if i could give 0 stars i would. i have been to the food lion on point lookout rd in southern maryland 3 separate times. everyone who works here seems to be angry or maybe in a coma. not one employee has ever smiled, looked me in the eyes, said hello, how are you, nothing, at this point i would take a deragatory comment to know if they are even real people with emotions. i don't know if this is a cultural thing, i am from VA. or if they just hire rude people at this store, they don't care or maybe something more like profiling the customer and who they will/will not speak to. i am paying money to this place so you people can have a job, stop being rude and having the worst customer service skills in the grocery business.

Do you think Corporate offices could do something about Ashland City TN STORE on Frey Street in Tennessee-? They cut hours constantly at last minute and don't schedule enough hours for their employees. They just cut hours last 2 weeks on cashiers, baggers, etc. and then same time hired new people doing the same jobs. That is WRONG allthe way around. And the Management BLAMES IT ALL ON CORPORATE_ we were told to do it. THANK YOU FOOD LION and hello Media maybe you need to know how FLion LLC treats their stores and customers. WE NEED STAFFING , we hate long lines! We want happy staff. Ask anyone that works at Ashland City privately how they feel and they will ALL tell you the same story. they cant hardly makes ends meet cause food lion cuts cuts cuts hours.. CAN YOU LIVE OFF 4 hours a week? How about 10? GOOD LUCK Dear Walmart, we need a job!

I shop at the East Towne Center Food Lion in Knoxville TN. I have asked at least 4 times for the deli=bakery to stock your Raspberry Strusel. They have the Cheesecake Strusel which does not sell. If the cheesecake sits there for weeks and does not sell, why won't the deli=manager try the Raspberry? She actually told the manager in front of me that the Raspberry would not sell. Doesn't the customer matter anymore?

As an employee and shopper Food Lion SUCKS! That's all that can be said! The company treats you poorely as a customer or as a worker.... WHAT GIVES

i am a manager with the kroger grocery chain, but i will shop at food lion due to the location from my home and also because of my former employment with delhize(hanafords). on sunday sept 26, 2010 i attempted to purchase some items at the Food Lion merchant walk in Richmond, Va. i had a valid credit card that was damaged and i explained to the cashier that she could key in the account number and expiration date into the system and with an over ride it should work and validate. i also explained i had a new card coming in the mail. the cashier said it couldnt be done. i explained i understand your concerns as long as you have the actual card an key the numbers in it should be ok. i explained to her that sometime the magnatic strips in the cards goes bad so you have to key in the numbers. the cashier call the CSM who was outside of the store she came in was very rude and even did a red robin on me as if i was a criminal trying to rip the store off. i decided as of today i will not shop in food lion stores and i will stick with my own company Kroger.

September 14, 2010 Food Lion 2110 Executive Dr. Salisbury, NC 28145 To Whom It May Concern: I have the immense displeasure of visiting your store located at 5432 Riverstation Blvd College Park, GA 30349 on today around 8:30am. I found it to be extreme poor customer service when checking out there was one cashier ring up the very large purchase of another shopper. There was another cashier bagging the vast items and finally, a gentleman at the customer service counter wondering aimlessly as if he was uncertain of his purpose. I don’t have an issue of waiting but certainly do not feel it necessary to wait for such a very large sale to complete when I have two items and there are in view two other available workers seemingly able to assist me. It astonished me to watch the other able cashier continue to bad the grocery items of this customer clearly able to see I only had a small purchase and by this time another customer has approached now we are both waiting to pay for items as an added bonus, we now have to wait for the ringing cashier to perform her own price check of an item. In her absence, the gentleman at the customer service counter asks the bagging cashier where the ringing cashier went he may have been one “in charge” but he certainly did not take charge. We all continued to wait. Once back from the price check we now have to wait for the customer who apparently is paying with tax payers monies to be rung out in more than one transaction (still no one has offered to open another register) in fact, they the two assisting cashiers are playing with the customers baby meanwhile myself and the gentleman behind me continue to wait. This delay went on in excess of ten minutes (no exaggeration!!) I thought of going elsewhere but had a meeting to get to but I am making a mental note not to ever shop here again as the customer service is horrific and I am so dismayed to I will most certainly be mentioning this to my office staff in our meeting encouraging them to take the time to drive to Publix where customer service is paramount. In the economy we are in, businesses should make every effort to attract and keep customers having customer wait to pay merchandise when the store is not busy and have two employees work on one customer when two more are waiting is unacceptable in my opinion. Needless to say, I won’t be back but felt compelled to share my experience in hopes you might see where some customer service 101 or just plain common sense may be warranted in this instance. Once I arrived back at my office, I contacted the store to request the name and contact number of the District Manager, the worker who answered the phone, could not provide the contact information of the District Manager not surprising in light of my experience with the store just sad, very sad. Sincerely, Machell Jones CC: Store Manager 5432 Riverstation Blvd College Park, Ga. 30349

I am wondering if u are the corporate office for the foodlion in Hopkinsville ky?? if so...i am wondering why i can no longer find rebates forms..sponsered by beer companys in that store.....ever since the store opened i have shopped at it...even though it means i have to drive 35 miles or so......i done this because this was always a good store to find rebates.....usually...buy xx amount of meat, get xx amount mail in refund.........i havent been able to find these here for a very long time..even though...when im on vacation..i see them in other foodlions.... Is there a store policy at this town that doesnt allow forms to be placed there anymore? or is the beer distributors just to lazy to put them out??? either way.....if they dont start offering....rebates again....i will find a different store to shop at.....

My family and I having been shopping at Food Lion for over 15 years, Until one of the managers started dating my x-husband and apparently felt me and my families presence is a threat and have lied to have us evicted from store,The police was called and then once he arrived he was misinformed about the activities that occured we were told to not come back in the store. the conduct of these 2 managers needs to be reviewed , Im not going to stop until something is done,I honestly believe that their ability to perform job duties and separate personal life is a big problem and Food Lion is going to suffer. My son happens to also be employed there and every since this has happen he is getting unfair treatment at work, This matter needs to be reviewed and handled, The store is in Rcoky Mount,nc on Harbor West Dr. Store #261

Dear Sir or Ma’am, Thanks for your time, I am very concerned about the response of one of your employees of at Food Lion Store #2506 in Columbia, SC. My family and I have been food lion customers in many locals and in many places. If the incident is not corrected I will no longer consider myself a loyal customer and encourage others to do the same. Recently a group of young people left a cart across the street form our residence in Wales Garden, a special community in the Hollywood Rose Hill District of Columbia. I told them to return the cart and they said their “car broke down.” I told them that this tight knit community will not stand to have such a large item littering the streets. I called the store on two occasions to have them remove the cart from the curbside of our neighborhood. The cart has remained for days. The lady I spoke to at the store (Store Number 2506 on Hardin Street in Columbia, SC), her name begins with an “S” (for privacy reasons) told me that at Food Lion the employees don’t pick up carts and that someone else will just have to come and pick it up. I explained to her that it is the property of your store (with the name food lion on the back), to which she replied “that is not our responsibility, we can’t take people away from work to pick it up because they are on the clock (despite the fact that the store is less than a mile away). Well, well Food Lion, I guess myself, my family and my neighbors will no longer have the time to visit your store, thanks for helping our community. Sincerely, S.D.

I live in Belhaven NC. We have a Food Lion and the other nearest one is 25 miles away. The Food Lion here serves a large area. I have been in MANY Food Lion but this is the worst. (Not complaining about the employees). The produce will not last more than a few days. I feel we are at the end of the line and receive the old produce from Food Lions "up the road". What is wrong? Have you ever thought of putting in a new Food Lion here - one of the "super ones". I am sure the business would greatly increase. I know a lot of people go out-0f-town (as far as 50 miles) to shop somewhere else, so they can at least get good quality - I am one of these and know many more that do the same thing. We are rurral and have a lot of rural communities around us. Folks in those communities don't come here - just pass the Food Lion here. Just came from shopping here today and couldn't even buy a jar of pimentos and don't feel like driving 25 miles to purchase a jar. I was told they have been out of stock for over a month because they couldn't get any from the warehouse. HELP US HERE IN BELHAVEN. I am one that likes to keep my money in my community. But, who can afford to buy here with such poor produce and not stocked with everyday items. Someone in the coporation needs to look to our needs here. This is the only grocery store here and it should be top notch. The problem, I think, is you don't have any competition. Even the local Dollar Store and General Dollar gets a lot of your business. We are a growing little town here in eastern NC - right on the intracostal waterway. I and many others would appreciate your comments. Sandy

I AM A VERY FREQUENT CUSTOMER TO OUR LOCAL STORE IN LANCASTER, S.C. ON AIRPORT ROAD. I AM IN THE STORE IF NOT EVERY NIGHT, EVERY OTHER NIGHT. I CARE FOR MOM MOM WHO HAS BEEN VERY ILL AND I CAN'T BRING HER WITH ME TO THE STORE VERY OFTEN SINCE THERE IS NO LONGER A BENCH AT THE FRONT OF THE STORE FOR HER TO SIT AND WAIT FOR ME...THERE ARE NO LONGER ANY WHEEL CHAIRS FOR ME TO PUSH HER AROUND IN. IT WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE WORKING WHEEL CHAIRS WITH A BASKET SO THAT SHE COULD LOOK AT THE STORE ITEMS ALSO AND NOT HAVE TO WAIT UP FRONT SITTING ON THE MOTORIZED BUGGY WHICH SHE WILL NOT DRIVE....I DON'T KNOW WHY WHEEL CHAIRS ARE NOT OFFERED TO THE CUSTOMERS IN THIS DAY AND TIME WHEN THEY ARE GREALTY NEEDED BY THE CUSTOMERS OR AT LEAST A BENCH UP FRONT....I PUT SUGGESTIONS IN THE BOX, WHERE TO THEY GO?

My wife works at a Food Lion store in Tennessee. I want to voice my opioion on this European company trying to operate here in the US.. She has been a part time employee for 4 years now. Since this time she has not only be denied a full time possiton, but they have also canceled her insurance along with trying to phase out full time positions to avoid paying insurance and maturnity benifits to thier employees.. They treat thier employees like consumables and use them up without any reward in return.. I will NEVER spend my hard earned money with any Delhaze corpotation, Especially Food Lion LLC.....

The Food Lion of Fenwick Plaza, Sussex County, Delaware was built next to our housing development. The back of the store, loading docks, etc. are literally approximately 50 feet from our bedroom door. Only a wooden fence serves as a cosmetic barrier. Due to such close proximity to residential area, time and time again, we and several other neighbors have requested that ALL truck engines be turned off during times of delivery in order to minimize noise pollution. Management has superficially complied, and the issue continues, causing us to constantly call and make our request known. They say they want to be a "Good Neighbor." So, is it really too much to ask, to give the residents of Swann Cove some relief?!?

I don't understand your policy on equal opportunity for employees in prince george there are several supervisors with poor communication that use the title supervisor and manager to belittle the employees with threats and change schedules overnight and if the employees the employees give notice for a day off with family one supervisor approves it and another disapproves and the employee is penalized because of their lack of communication because a bulling process of unequal employment. This may be the reason for high turnover

Should i have to pay an overdraft fee from my bank when the cashier did not ring all my groceries together causing me to do a second purchase.

This rating only applies to Raleigh Oaks Food Lion on Lake Wheeler Road, a store about which I contacted corporate headquarters about a week ago. I don't know about the stale bread and meatless fried chicken anymore because I don't dare buy it. But I know that the wine department is never stocked, or always lacking when one goes there, and the tobacco cabinet is empty. This is very frustrating and causes me to often go all the way down Tryon Road to the Swift Creek store. What is going on at Raleigh Oaks? Are you going out of business or what? Respectfully, from an old customer, J Sessoms

I was in your store in federalsburg, md on June 13, 2010. the store was out of stock/out of business in the produce department for the strawberries, lettuce (romaine pre packaged) and almost every other table was low on product. The cashier that checked us out Ashley was great!! she was on a 12 items express lane and rang up every customer because the other 2 cashiers were outside smoking with the Manager On Duty --Jim-- and she paged TWICE for assistance!! when my husband told them that they needed help their responce was well she comes and gets us if she needs help. and the manager --Jim-- just shrugged his sholders and continued smoking!! I was waiting for a raincheck because the girl that gave me one, finally, was one of the girls that was outside smoking with Jim--the manager!! Don't you think that Jim (the manager) should have at least come inside the store and checked to make sure that everything was ok and customers were being helped instead of finishing his cigarette and coffee???

This has to do with the new Reid's Store in Cayce, SC. This is a beautifil store and well stocked. These are the problems I found since the opening: (1)Hamburger frozen on the day purchased had to be thrown away after 3 weeks in freezer (2) Bought 2 Porter House Straks on a price reduction. When I opened the cellophane you could hardly stand the smell. Looks like when meat is marked down according to the date it would be inspected and repackaged. (3)I have purchased on at least 2 occasions prepared dinners from the deli around 2:30 or 3:00 pm. The pork chops and chickern were so dry it could not be raten. I know Reid's is not Food Lion but they carry Food Lion private label items.

I visited your store in hope mills the evening of june the 8 th, i went over to your deli department where observed to women a tall one and a shorter heavey set one, they both were waiting on other customers the tall one was on the right side slicing meat for her cust. the short heavey set one took some cheese off of a slicer on the left hand side and with out wiping or cleaning it she put some roast beef on it and sliced it , her cust. then asked for some cheese so again she took the roast off and with out wiping or cleaning the machine put the cheese up there and started slicing. the tall one finished slicing meat for her cust. and they asked for cheese she at least cleaned it before slicing on the left handed one that had the roast beef on it. any way this has detoured me from shopping your deli department in hope mills.. thank you. kathy mcafee.
