mall Chesapeake, VA the manager Carla very rude. I walked in the GNC store and asked if they had Zipmelts. She responded by saying "we don't have no products called Zipmelts." and contined to talk to someone on her earpiece. After I found the product, I took it to the counter to purchase. As she was ringing my purchase, she was still talking to someone else about their man on her phone. I then said "these are the products called Zipmelts>" She then said in a nasty voice "Oh it's called Melatonin>" Then she throws my change at me and the change fell on the counter. I then looked at her, and said "I need a refund". She then said "I need your ID", and she gave me my money back but threw it in my hand again. I then asked for Corporates phone #, and she wrote a number down 18882674425 with Brian Houston_RSD name on it. I dialed the number outside the store and the # wasn't valid. I went back into the store and asked her to give me a number that actually works. She then said in her nasty voice" it is a holiday, do you really expect them to answer?" I then said "well the number isn't ringing it cuts off>" She then said "yeah that's what it do" and rudely asked the next customer "may I help you". So I walked out of the store. Carla shouln't work in the customer service field at all.I truly hope she isn't a manager representing this company . She is very rude, nasty, and ignorant. I left and went to Vitamin World, and received the upmost care and respect from their associates.

i purchased ultra mega gold vitamin Veggie item # 517367 in october 2010. GReat vitamins.180 capsules. Shared some with friend and family only to find that GNC has dis continued these vitamins. THis was a stupid decision. I suffer from narcolepsy and have had open heart surgery. These vitamin keep me and others of my friends and family alert awake and not feeling tired in this lease. would you say this is a vitamin to discontinue. Not very bright GNC I would say bad advertising.
urgirlmunchies | 7/11/11 |
GNC teaches their employees to push, push, push. They are supposed to sell vitamins, chews, colon cleanser and what ever else they can push on you when you enter. With todays economy, I wish GNC would consider lowering their prices and maybe that push would help their employees with commission. Dont blame your employees for not being able to sell. Blame the economy and GNC's prices.

I am from upstate New York, down here in Baton Rouge, Louisiana visiting family. I went to your store in the Mall of Louisiana and was extremely satisfied and quite surprised with the level of service and attention I received. The handsome young man that assisted me, Lee, was very helpful and possessed impeccable manners and old fashion Southern Charm. This is something I never get to see being from New York, what a treat! I am a firm believer in letting upper management know when a I receive exceptional service at their business. As a manager myself of a large retail department store I know how important these comments can be. A little advice.... Hire more like that young man and you will see more positive comments on your website.

I purchased the isopure protein shake and have since tried tonreturn it 5 times due to the extreme vomitting I experienced after usage. None of the stores (including the one I bought it from) are willing to give me a cash refund. One store owner told me none of the stores would do anything other than a gift card, one store told me they could only put it back on my card and another has told me that he wouldn't refund me anything. Now print in plain English on the back of the reciept is the refund policy and ice shown this to 5 different locations all of whom refuse to honor it. I have called corporate at least 13 times and have yet to get a response. I will NEVER shop here again and if I don't get a call back or a refund im taking ALL YALLS ASSES TO COURT. Hope you got some good lawyers because I'm one damn good DA myself.

My wife and I have been shopping at the GNC store on Curlew Road and Alt. 19 in Dunedin for over five years. Their sales staff is the most professional, knowledgeable and customer service oriented I've ever seen in any retail business. The manager, Angela, is the best. Always friendly with a smile on her face. Always there to answer any concerns I have. I highly recommend that location.

I went into a GNC store today and I was looking around to find Met-rx....which that store doesn't and I was told they do. Well the sales men asked me what I was looking for I told him. He gave me a weird look and asked me what it does...I already told him once what it was and what it does. Well I told him "its ok...I'll look around." The whole time I was looking around the guy kept looking me up and down and holding his chin, saying "mmm." I told him to quit looking at me and he just kept doing it. I will not be returning to that store and I will be calling the store manager and corporate on him. I am very disappointed in GNC and I can defiantly find somewhere else to shop.

Received e-mail for $9.99 sale. Online allowed me to put multiple items in my shopping cart for $9.99 each. I printed out the store coupon and went to the GNC downstairs from where I work - GNC #09933 in Dallas, Texas, One Main Place. Amanda advised she could only give me 1 item for $9.99, even though I clearly showed her the printout of my shopping cart which had given me 3 items for that price. She said she didn't know how to make the coupon work for more than 1 item, and was very uninterested in finding out. Ultimately I purchased only 1 item, though should not have purchased ANY!

When I presented My gold card to purchase some items Kathy said card was expired, would not honor it said I could renew for 1.20 said ok. Discovered when I got home that they charged me 15.00.
When I called Kathy said that I really paid 2.20 due to the saving of 12.60 on the items purchased and not payment of 15.00 for the card. She put a sticker of new expiration date of April 2012 on the card. Upon further inspection of the card after talking to Kathy on the phone removing part of the sticker can clearly see it expired April 2011. So the card was not even expired.
This occured at the GNC Store 05966 at Centenial Mall 6592 North Decator Blvd Las Vegas, NV 89131 on April 4, 2011 I am returning my purchase for a full refund later today and hoping to get full refund even though gold cards not refundable. |

I purchased a few items from the store on Lower Broadway in NYC. I was signed up for a Gold Card and without telling me, I was charged 9.99. I was not informed of this and did not receive any recourse from the store or corporate office. Check your receipts thoroughly and double check the figures before you sign for your purchase.

I went to a GNC store in Silverdale Wa. The nearest to my house which is around 30 miles away...First I tried calling for 21/2 hours and the phone was busy..after arriving at the store at 12:30pm to return a $75.00 product purchased the day before (untouched and unopened), I got a lot of attitude about returning it. I told the lady (barely) just give my money back please. She took my receipt and started circling numbers then said " I can't do this". I don't have enough money to give you!!! Are you kidding? A national chain that doesn't have $75.00 cash in a register? I PAID $75.00 cash...I will NEVER shop there again. She was so rude and such a pitiful example of customer service. I went to the next nearest store in Port Orchard Wa. who gladly returned my cash and apologized for morons working at the Silverdale store....I know one thing...You get good service you keep it to yourself, you get bad service you tell everyone you meet.

I was in teh GNC store in my area and was helped by teh GNC employee who driected me to a product called X12. Which is a fate burner/thermogenic/enegy pill or some sort. I was sold (2) bottles and ensure that they were the best thing on the market and they worked and everything under the sun. So i tokk teh pills the first day and noticed an ungodly stomach pain that lasted for an hour. along the worst skin fluching ( turning red and hot) which was very uncomfortable and made me a little worried. So I called th store and the guy said "No" that's great that it was working and I just had to adjust to the pills. But that meant that they were going to to "Get The Job Done". So like a moron I took more pills for 3 days and then fianlly said NO MORE! i tried to return the pills and he said only the (1) sealed box could be returned and he would have to give me the sale price! I wanted to PUNCH HIM IN HIS FACE! My opinion is GNC is horrible. I am switching to VITAMIN STORE

I want to express my graditute to a RSD out of Little Rock, AR. He has gone beyond any upper manager I have work for - in the past.
Every time I have seen him. He is always positive, motivating, calm, patient, proffessional, strict, and knowledgeable about almost anything I ask him.
One night I was stranded at my store in Little Rock, AR.
I know he has a busy schedule every single day. He could of said it was my own problem and that I needed to find another way home. But he didn't. He drove me home! I have facebook my friends in California - about him and they are in disbelief of such an important person would do that for me? His name is: BRANDON! Please acknowledge his hard work, his strength, his motivation and energy for GNC and his employees! |

I as well have a Complaint about the franchise G.N.C store in Overland Park cross streets of Antioch and 135 st. ON January 28 2011 3:00Pm I went to this store (I WAS a regular customer) to get my usual Lean shake. The person who rung me up had this sarcastic, sassy and rude attitude. I could not take his lip and I told him “There’s something wrong with you attitude man, I don’t like it”. He then said “Dude”, I told him to have a nice day and as I was walking out he said “Here in about 15min you can try and change my attitude if you want!” I told him he was not worth it. His remark was “That’s because you’re a PUNK ASS BITCH! I then turned around and asked him if I could speak to his manager. He said “Oh he should be back here in about 15min. So I waited just to find out that the person coming back was A manager but the General manager was the one who mouthed off to me. HE APPLOGIZED and said there is nothing he can do about it because he was his boss. I told him that they lost my business. Please tell me that SOMETHING will be done about this. This is HIGHLY DISSRESPECTFUL I am even a Gold member and paid in to your plan.

I was at a store location in Merritt Island Fl on several occassions and i have a complaint. An employee of yours named Anthony Cribben was very rude a disrespectful he was communicting with is friends rather then helping me find a product, also when i would walk past the store when the mall had closed he had several different females in there with him that i dont feel had the right to be. I had called the store to complain adn they said they would handle it and still have not. He has his friends sitting on the counter going into the backroom and doesnt even respond to the customers.

I'm writing because of the recent news about lead in reusable grocery bags made in China. I have a bag from GNC (it says Sac Fiberlink Bag on the inside label) and it is made in China - have you done any testing for lead on these bags?

For the past 4 months I have asked the GNC location on 1960/veterans memorial to stop calling my telephone with promotions. I spoke with Karen once and Cindy the once, both stated that they would remove me but each month I have recieved telephone calls and just last night 11/3/10 they decided to call me with a pre-recorded message promoting GNC products on my telephone. I called up to the store and was told that Cindy just walked out the door. I'm tired of the igorance from this company and hate that I ever signed up for a GNC gold because this calling my cell phone thing is very annoying and when you ask them to stop they do not comply. I have called the Corporate office and left a message. I want a returned call about this matter ASAP.

While shopping in your Mesa Az store on signal butte (AZ) we were treated very badly by your store clerk Mike. Store#09797 Superstition Gateway. He ignored us yet serviced the men in the store. Even during check out he ignored us and acted like we were a bother to him. Yet another man walked into the store and he assisted him with graciousness. Ignoring us again. Does this Mike person have a problem with women. We are not atheletic like the other people in the store; so maybe that was his problem. But either way and for whatever reason WE were treated as 2nd class and ignored. I will NOT use your store again for my products; If this is the policy of your company, I will find another retailer to fill my nutritional needs. Thank you for your time.

I am submitting this reiew to further inquire about the sales of perscrition medication from one of your Phoenix store locations. I went to GNC to seek out weightloss aids a few weeks ago. I was encouraged by the store manager Lee to purchase HCG injectables supplied by his wife Sabrina from his store location on Baseline. The HCG was purchased with cash directly from a store associate. Upon start of using the HCG I found that it was not safe and contacted Sabrina about returning the product. I was told that there would be no refund offered. The store is on Baseline and 24th Street in Phoenix. This very unprofessional and I do not understand why GNC would allow it's employees to sale outside medication to it's customers. Please contact me at 909-227-2544. Thank you

I was in the clearfield office on tuesday night. There was a sale on the oxy elite pro buy one get one half off. The person that was working that night told me that since I was taking a perscription that it would be safe to consult with my doctor before taking this item. Did that and also tried to look up more information about this product on line and was also given the wrong email address it went to a pet med site. Had to call the dubois store to get the right information. The dubois store said that they never even had this sale and didn't know what I was talking about. So I drove clear back to the clearfield store to purchase this item and they told me that they are not having that sale also. Now I was just in there two days ago and the person that was working told me that I had all week to check with my doctor and that all gnc's would be having the same sale. Now I know that I was not dreaming this and I know that I was in the clearfield store on tuesday night then again on thursday to purchase the item that was supposed to be on sale all week. I would like to know why I am being told that I don't know what I am talking about that the person working thursday didn't even know that sale existed and that I was even given the wrong website to look this item up. I really don't enjoy getting the reach around and looking like a complete fool when I go to purchase the item that I had to drive two hours out of my way to even get in the first place.
