They wouldn't do a simple subordination for the refinance of my main loan without an appraisal even though the lender had approved the loan without an appraisal. GMAC has the second on my home which has over $200,000.00 in equity. This cost me over 2 months of hassles going back and forth, not to mention the cost of an appraisal of $595.00 and a $100.00 fee to apply for the subordination. Waste of time and money for a piece of paper. I can't wait to refi this loan and never do business with them again.

If I could give them 0 stars I WOULD but its not an option. The loan modification process has taken 2 and a half months!! I just received a letter from the IRS today saying they couldn't process the request for tax transcripts because white out has been used. GMAC has altered my paper work!!! Luckily I faxed in all paperwork and kept everything in a file. I have my original paperwork along with a copy of the one that has been tampered with. When I asked a supervisor at GMAC if they received the tax transcript from the IRS they answered 'yes'!! It's a flat out lie - I have a letter from IRS saying the request was NOT processed because of the white out. And of course it will take at least 5 business days for somebody to get back to me with these concerns. AND my modification has been denied - how can that be when they dont have all the papers?!?! Honestly, I am better off going to a local bank in town and not some big corporation where they really don't care!!!!

I give up. GMAC has screwed me! I was given a loan modification from $1100 to $620 with the GMAC rep at NACA. I was overwhelmed with emotion. I thought my dreams had come true. I was told that I would not have to make a payment for 2 months and I should be receiving my paper work within a month. Needless to say I never received the paperwork and after calling for an additional 2 months and begging for the information, I finally received my paperwork and it was the exact same amount of my orginal loan.lol.. I called them and a VERY rude customer service guy told me that there was nothing they could do, and yes they see where I was offered the rate of $620, but their advisors advised them not to move forward and I should fill out other loan modification form. I didnt and about a month later I received a new payment agreement for $1185??? Do these people smoke dope and throw darts at numbers and send it off to us?? Come and get this f-ing house. LIARS!!!!!!!

This is the worst copany I have EVER dealt with. They lie. They repeat the same things over and over. I don't think there is an original thought in the entire company. They don't care that we are real people trying to avoid NOT paying our mortgage. I am trying to be proactive and being punished for it. I am so discouraged. Thank God it is our second mortgage. Horrible. I wish I had a choice when we refinanced our ARM. I woudl have never allowed them to be our lender. Good Luck to all here.

Today, GMAC forclosed on my property and bought it at a Sheriff's sale, while I had a pending short sale offer that THEY approved! The problem was that the sheriff's sale was scheduled and spending hours on the phone with several GMAC workout people, their attorney and Equator (their negotiator), they went ahead with the sheriff's sale instead of cooperating with the short sale which would have: -Gotten them a solid buyer -Helped my credit rating -Made everyone happy and satisfied! They are a large impersonal entity that doesn't care about doing anything right. Customer service is awful and I'm not sure that what they did was totally legal. Who gets away with this nonsense???!!!

I just spent over three hours on the phone trying to get a simple answer to my question. I pay my mortgage every two weeks, never late, comes right out of checking. My statement has a payoff date of exactly 30 years from the date of the loan. Now, since I pay every two weeks, it should be paid off earlier right? So when is that? What's the date? Because it might not make sense for me to refinance for 15 years at 3.6% with this other company. Simple right? A couple of years ago when I first took note of the payoff date I called and got my question answered by an American, it was a five minute call. Very nice. Wish I wrote it down. Now? IT'S A NIGHTMARE!!!!! First, spent 23 mins speaking to costa rica, where he refused to send me to a supervisor then hung up on me. Next, 17 minutes, can't speak to a manager, hung up on, also costa rica. Next, 29 minutes, won't tell me what country but not the USA... culminating with me speaking to a supervisor, who then transferred me to Western Unions costa rica office, who told me they only transfer the money to gmac. 11 min call to the Iowa office, left vm. Then a 19 minute call to somewhere outside the USA, then transferred to 800-209-9700 where the recording actually told me that all lines were busy and please try your call later, then disconnected me. Is this some kind of a sick joke? Hey GMAC, did you tell those people you were outsourcing their jobs when you gave them those mortgages? Your foreign customer "service" reps are simply not capable of doing the job you are paying them to do. You complete and utter Donkeys. My Rage knows no bounds right now.

John contact the attorney generals office for your state as well as consumer affairs and the state banking dept. My office handles modifications and whenever we have problems like this we sent out letters to all 3 offices and also send copies of those letters to the bank so they know you are not playing games.

had two heart attacks and ended up in the hospital 4 times at the end of last year, I am 53 years old, was flown out to cleveland in april for open heart surgery. almost all of my money went to medical and travel. have explained this to GMAC many times and am now ready to resume payments and get caught up. instead, GMAC has put my house in foreclosure and denied my modification. when asked about catching up on my payments, was told the tresury dept will not let them work out payments, must make total payment to bring account current before they can take house out of foreclosure. I am now calling people listed as corporate officers to try and save my house. anyone out there got a better plan that actually worked in saving their property ?? John

I whole heartedly agree with peter talin - couldn't have said it better! I've been dealing with them for 6 months. I get the same rude person who says they didn't speak to me the time before and continues to be an uncompassionate and uncoperative Jack "A"

My mortgage loan payment was an automatic deduction from my bank account. When my bank was purchased by a larger financial institution the new bank notified GMAC of a new routing/account number to collect funds for payment, they got the account number correct but transposed the routing number. I was also told to go on line and reset the auto payment from my account their system wouldn't allow it. After two days of consuming time on the phone they promised they had the situation fixed and my credit would not be affected, no so! This error was their fault, they promised no credit problems - the story/problems just keeps getting worse and there are only robotic drones answering the phone with no ability to do anything except to tell you your status and that is after waiting a long long time on the phone. Could be it is time to see a lawyer especially since they took 45 days to notify me of the issue that was their error. This saga continues no end to it.

GMAC is with no doubt the worst company to ever deal with. If you ever get to speak to an executive assistant......you will never ever be able to speak with an executive at this company.....they make a lot of money for a lot of nothing.....this company is filled with a bunch of low class executive.....with no business etiquette whatsoever.......save your millions and get rid of the whole and i mean whole staff....this staff is a bunch of Jerry's KIDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been contacting GMAC Mortage for the past 5 months. I've had a pristine mortage payment history and credit report for the past 15yrs. Last March I was injured; resulting in overwhelming medical expenses. I approached GMAC for a loan modification - providing the requested information REPETITIVELY, only to learn that GMAC denied the loan modification. (This was after claiming that they didn't receive the requested information - even when I had UPS tracking numbers, fax confirmations.) tAlthough it was clear that my DTI is significantly unbalanced, I was denied due to sufficient income. Flash forward to a few months later when I was laid off and unemployed - my loan modification was quickly denied due to "Insufficient income." Hmmm... I've wasted hours of my life on hold with GMAC. Sadly, after waiting approximately 30minutes on each call, I've never spoken with a representative who can speak irectly about my specific case. GMAC representatives respond with scripted answers and are not empowered to make any changes, suggestions... only give lip service to what I already know. This is ridiculous. If I skipped a house payment, I can guarantee I'd get someone's attention! I've decided to stop paying my mortgage and walk away from the property. I wanted to work with GMAC, but they haven't been willing to even accept my phone call. They can have the keys to the property

Disregard my 5 star rating above, I was hypnotized by the on hold music. I am now at 157 minutes. I was told on two other seperate occasions that someone would call me back within 10 minutes. This is my 7th call and I have also sent an email and still haven't spoken to someone about my mortgage! I am at work for 5 more hours. If no one answers by then it will be a total of 457 minutes on hold!

There are no humans that work here! They have terrible customer service! I will never use them again or ever buy a GM product!

This is our first year with them and we are currently looking for another lender. There is HORRIBLE customer service who gives you the run around and never can produce a resolution to anything. I would strongly reconsider even thinking of using them as a lender. We have excellent credit and pay our bills on time and should have chosen a different lender. Please check the reviews before choosing your lender because we should have.

i have dealt with gmac for almost 2 years attempting to resolve my upside down mortgage. they are a freaking joke. i think everyone in this country with an upside down mortgage should just walk away. the financial industry screwed us good this time. think about loan mod. the lower the balance and then put it on the ass end. that means the poor people will never pay off their homes and the financial institution will in effect have absolute life time ownership on every home that gets modified. signed one dumb sucker

It's a joke if you are even if you a lender trying to reach someone in the Subordination Unit to cancel a Subordination Request!!!!!!!!! All you do is sit on hold (twenty minutes so far) and you still can't get to the proper department, let alone attempting to reach an actual person. Perma Hold!!! Suggestion go to a SMALL BANK
