Gmac foreclosed on my wife and I. The funny thing is we had an offer for the short sale they denied that. GMAC asked to much for it at the court house auction...but sold it to the folks we had an offer from on the short sale.I am pretty sure that is illegal. not sure though...anybody know a good attorney?

We have $154.09 left on our mortgage and $950.54 in escrow. Have faxed the Payoff Statement to them 2 times starting Sept 3, 2011 authorizing them to pay off the loan with the escrow. Simple you'd think. Punch a few buttons and mail us the deed. Apparently not. Got a new payoff statement with a 30 buck late fee added now in spite of contacting them two more times before the due date to check on it. I think I will look up who regulates banks and write them a letter. I am a librarian so if they think I won't have copies of everything. Heh. Heh.

Worst experience ever. Period. Requested a loan modification that my wife and I more than qualified for after she lost her job. Submitted every document requested, and provided an additional narrative to assist in demonstrating our need. After three denial letters (each for different reasons) and 30 days worth of phone calls to dozens of "supervisors" in their "Escalation" department, I was told that I now needed to resubmit a completely new request for modification with more current pay stubs. The supervisor the told me that admittedly, I was now starting the process over. Meanwhile, I'm now more behind in my payments than I was in the beginning, and no closer to any possible resolution. It's no wonder that good people snap.

I have been truong to reach GMAC by a 1888 number because I'm interested in a property that they own and no body I mean no one has gotten back to me. I can't believe that in todays economy a bank could be so lax about getting this money! Its obvious that GMAC can't be doing that bad or for this matter mind paying the taxes on this home I'm interested in.

I get phone calls at least twice a week to pay my mortgage. I tell all who call, that I get my Social Security Disability the second Wed. of each month. The reps. say they will make a note of it, but they never do, as I still get the phone calls. I wish I had never changed mortgages. Instead of telling me they could cut my mortgage costs, in around 4 months, they increased my mortgage more than I had to pay in my previous mortgage company. I HATE GMAC. They are terrible. I can't get out of it either.

My score would be zero. Absolutely terrible! Ive had storm damage to my house since April. A check was issued out, but my ex husbands name, who's also deceased was on it. I went through the process of removing his name etc. That was almost 3 months ago, and theyre still using every excuse why they havent sent me the check. A different reason every time. I'm very irrate! I told them either send me the check or I want the title to my house! I told them I will not pay money for a house I currently am unable to live in! I threatened to get a lawyer! I called them this morning and after I took out my frustrations on some lady, she transfered me to a guy named Bruce in customer service. When I started at with my complaint, he clearly started laughing! I told him it wasnt funny and proceeded with my complaint. In the middle of it, he decides to interrupt me and told me I needed to stop! What a bunch of assholes! I told them I would NEVER, EVER recommend them to ANYONE! I then said a few choice words and hung up the phone. Im done! I have a pretty good sized side yard thats all fenced in. I have news for them. Thats a seperate lot and I pay seperate taxes. I will find a way to take part of that fence down that I need to and that will leave them with a rotting house and a very small lot which orginally went with the house. If they take my house I refuse to give them the land thats rightfully mine!

Wow, I am in absolute shock. First a Forbearance Unemployment Program (Reduce Payment) for up to six months, then a Bill (never explained) one month before plan ended. Lies, Misleading Information then a Default Notice. 1/2 Owed to stop Foreclosure. Talked to every possible representative through the duration of my reduced payment to make sure that i would not be in any jeopardy of paying back any money or putting myself at risk. I also talked to a 14 year employee who took my call and indicated to me that even if i did not receive a loan modification that the worst case senario would be that i would have to pay back GMAC approx. $2900.00. Another Lie. The paper work received (to date)is Misleading, Confusing and Conflicting. After Billions in Bail Outs to Many Mortgage Companies how is our Government 'Allowing' this to happen. GMAC (in the past) has been good to me and put any money in the back of the loan. Why ask for help just to put yourself in jeopady of losing your home! Please consult an attorney before taking 'Any' plan!!!

This is a company with horrible customer service. The GMAC corporate offices must not even care about the service that the individuals that have mortgages with them receive. The rude, inconsiderate individuals who make up the customer service department, all need to be fired or retrained. What is ironic is the GMAC must not realize in such a tough economy, many lenders would be willing to work with individuals to get refinancing. GMAC should not be so comfortable that they think they can ignore the horrible treatment that they allow. Remember you will reap what you sow. So be careful as you start losing customers, you will know why. And trying to talk with a supervisor or someone in charge that can make a decision is a joke.

Don't ever expect any kind of help or cooperation of any kind from this company. They are just another Michael Dell, unreachable and blind to all the problems in their company as long as they keep making miney. I am all the way to the executive office, so they say, it could be just another phone center front. Their corporate office is in PA. the tax department is in Dallas and the payment center is in Phoenix and the phone centers are in Iowa and Idaho I think. They just keep ignoring your calls and then all of a sudden the person you were dealing with is no longer available and it's start over time again. And these people are supposed to the in the US and not India like Dell computers. Has any one ever found anyone in that company that does their job and knows how? GMAC that is. My husband passed away suddenly in the middle of this escrow. GMAC could not care less that I will loose my house because of this problem they could fix very easily. They are illegally collecting a city special assessment tax to my impound account for county taxes. All papers say a lender cannot collect special assessment taxes in an impound account. They refuse to fix the problem, so now I have had to contact an attorney. Maybe he can reach them. Good luck working with this company.

This is insane. I have paid extra to get caught up and they refuse to process the additional money until it eqauls a full payment. They are collecting interest on my money which they refuse to applly to the principal balance or late fees. What kind of regulatory garbage do we have that allows them to get awaywith this

Actually, this should be a minus 10. I would never use this mortgage company again. I had a F-1 Tornado hit my house, take the roof totally off on April 11, 2011. GMAC received my check of $9,623.75 and $1,900+ from the insurance and still to this day (7-^-11) they still have my money and work has been 100% complete for over a month. And more work was done to may the house even better. This is devastating. WE are out money to fix it and now they hold MINE not even their money. Word to wise DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR MORTGAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It will be too late.

I also have been trying to get help for many many months regarding a foreclosure. My x-husband died one week prior to signing a loan modification. I can never talk to any one who will help and they dont allow you to talk to a supervisor. I even sent the death certificate certified and they never recorded getting it. I filed a complaint with the Attorney Generals office and although they cannot take on the case personally they do track it and watch for multiple complaints on a company. I hope you all do the same! Evidently there is big money in foreclosure.

Here we go, just when you think you are alone with this nonsense. Filed bankrupcy ,final was Feb. 08. even prior too I was never late with anything, ver anel regarding pmts. had attorney, reaffirmed toyoto vehicle and mortgage with mortgage at the time,Homecomings fin. but the same time GMAC bought Homecomings.Well GMAC says I never reaffirmed with them..SO I have been paying 1750. a month now for 3yrs. and my credit is still 620 . they doo not record my pmts!. Im listed as just walking away,,but hey their cashing the checks, I can not even lease a car. still driving my 01 camry.Im still trying to settle,maybe I should just take a train to the corporate!!! To be continued! I never give up!!I will never go with GMAC again

Actually - a rating of 1 is too high for GMAC: they are without question the very worst company I have ever dealt with. No two answers are ever the same, and the company refuses customers the opportunity to resolve issues through a designated individual. I have been routinely lied to. Customer service personnel are ignorant and/or misinformed. More than half the people I've spoken to cannot speak english well enough to communicate basic facts, and when I ask to be connected to another person who can speak english, they hang up on me. Supervisors do not return calls. My advice: when confronted with the proposition of doing business with GMAC, run like hell. It is hard to comprehend that a financial institution like this one is permitted to remain in business.

My situation has been described by numerous people above. GMAC wants more and more and more money - they've more than doubled my monthly payment that I was having trouble with in the first place and asked for a modification. Result: I didn't qualify for assistance because of inadequate income!! They're holding more than $5000 of my 2005 hurricane insurance proceeds because the work has to be 90% complete before they release the funds. What contractor is going to do 90% of the work without payment? I'm ready commit a felony against any GMAC employee I might encounter! Nothing but scripted answers and - worse - wrong advice that leads to lost time and effort in resolving the problem. Obviously, the don't want resolution. Just send more money and give us your house. I could go on and on, but it's all been said by others.
